No Vacancy? Update On Former WWE Stars Returning To The Company

There had to be a limit. One of the bigger wrestling stories over the last several months has been the return of several former WWE stars to the company. WWE released well over 100 wrestlers from their contracts over the previous year and a half, but now the Triple H regime has brought several of them back. However, things might be changing a bit as we move forward. He’s Managing: Wrestling Legend Reportedly Negotiating Authors Of Pain’s Possible WWE Return

It’s a different job. Managers have been around wrestling for decades and they have long since served an important purpose. A manager often serves as a wrestler’s mouthpiece and gets the fans to care about him more than the wrestler can make happen on their own. Occasionally an on-screen manager has some off-screen responsibilities and now a former WWE manager might be helping some old clients. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Could be Worse: Update On Montez Ford’s Health After WWE Elimination Chamber Earlier this year, reports surfaced saying that WWE had an interest in bringing the Authors of Pain back to the company. According to Fightful Select, the team has a strong sense of loyalty to their former manager Paul Ellering, who would actually be negotiating any possible return. Here are some highlights, with transcription courtesy of 411mania.com: On McMahon’s Return “F..

WATCH: Wrestling Legend Makes Surprise Appearance To Help Fellow Boss

There’s your cameo. There have been all kinds of wrestlers throughout history and some of them are names who do not make the biggest impact. Some of them make a short term impact and become a bit more infamous than famous, but they are not around all that long. Now one of the more memorable stars from WCW made an appearance in a spot you might not have expected him. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: It’s About That Time: Wrestling Legend Says He Does Not Have Much Time Left In The Ring Ernest “The Cat” Miller made a surprise appearance this week on Impact Wrestling, helping new Director Of Authority Santino Marella set up a six person tag match for later in the night. There is no word on if Miller will be appearing again for Impact Wrestling. Miller was a former WCW Commissioner during WCW’s final years before eventually wrestling and commentating for WWE. After a nearly ten year hiatus, Miller returned to the ring in 2015 and still wrestles occasionally. Miller certainly had some interesting ..

Not A Fan: Former WWE Star Says Shane McMahon’s Matches Hurt The Business

That’s not exactly praise. There have been all kinds of changes in the wrestling world this year but the biggest has been the change in regime in the WWE. After nearly forty years of Vince McMahon being in charge, there are new bosses at the helm, meaning the McMahons no longer have full authority. Now one former WWE star has something to say about a member of the family. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: WATCH: The Miz Fights A Cactus (And Loses) During a recent edition of his Cafe de Rene podcast, former WWE star Rene Dupree spoke about Shane McMahon, talking about how Shane’s matches would hurt the business. Dupree said that Shane only knows how to do stunts instead of wrestle a match, resulting in his stunts making it harder for wrestlers to get a reaction. Shane has been gone from WWE since this year’s Royal Rumble in January, allegedly due to backstage disagreements over how he would be presented. Shane does do a lot of things in the ring. Check out some of his better moments: [This pos..

Arn Anderson On Time As A WWE Producer: “I Hated That Job”

It’s a rough job. There are all kinds of people who have to come together to make a WWE show work and a lot of them don’t even get in the ring. Some of the people are there as a representative of the company as a way to make sure things go well. Now one of them is talking about his former position and how it did not exactly go as well as he had been hoping. During the latest edition of his ARN podcast, former WWE producer Arn Anderson spoke about his time in the role. Anderson said that he actually hated the job, as he was only involved in the finish of the match. If the rest of the match did not go well, he would get blamed by Vince McMahon. The job would have been easier if he had more authority of the match, as it would have kept him from taking so much blame for so little influence. Anderson also described himself as a “scapegoat” for any problems that came up during matches he produced, even if he had little to do with it. Anderson worked for WWE from 2001-2019. Opinion: This is..

More On WWE’s Plans To Call Up NXT Stars

There is a point to them. WWE has a complicated history when it comes to tag teams. The company has had some excellent teams over the years but there have been long stretches when teams are rarely focused on whatsoever. There are times when tag teams receive a focus and it can be interesting to see them pop up. That might be what WWE is doing again, at least with one team. Earlier this month, a report surfaced saying that WWE was considering calling up Veer Mahaan and Sanga, collectively known as Indus Sher, from NXT to the main roster. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, this would be done to add a powerhouse team, which WWE does not currently have. There has not been such a team on the roster since the Authors of Pain, who were released in 2020. Opinion: I’m not sure I get the thinking about not having a powerhouse team on a roster that includes the Viking Raiders, who are mostly power wrestlers. WWE does seem to have a plan in mind though and that is more than often se..

WWE Changes Longstanding Rule About “Dirty Words”

Get your scripts updated. WWE has been undergoing a variety of changes and some of them are going to be felt for a long time to come. Most of these changes have been behind the scenes, but a good many of those are going to have an impact on what happens in front of the camera. That seems to be the case again, as some longstanding rules might be relaxed a bit. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE is relaxing its rule on the use of the terms “wrestler” and “wrestling” in promos. Previously, the terms needed prior authorization to be used but now the terms are no longer considered dirty. This is said to be part of the changes taking place in WWE, many of which are seen as positives. Triple H is now in charge of both creative and talent relations and is said to be someone who cares about talent. Opinion: This is the kind of change that seems like the most logical idea in the world. At the end of the day, only WWE would ever think to call itself sports entertainment rather ..

WRESTLING RUMOR: Interesting Name May Gain Power With Vince McMahon Gone

He might be next in line. There are a lot of changes taking place in WWE at the moment and they very well could rock the company for a long time to come. That is the kind of thing that you do not get to see happen very often and it is a rare situation where a lot of movement could take place as a result. It seems possible that one person in particular could benefit behind the scenes. According to a Pro Wrestling Torch VIP Audio show, Paul Heyman may be set to move up in WWE’s creative due to Stephanie McMahon becoming the co-CEO of the company. Heyman and Triple H are said to be close and Heyman’s relationship with McMahon has improved over the years. Heyman was in charge of Monday Night Raw for several months starting in 2020 before being replaced by Bruce Prichard. Opinion: Now this is intriguing as the power vacuum left by Vince McMahon’s absence begins to be filled. Vince ran the company for such a long time that there were very few people with significant authority. Things seem ..

Vince McMahon Has Already Lost Something Due To Recent Allegations Against Him

So much for that. There are a lot of powerful and influential people in the wrestling world and then there is Vince McMahon. No one in the history of wrestling has come close to his level of authority and it is likely no one will ever get close again. That is the kind of status that can change the industry and now something McMahon has been accused of doing is changing something in another company. According to Denise Salcedo of Instinct Culture, the McMahon Netflix documentary series has been pulled and will not be airing. The documentary was in post production with interviews filmed several months ago and millions of dollars spent. This comes after new allegations of hush payments made by McMahon to various female WWE employees over affairs with McMahon over the years. Sources tell me that the Vince McMahon Netflix documentary has been pulled & is off the programming spreadsheet at Netflix. A source at Netflix confirmed it no longer being listed on their spreadsheet, another source..

Triple H’s Return To WWE Performance Center Might Not Mean Much

It might be a little while. There have been all kinds of changes taking place as of late in WWE, with some of those taking place behind the scenes. Those changes have caused various changes to take place in front of the camera as well. Some of the changes might not have taken effect just yet though, and that seems to be the case with one of the more interesting ones. Last month, reports stated that Triple H had returned to the WWE Performance Center and declared that he was “back”. However, according to PWInsider.com, the NXT leadership team has not changed and there is nothing to indicate that Triple H has any official position. Shawn Michaels is still the brand’s manager, with head writer Johnny Russo, Nick Bonnano and George Caroll as the writers. There is no word on when, or if, Triple H will resume any kind of authority. Opinion: This is the kind of thing that shouldn’t surprise you in WWE, as the company continues to change one thing after another. I’m not sure where this is go..

Who’s The Boss: Interesting Detail On Logan Paul’s WWE Deal

Money talks. Celebrities have a long history of being involved in wrestling and it makes a lot of sense. Fans are interested in seeing what someone from outside the wrestling world can do there and it can make for some interesting results. That is the case again in WWE with a new signee, and it turns out that the new star has a bit more authority than most regular wrestlers. Last week, social media star Logan Paul officially signed with WWE. During his signing, Paul cut a promo on the Miz, promising that he was coming for him. According to Wrestling Observer Radio, this is because Paul is reportedly “calling the shots” with WWE and wants to be presented as the hero in the story. The two are expected to face off at Summerslam following Miz attacking Paul at WrestleMania 38. Opinion: This is one of those things that you do not get to see very often but it does make some sense. Paul is a star and someone who does not need WWE to be seen as a big deal. It makes sense for WWE to let him h..

REVIEW: Money In The Bank 2015: A Bunch Of Ladders

Welcome to KB’s Old School (and New School) Reviews. I’ve been reviewing wrestling shows for over ten years now and have reviewed over 5,000 shows. Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, I’ll be posting a new review here on Wrestlingrumors.net, starting today. It could be anything from modern WWE to old school to indies to anything in between. Note that I rate using letters instead of stars and I don’t rate matches under three minutes as really, how good or bad can something that short be? Money in the Bank 2015 Date: June 14, 2015 Location: Nationwide Arena, Columbus, Ohio Commentators: Jerry Lawler, John Bradshaw Layfield, Michael Cole It’s already time to crown a new Mr. Money in the Bank, just two and a half months after Seth Rollins cashed in during the main event of Wrestlemania XXXI. In addition to the ladder match, the main event is…..another ladder match! Seth Rollins will defend his WWE World Title against Dean Ambrose after saying he doesn’t need the Authority’s help. Let’s g..

AEW President Tony Khan Unhappy With Locker Room Leaks, Calls Them “Shameful”

The boss isn’t pleased. There are a lot of people who come together to make AEW work but perhaps the most important is the company’s president Tony Khan. In addition to being the company’s booker and financial backer, he is also the ultimate boss in the company. That means he has to be the final authority figure when something goes wrong. It seems that is the case again, at least according to Khan. Over the weekend, news broke that Orange Cassidy was set to debut the song “Jane” by Jefferson Starship as his new theme music. This did not happen as the deal was not completed, but Khan referenced it during the Forbidden Door media scrum. Khan was not happy that the news about the new song leaked, calling such leaks “really shameful” as the entrance could have caused a pop from the crowd. He went on to say that it was ridiculous that he had to address the situation because someone in the back said something they shouldn’t have said. Opinion: While I can understand why Khan is annoyed at ..
