Jay Briscoe: A Celebration Of Life Results

Jay Briscoe: A Celebration Of Life Date: January 26, 2023 Location: Save Mart Center, Fresno, California Commentators: Ian Riccaboni, Carpice Coleman As you might have guessed, this is a special show honoring the life of Jay Briscoe, who passed away last week. The show was filmed after last week’s AEW taping and features special matches, plus presumably tributes and maybe classic matches from Briscoe’s career. That should be more than enough so let’s get to it. We get the tribute video from this week’s Dynamite. Ring Of Honor Pure Rules Title: Hagane Shinno vs. Wheeler Yuta Yuta is defending under Pure Rules and Shinno is from Big Japan. They go with the grappling to start with Yuta working on a head/wristlock. Shinno shrugs that off and strikes away but gets caught with an Angle Slam for two. Yuta starts in on the leg and the cranking sends Shinno to the ropes for the first break. That’s fine with Yuta, who grabs a Gory Stretch to work on the back. Something like the Octopus sends..

The New Generation: Former WWE Superstar Reveals Scrapped Plans For New League Of Nations

They had an idea. Stables are a concept that has worked in wrestling for decades and continues to do so to this day. It makes a lot of sense as well, as a stable allows several people with anywhere from identical to even somewhat related goals a chance to be on television together. WWE has used them for years, but there was one reincarnation that they passed on instead. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: VIDEO: Kurt Angle’s Huge Birthday Celebration Continues After SmackDown Ends Back in 2015, a group of international stars joined forces as the League Of Nations. The team, comprised of Wade Barrett, Rusev, Sheamus and Alberto Del Rio, were a force in WWE until April 2016 when they split up for good. During an appearance on the 10 Count podcast, former WWE Superstar Mojo Rawley revealed that WWE had considered relaunching the League Of Nations with Cesaro, Shinsuke Nakamura and himself. Rawley did not say when this would have taken place or how far along the plans went. Rawley’s role in the group..

VIDEO: Kurt Angle’s Huge Birthday Celebration Continues After SmackDown Ends

He’s worth it. There are all kinds of wrestlers over the years but only a handful reach truly legendary status. Those are the wrestlers who are going to get more attention than others, even if they have stepped away from the ring. On occasion those stars will come back to television for a special appearance, which was the case this week for a special moment in front of a special audience. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: To The Other Side: Former NXT Champion Makes Surprise AEW Rampage Appearance This week’s SmackDown featured a special birthday celebration for Kurt Angle, who appeared on the show in front of his hometown crowd. WATCH: D-Generation X Celebration Continues After Monday Night Raw

It was a special moment. There have been a lot of great factions throughout the history of WWE and some of them are still remembered very fondly today. You can often remember several moments from those groups and it is fun to have them brought up again every now and then. That was the situation this week and it turns out that the celebration was not over when the cameras went off. This week’s Monday Night Raw featured the 25th anniversary of the debut of D-Generation X, including several members of the team returning for a special appearance. The group closed out the event with an in-ring appearance. A clip from after the show has made its way to Twitter, showing Triple H and Shawn Michaels hugging to end the night, though neither says anything. They’re the big ones. Check out what happened after Monday Night Raw ended: [This post contains video, click to play] Opinion: This was a special moment and I was glad to see the team getting a nice reception. They didn’t really do anything..

THAT’S GOTTA BE BIG! WWE Announces Celebration Of Special Kane Anniversary

I would say he has earned it. WWE has been around for a very long time now and there have been some very talented stars to come through that curtain. Some of them are far more memorable than others, but there are some legends who have stood the test of time. Those are the names that WWE likes to celebrate and that is what they are going to be doing in the near future. WWE has announced that they will be celebrating Kane’s 25th anniversary in the company. Kane debuted on October 5, 1997 at Bad Blood during the Hell In A Cell match between Shawn Michaels and Undertaker. WWE will be celebrating the milestone with special editions of Top 10 and WWE Playlist, looking at some of the best moments of Kane’s career. While Kane debuted in 1997, Glenn Jacobs had been wrestling for WWE for several years before becoming Kane. Opinion: This is the kind of thing that WWE has been doing over and over as of late and one of the biggest reasons is that they had a lot of great things from back in the la..

Huge Reunion Set For October 10 Monday Night Raw

It’s a homecoming. Stables have long since been a major concept in WWE and it makes a lot of sense. Putting a group of wrestlers together allows them to fill in more television time while also getting more people on the show. That is a tricky thing to do and a stable can make it that much easier. Now WWE is bringing back one of the biggest stables ever for a special reunion. As announced by the Barclays Center Twitter, D-Generation X will be reuniting to celebrate twenty five years of the team on the October 10 Monday Night Raw. The members who will be appearing are not specified but Shawn Michaels, Triple H, Road Dogg and X-Pac appear in the clip. There is no word on what the team will be doing during their reunion. REVIEW: Monday Night Raw – December 10, 2007: 15th Anniversary Greatness

Welcome to KB’s Old School (and New School) Reviews. I’ve been reviewing wrestling shows for over twelve years now and have reviewed over 6,000 shows. Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, I’ll be posting a new review here on Wrestlingrumors.net. It could be anything from modern WWE to old school to indies to anything in between. Note that I rate using letters instead of stars and I don’t rate matches under three minutes as really, how good or bad can something that short be? Monday Night Raw Date: December 10, 2007 Location: Arena At Harbor Yard, Bridgeport, Connecticut Attendance: 7,000 Commentators: Jim Ross, Jerry Lawler It’s time for a special show this week as it is the fifteenth anniversary celebration of the show. That means not only do we have a bunch of guest stars, but it is an extra large three hour edition. Throw in that it is also the go home show for Armageddon and this is going to be a busy night. Let’s get to it. We open with a mash up of Raw intros over the years, th..

Injury Update On AEW’s Santana (And It Could Be Pretty Bad)

That’s one of the worse ones. Injuries can happen at any time in wrestling and you never know when you are going to see something take place. It can happen from anywhere, with something as simple as a basic move going the wrong way. Unfortunately that seems to be the case again, and now the early prognosis of how bad things are is about as awful as it could be. This week’s AEW Dynamite featured the second Blood & Guts match, with Santana seeming to suffer some sort of leg injury. Santana was removed from the match and did not return, including not being present for the post match celebration. According to Wrestling Observer Live, the early word is that Santana might have suffered multiple torn ligaments, including his ACL and MCL, though this has yet to be confirmed. Opinion: I’d like to say that this is a surprise but that looked like the kind of knee injury that could wipe someone out for a long time. What makes it more frustrating is the fact that it came on a pretty standard move..

WATCH: The Rock’s Birthday Celebration From RAW (2011)

Happy Birthday! WWE has posted a new video to its YouTube channel, in which they show the full segment of The Rock’s Birthday Celebration From the May 2, 2011, episode of Raw. This is to promote The Rock’s 50th birthday, which is today! You can see the segment in its entirety below: [This post contains video, click to play] From WWE.com: It’s a shame birthdays only come around once a year. With all the cake, candles, and chaos, though, memories of The Rock’s celebratory bash should last at least that long. With the evening going full force, The Great One thanked the fans in his hometown of Miami and the entire WWE Universe for helping him celebrate. He was then joined by surprise guest Mr. McMahon, who offered some uncharacteristically kind words before unspooling a video tribute to The Rock. Then Grammy-award winning recording artist Mya was introduced and led the crowd in a rendition of “Happy Birthday.” None other than Samuel L. Jackson, Steve Carrell, Ellen DeGeneres, Dan Ma..

When in Jeddah. Over the last few years, WWE has maintained a business relationship with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. WWE has presented major events in the country, which earns them several million dollars per show. This has led to a controversial reception, as the country has a terrible human rights record. WWE continues to run events in the country though, which includes some interesting side moments. WWE will be holding the Elimination Chamber event in Saudi Arabia this coming weekend and the roster has already arrived in the country. A video has made its way online, showing the Miz and Goldberg at some sort of a celebration where they are both dancing while spinning sticks around. Both are scheduled to wrestle at the show, with Miz facing Rey Mysterio and Goldberg challenging Roman Reigns for the Universal Title. This might get some people talking. AEW Has A New Top Villain After Dynamite Turn

Change of plans. There are a lot of ways to present a wrestler, but at times it is clear that something needs to be changed. That can be done in a variety of ways, but one of the easiest is by turning them either good or bad. These changes can be out of nowhere or over time, and both kinds can be very effective. We saw one of the former this week and it worked pretty well. This week’s edition of AEW Dynamite opened with Hangman Page’s celebration for winning the AEW World Title. Page was eventually interrupted by new #1 contender Bryan Danielson, who was not pleased that Page defeated Kenny Omega. Danielson went on to insult both Page and the crowd, turning into a villain for the first time in his AEW tenure. There is no word on when Danielson vs. Page will take place. This could be a very dangerous change. Check out what Danielson can do in the ring before he went to the dark side: [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] [This post co..

AEW Dynamite Live Coverage And Results – November 17, 2021

Dynamite Date: November 17, 2021 Location: Chartway Arena, Norfolk, Virginia Commentators: Excalibur, Tony Schiavone, Jim Ross We’re done with Full Gear and Hangman Page is FINALLY the AEW World Champion. To say this is a long time coming is an understatement but now we get to see where things go from here. That could be in a variety of directions but this week is all about the big celebration. We have a long way to go before Revolution next year so let’s get to it. We open with a Full Gear recap. The Elite is in the back and Kenny Omega is rather sad. He hasn’t watched the match with Hangman Page back but he knows he has some things to fix. Omega wants them to hold the fort down while he’s gone and Adam Cole says they’ve got it. Omega just meant the Bucks though and they walk off. This would be the write off for Omega so he can go have shoulder surgery. The Dark Order is in the ring and here is Hangman Page, in a Virginia Is For Lovers shirt. Fans: “YOU DESERVE IT!” Page: “I’m gon..

REVIEW: ECW One Night Stand 2005: This Is Fun

Welcome to KB’s Old School (and New School) Reviews. I’ve been reviewing wrestling shows for over twelve years now and have reviewed over 6,000 shows. Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, I’ll be posting a new review here on Wrestlingrumors.net. It could be anything from modern WWE to old school to indies to anything in between. Note that I rate using letters instead of stars and I don’t rate matches under three minutes as really, how good or bad can something that short be? One Night Stand 2005 Date: June 12, 2019 Location: Hammerstein Ballroom, New York City, New York Attendance: 2,500 Commentators: Joey Styles, Mick Foley Oh boy this is a different one. So back in 2004, WWE put out an outstanding DVD about ECW called the Rise and Fall of ECW. It was one of the best looks back at a company that was certainly influential and had a heck of a cult following that you could ask for and made the fans want to see something more. Therefore, this show was born as a celebration of ECW’s histo..

SmackDown Live Coverage And Results – September 24, 2021

Smackdown Date: September 24, 2021 Location: Wells Fargo Center, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania Commentators: Michael Cole, Pat McAfee It’s the go home show for Extreme Rules, which is mostly minus the extreme. The one stipulation confirmed so far has been Roman Reigns vs. Finn Balor in an Extreme Rules match, though maybe we can get some more added this week. There is also an Intercontinental Title match scheduled so let’s get to it. Here is Becky Lynch to get things going and we see a clip of her interrupting Bianca Belair’s homecoming last week. Becky talks about how much fun she had last week and wonders where her celebration is. She never lost the Women’s Title, then came back less than a year after having a child and won the title in record time. Last week, Becky tried to come out and offer Belair a handshake but she wouldn’t let go of Becky’s hand. What choice did she really have? Becky wanted to give Belair time, but then she was goaded into a rematch at Extreme Rules, so what c..

BREAKING: New WWE Champion Crowned On Monday Night Raw

They went big. Money in the Bank is one of the biggest game changers in wrestling as you can see someone go from absolutely nothing to the champion in one match. It has been used regularly for over fifteen years now and still packs quite the punch. You don’t see it used often but it works well when it does. That is the case again as we have a new champion. This week on Monday Night Raw, Big E. cashed in his Money in the Bank contract against WWE Champion Bobby Lashley and won the title for the first time in his career. Lashley had announced that he would cash in the contract and did so after Lashley successfully defended his title against Randy Orton. This makes Lashley a member of the Monday Night Raw roster, reuniting him with the rest of New Day. I’d call that huge. Check out the celebration plus how Big E. got here: [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] Opinion: I’ve been a fan of Big E...

RUMOR: Why Alexa Bliss Was Not On Monday Night Raw, Bliss Comments

There’s a reason for that, I think? WWE has been undergoing some issues with its roster in recent months, as the company’s lineups have changed several times, mainly due to several releases. At the same time though, there have been a lot of people missing for just the short term. That was the case again this week, but it wasn’t for a reason you might have expected. Last week on Monday Night Raw, Alexa Bliss interrupted Charlotte’s celebration as the new Raw Women’s Champion. However, Bliss was neither seen nor mentioned on this week’s show and Charlotte wrestled Nia Jax. Bliss sent out a tweet saying that she was at Monday Night Raw but was not used. According to Wrestlingnews.co, Bliss was originally planned to be part of the show but the script was torn up by Vince McMahon. There is no word on what Bliss was scheduled to do. Haha I didn’t “miss” RAW . I was very much there ? — Lexi Kaufman (@AlexaBliss_WWE) August 31, 2021 I’m sure you remember Bliss. Check out what was missing f..
