Him Too: Another AEW Star Injured, Misses Scheduled Match
That explains a bit. There are all kinds of reasons for a wrestler to be out of action and one of the most common is an injury. You never know when someone is going to go on he shelf and it can keep them away from the ring for quite awhile. Occasionally you will see a promotion do something to hide the injury but now we know about another wrestler who needs some time off. Defy Wrestling has announced that AEW’s Eddie Kingston is injured and was forced out of his scheduled match on Saturday. F4WOnline.com is reporting that Kingston suffered the injury last Wednesday, though there is no word on what happened. Kingston did not appear live on either AEW show this week. They do look similar. The look is one of the most important concepts in all of wrestling. A wrestler needs to do something to catch your attention and looking a certain way is often near the top of the list. This could be in the form of a costume or something to make your face stand out and there are limitless possibilities. Now though, a WWE star is being accused of ripping off another look. R-Truth Suffers Torn Quad, Needs Surgery
You hate to see it. It had been previously reported that R-Truth had potentially suffered an injury during a match with Grayson Waller on the November 1 episode of NXT. Please don’t be bad. Injuries are one of the worst things that you can see happen in wrestling. Not only can they stop a storyline or a match from continuing as planned, but much more importantly they can put someone in a bad spot in the short and long term. Unfortunately that might be the case again as a WWE star might have been injured over the weekend. According to a variety of posts on Twitter, Carmella may have been injured during a WWE live event over the weekend. That’s him. WWE has a lot of resources and one of its biggest is having its own developmental territory in NXT. The company is able to bring up wrestlers who have been appearing on national television whenever they want to but WWE has a bit of a strange habit of changing things up about them in the process. That seems to be the case again with an NXT legend. Tommaso Ciampa was officially called up to Monday Night Raw earlier this month and became part of the roster. Ciampa appeared on this week’s show when he attacked the returning Mustafa Ali. During the attack, Ciampa was referred to by his last name only, suggesting that his first name had been dropped. In addition, earlier on Monday, TVA Sports Quebec’s Kevin Raphael said that Ciampa had lost the Tommaso name. This comes after WWE has shortened over names in recent weeks. So Long: Former Champion Departs WWE
Fare thee well. There have been a lot of departures from WWE over the last several months and the majority of them have not been against the wrestlers’ wishes. WWE has released so many wrestlers that it has been hard to keep up with all of them, but not everyone has been let go. Now it seems that another wrestler has left, but this time it was their own decision to depart. According to Fightful, Kushida has left WWE. This comes after Kushida was attacked by Von Wagner last week on NXT, though there was no indication that Kushida was leaving. Kushida officially signed with WWE in April 2019 and spent his time with the company in NXT and on 205 Live. He won the Cruiserweight Title in April 2021 and held it for a little over five months before losing the title to Roderick Strong in September of the same year. Rick Boogs Injured At WrestleMania 38; Update On His Condition
That’s not good. On Saturday night, Rick Boogs suffered an injury during Night 1 of WrestleMania 38. He was teaming with Shinsuke Nakamura as they challenged Jimmy and Jey Uso for the SmackDown tag team championships. WWE.com is reporting the following: After being carried off following his SmackDown Tag Team Title Match Saturday night, it was determined that Rick Boogs suffered a torn quadriceps to the patella tendon. Boogs suffered the injury attempting to perform yet another stunning feat of strength with both Jimmy and Jey Uso on his shoulders when his leg gave out. John Cena Praises AEW Star, Calls Him “Spectacular”
That’s a compliment. There are very few wrestlers in history who became a star on the same level as John Cena. As the face of WWE in this generation, Cena reached a level that is almost impossible to surpass and he held it for a very long time. It is interesting when you look back at what he did to get there, and now he is mentioning one of his most well known periods again. During an interview with Forbes, Cena praised AEW’s Max Caster, saying that Caster is a better rapper than he is and that he could not beat Caster in a rap battle. The grouping has turned into a unique mixture, which has allowed AEW to present a wide variety of matches. AEW keeps bringing in new names though, meaning some wrestlers are going to have to leave. Now we know another one who won’t be back for the time being. During an interview with Instinct Culture, AEW’s Joey Janela announced that he will not be re-signing with the company when his contract expires on May 1. This comes after Janela had said that he would be re-signing in previous interviews.
