Let the bidding begin. According to a report from CNBC, WWE has hired JPMorgan to begin the process of selling the company. This is being reported following the news that Vince McMahon returned to the company yesterday. The report states that if a deal occurs, it would likely occur in the next three to six months. In addition, WWE plans to talk to potential buyers before it makes a decision on TV rights renewal agreements. McMahon had the following to stay in a statement: “My return will allow WWE, as well as any transaction counterparties, to engage in these processes knowing they will have the support of the controlling shareholder.” His return doesn’t affect current leadership as Stephanie, and former CAA agent Nick Khan are co-CEOs. However, it remains unclear what type of role, if any, Vince would want at WWE if he sold the company. WWE recently announced a partnership with EXOS (formerly known as Athlete’s Performance) for WWE’s Next In Line (NIL) trainees the opportunity to train at one of EXOS’ world-class training and development facilities across the United States. He could work. Roman Reigns has dominated WWE for over two years now, with one of the longest World Title reigns in company history. Reigns has run through just about everyone that has come in his path, which has not left him with many opponents left to come after him. WWE is going to need to look in a different direction to find a challenger and now someone is calling out Reigns. Reigns successfully defended his Undisputed WWE Championship against Logan Paul in the main event of Crown Jewel over the weekend. Following his victory, SmackDown’s Santos Escobar sent out a tweet, saying that he was acknowledging Reigns, but when the time was right, Escobar would be coming for him. Watching those shows has become a weekly tradition for years and now the biggest wrestling show in history is setting up for a major milestone. According to the WrestleVotes Twitter account, WWE has set plans in motion for the 30th anniversary of Monday Night Raw in January, though there is no word on what those plans might be. When Vince McMahon was still in charge of WWE, there was a possibility of the show taking place at the Manhattan Center in New York City but it is not clear if that plan is still an option. It is not clear what those plans are, but Balor is expected to be featured in the foreseeable future. The company is having some issues with its wrestlers and its leadership, which has been going on for more than awhile now. One of the company’s leaders tried to help things out with it not that long ago, but some of the details might not have been so well received. Back on August 24, AEW held a talent meeting before Dynamite. Several veterans spoke at the meeting, including Kenny Omega. Perhaps the top story in professional wrestling in the last 20 years took place last week as Vince McMahon announced that he was retiring and stepping away from WWE. This means that for the first time in 40 years, there will be new leadership in the most profitable wrestling company in history. Naturally, this decision would lead to several mixed responses from all different members of the wrestling community. McMahon has run the company for over forty years and now we are in for a very different future. The question becomes who will take over McMahon’s jobs, and now we have an idea of that, plus some of the other changes that may be coming. According to Fightful Select, Bruce Prichard is taking over leadership of the creative team, with his first show in charge being this week’s SmackDown, with Triple H and Ed Koskey assisting. Welcome back. Impact Wrestling has been around for a very long time, though unfortunately for it, a good bit of the history is not the most well received. There are several ideas and concepts through the company’s history that have been popular though. Now, one of those more popular ideas is back for a televised reunion, or at least in the short term. This week on Impact Wrestling, Aces & Eights made a return to help D’Lo Brown fight off Honor No More. Garrett Bischoff and Wes Brisco appeared for the team in a lowing effort before helping Brown clear the ring. Aces & Eights was active in Impact Wrestling, from 2012-2013 and had several members, including their leader Bully Ray, who wound up winning the World Heavyweight Title on two occasions.
