Battle Of The Belts IV Date: October 7, 2022 Location: Entertainment And Sports Arena, Washington DC Commentators: Jim Ross, Excalibur, William Regal, Chris Jericho We’re back to another of these things and that does not offer the most inspiration. The series does not seem to be a priority for AEW but the action tends to be rather good. This is also a live show so maybe things can be picked up a little bit from its usual status, which would be appreciated. Let’s get to it. All-Atlantic Title: Trent Beretta vs. Pac Pac is defending and is still in the ring after wrestling in the 20+ minute Rampage main event. Trent has Chuck Taylor in his corner and wins an early slugout for a bit of a surprise. A running clothesline puts Pac on the floor and there’s the dive to take him out for a bonus. Back in and Trent hammers on the ropes, setting up a dropkick to take it outside again. A spear on the floor drops Pac for two back inside but he kicks Trent outside this time. The table is set up bu..
That’s the spirit. Wrestlers are larger than life characters that we watch every single week on TV. That can give us some different impressions of them, but ultimately they are regular people when the cameras go off. Unfortunately that includes serious problems that a lot of us go through, and now a wrestling legend is taking a different look at some of the issues that he is dealing with at the moment. WWE Hall of Famer Jim Duggan has posted a video to Twitter, talking about his recent health issues. Duggan is currently undergoing radiation to deal with prostate cancer but said that he is no longer going to feel sorry for himself. He talked about how glad he is to only have six weeks left of radiation treatment and how many people have it worse than he does. Duggan has had his prostate removed as well as beating kidney cancer in the 1990s. This is a pretty awesome statement. Check out Duggan’s inspiration message: [This post contains video, click to play] Opinion: That’s the kind o..
They’re trying something else. Wrestlers have a weird situation when it comes to acting. While they are acting in front of the camera, they are only seen as wrestlers, meaning they do not have many opportunities in mainstream acting roles. Some wrestlers are able to pull it off though and now two more successful wrestlers are going to try their hand at a different form of entertainment. Earlier this week, the IInspiration (Cassie Lee/Jesse McKay) announced that they will be taking a hiatus from the ring for the time being. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the word backstage at this week’s Impact Wrestling TV taping is the team is hoping to try their hands at acting. There is no word on if they have any start on their efforts or any roles in the works. Lee and McKay last wrestled on Saturday at Impact Wrestling’s Rebellion pay per view, losing to the Influence. Opinion: This sounds like something that makes sense on paper but I’m not sure how well it is going to work in..
It might be a bit. Wrestlers are people who tend to move around a lot, as you do not often see someone who stays in one place permanently. There is always another place to wrestle in front of fresh fans with fresh eyes. It means wrestlers will leave one promotion for another every now and then, but this time we are seeing some people leave, presumably for no particular place. Impact Wrestling’s The IInspiration, comprised of Jesse McKay and Cassie Lee, have announced that they will be stepping away from wrestling at the moment. The team gave no reason for their departure. The statement also thanked Scott D’Amore and Impact Wrestling for the memories. There is no word on where the two will wrestle next, or if they ever will. Thank you @IMPACTWRESTLING ?? pic.twitter.com/S2GjB3f9K8 — Jessica McKay (@JessicaMcKay) April 27, 2022 Opinion: I’m not sure what is going on here but it seems like one or both members of the team need some time away from the ring for whatever reason. Maybe it ..
History has been made twice! Titles have long since been the focal point of wrestling promotions and that is not a surprise. They are the easiest concepts in the wrestling world and that will be the case for a long time to come. Wrestlers can win, lose or challenge for a title and have an instant story to be told, making putting a story together that much easier. That was the case twice over the weekend. Three titles changed hands at Impact Wrestling’s Sacrifice event on Saturday night. First, the Knockouts Tag Team Titles changed hands as the IInfluence defeated the IInspiration to win the titles for the first time. Later in the show, Tasha Steelz won the Knockouts Title from Mickie James, marking her first reign with the title. Finally, the Good Brothers lost the Tag Team Titles to Eric Young and Joe Doering of Violent By Design, marking the group’s second reign with the championships. All of the other champions retained their titles on the night. Opinion: It was certainly an event..
Impact Wrestling Date: December 30, 2021 Hosts: Josh Matthews, Scott D’Amore It’s the last show of the year and just like last week, that means it is time for the second half of the Best Of 2021. That could make for a good show, as Impact Wrestling knows how to pick and choose their best stuff. There should be some solid picks here, as was the case last week. We also have some more awards to hand out so let’s get to it. As usual, I’ll be copying and pasting the full version of the matches rather than the clipped ones airing here. Josh and Scott welcome us to the show. We see the last few minutes of Moose retaining the World Title over Eddie Edwards in a Full Metal Mayhem match at Turning Point. Kaleb With A K is doing a photo shoot for the Influence when the IInspiration interrupts. They insults each other’s outfits and the IInspiration’s own photographer comes in, leaving Kaleb With A K unhappy. From Bound For Glory. Knockouts Tag Team Titles: IInspiration vs. Decay The debutin..
You could go one way or the other. This week’s edition of Monday Night Raw was bookended by a pair of huge matches. The show opened with a steel cage match between WWE Champion Big E. and Kevin Owens, while the main event featured Raw Women’s Champion Becky Lynch defending her title against Liv Morgan. That is quite the lineup, but it almost went a bit differently. According to PWInsider.com, WWE originally planned for the cage match to main event this week’s Monday Night Raw. The change was made due in part to the show taking place on the anniversary of the first women’s main event between Lita and Trish Stratus on December 6, 2004. Originally, the cage match was to have been a segment between Owens and Big E. talking about their upcoming match. It was a busy night. Did you catch it? There are all kinds of wrestlers in the world today and it is difficult to find a way for them to stick out. With wrestlers being able to do all kinds of athletic feats, they are going to have to have to come up with something to set them apart. One of the best ways is with a different look, which was on display this week, even if you might not have noticed. This week’s Monday Night Raw featured a segment between Becky Lynch and Liv Morgan. The segment saw Morgan wearing a red outfit, which was inspired by Britney Spears’ outfit from her Oops!….I Did It Again music video. Morgan referenced Spears in a tweet by saying “Hit Me Becky One More Time. NXT interviewer Samantha Irvin mentioned the Spears inspiration as well. .@YaOnlyLivvOnce on her “Oops! It lived up to the hype. There are a lot of wrestling promotions in the world today and some of them are bigger than others. While WWE and AEW are going to get most of the attention, you can find all kinds of wrestling outside of the major two promotions. There are some with a deep history of their own and now one of the biggest has had its most important night of the year. Impact Wrestling held its annual Bound For Glory event over the weekend, with six title changes taking place over nine matches. There were two vacant titles won, as Jordynne Grace won the inaugural Digital Media Championship in a six way match on the Pre-Show, followed by Trey Miguel winning the vacant X-Division Title in a triple threat match also involving El Phantasmo and Steve Maclin. There were three traditional title changes. The show’s opening match saw the debuting IInspiration defeating Decay to win the Knockouts Tag Team Titles. Later in the show, Mickie James defeated Deonna Purrazzo to win the Knockout..
That’s one way to keep things going. One of the biggest stories in wrestling this year has been the massive amount of WWE roster changes. Several wrestlers have been released from the company, many of whom were quite the surprise. This has led to fallout in the form of wrestlers signing elsewhere, and now two such wrestlers are doing something fairly unique. The IInspiration, formerly known as the IIconics, have released a new music video, featuring the two of them in a song, also called The IInspiration, by Harley Cameron. The song features the two of them singing and dancing with Cameron along with some male background dancers. This comes soon after the two announced their signing with Impact Wrestling, where they will challenge for the Knockouts Tag Team Titles at Bound For Glory on October 23. It’s certainly different. They have a new home. The wrestling story of the year has been the number of releases from WWE, as both the main roster and NXT have seen extensive names let go at one point or another. That is the kind of thing that can shake up the promotion in a huge way, but it also has a major impact elsewhere. Some wrestlers are going to go to other promotions and now we know where two more are winding up. At the end of this weekend’s Impact Wrestling Knockouts Knockdown event, a video aired announcing that the IInspiration would be debuting at Bound For Glory. The team of Jessie McKay and Cassie Lee, are better known as the IIconics from WWE. The team was released earlier this year and had not appeared for a promotion since. There is no word on what they will be doing at Bound For Glory. This should be good. That’s a different one. There have been all kinds of superstars coming and going from WWE and it can be difficult to keep track of what everyone is doing. It can be even harder when some of those wrestlers aren’t on television anymore, but some of them have come up with ways to keep their names out there. Two of them have a pretty unique idea of their own coming soon. Cassie Lee and Jesse McKay, formerly known as the IIconics, will be featured on an upcoming song, soon to be released on Spotify. The song, called The Iinspiration (the team’s new name), is by Harley Cameron and will feature Lee and McKay. The team was released from WWE earlier this year and have yet to appear for any other wrestling promotion. It is not clear when they will be wrestling again. ‘The IInspiration’ by Harley Cameron feat. Jessie McKay & Cassie Lee is available for Pre-Save!! ? There’s a reason for that. Summerslam included more than a few surprises, with Becky Lynch’s return being perhaps the biggest of them all. Lynch made her return after nearly a year and a half away and won the SmackDown Women’s Title in less than thirty seconds. That was quite the turn of events and it seems that Lynch is going to be a villain. A change like that warrants some more information and now we have just that. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Lynch has returned as a heel at her own request. She has been inspired by Roman Reigns’ heel run and the work that he has done in the last year. Since returning, Lynch has turned down a challenge to face Bianca Belair on this week’s SmackDown, but she has been confirmed to face Belair for the title at Extreme Rules. This could be interesting. They’re worth another look. There are very few acts in professional wrestling who truly get over and then stay over for several years. It is even harder to pull off today when everything moves at such a fast pace, but when it happens, you can certainly feel how special it really is. That was the case with a team that split last year, but now we are getting a special look back. BOOM! Studios have announced that they will release a comic book origin story for the New Day. The first of the two issue mini series, entitled “WWE New Day: The Power Of Positivity”, will debut in July 2021 with the second issue following at some point in the future. The series will focus on all three members of the team and how they came together, following various struggles in WWE. New Day was formed in 2014, with Xavier Woods offering Kofi Kingston and Big E. inspiration following a loss. The team stayed together for only a few weeks before returning in November as the version of the team that would stick a..
In case he isn’t awesome enough. Every now and then you see someone in wrestling who does one cool thing after another. Of course they aren’t perfect and there are things that could use some adjusting, but you see something about them that makes them almost inspiring in a way. That is the case with one wrestling legend and now he is writing some of those inspirations down. Whether you are a fan of his or not, there is no denying that John Cena was a huge star during his time in WWE. Cena was the face of the company for a very long time and did a lot of things to make WWE better. One of the things that was seen well was his charity work with Make A Wish kids, with Cena shattering the all time record for most children visited. Cena is an inspiration to those kids and now he is trying to do the same thing again in a different way. According to the Hollywood Reporter, Cena will release two books based off of inspirational statements posted to his Twitter account over the years. The first..
That’s a good team for Cesaro to emulate. Tag team wrestling has been around for a very long time and it isn’t going away anytime soon. While it might not be at the heights it has been before, tag team wrestling can work very well if a company can find some teams with a chemistry. You don’t get to see it all that often, but it can help to look at some of the all time greats. One of WWE’s more prolific tag team wrestlers does just that. There are very few WWE stars of this generation with as much tag team experience as Cesaro. Over the years, Cesaro has teamed with Tyson Kidd, Shinsuke Nakamura, Jack Swagger and Sheamus with quite the bit of success most of the time. Cesaro is a very talented wrestler and has done some great things in tag teams and it might have to do with his inspiration. In a new interview with the Bump, Cesaro spoke about how he tries to emulate the Steiner Brothers in his tag teams and wrestlers more like either Rick or Scott Steiner depending on his partner. His ..
