The Doctor Is Needed: Update On Britt Baker’s Injury Status

That could be worse. There are all kinds of injuries in wrestling and some of them are a lot more severe than others. You never know when you are going to see someone get hurt and put on the shelf for a long time. That is the kind of thing that can derail a lot of plans, but thankfully in this situation it seems that the injury is only going to cause a minor delay instead of a big change. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: He’s In For Now: Former WWE Star Set For AEW Debut This week, AEW announced that Britt Baker had suffered an undisclosed injury and would be pulled from her scheduled triple threat match along with Toni Storm and Ruby Soho. Baker did appear during the match, offering a distraction to Storm so Soho could pick up the win. According to Wrestling Observer Radio, Baker’s injury “wasn’t serious” and she should be returning to the ring soon. Baker could have wrestled this week but AEW erred on the side of caution and held her out instead. Baker is a star worth waiting on. Check out ..

The Delay Continues: AEW Wrestler Receives Bad Medical News

That’s never good to see. With so many wrestlers on the AEW roster, it can be difficult to keep track of what everyone is doing. There have been several names who have not been around for quite a while, which can raise the question of whether they will ever be back. One such star who has been gone for a very long time may not be around anytime soon due to an injury. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Could Be Awhile: Missing AEW Star Addresses Absence From Company AEW star Paige Van Zant has released a video on Instagram where she says her doctors believe she has broken three bones in her foot rather than the previously thought one. Van Zant is currently signed to AEW but has only wrestled once, winning in a six person match at Double Or Nothing in May and not appearing since. There is no word on when or if she will return to AEW TV. That’s not good. Check out the video, plus VanZant in AEW: [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] [This post conta..

The report also details that the former WWE Universal Champion is still traveling with WWE and his status for tonight’s SmackDown and other shows is unknown. Related: Kevin Owens Injured At WWE Live Event PWInsider is also claiming that Kevin Owens is scheduled for SmackDown for tonight and next week before Survivor Series. He’ll most likely be doing promo segments and maybe a scuffle leading to ..

Mick Foley Opens Up On Health Issues From His Career

That is never something you want to hear. There are all kinds of injuries and health issues that can cause serious problems for wrestlers. Some of them take place all at once, but there are others that are built up over time and last long into a wrestler’s retirement. Certain legends have opened up about their issues and now another is telling us what happened to him at an important point in his career. During a recent edition of his Foley Is Pod podcast, WWE Hall Of Famer Mick Foley talked about his return to WWE back in 2012. Around the time he was going back, Foley saw a doctor about his health issues. In addition to neurological issues, Foley had severe issues with his back. This included problems with five different discs, which have caused his spine to curve. The issue has caused Foley to be in pain and also to lose height. There is nothing to suggest that the problem can be solved through surgery or other means. Opinion: You could tell that Foley was in pain just by looking at..

Hangman Adam Page Seriously Injured on AEW Dynamite

You hate to see it. The main event of tonight’s episode of AEW Dynamite featured Jon Moxley defending the World Heavyweight Championship against Hangman Adam Page. Unfortunately, the match had to be stopped due to a serious injury suffered by Page during the match. Page landed on his head after a spot in which he took a lariat from Moxley. As soon as Page hit the ground, his body seemed to go limp and he wasn’t able to move. The referee and ringside doctor, Doc Sampson made the decision to stop the match with about 10 minutes remaining on the show. During a commercial break, several officials took down the ropes in order to take out Page on a stretcher. You can see a clip of that below: They are literally taking the ropes down to take hangman Adam page out of the ring on a stretcher. #AEWDynamite pic.twitter.com/9hwcUQSAuK — Marshall Lloyd ? Longtime WWE Name Gone From Company After 14 Year Tenure

He was a big deal. There are all kinds of people who work together to make WWE programming a success. While the wrestlers are the ones who get the most attention, several other people are there to make the show come together as well. Some of these people will almost never get any recognition and now one of them is departing the company after a long time. According to PWInsider.com, Dr. Chris Amann has left WWE after fourteen years with the company. Amann reportedly gave notice earlier this year and wrapped up his time with WWE earlier this month. Amann is most well known as the doctor who sued CM Punk and Colt Cabana over their comments about his work on Cabana’s podcast. In addition, he also helped establish the WWE Wellness Policy. Opinion: This is the kind of thing that might not seem like a big deal but Amann has been around the company for a very long time now. It is going to mean something to see him gone, even if there will be another fully qualified doctor in his place soon. ..

Wrestling Legend Reveals He Occasionally Needs A Wheelchair Due To Health Issues

That’s a horrible way to go. Wrestlers are quite the athletes and you see them getting in the ring week in and week out, putting all kinds of miles on their body. At some point that is going to cause some problems for everyone involved and there is not much of a way around it. That is the case for a wrestling legend, who is having some serious health issues in his retirement. During a recent edition of Busted Open Radio, WWE Hall Of Famer Mark Henry and AEW broadcaster Mark Henry revealed that he is not able to wrestle anymore due to nerve damage in his back. As a result of the nerve damage in his sacroiliac joint, Henry has had to occasionally take a wheelchair through the airport. While Henry’s doctor has told him that the issue could be fixed through surgery, Henry should wait until he can no longer walk and use surgery as his last resort. Opinion: That is never good to hear and it is sad to think of Henry, who was known for being such a big and strong wrestler, reduced to somethi..

Call It A Win: Medical Update On Ric Flair Following His Last Match

That could have been worse. There are legends in wrestling and then there are people like Ric Flair. After a career that has spanned the better part of fifty years, Flair was finally ready to hang it up after this weekend’s appropriately titled Ric Flair’s Last Match event. Flair has been training for months, but there is only so much that can be done at 73 years old. The match has taken place, and now we know a bit about how he is doing. Flair teamed with Andrade El Idolo to defeat Jay Lethal and Jeff Jarrett in his final match, which saw him busted open. According to PWInsider.com, Flair was immediately checked out by two doctors backstage and was said to be “great” after the match. Flair also said that he was starving and wanted to get something to eat as he headed out on the town for the evening. Opinion: As disturbing as it is, Flair’s health was the thing people were talking about the most coming into the match so hearing that he is ok is great to see. At the same time, Flair g..

Big E Is Unsure If He Will Ever Wrestle Again

WWE superstar Big E was recently interviewed by Ariel Helwani on The MMA Hour, discussing his future in the ring. He gave an update on his condition and if he will ever return to the ring again: “That [whether he thinks he’ll ever wrestle again] I’m unsure of. I’ve also talked to a couple doctors who told me, ‘Hey, if you break this again, it could be even worse. It could be even more catastrophic,’ and these are spine specialists. “But now at 36, after working through a lot of those things, after being mentally healthier. Man, this job has allowed me to meet so many different people from so many walks of life and have so many different experiences, and now — I don’t know, man. I think of life after 36, and I see so many of the guys I grew up watching in wrestling. I think too of the athletes that I love who participated in MMA, or were boxers and you see them at 50, and you see their body ravaged. And that’s not the life that I want. “My hope is — I feel great now. And I’m grateful..

NXT Results – July 26, 2022

NXT Date: July 26, 2022 Location: Capitol Wrestling Center, Orlando, Florida Commentators: Wade Barrett, Vic Joseph It’s the first show of the new regime and I’m not sure how much of a difference that is going to make. NXT seems a bit more planned out that Raw and Smackdown so it might be a little while before the impact takes hold. Maybe they have a few surprises or at least ideas this week though so let’s get to it. Here is the recently returned Zoey Stark for a chat. She is REALLY happy to be back and talks about being on the shelf since October after tearing her ACL and MCL. The doctors told her it would be over a year before she could return, but she worked in that trainer’s room so hard and beat the expectations by four months. Now she is the #1 contender for the Women’s Title and only has Toxic Attraction standing in her way. Cue Cora Jade on the platform to say she is already sick of Stark. Jade was ready to be champion but Stark had to take HER MOMENT, just like Roxanne Per..

Ouch: Nasty Injury Takes Place During AEW Dynamite Main Event

It’s the nature of the match. There are a lot of match types in wrestling and some of them are a lot more violent than others. Some of those matches are designed to be as violent as possible, particularly in matches between people who can’t stand each other. It can make for some serious violence, which is on top of the inherent danger of wrestling. That was the case again this week. The main event of this week’s AEW Dynamite saw Chris Jericho defeat Eddie Kingston in a barbed wire match. The match saw barbed wire around the ring with both wrestlers using it throughout the match. Jericho has since taken to Twitter and revealed that he suffered a broken nose during the match, though it is not clear when in the match it happened. There is nothing to suggest that Jericho will be missing any ring time. Just left the doctors office. It’s official….that SAVAGE @MadKing1981 broke my nose last night. #barbwireeverywhere @AEW pic.twitter.com/1TVUxjUVZx — Chris Jericho (@IAmJericho) July 21, 2..

WATCH: Police Officers Draw Weapons On Jeff Hardy During Arrest

That’s a rough one to watch. While he is certainly a very talented wrestler, Jeff Hardy also has some issues outside the ring. Unfortunately some of these are legal issues which have caused him several problems over the years. The problems have flared up again this week, and now we can see just how bad things got, even in a situation that was already bad in the first place. Earlier this week, Hardy was arrested on charges of driving under the influence and other issues. Since then, TMZ have released the dashboard video from the police car, showing three police officers pulling their guns on Hardy for not obeying their orders to exit his car. The officers then remove Hardy from the car and have him sit down, where they interview him about his driving. Hardy said that he was on his way to the doctor for a “brain scan”, which he could not explain. The video ends with Hardy undergoing field sobriety tests and being handcuffed. Hardy has since been suspended from AEW as a result of the arr..

Here’s Why Thunder Rosa Did Not Appear This Week On AEW Dynamite

It is a problem that can happen. AEW has come a long way in just about three years, with a very talented roster helping bring them a long way. That is the kind of thing that any promotion would love to have and AEW has made the most of it. However, there are always going to be some bumps in the road and that was the case this week with one of its more prominent stars. AEW Women’s World Champion Thunder Rosa did not appear on this week’s edition of AEW Dynamite. According to PWInsider.com, Rosa was backstage at this week’s show but was said to not be feeling well. The company doctor ultimately sent her home to rest rather than having her appear. There is no word on what was planned for Rosa had she been on the show. Rosa retained her title over Serena Deeb on Sunday at Double Or Nothing. Opinion: Hopefully everyone is fine here as you do not know how long Rosa might be out of action. There is always the chance that she will be fine all over again next week and nothing comes of this, w..

Ouch: NXT Star Injured, Out 6-8 Weeks

That could be worse. There are all kinds of injuries that could keep someone out of action. One of the worst parts about an injury is waiting to see how long the injury is going to put them on the shelf. It could be anywhere from a few days to several months or anywhere in the middle. That was the case again recently, as another wrestler is on the shelf for a little while. This week on NXT, Brooks Jensen was examined by a doctor about an arm injury suffered at the hands of Von Wagner. As a result, Jensen will be out of action for six to eight weeks, though the doctor had said that Jensen could have been out of action as long as ten to twelve weeks. There is no word on if the injury is legitimate or just part of the storyline between Jensen and Wagner. Opinion: That could be worse, though I’m not sure how long Josh Briggs is going to be able to hang on his own. The team isn’t exactly red hot in the first place but they were figuring out something with Fallon Henley involved. Hopefully..

Big E. Reveals That His Neck Injury Could Have Been Much Worse

That could have been a lot worse. Injuries in wrestling can happen at any time and they can be nothing short of devastating. What seems to be something simple and not that bad can wind up being horrible as well. That wound up being the case last week when someone got hurt in the blink of an eye. As it turns out though, things could have been a lot worse than they wound up being. Last week on SmackDown, Big E. suffered a neck injury when he fractured two vertebrae after landing on his head on the floor during a match. Big E. has made a post on Twitter, saying that he had his first doctor’s appointment, where he was told that he narrowly escaped a stroke, paralysis, or death because of the fracture. As a result, Big E. said that life feels more precious and valuable now. There is no word on when Big E. will return to the ring, or if he will ever be able to do so. [This post contains video, click to play] Opinion: Anything that involves not having a stroke, being paralyzed or dying is ..

WWE Hall Of Famer Undergoes Spinal Surgery, Can Never Wrestle Again

That might be for the best. One of the major criticisms you will hear against wrestlers is that what they do is fake. While it is true that the results of the matches are pre-planned, what you see taking place in the ring is very real, as these people are putting their bodies on the line on a regular basis. That kind of work can wear on wrestlers after a bit and now one of them has had to get a lot of work done to repair the damage. WWE Hall of Famer D-Von Dudley has revealed that he underwent spinal fusion surgery to repair damage to his back. The damage was caused by years of wrestling and was said to be worse than the doctors originally believed. As a result, Dudley will never be able to wrestle again, though he had no plans to do so. There is no word on when Dudley will return to his position as a WWE producer. View this post on Instagram A post shared by D-VON DUDLEY (@testifydvon) Opinion: It’s great to hear that Dudley is doing better as a spinal injury is not something to me..

Final Elimination Chamber Entrant Revealed With Surprise Return

She’s in. We are less than a week away from WWE’s latest Elimination Chamber event and that means the show will be built around the show’s namesake matches. This year will feature both a men’s and women’s match, with the latter being for a shot at the Raw Women’s Title at WrestleMania 38. That means the bigger names are going to be involved and now we know the match’s final entrant. Over the last several weeks, a series of vignettes showing Alexa Bliss in therapy on Monday Night Raw. This week’s show featured the final therapy session, with Bliss being released from the doctor’s care. As she was leaving, Bliss said that she would be the final entrant in the women’s Elimination Chamber match. Bliss joins Rhea Ripley, Nikki Ash, Doudrop, Liv Morgan and Bianca Belair in the match. This will be Bliss’ first match since her loss to Charlotte at Extreme Rules in September 2021. Opinion: This is one of the many directions that they could have gone, but one of the best things about the retur..

Did they get a doctor’s note? The wrestling world is currently being rocked by the Coronavirus pandemic and there is no reason to believe that it is going to be getting much better in the near future. There have been cases throughout WWE and there is no reason to believe that it is going to get any better anytime soon. It has already caused WWE to take some cautions, and now we know a bit more about what happened this week. Nikki Bella Reveals Sad News About Her Wrestling Future

Never again? Wrestlers are a weird breed when it comes to athletics. While almost every other professional athlete has a pretty standard maximum age for retirement, wrestlers are able to jump back into the ring for a one off match here and there, even a long time after they retire. That is what happens with a lot of them, but one prominent name will not be able to do so. Nikki Bella appeared on Arian Andrew’s Sippin’ the Tea podcast and revealed that she is currently considered “on the retired bench for life.” While Bella would like to return to the ring for her son to see her wrestle one day, her doctors have not currently cleared her to do so. Despite her status, Bella said that she is happy with her life now and would be fine waiting to wrestle again. Bella was forced to retire due to various neck injuries and last wrestled at a WWE live event in November 2018. She certainly had a successful career. Check out the show and Bella in the ring: [This post contains video, click to pla..

VIDEO: Impact Wrestling Star Out 12 Weeks With Broken Orbital Bone

That’s never good. Injuries are something that can happen to any wrestler at any given time. Some of them are a lot worse than others and that can make for some terrible situations. What seems like a rather light or mild injury can be something a lot more serious, which seems likely to be the case again with a current popular Impact Wrestling star. This week on Impact Wrestling, the company’s doctor announced that Matt Cardona, formerly known as Zack Ryder in WWE, will be out of action for about twelve weeks due to a broken orbital bone. The injury took place the previous week when Brian Myers sent Cardona face first into a camera. It is not clear if this is an angle or a legitimate injury which will keep Cardona out of the ring.
