w Unfortunately bad things can happen occasionally, and that is the case again for an AEW star. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: And Done: AEW Stable Officially Disbands On Sunday at AEW Revolution, Wardlow defeated Samoa Joe to regain the TNT Title. This week, Wardlow posted a video to Twitter, revealing that someone broke into his rental car and stole his bags. These bags contained all of his wrestling gear, from his attire to his boots to the TNT Title itself. There is no word on if AEW has another version of the belt. This is the second time that an AEW title was stolen, as the World Title belt was stolen during Chris Jericho’s reign. It was eventually returned by someone who found it elsewhere. That was rough. That’s one less. Stables have been a common factor in wrestling for a very long time now as they are a concept that makes sense. Having a stable allows for several wrestlers to be able to get television time at once, often through a shared goal or characteristic. Occasionally you will also see wrestlers who are thrown together with nothing else to do, and now we are seeing one such stable go their separate ways. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: WATCH: WWE And AEW Stars Reunite In New Music Video AEW’s QT Marshall has announced that the Factory, his AEW stable, has disbanded, citing hate from “experts” in wrestling. Marshall said to keep an eye on the members of the team, including Lee Johnson, Cole Karter, Aaron Solo and Nick Comoroto. That’s a rare reason. With so many different wrestlers on the WWE roster, there is going to be quite the collection of stars from around the world and from different backgrounds. That can make for some interesting situations, some of which are more negative than others. That was the case again this week, as a WWE star was not allowed to be at a show, though the absence was written in. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Long Form: NXT Star Gives Injury Update, To Miss 11-12 Months With Torn ACL This week on Monday Night Raw, Adam Pearce received a phone call from Chelsea Green, saying she had been sent to Ottawa, Illinois rather than Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, causing her to miss the show. According to Fightful Select, this was due to Green not being cleared to return to Canada, meaning she was not allowed to appear at the show. Green was spotted in New York City during the show, attending a performance of her husband Matt Cardona’s musical “The Last Match”. Green has had an interesting path since..
They’ll be back. AEW has several strengths and one of them is the depth of its roster. The company has so many wrestlers from around the world who are well versed in different styles and techniques, allowing for different kinds of matches. One of the drawbacks of this is having wrestlers miss time due to international issues, which seems to be the case again for several names. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Catch You Later: Former WWE Champion Gone For The Time Being According to Wrestling Observer Radio, several AEW stars are currently missing due to visa issues. This includes both of the Lucha Bros as well as Bandido, who have not wrestled on television since January. There is no word on when they will be back in the ring or on AEW TV. This comes after Kenny Omega was forced to miss some shows before returning a few weeks later. There is some talent missing from AEW TV. He’s back! At tonight’s Impact Wrestling Hard to Kill pay-per-view event, former WWE superstar Santino Marella made his debut in Impact Wrestling. Marella made his entrance after Moose used a low blow to defeat Joe Hendry and announced that he is now in the role of the Director of Authority. He then restarted the match, which led to Hendry getting the win and retaining the Digital Media Championship. That’s a big one. The WWE roller coaster is fully underway as we have one change after another almost daily at this point. The biggest thus far this week has been Vince McMahon being reelected as Chairman of the Board of WWE and his daughter Stephanie resigning from her seat. While Vince will get more of the attention, Stephanie’s resignation has several details of its own. Stephanie leaving is believed to be a continuation of the leave of absence she was taking last year, though there is no word on when or if she will be returning to the company. Along with former co-WWE CEO Nick Khan, Stephanie is said to be well liked backstage, with wrestlers feeling uncertainty over the situation, including when it comes to Stephanie and Khan. Stephanie’s husband Triple H is still officially Chief Content Officer. Stephanie has play..
Might we see more? One of the defining traits of the Triple H era of WWE has been the return of several superstars that were released when Vince McMahon was in charge of the company. It would appear that more may be on the way. According to a report from Fightful Select, Chelsea Green has been under contract with WWE “for quite some time and is still awaiting creative.” This was after she was released from the company on April 15, 2021. Another indication that Green was headed to WWE was her recently shutting down her Onlyfans page. Green’s husband Matt Cardona, who competed as Zack Ryder in WWE, could be on his way back also; however, officials say that “Cardona is not signed, but that we shouldn’t rule anything out for the future.” Finally, Kylie Rae is reportedly still a free agent despite being brought in for a tryout and appearing on WWE Main Event. Editor’s Opinion: I, for one, would love to see Chelsea Green back. I always thought that she was incredibly talented and didn’t..
You hate to see it. Tonight on RAW, Candice LaRae mentioned in a backstage interview that her husband, Johnny Gargano, suffered an injury at a recent WWE event. Gargano took to Twitter to confirm the report, saying the following: I injured my shoulder at a live event in Toronto (ironic?), and the medical team is going to protect me from myself for a bit.. but you better believe I’m going to do EVERYTHING I can to get back in that ring so I can be that guy you all know I can be. That could be bad. Injuries are one of the worst things that can happen in wrestling. Not only do they put a wrestler on the shelf for an undetermined period of time, but they also can happen out of nowhere. Some injuries are built up over time and then flare up during a match, which appears to have been the case with a national star who was appearing for a major independent show. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: The More You Know: AEW’s Kyle O’Reilly Opens Up About His Absence, Dealing With Health Issues Over the weekend, Pro Wrestling Guerrilla presented its annual Battle Of Los Angeles tournament. According to Wrestling Observer Radio, Bandido was injured during the two night event, though he was still able to wrestle both of his matches. Bandido is said to have injured his neck in a match with Black Taurus and El Hijo de Vikingo and was slowed down during his match the following night with Kommander. The injury is described as something that has “flared up” multiple times over the last few..
She has potential. One of the most common criticisms of wrestlers is that they are only acting. Wrestlers are seen as people playing roles in fake stories. At the same time, they are rarely given credit for their acting skills, as they are often told that they are wrestlers instead of actors. You will occasionally see the two paths cross, and now another top WWE star may be interested in such a move. Lynch’s husband Seth Rollins was interviewed by WQAD News (ABC affiliate in Moline, Illinois) where he talked about Lynch’s acting career. Rollins said that Lynch’s acting career is starting to “perk up a little bit and that’s where she wants to go”. He went on to say that if the two eventually went “out west”, so be it, though they would be fine to stay where they are. Lynch has dabbled in acting on and off throughout her t..
He’ll be back? The rise of AEW has changed the way the wrestling landscape as there is now a new major promotion where top stars can go. Even more. Earlier this year, the wrestling world was rocked by the announcement that Vince McMahon was under an official WWE investigation over allegations of inappropriate relationships with various women. McMahon was accused of using company funds to pay the women for their silence, spending millions of dollars in the process. McMahon officially retired from WWE in July, but things are not done yet. In addition, an attorney for a second, unnamed woman is demanding payment over an alleged assault by McMahon at a California spa in 2011. That is some high praise. There are moments in wrestling where you can tell that something big has changed. It might be a win, it might be a speech or it might be something else entirely, but something has happened that is going to shake things up in wrestling. That was the case with a special moment back in 2018, and now a WWE star has some high praise for what happened. Good for them! Wrestlers have some very busy schedules and that does not leave them with a lot of free time to do other things. With all of the traveling and wrestling in various places, it can make things more than a little complicated. This includes romance, but there are ways to make it work. That’s a good reason. The rise of AEW has changed the way wrestling works in a lot of ways. One of the most important has been allowing a variety of wrestlers a new place to go, including some who have never gotten any exposure on a national stage. Wrestlers might be able to pick where they want to go and now we know why one of them made their own choice. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: AEW’s Television Future Could Be Very Promising Last month, reports surfaced that Bandido had come to terms with AEW despite having interest from WWE. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Bandido chose AEW over WWE because he did not want to move from Mexico. Bandido has a partner and child in Mexico and working full time with WWE would not allow him to see them as often. Bandido’s deal is reportedly for three years and has a maximum number of dates included. Bandido started well in AEW. That could have been different. Managers can be very valuable for a wrestler as they can cover up a lot of gaps that a wrestler might have. Putting the right people together can make for some great moments, but having the wrong combination can do quite a bit of damage. Now we know an idea that WWE had which wound up not being used as one of the two wasn’t wild on the idea. According to Fightful Select, WWE originally planned for Scarlett to manage Damian Priest when the two were in NXT. However, this pairing never came together as Priest did not feel it was a good fit for him. Instead, Scarlett was held back until her future husband Karrion Kross came to NXT when she was paired with him. While the date of a potential pairing was not specifically known, it was thought to be around the time NXT debuted on USA in September 2019. Opinion: That is a pairing that could have worked out very well had WWE chosen to go in that direction. It would have been interesting to see Priest with a mana..
The strength grows. There are a lot of things that need to be done to make a wrestling company stronger and a lot of those changes involve the roster. Sometimes you need to boost things up a bit with some fresh talent, some of which are names that you have seen before. Now AEW seems to have bolstered its roster again by adding in some fresh names to its ranks. According to PWInsider.com, AEW has signed two stars to deals of some sort, though the lengths are not known. The first name is Juice Robinson, who is a former NXT star as well as a former New Japan Pro Wrestling United States Champion. Robinson appeared on the September 28 edition of AEW Dynamite, losing to Jon Moxley. The second name is Bandido, who is a former Ring Of Honor World Champion. Bandido lost to Chris Jericho in a Ring Of Honor World Title match on the September 28 edition of Dynamite. There is no word on when either will return to AEW TV. Opinion: Those would be two big names added to the AEW roster and that seems..
Former WWE superstar CJ Perry, known as Lana in WWE, was recently interviewed by In The Kliq Podcast to promote her upcoming role on VH1’s “The Surreal Life.” She discussed a number of topics, including a return to professional wrestling. Below are some highlights from the interview: Lana On returning to professional wrestling: “I’m open to everything in life. If I put my dreams in a box, I wouldn’t be where I am today. So, I mean, Triple H, he’s a genius. Stephanie’s a genius. I got hired by Triple H. He paired me with Miro and helped really cultivate that, in 2014, that story and that gimmick and those characters. He really helped me develop the Ravishing Russian, so I think he has an incredible creative mind. I think he is an incredible storyteller and entertaining. If the story is right, if it makes sense, I’m always open to go back to WWE and tell compelling stories and same with AEW. I’m totally open to that too. I love working with my husband and creating and telling stories...
