Pro Wrestling News In His Leg, Cancels Appearance Due To Health Concerns, Ric Flair Reveals Blood Clot

WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair has exposed that he is dealing with a blood clot in his leg, prompting doctors to restrict his travel and forcing him to cancel an upcoming appearance in Seattle.

The 77-year-long-time wrestling legend broke the news the news in a statement on X, explaining that he would no longer be attending Washington State Horror Con because of medical advice concerning his condition.

Flair noted his doctors have limited his travel to three or four hours, preventing him from making the trip to Seattle. “I want to sincerely apologize to my agent, Steve Solomon, Washington State Horror Con — Large Spectacular NY. In particular all my enthusiasts in Seattle for having to cancel my lined up appearance,” Flair wrote. “Unfortunately, I am dealing with a blood clot in my leg, and my doctors have limited my travel to 3–4 hours. Seattle falls outside that range, and as disappointed as I am, I have to put my health and recovery inaugural.”

Flair also disclosed that he is preparing to undergo a procedure involving the affected vein — which he hopes will eventually allow him to resume traveling without the ongoing restrictions. “I’m set to have a procedure to strip the affected vein, which my doctors expect will allow me to be cleared for more travel afterward,” Flair continued. “Please know this decision was not made lightly. What's more, i am truly sorry for the inconvenience and disappointment, and I am incredibly grateful for your patience, understanding, and continued support.”

Blood clots can cause serious medical complications, making appropriate treatment and medical supervision particularly important.

Despite the setback, the two-time WWE Hall of Famer expressed optimism about his recovery and thanked wrestling community for their continued encouragement. “I look forward to getting healthy and seeing you all down the road. Equally important, thank you for the love and support.”

Flair did not provide a specific date for the planned medical procedure or indicate when he expects to receive clearance for longer-distance travel.

For now, the wrestling legend is prioritizing his treatment and recovery, with his Seattle appearance canceled on medical advice.
