AEW Honors Jay Briscoe In Dynamite’s Main Event

They will always be Dem Boys. Tonight’s episode of AEW Dynamite featured a tribute to Jay Briscoe, as his brother Mark, made his AEW debut against their longtime friend and rival, Jay Lethal. This tribute match came just over a week after Jay Briscoe passed away in a car accident at the age of 38. Ironically, the show also happened to be taking place on what would have been Jay’s 39th birthday. The finish of the match came when Mark Briscoe connected with The Froggy Bow through the timekeeper’s table. He then rolled Lethal into the ring, and after a series of maneuvers, Briscoe planted Lethal with The Jay Driller to pick up the victory. Following the match, the entire AEW locker room came on stage and gave a round of applause to both competitors. Several of them also hugged Lethal as he came up to the top of the entrance ramp. You can see a couple of videos of the tribute below: [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] Editor’s Opinio..

Jake “The Snake” Roberts: “I Chose Drugs and Alcohol Over a Family”

Jake “The Snake” Roberts was recently interviewed by Bleacher Report where he discussed a number of topics. Among them were almost dying due to drugs and alcohol, becoming sober and who helped him along the way, joining AEW, and more. Below are some questions, along with “The Snake”‘s answers: Bleacher Report: Thanks to The Resurrection of Jake the Snake and the Vice episode, you aired significant issues which aren’t easy for anyone to discuss. How have your relationships with your family changed after addressing those pitfalls of the past? Jake Roberts: “It’s gotten better. My oldest daughter and I are now golden. I have another daughter who’s golden. I have twin boys who are golden. But I do have four other children, who are…still holding their ground. I understand it. I’m not trying to shove anything down their throats. “I’m guilty of everything I did and didn’t do. It’s more things that I didn’t do, because I was never around them when I was messed up or drunk or anything like..

Gold Day: Six New Champions Crowned Over Two Different Events

Hand them over. Titles are one of the most important concepts in all of wrestling. They represent the best and often most talented stars in the promotion and are often the main focal points. It can mean a lot when a title changes hands and there are nights when several of them change hands during the same show. That was the case this weekend, with a special double shot. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Better Than Nothing? Tony Khan Announces Upcoming Weekly Ring Of Honor Series There were two major events held on Saturday, with Ring Of Honor Final Battle and NXT Deadline. Between the two shows, there were eight title matches with six title changes. The following titles changed hands at Final Battle: • Athena defeated Mercedes Martinez to win the Women’s Title • The Embassy defeated Dalton Castle and the Boys to win the Six Man Tag Team Titles • Wheeler Yuta defeated Daniel Garcia to win the Pure Title • The Briscoes defeated FTR in a Double Dog Collar match to win the Tag Team Titles • Claud..

This came about at the end of Dynamite, following The Acclaimed’s successful defense of the AEW Tag Team Championships against FTR. Colten and Austin Gunn appeared on screen and pulled a Christmas card out of a stocking. They then pulled out dog collars to review the stipulation for the match. #TheGunns @coltengunn & @theaustingunn have a gift for #FTR @CashWheelerFTR @DaxFTR It's a Double Dog Collar Match against #DEMBOYS #TheBriscoes @jaybriscoe84 @SussexCoChicken for the #ROH World Tag Team Championship at #ROHFinalBattle LIVE on PPV this SATURDAY! pic.twitter.com/fIp8H8Dkc6 — All Elite Wrestling (@AEW) December 8, 2022 FTR defeated The Briscoes at April’s Supercard of Honor to capture the ROH tag team championships. AEW Star Launched Into Orbit During Wednesday’s Dynamite (It’s A Long Evil Uno Story)

Well that’s….different. AEW has gone from non-existent to one of the biggest wrestling promotions in the world in less than four years. The company’s main television show, Dynamite, has been a major part of its rise as the show regularly features the top AEW names in a variety of matches. However, this week’s show was a bit different, and an AEW star had his own version of things. This week’s edition of AEW Dynamite took place on Tuesday night instead of its usual Wednesday night time slot due to TBS’s coverage of the Major League Baseball playoffs. During the Wednesday time slot, AEW’s Evil Uno live tweeted his own version of Dynamite, which did not air and had nothing to do with anything that took place on the Tuesday version of the show. Here is what Uno said took place: The show begins! We have a special commentary team of Excalibur, Daddy Magic, Bill Regal, one of The Boys (can’t tell which one) and of course, Evil Uno! #ItsExplosive — EVIL UNO is a GOOD GUY (@EvilUno) October ..

Seth Rollins And Becky Lynch Reunite With Former WWE Stars

It’s a reunion. There are all kinds of wrestlers who pass through the WWE roster at one point or another. Some of them make a huge impact but the majority are often little more than footnotes in the company’s history. While they may be talented, they might not have gotten the kind of a chance they needed to go somewhere. Now two top WWE stars have reunited with two talented wrestlers who never got much of a shot. Former WWE stars the Bollywood Boyz (better known as Sunil and Samir Singh) recently visited Seth Rollins’ CrossFit and posed for a photo with Rollins and his wife Becky Lynch. The brothers also praised Rollins Deadboys Fitness program while referring to Rollins and Lynch as their “road family”. The Boyz were released from WWE in June 2021 and have worked on the independent circuit since. Just like ol’ times with the “road” family. @deadboysfitness In a business full of adversity & uncertainty, you can only stay inspired & disciplined around individuals who have reached th..

Multiple Titles Change Hands At ROH Death Before Dishonor

That’s a busy night. Titles are the easiest concept in all of wrestling and they always will be. Anyone can understand the idea of someone with the big shiny belt being the best around and in wrestling, those belts have to be defended. When one of them changes hands, it feels like something special has happened and that was the case again this weekend, multiple times over. Saturday night, Ring Of Honor made its return to pay per view with Death Before Dishonor. The card featured six title matches, with two title changes taking place. First up, Claudio Castagnoli win the Ring Of Honor World Title from Jonathan Gresham in the show’s opening match. Then, the Righteous lost the Ring Of Honor Six Man Tag Team Titles to Dalton Castle and the Boys, marking Castle and the Boys’ second reign as champions. The Pure Title, the Women’s Title, the Television Title and the Tag Team Titles were all retained. Opinion: This was quite the eventful night for Ring Of Honor, as having a single title chan..

REVIEW: Olde Wrestling In Detroit: A Different Era

Welcome to KB’s Old School (and New School) Reviews. I’ve been reviewing wrestling shows for over twelve years now and have reviewed over 6,000 shows. Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, I’ll be posting a new review here on Wrestlingrumors.net. It could be anything from modern WWE to old school to indies to anything in between. Note that I rate using letters instead of stars and I don’t rate matches under three minutes as really, how good or bad can something that short be? Olde Wrestling In Detroit Date: March 30, 2019 Location: The Whiskey Factory, Detroit, Michigan Commentator: Joe Dombrowski This is something I have wanted to see for a LONG time, as the promotion is set in the 1920s and features a corrupt judge, bootlegging, shoeshine boys and more. It sounded like a blast and made me grab a subscription to IndependentWrestling.TV, which sent me on a list of about 20 shows. This is the grand finale though so let’s get to it. Opening video, with old school style of course. The r..

WATCH: Wrestling Legend Singing At A Bar After Horrible Health Issues

That’s a great thing to see. There have been a lot of wrestlers throughout history and several of the legends are still around today. It can be rather sad to see them go through one issue after another, especially when health comes into play. That has been the case with one of the more famous tag wrestlers in recent months but now we have a very good update. Back in November, wrestling legend Brian Knobbs of the Nasty Boys was hospitalized with several health issues. Knobbs had been undergoing issues with his stomach and had suffered a fall which resulted in some broken bones. He has since lost 60 pounds and is said to be in better health. A video has now been uploaded to Twitter, showing Knobbs at Hogan’s Hangout in Tampa, Florida, where he sings the theme to the Wonder Years. Hulk Hogan and his daughter Brooke can be seen watching in the background. This is pretty cool. Check out Knobbs looking better: [This post contains video, click to play] Opinion: Knobbs looks a heck of a lo..

Impact Wrestling Results – April 28, 2022

Impact Wrestling Date: April 28, 2022 Location: Majed J. Nesheiwat Convention Center, Poughkeepsie, New York Commentators: Tom Hannifan, Matthew Rehwoldt We’re done with Rebellion and the big story is that Josh Alexander got the World Title back from Moose in a heck of a main event. Other than that, we are less than two weeks away from Under Siege and need to get a card together pretty fast. Odds are we’ll be seeing a bunch of rematches so let’s get to it. The opening recap looks at Rebellion in rapid fashion. Opening sequence. Here is Violent By Design for a chat. Eric Young talks about desiring power and control, and that is exactly what they went and got. Now they have defeated seven teams and are the permanent Tag Team Champions. If you are being honest, their success shouldn’t surprise you and there is no team anywhere that can take them down. Cue Heath and Rhino to say they want the Tag Team Titles but here are the Briscoes to interrupt. Jay says Dem Boys are in the house an..

Velveteen Dream Wants To Return To NXT

I don’t know if I can see it happening. There have been a lot of wrestlers throughout WWE’s history and some of them have reached quite the prominent stature. At the same time, there are far more who are remembered well enough but never quite broke through. Then there are some who are more infamous than famous, and now one of them wants to have another chance. Former NXT star Velveteen Dream has posted to his Instagram Stories, saying that in spite of the allegations against him, he would love to have a career in NXT. Dream said that he was 26, talented and “ready to go the show what it should be”. Dream was released from WWE in May 2021 due to a series of backstage incidents. He was also accused of sexually harassing underage boys, though a WWE investigation found no wrongdoing. Dreamer has denied the allegations against him. Opinion: While Dream is one of the most talented stars to come up through the WWE system in a long time, the type of allegations against him are the kind that..

VIDEO: Hardys Reunion Following Jeff Hardy’s WWE Release

Welcome back? There are various wrestling families who get your attention no matter what they are doing. That can make for some good and bad moments, as you almost don’t know what you re going to get from time to time. In this case, a pair of wrestling brothers are back again, though in this case it comes after an incident that was not the greatest sight to behold. Last week, WWE officially released Jeff Hardy from his contract following an incident at a live event earlier in the month. Hardy was released after walking out on a match and refusing to go to rehab. Since his release, Hardy has appeared on his brother Matt’s YouTube channel in a pair of videos. In the first video, Matt discusses being the architect of the Hardy Boys team. Jeff appeared behind him, saying that he had been listening to Release Me by Wilson Phillips. In the second video, the Hardys promote some of Jeff’s upcoming concert dates. Jeff will be under a no compete clause in wrestling until March. It was a surpri..

Great Health News On Two Wrestling Legends

That’s great to hear. Wrestlers are larger than life characters who are on our televisions almost every week, but there is another side to them that we rarely see. Aside from just their wrestling careers, they also have real lives outside of the ring and that can include having some problems. Two legends certainly did have some problems as of late, but things might be getting a bit better. There is some good news on the health statuses of two wrestling legends. First, Jim Duggan has been released from the hospital following emergency surgery earlier this week. There is no word on what was wrong with Duggan in the first place, but he has sent out a message on Instagram, saying that he is going home to full recuperate after two nights in the hospital. In addition, Brian Knobs of the Nasty Boys has posted a new message to Facebook, revealing that he has lost 60lbs while still in the hospital and continues to undergo rehabilitation. Knobs has been in the hospital since August with a vari..

Rampage Date: October 8, 2021 Location: Licouras Center, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania Commentators: Excalibur, Taz, Chris Jericho We’re still in front of one of the hottest crowds of the year and that should do a lot of good for the card. Opening sequence. We start with Mark Henry’s split screen interview. Punk isn’t worried about that and is here to face Garcia because of his skill. Oh and 2.0 are like the Nasty Boys’ little brothers. CM Punk vs. Daniel Garcia 2.0 is here with Garcia. Punk wins a test of strength to put Garcia down, setting up a crossarm choke. Back up and Punk sends him into the corner so Garcia slows things down a bit. A heel ..

Wrestling Legend Undergoes Health Setback After Fall

Hopefully things get better. Wrestlers have a strange career trajectory, as they are likely to be retired from the ring by their mid 40s, but can still pop back in for a cameo from time to time. It can change the perception that fans have of them, as they might still seem like big stars despite their diminishing status. This means they might not be in as good shape as some fans believe, either financially or health wise. That seems to be the case again with a wrestling legend. Earlier this year, a story came out about Brian Knobbs of the Nasty Boys undergoing health issues and being hospitalized. A Go Fund Me has been set up for Knobbs, and a new update has revealed that he has undergone a setback. According to the update, Knobbs fell at a rehabilitation facility and broke his clavicle while also injuring his head, which will require nine stitches. There is currently an effort to move him to a more appropriate rehabilitation facility, as he is currently in one designed for seniors. K..

SmackDown Personality Confirms Positive Coronavirus Test

It can happen to anyone. The Coronavirus has changed the way a lot of people live and that is going to be the case for a good while to come. While things have been getting a bit better due to the availability of vaccines, there are still thousands of cases every single day. Some of these have likely impacted the wrestling world, and now we know for sure that one of them has. SmackDown broadcaster Pat McAfee has announced that he has tested positive for the Coronavirus. McAfee said that he is fully vaccinated but he will be staying home for awhile. There is no word on who will be taking his spot on the SmackDown announce team or if anyone else in WWE has tested positive. McAfee called Summerslam with Michael Cole on Sunday. Fully Vax’d. Very Positive. Aht Indefinitely. It’s miserable but thankful that my wife and the boys at the office all took tests and they are all negative.. This is obviously a sign from the universe, probably telling me that I stink & to stay home for a while...

Wrestling Legend Hospitalized With Severe Issues

Please don’t be bad. Wrestlers are on television every week, which is a lot more than you see from various other celebrities. It is almost weird to think about seeing someone every single week like that, but there is more to their lives than what you see on television. That can be both good or bad, and in this case a wrestling legend is having some pretty serious real life problems. Brian Knobbs of the Nasty Boys has been hospitalized for some serious stomach issues along with a problem with his knee. It is not clear what is wrong with Knobbs, but he is expected to be in the hospital for several months to determine the issues. He will also need knee surgery if he is expected to be able to walk again. A GoFundMe has been set up to help with his expenses. Knobbs had a heck of a career. Check out what he has done in the ring before: [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] Opinion: Hopefully Knob..

How Can You Help Ricochet Rebuild His Mother’s Home After Disaster Struck?

We have some sad news to report, along with a way that we can help. Just a few hours before he officially became a Raw Superstar in the 2019 Superstar Shakeup, Ricochet received some difficult news. His mother’s home, the house he grew up in, was destroyed in a fire. Thankfully, his mother, her boyfriend and her boyfriend’s two children are safe, but the rebuilding process is going to be tough. As a results, Ricochet has set up a GoFundMe page to help pay for some of the damages caused by the fire. He wrote the following regarding the disaster: Monday afternoon I found out that my mom came home from the theatre to find her house engulfed in flames. Luckily my mom, her boyfriend and his two boys are all okay, but devastated from losing all of the memories that were in this house. Not only memories that they have made together, but from me and my brothers childhood, my son growing up and everything in between. He also tweeted about it: I'm raising money to help my mom rebuild ..

Ring Of Honor TV Results – March 27, 2019

Ring of Honor Date: March 27, 2019 Location: RP Funding Center, Lakeland, Florida Commentators: Ian Riccaboni, Colt Cabana The post-Anniversary Show shows continue here and that means another one off night that may or may not mean anything. There’s always the chance that none of this goes anywhere, which can be rather tiresome. At the same time though, there is a real chance of getting something very nice out of these shows. Let’s get to it. Opening sequence. Dalton Castle/The Boys vs. Lifeblood Bandido/Tracy Williams/Juice Robinson with Tenille Dashwood for Lifeblood here. Castle sends Robinson to the floor for the strut to start, only to have Robinson throw him to the floor for a strut of his own. Another exchange of tosses to the floor is capped off by Castle being sent over the top but he comes back in for another strut off. It’s off to Williams instead, with the Boys making some rather weird noises to suggest that they want in. Boy #2 comes in for a chop but has to bring in #1..
