That does make sense. Titles are some of the most important parts of any wrestling promotion. They can drive any storyline and identify the wrestlers that the promotion wants to present. A title changing hands can make a huge difference for both a wrestler and the company as a whole, but it can mean even more when one of them goes away. One of the top WWE stars is now explaining why that is a bad thing. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: WATCH: Naomi And Mercedes Mone Appear Together In New Advertisement SmackDown Women’s Champion Charlotte was interviewed by the Daytona Beach News-Journal and talked about the possibility of unifying the Raw and SmackDown Women’s Titles. Charlotte said that she was not in favor of unifying the titles, as while it can be special for one woman to have both titles at once, it takes away opportunities for the women. Charlotte is currently scheduled to defend her title against Rhea Ripley at WrestleMania 39. There have been some big title unifications. Check out som..
Rampage Date: February 3, 2023 Location: Nutter Center, Dayton, Ohio Commentators: Chris Jericho, Jim Ross, Tony Schiavone, Excalibur Rampage continues to be a bit all over the place as you know most of the card/lineup in advance but it still feels like a show that could go in a bunch of different directions. That could be the case again this week as there is some star power with the Elite around to defend the Trios Titles. Let’s get to it. Opening sequence. Trios Titles: Elite vs. Isiah Kassidy/Matt Hardy/Ethan Page The Elite is defending and for the sake of simplicity, Matt Hardy will be referred to as Hardy and Matt Jackson will be referred to as Matt. Nick Jackson and Kassidy trade some flips and takedowns to start before Matt comes in to take over. Kassidy gets over to Hardy for the tag, so Omega gets the overly dramatic tag. Hardy sends Omega outside and goes up but Page tags himself in to take over instead. Omega snaps off a hurricanrana and it’s the Bucks coming back in for..
Dynamite Date: February 1, 2023 Location: Nutter Center, Dayton, Ohio Commentators: Excalibur, Tony Schiavone, Taz We are about a month away from Revolution and that means it is time to start hammering down the card. You can probably guess a good bit of it from here and that is a strong sign for the show. This week will feature a pair of title matches, including Jade Cargill’s latest conquest and Samoa Joe getting his rematch for the TNT Title. Let’s get to it. Opening sequence. Jon Moxley vs. Hangman Page Moxley comes through the crowd with Wheeler Yuta and….his own father. Moxley starts the fight in the crowd and takes it into the audience as we are waiting on the opening bell. Page gets in a whip into a barricade and they keep brawling back to ringside. Moxley wraps the chair around Page’s leg but Page throws said chair at Moxley to take over. They finally get in the ring and slug it out, with Moxley’s eye busted open. Moxley is fine enough to grab an armbar but Page is back up ..
She’s not happy. There are certain wrestlers who are better as villains that heroes and the key is figuring that out. Finding the right balance and standing for a wrestler is one of the most complicated yet also important things that a promotion can do. Now WWE has managed to get it right with one of its top stars, which was on display after a match over the weekend. This weekend, WWE presented a Saturday Night’s Main Event show in Dayton, Ohio. The show featured Ronda Rousey successfully defending her SmackDown Women’s Title against Liv Morgan in an Extreme Rules match. Following the match, Rousey ripped up a fan’s sign in praise of Morgan and then stormed off. Rousey defeated Morgan in an Extreme Rules match to win the title at the event of the same name. She wasn’t pleased. Check out Rousey going after the fan’s sign: [This post contains video, click to play] Opinion: This is the kind of villainy that will always work. You have someone the fans want to see lose get in the face o..
Welcome to KB’s Old School (and New School) Reviews. I’ve been reviewing wrestling shows for over twelve years now and have reviewed over 6,000 shows. Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, I’ll be posting a new review here on Wrestlingrumors.net. It could be anything from modern WWE to old school to indies to anything in between. Note that I rate using letters instead of stars and I don’t rate matches under three minutes as really, how good or bad can something that short be? Bash at the Beach 2000 Date: July 9, 2000 Location: Ocean Center, Daytona Beach, Florida Attendance: 6,572 Commentators: Tony Schiavone, Scott Hudson, Mark Madden Oh boy. After all those nice weeks of no Russo and/or Bischoff to screw things up, tonight we’re back to the old ways because this wrestling and storytelling stuff must be stopped at all costs. It’s a double main event of Goldberg vs. Kevin Nash for Scott Hall’s contract and Hulk Hogan challenging Jeff Jarrett for the World Title. Let’s get to it. Cat s..

Bash at the Beach 1997 Date: July 13, 1997 Location: Ocean Center, Daytona Beach, Florida Attendance: 7,851 Commentators: Tony Schiavone, Bobby Heenan, Dusty Rhodes It’s 1997 and the unofficial anniversary of the NWO being formed. This was in that weird period for WCW as everything was setting up for Sting vs. Hogan, but at the same time it took forever to get there because we waited 9 months between Sting’s moment of showing he was WCW and the actual match. The main event here is Luger/Giant vs. Hogan/Rodman. As ..
Welcome to KB’s Old School (and New School) Reviews. I’ve been reviewing wrestling shows for over ten years now and have reviewed over 5,000 shows. Note that I rate using letters instead of stars and I don’t rate matches under three minutes as really, how good or bad can something that short be? Bash at the Beach 1996 Date: July 7, 1996 Location: Ocean Center, Daytona Beach, Florida Attendance: 8,300 Commentators: Bobby Heenan, Tony Schiavone, Dusty Rhodes This is one of the first non-WWE reviews I ever did so it is LONG overdue for a second try. I’m pretty sure you know this one, as it is built around the question of who is the third man. The Outsiders arrived about a month and a half ago and are now ready for their first match, but they need a partner. Now who is that going to be? Let’s get to it. I do mi..
205 Live Date: March 12, 2019 Location: Nutter Center, Dayton, Ohio Commentators: Vic Joseph, Nigel McGuinness, Aiden English The tournament season continues around here with the final four of the Cruiserweight Title #1 Contender tournament. In this case, there aren’t exactly a ton of great options but that’s the case with a lot of the title scene at the moment. Cedric Alexander is probably the favorite to win the whole thing, as tends to be the case, but bigger surprises have happened before. Let’s get to it. We open with Drew Gulak for a change. He loves tournament semifinals because it’s where you separate the men from the boys. In other words, it’s the round where Tony Nese collapses under the pressure. Drew owns him and tonight will be no different. Nese knows that Gulak is different than anyone else on the roster because Gulak will dissect every mistake that Nese makes. His focus is his best asset and Gulak knows nothing about him. Oney Lorcan says this is all business and he..
<p>After Tuesday’s episode of SmackDown & 205 Live went off the air in Dayton, Ohio, <strong><a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/wrestler/randy-orton" title="Randy Orton">Randy Orton</a></strong> was in action against WWE Champion Jinder <strong><a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/tag/mahal/" title="Mahal">Mahal</a></strong>. <p>PWInsider reports that <strong><a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/wrestler/rusev" title="Rusev">Rusev</a></strong> is backstage for tonight’s SmackDown taping in Dayton, Ohio.</p><p>While the the website <a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/2017/06/17/rusev-returning-smackdown-next-week/">claimed over the weekend</a> that he would be returning to WWE television, they can no longer confirm those are the plans.</p><p>Considering that the SmackDown brand just had a pay-per-view on Sunday, many would suggest that the chances of him returning are very high. WWE normally kicks off or follows up to feuds after most pay-per-view events, so now would be the time for Rusev to inject himself into some sort of storyline.</p><p>Rusev had been out since March following shoulder surgery and was recently cleared to return to action.</p>
<p>We noted earlier today that <a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/2017/06/19/kevin-owens-hurt-sundays-money-bank/">Kevin Owens apparently got hurt</a> during the Money in the Bank Ladder Match and was helped to the back following the bout.</p><p>In an update, Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that he is fine and there is nothing serious <strong><a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/tag/wrong/" title="wrong">wrong</a></strong> with him. <strong><a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/tag/owens/" title="Owens">Owens</a></strong> is still scheduled to work this week’s SmackDown Live event in Dayton, Ohio.</p>
