Gotcha: Surprise Heel Turn Takes Place At AEW Revolution

To the other side. While there are all kinds of wrestlers on any given roster, one of the most important distinctions between them is whether they fight for good or bad. This has been the reality in wrestling for decades and continues to be to this day. It makes a difference when someone changes from one side to the other and now it has happened again in a rather violent way. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Two Sports: Current WWE Star Hopes To Compete In Boxing Match This weekend at AEW Revolution, Jamie Hayter successfully defended the Women’s Title against Saraya and Ruby Soho. Following the match, Soho attacked Hayter and Britt Baker, aligning herself with Saraya and Toni Storm. This comes after weeks of the two groups feuding, with Soho sitting on the sidelines. The turn marks the first time that Soho has been a villain in AEW. Soho can be a force. Rough Landing: AEW Star Out Of Action Due To Injuries Suffered In Nasty Wrestling Crash

It’s a dangerous sport. There are all kinds of ways a wrestler can get hurt inside the ring but it can be just as dangerous outside. No matter how much training a wrestler might have had or how much experience they have under their belt, there is the chance that something could go wrong. It can be made even worse with a dangerous spot, and now again it has caused a wrestler to be hurt. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Needs A New Spot: AEW Star Dropped From Current Storyline On the January 13 edition of AEW Rampage, Anna Jay took part in a street fight, teaming with Tay Melo against Ruby Soho and Willow Nightingale. During the match, Jay was powerbombed off the stage and through a table, only to miss the table and land on the floor instead. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, she has not wrestled since as a result of the injury and there is no word on when she will wrestle again. No bruis..

That’s Serious: AEW Star Currently Out Of Action With Back Injury, Needed Wheelchair

It’s a violent sport. There are all kinds of ways a wrestler can get hurt in the ring, but if they can get through a match, the trick is to hide their injuries as well as possible. That is one of the hardest parts, but it can make the stories about how the wrestlers made it work all the more impressive. That was the situation again recently, as an AEW star was a lot more injured during a match than she let on. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Farewell: AEW Star Reportedly Leaving Company After Three Year Run Back on the January 13, 2023 Rampage, Tay Melo and Anna Jay were defeated by Willow Nightingale and Ruby Soho in a street fight. Melo was recently interviewed by Elite POV and revealed that she had been suffering from a back injury before the match, which was made worse during the match. It Grows: Two Big Matches Added To AEW Revolution

They needed to do that. We are less than two weeks away from AEW Revolution and that is going to be a big night. AEW only runs four regular pay per view events in any given year so they have to make the most they can out of every show. The company knows how to stack their cards with a bunch of big matches and they moved closer to doing that this week, with more matches being added. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: He Did It: Jon Moxley Is First To Reach Major AEW Milestone Two more matches were added to the Revolution card during this week’s edition of AEW Dynamite. You never know when you are going to see someone get hurt and put on the shelf for a long time. That is the kind of thing that can derail a lot of plans, but thankfully in this situation it seems that the injury is only going to cause a minor delay instead of a big change. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: He’s In For Now: Former WWE Star Set For AEW Debut This week, AEW announced that Britt Baker had suffered an undisclosed injury and would be pulled from her scheduled triple threat match along with Toni Storm and Ruby Soho. Baker did appear during the match, offering a distraction to Storm so Soho could pick up the win. Baker could have wrestled this week but AEW erred on the side of caution and held her out instead. Baker is a star worth waiting on. Check out ..

They’re on the other team. There are all kinds of wrestlers on the AEW roster and sometimes it can be difficult to keep track of everyone. Occasionally a wrestler needs to do something to mix it up a little bit, some of which involves changing from one side to another. That was the case this week, but in this case it was a pair of wrestlers instead of just one. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Well Deserved: The Wrestling World Pays Tribute To Jay Briscoe This week on AEW Dynamite, Toni Storm defeated Willow Nightingale, partially due to a distraction by Saraya. AEW has quite the balancing act on its hands but some of the wrestlers often fall through the cracks. That can be true for a variety of reasons, including injuries. Now though, two recently injured stares are back and seem to be ready to go. Later in the show, Ruby Soho returned and attacked Tay Melo and Anna Jay. This was Soho’s first appearance since All Out, when she suffered a broken nose. These are some important people to have back. Check out who is ..

Injured AEW Star Undergoes Surgery, Hopes To Breathe Again

That should fix her. Injuries are terrible to see in wrestling as you never know when someone is going to be put on the shelf for any amount of time. That is something that cannot be prepared for and no one is immune to them. After someone gets hurt, the only thing left to do is wait for them to get back in the ring. Now an injured star is on the way back to health. Back at the All Out: Zero House show, Ruby Soho and Ortiz unsuccessfully challenged Sammy Guevara and Tay Melo for the AAA Mixed Tag Team Titles. During the match, Soho suffered a broke nose and has not wrestled since. Soho has posted an image to Twitter, suggesting that she has undergone surgery to repair the damage. She also said that she is on the way to being able to breathe again. There is no word on when she will be able to return to the ring. Finally! After a month since breaking my nose at All Out. The countdown begins until I can breathe again, can’t you see my excitement?! ? pic.twitter.com/AffnyQPonx — Ruby So..

WATCH: AEW Star Announces Severe Injury, Needs Surgery

That’s a rough one. Injuries can happen to anyone at anytime in wrestling and that is never good to see. You can see someone get hurt and put on the shelf for any length of time as some of them are more serious than others. Unfortunately someone can be hurt out of nowhere, just off of a fluke situation and that seems to be the case again with a current AEW star. AEW’s Ruby Soho has released a video announcing that due to a broken nose suffered at All Out, she will be forced to undergo surgery. As a result, she will be missing her booking at 1PW in England. There is no word on how long Soho will be out of action due to her injury. Soho was injured during a match on the All Out Zero Hour show where she teamed with Ortiz in a losing effort against Tay Melo/Sammy Guevara. You don’t want to hear something like this. Check out Soho’s announcement: [This post contains video, click to play] Opinion: This is one of those things you never want to hear and hopefully Soho is back in the ring s..

Switchover: AEW Star Turns Heel In Surprising Moment On Dynamite

There’s your switch. There are a lot of ways to present a wrestler and some of them involve switching things up a bit. At some point a wrestler needs to be freshened up a bit, which can also shake up a story going forward. Occasionally it can involved a wrestler turning from either good to evil or vice versa. That was the case again this week in a major spot, and it seems to be setting up something down the road. The main event of this week’s AEW Dynamite was a barbed wire match between Eddie Kingston and Chris Jericho, with the Jericho Appreciation Society suspended in a shark cage above the ring. Ruby Soho was in charge of the cage but Tay Conti attacked her during the match. Anna Jay ran in to save Soho before turning on her and siding with Conti, turning heel in the process. Jay and Conti are former partners and friends who split earlier in the year. Opinion: AEW certainly likes to turn wrestlers to the dark side and that is going to become a problem one day. At some point, the c..

It’s A Different One: Update On Ruby Soho’s Injury Status

That could be worse. Injuries are one of the few universal issues in wrestling, as anyone can go out of action at any time. It can be quite the ordeal waiting on them to recover, as any storyline could be stopped out of nowhere. That can hurt all kinds of things in a wrestling promotion, but sometimes the injury is part of the storyline. Thankfully that is the case again. Last week on AEW Dynamite, the Jericho Appreciation Society slammed Ruby Soho’s hand in a car door, seemingly breaking it. Soho appeared on this week’s show but did not wrestle, with Eddie Kingston swearing revenge against Chris Jericho for causing Soho’s injury. According to Wrestling Observer Radio, Soho’s injury is not legitimate and is only a way to extend the Kingston vs. Jericho feud. Soho wrestled a match for Wrestling Revolver over the weekend with no issues. Opinion: That is a relief after AEW has suffered so many injuries in recent months. Thankfully Soho should be back in the ring in no time, as the injur..

Welcome Back: Jon Moxley’s Return To The Ring Officially Announced

Welcome back. There are a lot of reasons a wrestler might miss time from the ring. It might be due to a wrestler needing a break or it might be an injury, but sometimes it could be something a lot more serious. That was the case with one of the biggest stars in AEW, who needed to take some time off to deal with some personal issues. Now though, we know when he is returning to the ring. Back in November 2021, AEW’s Jon Moxley entered a rehabilitation center for alcohol related issued. As a result, he has been absent from the ring and television ever since. Now though, Game Changer Wrestling has announced that Moxley will be returning to the ring to defend the GCW World Title against Homicide on January 23. Inaugural TBS Champion Crowned

History has been made. On tonight’s episode of AEW Dynamite, Jade Cargill took on Ruby Soho in the finals of the tournament to crown the inaugural TBS champion. But who talked out as the victor? After a hard-hitting contest, Jade Cargill would defeat Ruby Soho to become the first-ever TBS Champion. Check out how both competitors got here: [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] From our own Thomas Hall: Jade powers her around to start and Soho thinks she might need another plan. That doesn’t seem to work very well as Soho is sent outside in a hurry, but here is Mercedes Martinez to yell. Cue Thunder Rosa to fight Martinez to the back and we take an early break. Back with Rosa managing an STO and kicking away at Cargill’s leg. That earns her a heck of a shoulder breaker for two though and Soho is right back in trouble. A belly-to-back suplex gets Soho out of trouble so Sterling gets up on the apron. That’s good for an ejection so Carg..

Another Former WWE Star Makes AEW Debut, Signs With Company

Nice to meet you. There have been all kinds of WWE releases over the last year, with NXT taking the brunt of the punishment. The show has seen a bunch of wrestlers leave, many of which came out of nowhere. As a result, there have been all kinds of talented wrestlers flooding the market, and now one of them has found what seems to be a more permanent home. Former NXT and Impact Wrestling star Mercedes Martinez made her debut on AEW Dynamite. Martinez, under a hood, attacked Thunder Rosa during Rosa’s TBS Title tournament match against Jade Cargill, allowing Cargill to pick up the win. Following the match, Martinez unveiled herself and was chased off by Ruby Soho, who will be facing Cargill in the tournament finals. Martinez was released from WWE earlier this year and appeared briefly for Impact Wrestling. Welcome to @AEW, @RealMMartinez! New Column: AEW’s Garden Style Grand Slam

AEW has changed the wrestling landscape with a mixture of different tactics. In addition to having some very entertaining wrestling, they have also done a nice job of tying their current product back into wrestling history. Some of these things have been flat out copies, but others have been a bit more subtle than that. This week, as AEW approaches probably their biggest Dynamite ever, they are dipping back into history again, whether they realize it or not. This week, AEW is presenting its Grand Slam event in New York City at Arthur Ashe Tennis Stadium. The show will feature probably set AEW’s all time attendance record and will feature an absolutely stacked card. Already announced are Kenny Omega vs. Bryan Danielson, Britt Baker defending the Women’s Title against Ruby Soho, the Cody Rhodes vs. Malakai Black showdown, Sting in action and a CM Punk interview. That’s one of the biggest cards ever, and then there is Rampage on top of the whole thing. All of that alone is an amazing car..

AEW All Out Smashes Important Record

I’d call it an accomplishment. AEW has hit the ground running despite not even being around for three years yet. That is the kind of thing that you almost never see in the wrestling industry but AEW has made it work very well. What makes it all the more interesting is seeing where they are going to go next, and now they have a new accomplishment worth bragging about. Last Sunday, AEW presented its All Out 2021 pay per view, which featured multiple title matches, the in-ring return of CM Punk and the debuts of Ruby Soho, Adam Cole and Bryan Danielson. On Monday, AEW President Tony Khan said that the show was the most viewed AEW pay per view of all time. Now, Busted Open Radio has released a clip of Khan speaking about the show, where he reveals that All Out received over two hundred thousand pay per view buys. The previous AEW record was Revolution 2021, drawing about 125,000 buys. Thank you to everyone who’s ordered #AEWAllOut & made it the most watched @AEW PPV ever! Thank you every..

VIDEO: Two More Surprise Debuts At AEW All Out

Two for one. There are a lot of talented people on the AEW roster and a lot of that is due to the amount of places they draw their talent from. AEW has put together a very deep talent roster with several wrestlers from around the world and from different backgrounds. That was the case again this weekend, as AEW brought in two new wrestlers whose backgrounds could not be much difference. Two special debuts took place at All Out. First, Japanese legend Minoru Suzuki debuted and confronted Jon Moxley after Moxley defeated Satoshi Kojima. The two then got into a fight, resulting in Suzuki leaving Moxley laying. The two are now set to face each other during this week’s AEW Dynamite. Moxley had been suggesting that he wanted to face Suzuki for several weeks. Late r in the show, Ruby Soho, formerly known as Ruby Riott in WWE, debuted in the Casino Battle Royal, appearing as the match’s Joker. Soho would go on to win the match by last eliminating Thunder Rosa, thereby earning a future Women’..
