Wrestling Legend Reveals He Occasionally Needs A Wheelchair Due To Health Issues

That’s a horrible way to go. Wrestlers are quite the athletes and you see them getting in the ring week in and week out, putting all kinds of miles on their body. At some point that is going to cause some problems for everyone involved and there is not much of a way around it. That is the case for a wrestling legend, who is having some serious health issues in his retirement. During a recent edition of Busted Open Radio, WWE Hall Of Famer Mark Henry and AEW broadcaster Mark Henry revealed that he is not able to wrestle anymore due to nerve damage in his back. As a result of the nerve damage in his sacroiliac joint, Henry has had to occasionally take a wheelchair through the airport. While Henry’s doctor has told him that the issue could be fixed through surgery, Henry should wait until he can no longer walk and use surgery as his last resort. Opinion: That is never good to hear and it is sad to think of Henry, who was known for being such a big and strong wrestler, reduced to somethi..

Ring Of Honor Death Before Dishonor 2022 Results

Death Before Dishonor 2022 Date: July 23, 2022 Location: Tsongas Center, Lowell, Massachusetts Commentators: Ian Riccaboni, Caprice Coleman Ring Of Honor is back and that should be a good thing. The company certainly has a history and it is nice to see that history continuing, but there has only been a limited build to the show on AEW TV. Then again, Ring Of Honor has always been about the in-ring work more than anything else and maybe that is enough to make the show work. Let’s get to it. Zero Hour: Colt Cabana vs. Anthony Henry JD Drake is here with Henry. Cabana takes him down by the arm to start but Henry spins out and strikes away in the corner. A sunset flip is blocked and Henry twists Cabana’s neck around to slow things down. Some more neck cranking sets up some kicks to the chest, which just fire Cabana up. Henry is fine with that and cuts him off with a piledriver for two. Back up and Cabana grabs a spinning belly to back suplex, setting up the Flip Flop and (slightly delay..

REVIEW: SmackDown – May 18, 2007: They’re Getting Ready

Welcome to KB’s Old School (and New School) Reviews. I’ve been reviewing wrestling shows for over twelve years now and have reviewed over 6,000 shows. Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, I’ll be posting a new review here on Wrestlingrumors.net. It could be anything from modern WWE to old school to indies to anything in between. Note that I rate using letters instead of stars and I don’t rate matches under three minutes as really, how good or bad can something that short be? Smackdown Date: May 18, 2007 Location: 1st Mariner Arena, Baltimore, Maryland Commentators: Michael Cole, John Bradshaw Layfield It’s the go home show for Judgment Day and I’m not sure what that is going to entail. Everything was shaken up last week when Edge won the World Title from Undertaker, who seems to be going on the shelf. Edge is going to be defending against Batista on Sunday, meaning it’s time for the rapid fire build. Let’s get to it. We open with a recap of last week’s cage match, Mark Henry’s return..

REVIEW: ECW On Sci Fi – October 30, 2007: Mashy

Welcome to KB’s Old School (and New School) Reviews. I’ve been reviewing wrestling shows for over twelve years now and have reviewed over 6,000 shows. Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, I’ll be posting a new review here on Wrestlingrumors.net. It could be anything from modern WWE to old school to indies to anything in between. ECW On Sci Fi Date: October 30, 2007 Location: Nassau Coliseum, New York City, New York Attendance: 12,300 Commentators: Joey Styles, Tazz It’s the Halloween special and this time around that means we have the Monster Mash four man battle royal between Kane, Great Khali, Mark Henry and Big Daddy V. They are leaning heavily into the freak show idea here and that is not a bad idea. I could go for seeing what else they have going on here now that Cyber Sunday is gone so let’s get to it. We open with a Halloween them..

REVIEW: Unforgiven 2007: Guess Who’s Back (Again)

Welcome to KB’s Old School (and New School) Reviews. I’ve been reviewing wrestling shows for over twelve years now and have reviewed over 6,000 shows. Unforgiven 2007 Date: September 16, 2007 Location: FedEx Forum, Memphis, Tennessee Attendance: 12,000 Commentators: Jim Ross, Jerry Lawler, Michael Cole, John Layfield, Joey Styles, Taz We’re in that weird period where we have a lot of Summerslam rematches and some of them are a bit more interesting than others. There are a few interesting possibilities though, as Undertaker is returning to face Mark Henry and Randy Orton is getting another WWE Title shot at a furious John Cena. Let’s get to it. The opening video..

WWE Hall Of Famer Rips Recent Storyline, Says It Insults His Intelligence

He doesn’t sound like a fan. WWE is a lot of things, including the most successful wrestling promotion in history. They know how to make money hand over fist, but that does not mean they are the most entertaining company. A good bit of their television product is not often well received, and now a WWE Hall of Famer is venting some issues he has with what the company is offering. Ronda Rousey returned to WWE after nearly three years away and won the women’s Royal Rumble. She has since announced that she will challenge SmackDown Women’s Champion Charlotte at WrestleMania 38. Speaking on Busted Open Radio, WWE Hall of Famer Mark Henry spoke about Rousey’s return at the Royal Rumble. Henry took issue with WWE ignoring the Brand Split by having Rousey appear on both shows. Henry said that if WWE is going to keep changing things around, they might as well have one roster. He also said that he felt his intelligence was being insulted by the whole thing. Opinion: This is something that does ..

AEW Dynamite Live Coverage And Results – January 5, 2022

Dynamite Date: January 5, 2022 Location: Prudential Center, Newark, New Jersey Commentators: Excalibur, Tony Schiavone, Jim Ross It’s the debut on TBS and that means it is time for a stacked card. We have a TBS Title match, a Tag Team Title match, and a rematch of last month’s instant classic between Hangman Page and Bryan Danielson for the World Title. This time around there are going to be judges though, and that should work. Let’s get to it. Opening sequence. AEW World Title: Bryan Danielson vs. Hangman Page Page is defending and there are three judges in case we hit the sixty minute time limit, with Mark Henry, Jerry Lynn and Paul Wight at ringside. They take their time to start and Danielson runs away a few times. Back in and Danielson dodges away again, allowing him to get in some more jumping jacks. That’s enough for Page, who sends him outside again and this time takes Danielson down. Back in and the big dive is countered with a toss into the barricade for a hard crash. Dan..

WATCH: WWE’s Greatest Feats Of Strength

It’s kind of their signature thing. WWE has been around for a very long time and has a reputation for being a big man’s wrestling promotion. The company has long since been built around the idea of power wrestlers who are able to throw others around and make it look easy. That has been the case for a long time now and WWE is taking a look back at some impressive feats of strength. WWE has released a video looking at some of the most impressive feats of strength in the history of the company. The video includes names such as Mark Henry, Undertaker, Brock Lesnar and Cesaro, but also includes some lesser known names such as Johnny Stamboli. There are moments from both WWE and WWF history, including Lex Luger body slamming Yokozuna on July 4, 1993. This is pretty impressive. Check out the video, plus some more you might have forgotten: [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] Opinion: This is one ..

REVIEW: Monday Night Raw – December 23, 2013: The Battle For Christmas

Welcome to KB’s Old School (and New School) Reviews. I’ve been reviewing wrestling shows for over twelve years now and have reviewed over 6,000 shows. Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, I’ll be posting a new review here on Wrestlingrumors.net. It could be anything from modern WWE to old school to indies to anything in between. Monday Night Raw Date: December 23, 2013 Location: Frank Erwin Center, Austin, Texas Commentators: Michael Cole, John Bradshaw Layfield Tonight is the taped Christmas special featuring the potentially amazing Damien Sandow vs. Mark Henry battle to save Christmas. Again, it’s the 400lb monster who talks about splitting wigs fighting a Latin speaking know it all to prevent Christmas from being canceled. There is no way this won’t be awesome. Let’s get to it. We open with Santa Henry and Damien Claus taking turns re..

AEW Rampage Results – October 9, 2021

Rampage Date: October 8, 2021 Location: Licouras Center, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania Commentators: Excalibur, Taz, Chris Jericho We’re still in front of one of the hottest crowds of the year and that should do a lot of good for the card. This is another stacked show as we have CM Punk vs. Daniel Garcia, the Tag Team Titles on the line and the Brian Cage challenging Ricky Starks for the FTW Title in a street fight. Let’s get to it. Opening sequence. We start with Mark Henry’s split screen interview. Daniel Garcia and 2.0 say that CM Punk walked away from wrestling when the focus wasn’t all on him anymore but now he’s back to get the attention. Punk isn’t worried about that and is here to face Garcia because of his skill. Oh and 2.0 are like the Nasty Boys’ little brothers. CM Punk vs. Daniel Garcia 2.0 is here with Garcia. Punk wins a test of strength to put Garcia down, setting up a crossarm choke. Back up and Punk sends him into the corner so Garcia slows things down a bit. A heel ..

AEW Makes Permanent Change To Commentary Team

A new voice. Commentary is one of the most important parts of a wrestling show. The commentary team guides the fans through what they are watching and tells them where the promotion wants them to go. That is the kind of thing that can make or break a show and the wrong commentary team can be a bit of a mess. Now we are seeing an adjustment to one such team. AEW’s Ricky Starks was recently interviewed by WrestleTalk and revealed that he would be replacing Mark Henry as a permanent commentator on AEW Rampage. This comes after just six episodes of the show, with Henry being on commentary team since the beginning. Henry has still been conducting interviews before the main event. It is not clear if he will continue in this role going forward, or what else he will be doing for AEW. Starks is talented enough. Check out what he has done during his time in AEW: [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] ..

AEW Rampage Results – September 10, 2021

Rampage Date: September 10, 2021 Location: Fifth Third Arena, Cincinnati, Ohio Commentators: Jim Ross, Mark Henry, Taz, Tony Schiavone The biggest week in AEW history wraps up here with a pay per view quality match. This week’s feature match will see Pac vs. Andrade El Idolo in a match that was supposed to take place at All Out. Instead it is happening here, along with hometown boy Brian Pillman Jr. facing the rather rude Max Caster. Let’s get to it. Opening sequence. Pac vs. Andrade El Idolo Chavo Guerrero is here with Idolo. They stare each other down to start before going at it in a hurry. Andrade catches him with a basement dropkick and we hit the Tranquilo pose. Some kicks in the ribs just wake Pac up and he hurricanranas Andrade outside for the big running flip dive. Pac whips him hard into the barricade and we hit the chinlock back inside. Andrade snaps off a running boot to the face and a hanging DDT onto the apron sends Pac hard to the floor. That means Andrade can hit hi..

AEW Rampage Results – September 3, 2021

Rampage Date: September 3, 2021 Location: Now Arena, Chicago, Illinois Commentators: Excalibur, Chris Jericho, Mark Henry, Taz It’s the go home show for All Out and the big deal is that CM Punk is here in Chicago again. They’re still at the point where it feels important even though it happened two days ago, and it isn’t like they’ll be in Chicago every week. Other than that, expect a lot of hype towards the pay per view. Let’s get to it. Opening sequence. Lee Johnson vs. Malakai Black Johnson grabs a headlock to start but gets shoved into the ropes. Said ropes are grabbed out of fear of Black Mass, with Jericho and Henry thinking pain is coming. Black continues to take his time before knocking Johnson into the corner as we take a break. Back with Johnson striking away to send Black outside. The big dive drops Black again and they head back inside so Johnson can hit a frog splash for two. Black kicks him in the head but would rather hammer away in the corner instead of covering. It..

AEW Rampage Results – August 27, 2021

Rampage Date: August 27, 2021 Location: UW-Milwaukee Panther Arena, Milwaukee, Wisconsin Commentators: Mark Henry, Taz, Excalibur, Chris Jericho We’re on to week #3 and they might have a bit of a hard time beating out last week’s show. Rampage has become a lot of fun in a hurry though as the hour run time is a great change of pace over the full two hours of Dynamite. I’m not sure how a taped show is going to work but I doubt it matters that much. Let’s get to it. Opening sequence. Tag Team Titles #1 Contenders Tournament Finals: Jurassic Express vs. Lucha Bros The winners get the Young Bucks, who come out to watch, at All Out. Jungle and Fenix run the ropes to start until Fenix gets onto the ropes for his nutty bouncing into an armdrag. Jungle isn’t sure what to do so it’s off to Luchasaurus vs. Penta. After taking a long time to take the glove off, Penta tries a charge at Luchasaurus and gets kicked in the head. Everyone gets knocked down for a breather as NBA Finals MVP Giannis An..

AEW Rampage Results – August 20, 2021 (First Dance)

Rampage Date: August 20, 2021 Location: United Center, Chicago, Illinois Commentators: Jim Ross, Mark Henry, Excalibur, Taz So this is a weird show as there is a big surprise, but everyone knows exactly what it is going to be. AEW has all but said what is going to happen here and that just leaves the question of how it goes down. There are a few ways to do that and I’m rather excited about what is going to happen. Let’s get to it. Opening sequence. The crowd is already changing for CM PUNK…..and here he is to open the show. Punk takes his time getting to the ring and is clearly shaken up by this. Punk even dives over the barricade into the crowd and hugs a lot of people at ringside. After a break, Punk says you know how to make a guy feel like Britt Baker in Pittsburgh. Punk says he’s winging this and while he can’t get to everything tonight, he has a lot of time on Wednesdays, Fridays and four Saturdays/Sundays a year. One important thing: if any of his decisions have ever made an..

AEW Rampage Results – August 13, 2021 (Debut Episode)

Rampage Date: April 13, 2021 Location: Petersen Events Center, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania Commentators: Excalibur, Chris Jericho, Mark Henry, Taz It’s the debut of the secondary show which is actually on television and not full of squashes. I’m not sure what this is going to mean for the company as a whole, but if they can put some stuff on here instead of cramming it all onto Dynamite, we could be in for something good. The card is pretty stacked tonight too so let’s get to it. Opening sequence. Impact Wrestling World Title: Kenny Omega vs. Christian Cage Omega, with Don Callis, is defending. They go with the feeling out process to start and Christian flips him off in the corner to start the mind games. It’s too early for both guys to hit their finisher and Omega bails to the floor for an early breather. Back in and Omega chops away but Christian knocks him to the apron for the dropkick back to the floor. Hold on though as Callis offers a distraction, allowing Omega to shove Christia..

Mark Henry Says WWE Threw A Grenade Into Locker Room

He might be onto something. The big story this week has been the latest batch of NXT releases. More than ten new names have been released from NXT and this time around they were announced during this week’s edition of SmackDown. That is the kind of thing that could shake things up in the locker room and a certain WWE legend has quite the take on the situation. During the latest edition of Busted Open Radio, WWE Hall of Famer Mark Henry discussed the releases, describing it as a grenade to the roster. Henry said that there have been so many releases that it might make wrestlers want to go somewhere else before WWE can release them. The releases made Henry feel that no one is safe in NXT and he did not understand why WWE would do this during SmackDown. There is no word on when the next releases could take place. Henry would know something about this. Check out the interview and some of his best moments in WWE: [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click..

VIDEO: Former WWE Star Makes Surprise AEW Debut

Yeah that works. There are all kinds of major wrestling stars in the industry today and several of them come from different parts of the world. That means you can get a lot of interesting combinations when some of them come together for a mixture of those styles. It seems that we are going to be seeing a different kind of style coming to one of the biggest promotions in the world. Andrade El Idolo, formerly known as Andrade in WWE, made his AEW debut during this week’s edition of Dynamite. Mark Henry was in the ring for an interview when Vickie Guerrero interrupted. Guerrero said that she had a big surprise and introduced El Idolo to the crowd. El Idolo said that he has been known as the face of Latinos but now he is here to be the face of All Elite Wrestling. El Idolo has wrestled all over the world, including extensively in Japan and Mexico. He also spent several years in WWE, wrestling under the names Andrade and Andrade Cien Almas. During his time with the company, he won both th..
