After an inspired performance against Roman Reigns at Crown Jewel, Logan Paul gained a lot of notoriety from the greater wrestling community. Even with no real expectations that he would have defeated Roman Reigns, the consensus is Logan Paul stepped up to the moment in Saudi Arabia. AEW Releases Name Involved In All Out Backstage Brawl
It had to happen to someone. There have been a lot of stories in wrestling this year but perhaps the most bizarre has been the backstage brawl after AEW All Out. There have been several suspensions as a result of the issue and the question becomes just how bad things are going to get for everyone. While there are still issues to be decided for the top names, we now know the fate of one person involved. According to Wrestling Observer Radio, AEW has officially released Ace Steel from the company, where he had been working backstage. Steel was involved in the backstage brawl and reportedly threw a chair, which hit Nick Jackson in the head. Steel had also appeared on a recent edition of Dynamite, where he inspired CM Punk to face Jon Moxley in a rematch for the AEW World Title. It’s a reunion. There are all kinds of wrestlers who pass through the WWE roster at one point or another. Some of them make a huge impact but the majority are often little more than footnotes in the company’s history. KB’s Review: Who Else Do They Have
As you might have heard, Summerslam is this coming Saturday and that means it is time for….well a bunch of stuff we have seen before. If there was a theme to this year’s show, it would be Summerslam: Rematch Edition, and that isn’t the most exciting way to go. There isn’t much on the card that has me inspired to see where things go, and that is rather disappointing. At the same time though, it is rather unsurprising and that is what we are going to look at this week. Summerslam has eight matches on the card and the majority of the card is comprised of rematches. He has a plan. There are all kinds of wrestlers who have come from another sport. This has been the case for years and it will likely continue to be the case for as long as wrestling is around. In modern times, mixed martial arts has become more prevalent as a feeder system to wrestling and now another top mixed martial artist seems interested in at least dabbling in wrestling. On Saturday, UFC Middleweight Champion Israel Adesanya made an entrance inspired by the Undertaker. In an interview with BT Sports, Adesanya said that he would be interested in working with WWE, or some other promotion at some point. New Law Inspired By Wrestler’s Suicide Officially Passed
That’s a big step. Wrestlers are celebrities and that means they are going to be receive attention, at least in some circles. At the same time, they are mainly only going be known for one thing. This can create some issues for wrestlers, especially if they are doing something outside of their norm. That was the case a few years ago and now, after a tragic incident, something is going to change. Back in May 2020, Japanese star Hana Kimura was a cast member on the Terrace House reality series in Japan. Her appearances were met with a series of online insults and harassment, which led Kimura to commit suicide. Now, according to NBC News, the Japanese government has passed a new law, making online insults punishable by up to a year in prison and a fine of up to 300,000 yen (about $2,260). The law is expected to go into effect this summer. They’re back. With so many wrestlers in WWE today, it can be difficult to remember who everyone is and what everyone is doing. A lot of the time, these wrestlers need something that makes you stand out among the rest, with the best way often being a big return. There were two returns this week on NXT, with a pair of wrestlers making their first appearances in several weeks. The wrestlers have to come up with a way to make the fans stop what they are doing and look at what is in front of them. I think that warrants a thank you. One of the coolest things to see in wrestling is a star giving something back to the fans. You don’t get to see it very often, but it is certainly something that takes place, even if that might be behind the scenes. Now it has happened again, but in this case it is something rather personal due to being inspired by a personal story. The Rock has posted a new video to his Instagram showing him giving his own truck to a fan. Rock’s original plan had been to give the fan the same version of the Porsche Taycan that he drives in his new movie Red Notice. Did you catch it? There are all kinds of wrestlers in the world today and it is difficult to find a way for them to stick out. With wrestlers being able to do all kinds of athletic feats, they are going to have to have to come up with something to set them apart. One of the best ways is with a different look, which was on display this week, even if you might not have noticed. This week’s Monday Night Raw featured a segment between Becky Lynch and Liv Morgan. WWE Star Debuts Very New Character Inspired By Classic Movie
That’s a new one. There are all kinds of characters in the wrestling world and some of them stand out more than others. Sometimes you see something based on a popular TV show or a movie, but every now or then you see something that is out of the past. These have a tendency to stand out quite a bit, and now we might be seeing the same thing all over again. Shane Thorne wrestled a dark match before this week’s SmackDown where he debuted a new gimmick. Thorne’s new character is inspired by Crocodile Dundee, a 1986 Australian movie. After his debut, Thorne tweeted out clips from Crocodile Dundee and the Crocodile Hunter, talking about how great the two of them were. Becky Lynch’s Heel Turn Has A Surprising Inspiration
There’s a reason for that. Summerslam included more than a few surprises, with Becky Lynch’s return being perhaps the biggest of them all. Lynch made her return after nearly a year and a half away and won the SmackDown Women’s Title in less than thirty seconds. That was quite the turn of events and it seems that Lynch is going to be a villain. A change like that warrants some more information and now we have just that. Only in wrestling. There are certain people in wrestling who would probably not be anywhere near as big of a star elsewhere. Wrestling lends itself to tall tales and pure insanity at times, and some wrestlers have completely embraced this concept. When you see that take place, it can be incredibly interesting and one of the most fascinating of them all is getting some special treatment. It’s something new. Characters are one of the most important ideas in all of wrestling. You can only get so far with someone being plain and boring so mixing it up with a different gimmick or personality can make all the difference in the world. Some of these can be rather over the top and that is not a bad idea. It seems to be the case again now, as someone is doing something rather new. During this week’s Monday Night Raw, Nikki Cross spoke about trying to overcome the odds and embracing her inner spirit. That would be a crossover. There are all kinds of characters in wrestling and it is pretty hard to come up with something actually original or fresh. With so many things that have been done before, there is very little left to see.
