All Kinds Of Title Changes Take Place Over The Weekend
It lived up to the hype. There are a lot of wrestling promotions in the world today and some of them are bigger than others. While WWE and AEW are going to get most of the attention, you can find all kinds of wrestling outside of the major two promotions. There are some with a deep history of their own and now one of the biggest has had its most important night of the year.
Impact Wrestling held its annual Bound For Glory event over the weekend, with six title changes taking place over nine matches. There were two vacant titles won, as Jordynne Grace won the inaugural Digital Media Championship in a six way match on the Pre-Show, followed by Trey Miguel winning the vacant X-Division Title in a triple threat match also involving El Phantasmo and Steve Maclin.
There were three traditional title changes. The show’s opening match saw the debuting IInspiration defeating Decay to win the Knockouts Tag Team Titles. Later in the show, Mickie James defeated Deonna Purrazzo to win the Knockouts Title for the fourth time. Then in the show’s main event, Josh Alexander defeated Christian Cage to win the Impact Wrestling World Title. However, just after the match ended, Moose cashed in the Call Your Shot contract to defeat Alexander and win the World Title to end the show.

Opinion: I know Impact Wrestling doesn’t get a ton of attention these days but the company has come a very long way in just a few years. After spending so much time as little more than a punchline in wrestling, they have become one of the more consistently entertaining promotions going today. Bound For Glory was a rather good night for the company, with some rather important title changes. Hopefully that gives them a nice boost going forward, which is certainly needed.
