Double Special: WWE Legend Returns To Help Crown New Champions On Monday Night Raw

And NEW! Title changes can mean the world for a championship as it can breathe new life into the title’s status. Occasionally something just needs to be changed and that can make for a big moment. It can be even more impressive when someone special is involved in the titles changing hands. Both things were true this week, as a legend was involved in helping make another legend a champion. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: WRESTLING RUMORS: WWE “Loves” This Superstar Backstage, Possible Future World Champion The main event of this week’s Monday Night Raw saw Lita and Becky Lynch defeat Damage Ctrl to win the WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles. Late in the match, Bayley interfered on Damage Ctrl’s behalf, prompting WWE Hall Of Famer Trish Stratus to run to the ring and help take Bayley out. The win makes the first Women’s Tag Team Title reign for either Lita or Lynch. It was a cool moment. AEW Rampage Results – February 17, 2023

Rampage Date: February 17, 2023 Location: Saves Auto Arena, Laredo, Texas Commentators: Jim Ross, Chris Jericho, Tony Schiavone, Excalibur It’s a special show this week with the show on at 7pm instead of the usual 10pm due to the NBA coverage. Therefore the show is call Slam Dunk as AEW stacks the card because it might be able to draw a good bit more fans this week. Hopefully that is the case as Rampage hasn’t felt important in a few weeks now. Let’s get to it. Opening sequence. Trios Titles: Elite vs. AR Fox/Top Flight The Elite is defending and since this is Slam Dunk, there are a lot basketballs as props. Dante and Nick start things off by throwing a basketball at each other. Nick hits Matt in the face with the ball by mistake though and the champs are kicked out to the floor early on. Fox dives onto all of them in a pair of dives and then adds a third with a basketball. Back in and Omega grabs a headlock before running Fox over with a shoulder. The basketball comes back in and ..

SmackDown Results – December 16, 2022

Smackdown Date: December 16, 2022 Location: Allstate Arena, Rosemont, Illinois Commentators: Wade Barrett, Michael Cole We are just over a month away from the Royal Rumble and it’s time for a pretty big title match on the way there. This week will see Gunther defend the Intercontinental Title against World Cup winner Ricochet, which should make for a solid main event. Other than that, Roman Reigns is here so let’s get to it. The Usos and Sami Zayn arrive. Opening sequence. Women’s Tag Team Titles: Damage Ctrl vs. Liv Morgan/Tegan Nox Damage Ctrl, with Bayley, is defending. Nox takes over on Sky to start and hits a gordbuster, setting up a double suplex for a near fall. Morgan comes in and knocks Sky to the floor, where she gives chase with the kendo stick. Both champs are sent outside for the big dive from Nox and we take a break. Back with Nox having to fight out of trouble and handing it off to Morgan to pick up the pace. Morgan nips up out of the corner but gets caught in a dou..

SmackDown Results – December 9, 2022

Smackdown Date: December 9, 2022 Location: PPG Paints Arena, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania Commentators: Michael Cole, Wade Barrett We’re coming up on the end of the year and that means the Royal Rumble is still pretty far away. This time around we have a Tag Team Title match as the Brawling Brutes challenge the Usos, which should be a good fight. Other than that, it’s time to get ready for next week’s Intercontinental Title match so let’s get to it. Tag Team Titles: Usos vs. Brawling Brutes The Brutes (Sheamus/Butch with Ridge Holland) are challenging while Sami Zayn and Solo Sikoa are here with the champs. Sheamus headlock takeovers Jimmy down to start and then blasts him with a clothesline. Butch comes in and gets taken into the corner for a throat first drop across the top as we take a break. Back with Butch still in trouble but managing a German suplex off the ropes. That’s enough for the tag off to Sheamus for the house cleaning. We get the stereo multiple forearms to the chest, wi..

AEW Rampage Results – October 21, 2022

Rampage Date: October 21, 2022 Location: Daily’s Place, Jacksonville, Florida Commentators: Jim Ross, Tony Schiavone, Excalibur We’re live this week and not taped after Dynamite for a change. We’re also back in the old stomping grounds of Jacksonville and the card happens to be stacked with three title matches in an hour. That should be enough to carry the show, though Rampage has a bad tendency to underwhelm. Let’s get to it. Opening sequence. Tag Team Titles: Acclaimed vs. Varsity Athletes The Acclaimed is defending and it’s titles vs. the SCISSOR ME trademark. The Athletes tease an early scissoring and get jumped from behind, only to send the champs outside. Back in and the Acclaimed break up some more scissoring and a powerslam plants Woods. Caster gets knocked outside, where Billy Gunn chases Tony Nese around. That’s enough for a Gunn ejection, much to Sterling’s delight. We take a break and come back with Bowens getting the tag to come in and clean house. Everything breaks do..

Ouch: Champions Forced To Vacate Titles Due To Injury, New Champions Crowned

History has been made, twice! There are a lot of titles under the WWE banner but some of them are not the most well known. With so many wrestlers spread across so many shows, it is not easy to build up every championship there is. This time though, some of the titles had to be vacated due to an injury, but now we have some new champions to keep the titles going. Ashton Smith and Oliver Carter vacated the NXT UK Tag Team Titles this week as Smith has ruptured his MCL and will require surgery. As a result, a fatal four way match was held this week, with Josh Briggs and Brooks Jensen winning the titles by defeating Mark Andrews/Wild Boar, Dave Mastiff/Jack Starz and Die Familie. Briggs and Jensen had been vying for a title shot before the match was made. Opinion: This is the kind of thing that has to be done every now and then and that is still not a good thing. At the end of the day, the champs were injured and someone needed to take their spot. Brooks and Jensen have some more star po..

Two Names Removed From AEW Dynamite Match For Unknown Reasons

Not so fast. AEW has done quite a few things well in its just over three years of existence. One of their best things has been its pay per view events. The events are the most important for AEW as the company gets to showcase their biggest stars and matches. Those shows have to be followed up though, and now one of the followups will be a bit different than advertised. Following this weekend’s Double Or Nothing event, AEW announced that a ten man tag team match would take place this week on Dynamite. The match would see the Undisputed Elite face Jurassic Express/Christian Cage/Hardys. However, AEW has since updated the announcement and turned it into an eight man tag, with Jeff Hardy and Adam Cole removed from the match. There is no word on why the changes were made. See the fallout from #AEWDoN as a huge 8-man tag match is set for #AEWDynamite THIS WEDNESDAY at 8/7c LIVE on TBS, as #AEW World Tag Team Champs @boy_myth_legend/@luchasaurus team w/ @Christian4Peeps/@MATTHARDYBRAND to f..

NXT Results – May 10, 2022

NXT Date: May 10, 2022 Location: Capitol Wrestling Center, Orlando, Florida Commentators: Wade Barrett, Vic Joseph While things should have changed last week with NXT Champion Bron Breakker beating Joe Gacy at Spring Breakin, Gacy’s minions beat Breakker down and kidnapped him. Since wins and losses don’t matter around here, Gacy vs. Breakker continues while the women’s Breakout Tournament begins. Let’s get to it. We open with a recap of last week’s title match, plus the post show beatdown and Gacy and Company taking Breakker into a field with a sack of his head. They seem to leave him there as Gacy is all nutty. Women’s Tag Team Titles: Toxic Attraction vs. Roxanne Perez/Wendy Choo Toxic Attraction is defending. Choo dives in off the top from behind to take the champs down and it’s Perez starting with Jayne. That’s fine with the champ as Perez gets sent into the corner, allowing Jayne to grab a headlock to keep her in trouble Jayne makes the mistake of talking too much trash thoug..

NXT UK Results – February 3, 2022

NXT UK Date: February 3, 2022 Location: BT Sports Studios, London, England Commentators: Andy Shepherd, Nigel McGuinness It’s the second title week in a row around here as we follow up last week’s United Kingdom Title match with a Women’s Title match as Meiko Satomura defends against Blair Davenport. At the same time, we have the finals of the #1 contenders tag team tournament, which could be a good one. I continue to have high hopes for this show and that isn’t something you get to say very often these days. Let’s get to it. We open with a look at the Japanese street fight between Meiko Satomura and Blair Davenport. Opening sequence. Jack Starz/Dave Mastiff vs. Oliver Carter/Ashton Smith The winners get a future Tag Team Title shot at Moustache Mountain, who is on commentary. Carter works on Starz’s wrist but can’t get very far as Starz takes him to the mat. An armdrag into an armbar works a bit better on Starz as Nigel tries to drive some tensions among the champs over the Herita..

There It Goes Again: Title Change Takes Place On Monday Night Raw

History has been made! Titles are the main focal point of almost any wrestling company as they are such an easy concept to present. Wrestlers are going to go after championships for the sake of either money, pride or power, making them the most valuable prize in the promotion. That makes title changes mean so much, which was the case again this week when some gold changed hands. This week’s Monday Night Raw saw Alpha Academy defeating RKBro to win the Raw Tag Team Titles. The win came after Alpha Academy defeated RKBro in a non-title match last week to earn the title match. Alpha Academy’s win gives Otis his first title in WWE, while Chad Gable is now a three time Tag Team Champion on the main roster. The loss ends RKBro’s reign after 142 days, having won the titles at Summerslam. It was a big night. Check out the title change, the new champs’ celebration, and RKBro’s time with the gold: [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] [This po..

WATCH: Major Title Change Takes Place On AEW Dynamite

History has been made! AEW has not been around all that long but it already has quite the history under its belt so far. They have done a lot of things right in different places throughout the company, including their championships. The company has done a good job of protecting their titles by not having them change hands very often. Now though, it has taken place again. This week’s AEW Dynamite featured three title matches over the course of the two hour show. In the main event, the Jurassic Express defeated the Lucha Bros to win the AEW Tag Team Titles for the first time. The win came when Jungle Boy countered Penta El Zero Miedo’s Made In Japan into a cradle for the pin. This is the first time that the titles have changed hands on a regular version of Dynamite, though Kenny Omega and Hangman’s Page’s win aired on Dynamite after being taped on Chris Jericho’s Rock N Rager At Sea. It was a big moment. Check out what happened, plus the new champs in action: [This post contains video..

One For Two: WWE Announces Plans For Unified Titles

Its name shall be revered. Titles are one of the easiest concepts in all of wrestling, as anyone can get the idea in a hurry. One wrestler has a championship, often represented by a big shiny belt, and others want to take it away. That story can be told in all kinds of ways but ultimately it comes down to wanting the prestigious honor. Now we know what the newest one is going to be called. Next week at NXT New Year’s Evil, North American Champion Carmelo Hayes will face Cruiserweight Champion Roderick Strong in a title unification match. WWE has posted a preview of the match, asking who will walk out as NXT North American Champion? This comes as Joe Gacy has been campaigning for the end of the Cruiserweight name, citing its unfairness to heavier wrestlers. This could be a great one. Check out the champs in action and face to face: [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] Opinion: This is about..

AEW Rampage Results – December 10, 2021

Rampage Date: December 10, 2021 Location: UBS Arena, New York City, New York Commentators: Excalibur, Taz We’re still in New York and this time there is a pretty big match on the card, as the Lucha Bros are defending the Tag Team Titles against FTR. Other than that, we have the in-ring debut as Hook, which should be a heck of a moment in its own right. This show tends to do well with the faster pace so let’s get to it. Opening sequence. Tag Team Titles: Lucha Bros vs. FTR FTR, with Tully Blanchard, is defending. Fenix grabs Harwood by the wrist to start and takes Wheeler down at the same time. Penta comes in to help take FTR down and it’s time for a breather on the floor. Back in and Penta takes off his glove but manages to roll Wheeler up for two. Now the glove is tossed to Wheeler, allowing Penta to catch him with a superkick. Fenix springboards in with a high crossbody but the momentum sends him outside. That means Harwood can drop Fenix back first onto the apron and the champs ..

History Has Been Made! Title Change Takes Place Thursday Afternoon

History has been made! Titles are the main storytelling device in all of wrestling because they are a simple concept. Give someone a shiny championship belt and have other wrestlers try to take it. That is one of those ideas that any fan can understand in a hurry and it makes title changes mean that much more. That was on display this week as some titles changed hands. This week on NXT UK, Moustache Mountain defeated Pretty Deadly to become the new NXT UK Tag Team Champions. The win marks the first title reign for Moustache Mountain and makes them the only team to win both the NXT Tag Team Titles and NXT UK Tag Team Titles. Pretty Deadly had held the titles for 288 days, winning them on the February 25 edition of NXT UK. This is a big deal. Check out the title match, the post win comments and some of the champs’ time stateside: [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] Opinion: This is a title ..

New Tournament Kicks Off This Week On Monday Night Raw

Get your brackets ready. Tournaments are a pretty simple concept in wrestling as you get to put a bunch of wrestlers together and see which one is the last standing. That can make for some interesting combinations and matches, as you get to have a bunch of wrestlers competing for a prize. That is the case again this week, as WWE now has a new tournament in the process. This week’s Monday Night Raw featured the first round of the RKBronament, a four team tag team tournament to crown new #1 contenders. The tournament was put together by RKBro, who are looking for new challengers. During the first round, the Street Profits defeated AJ Style/Omos and the Mysterios defeated American Alpha. The finals will take place next week on Monday Night Raw. It was a busy night. Check out how things went so far and the champs in action: [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] Opinion: This should work out wel..

Hand Them Over: Title Change Takes Place On Monday Night Raw

History has been made! There is something special about seeing a title change. It means that we are in for something new, and that is the kind of feeling that you do not get to see very often in wrestling. They happen more often than they used to as modern wrestling has more championships, and now another one of them has changed hands this week. Actually, two of them. The WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles changed hands during this week’s edition of Monday Night Raw. Queen Zelina and Carmella defeated Rhea Ripley and Nikki Ash to win the titles when Vega pinned Ripley. This marks the first title reign for either Vega and Carmella and in Vega’s case, her first championship in WWE. Ripley and Ash had held the titles for sixty three days. That’s a big title change. Check out the new champs how the new champs work together: [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] Opinion: This is a title change that mak..

Two New Matches Set For WWE Survivor Series

Two for the road. We are less than a week away from Survivor Series, which will be one of the most unique shows of the year. As has been the case for the last few years, the show will be built around the idea of Monday Night Raw vs. SmackDown in a battle for brand supremacy. That means the two shows will be going head to head, and now we know a bit more about how that will be going down. WWE has announced two more matches for the Survivor Series card. First, the Raw Tag Team Champions RKBro will face the SmackDown Tag Team Champions the Usos in a non-title match. Second, United States Champion Damian Priest will face Intercontinental Champion Shinsuke Nakamura in another non-title match. Survivor Series has seen matches between the brands’ tag team and secondary champions for several years in a row. These should be interesting. Check out what the champs are bringing to Survivor Series: [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] [This post..

Superstar Confirms Torn ACL, Already Undergone Surgery

That’s one of the bad ones. There are all kinds of injuries in the wrestling world but there are some that are absolutely horrible to hear about. You know them when they come up and the question becomes how long it is going to be before a wrestler can make it back to the ring. That is the case again, as an NXT star’s injury seems to be one of the worse you can have. NXT’s Zoey Stark has announced that she has suffered a torn ACL and has already undergone surgery to repair the damage. The injury took place during the ladder match at Halloween Havoc, though the storyline explanation was an attack by Toxic Attraction the following week on NXT. There is no word on how long Stark will be out of action as she undergoes rehabilitation. Sadly, I tore my ACL/Meniscus due to Toxic's attack. Here's the bad news for the "champs". Surgery went great and I'm already rehabbing. I'll be back BETTER & STRONGER with three targets in mind! Until then @shirai_io @KacyCatanzaro @wweka..

Ring Of Honor TV Results – October 20, 2021

Ring of Honor Date: October 20, 2021 Location: 2300 Arena, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania Commentators: Ian Riccaboni, Caprice Coleman We’re still in the post Death Before Dishonor TV taping and that means we still have no crowd. I know Ring of Honor likes to do their marathon tapings but isn’t there some way we could get some fans in there for a change? It has made a world of difference for everyone else and the fans not being there makes Ring of Honor seem like a promotion from another universe. Let’s get to it. Opening sequence. Quinn McKay (hey she’s back) welcomes us to the show and gives us the preview. Tag Team Titles: Soldiers of Savagery vs. Dragon Lee/Kenny King Lee and King are defending. The Soldiers jump them to start so the champs bail to the floor for an early breather. We settle down to Lee getting in Moses’ face for no effect. It’s the Soldiers being sent outside for a change and that means the champs get to hit the Tranquilo pose. Back in and Khan runs King over for t..
