REVIEW: Survivor Series 2003: The Stakes Are High

Welcome to KB’s Old School (and New School) Reviews. I’ve been reviewing wrestling shows for over ten years now and have reviewed over 5,000 shows. Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, I’ll be posting a new review here on Wrestlingrumors.net, starting today. It could be anything from modern WWE to old school to indies to anything in between. Note that I rate using letters instead of stars and I don’t rate matches under three minutes as really, how good or bad can something that short be? Survivor Series 2003 Date: November 16, 2003 Location: American Airlines Center, Dallas, Texas Attendance: 13,487 Commentators: Jim Ross, Jerry Lawler, Michael Cole, Tazz This is another big one and it’s also a one sided show. The Smackdown offerings are about as uninteresting as they could be while the Raw side looks at at least marginally better. This isn’t a great show on paper and I have a bad feeling that it’s going to be even worse as it actually takes place. Let’s get to it. The opening video ..

Monday Night Raw Results – October 31, 2022

Monday Night Raw Date: October 31, 2022 Location: America Airlines Center, Dallas, Texas Commentators: Kevin Patrick, Corey Graves We’re on the way to Crown Jewel but first we need a big stop for Halloween. This is going to include the traditional Trick Or Street Fight, this time between Matt Riddle and Otis, but also an appearance from Roman Reigns. Hopefully it involves the Bloodline and not Logan Paul, but we might not be that lucky. Let’s get to it. Opening sequence. Bianca Belair vs. Nikki Cross Non-title. Belair drives her into the corner to start so Cross sticks her head out and shouts at Belair to hit her. That’s fine with Belair, who hammers away but gets taken outside for a tie up in the ring skirt as we take a break. Back with Belair managing a suplex but favoring her leg. Said leg is fine enough to hit the handspring moonsault but Cross grabs a choke. They crash out to the floor to break it up but here are Iyo Sky and Dakota Kai to distract the referee, allowing Bayley ..

REVIEW: Survivor Series 2007: The Big Fight Feel

Welcome to KB’s Old School (and New School) Reviews. I’ve been reviewing wrestling shows for over twelve years now and have reviewed over 6,000 shows. Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, I’ll be posting a new review here on Wrestlingrumors.net. It could be anything from modern WWE to old school to indies to anything in between. Note that I rate using letters instead of stars and I don’t rate matches under three minutes as really, how good or bad can something that short be? Survivor Series 2007 Date: November 18, 2007 Location: American Airlines Arena, Miami, Florida Attendance: 12,500 Commentators: Michael Cole, John Bradshaw Layfield, Jerry Lawler, Jim Ross, Tazz, Joey Styles It is pretty rare when you have a true one match card but that is what we have here, as Batista is defending the Smackdown World Title against the Undertaker inside the Cell. There might be a few other things going on here, but that has been treated as the be all and end all of the show, as it should be. Let’s..

REVIEW: Monday Night Raw – April 4, 2022: The Night After

Welcome to KB’s Old School (and New School) Reviews. I’ve been reviewing wrestling shows for over twelve years now and have reviewed over 6,000 shows. Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, I’ll be posting a new review here on Wrestlingrumors.net. It could be anything from modern WWE to old school to indies to anything in between. Note that I rate using letters instead of stars and I don’t rate matches under three minutes as really, how good or bad can something that short be? Monday Night Raw Date: April 4, 2022 Location: American Airlines Center, Dallas, Texas Commentators: Jimmy Smith, Corey Graves, Byron Saxton It is the night after Wrestlemania and I’m not even sure if that means anything these days. This show has a long history of being something special but since that isn’t WWE’s deal a lot of the time, we might be in for a show that is closer to normal. That isn’t exactly inspiring but let’s get to it. Note that I was in the arena for this show, sitting in the upper deck and lo..

REVIEW: NXT Stand & Deliver 2022: Mostly On The Second Part

Welcome to KB’s Old School (and New School) Reviews. I’ve been reviewing wrestling shows for over twelve years now and have reviewed over 6,000 shows. Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, I’ll be posting a new review here on Wrestlingrumors.net. It could be anything from modern WWE to old school to indies to anything in between. Note that I rate using letters instead of stars and I don’t rate matches under three minutes as really, how good or bad can something that short be? Stand & Deliver 2022 Date: April 2, 2022 Location: American Airlines Center, Dallas, Texas Commentators: Vic Joseph, Wade Barrett Somehow this is NXT’s first time on the road in over two years. It might not be Takeover, but it is one of NXT’s rare big shows and the card could look worse. NXT hasn’t had the chance to do something like this very often and at some point you need to just let them go out there and do their thing in front of a lot of people. Let’s get to it. I was in attendance for this show, sitting i..

There Is A Special Catch To A Recent Surprise NXT Title Change

It was a bit of a surprise. NXT has a lot of different things to make work as it is not your usual wrestling show. Rather than just standing alone as its own product, NXT also has to figure out a way to develop its wrestlers to be ready to move up to the next level. That can be made even more confusing when main roster wrestlers show up in NXT, which has been the case as of late. Now we have a better idea of what WWE is doing. This week’s NXT featured a surprise title change as Dolph Ziggler won the NXT Title from Bron Breakker in a triple threat also including Tommaso Ciampa. According to Wrestling Observer Radio, Ziggler’s title reign is expected to be a short one as it is designed to have Breakker win the title back on a major show. While not specified, this is likely NXT Stand & Deliver, which will take place on April 2 at the American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas. Opinion: I don’t think this is exactly a big surprise and it isn’t exactly a big deal as Ziggler pinned Ciampa t..

Who Will Induct The Undertaker Into The WWE Hall of Fame?

That will work. Ever since it was announced that The Undertaker would be the headliner in the WWE Hall of Fame, Class of 2022, many have been wondering who will be the person that inducts him. That question was answered on today’s episode of the Pat McAfee Show. Vince McMahon was a guest on today’s show and announced that he will be the one that officially inducts The Undertaker into the WWE Hall of Fame. You can see the announcement vai Twitter below: MASSIVE @WWE BREAKING NEWS… "I'm gonna have the distinction of inducting The Undertaker into the Hall of Fame" ~@VinceMcMahon#PMSLive pic.twitter.com/qbC6XBEGjb — ??at McAfee (@PatMcAfeeShow) March 3, 2022 From WWE.com: This monumental decision was destined, considering the close personal relationship Mr. McMahon and The Phenom have developed over the years. The WWE Hall of Fame Ceremony will take place Friday, April 1, at American Airlines Center in Dallas as part of WrestleMania Week. The event will stream live exclusively ..

WRESTLING RUMORS: WWE May Be Running Another Big Show On WrestleMania Saturday

They have a spot available. We are about six weeks away from WrestleMania 38 and the show is already starting to come together. Once Elimination Chamber is out of the way, we should be good to go for the final stretch of the Road To WrestleMania. These are some of the most important shows of the year for WWE, but another branch of the company has something to look forward to as well. According to the WrestleVotes Twitter account, WWE is planning to run NXT Stand & Deliver from the American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas on Saturday April 2. The show would be held at 11AM local time (12PM EST), or six hours before the start of WrestleMania 38. According to Wrestling Observer Radio, the show’s main event would see NXT Champion Bron Breakker defending against Dolph Ziggler. WWE has yet to announce the show. NXT TakeOver Stand & Deliver is scheduled for Saturday morning April 2nd from the American Airlines Center in Dallas. Local start time of 11am. Long day for fans who will attend Ma..

WWE Trying Something Different For This Year’s Hall Of Fame Ceremony

It’s a different way to go. We are officially on the Road to WrestleMania 38 and that means it is time to get ready for everything that WWE has planned. There are more than a few things to set up before we get there though and some of those things are more important than others. Some of them are more about the past than the present and this year, WWE might be trying something different. According to PWInsider.com, WWE is planning on holding this year’s Hall of Fame induction ceremony after the April 1 edition of SmackDown. The ceremony will be helped from 10:30pm EST until midnight EST in the American Airlines Center. Rather than a separate ticketed event, the show will be a bonus for the fans in attendance for SmackDown. WWE has yet to announce any members of the class. Opinion: This is a change of pace and it might be in a good way. If WWE is going to be running WrestleMania as a two night event, there are only so many ways to go to run everything in the same weekend. I think I lik..

REVIEW: Monday Night Raw – January 1, 2018: Feels Like It Was Just Four Years Ago

Monday Night Raw Date: January 1, 2018 Location: American Airlines Arena, Miami, Florida Commentators: Michael Cole, Corey Graves, Booker T. It’s a new year (yes it is) and that probably doesn’t mean much. We’ll be getting ready for the Royal Rumble in less than a month and tonight that includes an appearance by Brock Lesnar. Other than that we have Roman Reigns defending the Intercontinental Title against Samoa Joe and Cedric Alexander challenging Enzo Amore for the Cruiserweight Title. Let’s get to it. Alexa Bl..

REVIEW: Monday Night Raw – January 1, 2007: Star Power!

Welcome to KB’s Old School (and New School) Reviews. I’ve been reviewing wrestling shows for over twelve years now and have reviewed over 6,000 shows. Monday Night Raw Date: January 1, 2007 Location: American Airlines Arena, Miami, Florida Attendance: 15,169 Commentators: Jim Ross, Jerry Lawler It’s the first show of the year, along with being the go home show for New Year’s Revolution. That means things are going to pick up in a hurry, so we’ll start with….the Kevin Federline match. The best thing we can hope for here is that it is over in a hurry so we can move on to anything else, as the fifteen minutes have to be long past up. Let’s get to it. We open with ..

WWE Considering Multiple Plans For WrestleMania 38

There are options. We are getting ready to enter the final quarter of 2021 and in WWE terms, that means it is time to start getting ready for the build to WrestleMania 38. The show is set to take place at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, but there are several details still to be set in stone. It turns out that one of the bigger details might not be as set as assumed. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE is still considering whether or not to hold WrestleMania 38 as a two night event. There are discussions in place with AT&T Stadium over the possibility of having the event be two nights, with another option being a one night WrestleMania and the next night’s Monday Night Raw both being held at the stadium. There is also the chance that both SmacKDown and Monday Night Raw could be held at Gerald Ford Stadium in Dallas, as the American Airlines Arena will not be available for SmackDown due to a Dallas Mavericks game. There are benefits to both versions of the show. Check..

Main Event Results – July 22, 2021

Main Event Date: July 22, 2021 Location: American Airlines Center, Dallas, Texas Commentators: Kevin Patrick, Byron Saxton We’re back to the low slow this week and that could mean more than a few things. I’m curious to see how much this show has changed now that the fans are back to energize the company, which should be a nice thing to see for a change. Then again, I’m almost scared to see what we could be getting again. Let’s get to it. Opening sequence. Angel Garza vs. Drew Gulak They grapple around to start with Gulak getting the better of things off a headlock. Garza slips out and takes Gulak down instead, setting up a quick chinlock. Back up and Gulak hits a slam into a clothesline for two as frustration is setting in. It’s time to start kicking away at Garza’s knee and we hit a wacky hold to put Garza in more trouble. Garza fights up and hits a flapjack, followed by the running forearm. That’s enough for Garza to TAKE OFF HIS PANTS and the Wing Clipper finishes Gulak at 5:20...

Monday Night Raw Live Coverage And Results – July 19, 2021

Monday Night Raw Date: July 19, 2021 Location: American Airlines Center, Dallas, Texas Commentators: Jimmy Smith, Corey Graves, Byron Saxton The week of the fans continues as we have the first Raw in front of a crowd since March 2021. Smackdown and Money in the Bank seemed to go pretty well but this is the big test. This is the Raw that WWE has literally had months to plan for and they can put on their best show possible. John Cena is back and opening the show so they should have a good start. Let’s get to it. Here is John Cena to get things going as they’re starting fast tonight. Cena says he can still see some people coming in so come on down. After acknowledging a kid’s “I’m turning 11 and I’m here to see John Cena” sign, Cena says he missed us. Cena talks about what a group effort Raw is and how he was here last night for the end of Money in the Bank. Paul Heyman panicked, Roman Reigns didn’t know what he was supposed to do, Michael Cole was really happy and Pat McAfee still did..

REVIEW: Great Balls Of Fire: Mediocre Gracious

Welcome to KB’s Old School (and New School) Reviews. I’ve been reviewing wrestling shows for over ten years now and have reviewed over 5,000 shows. Great Balls of Fire Date: July 9, 2017 Location: American Airlines Center, Dallas, Texas Commentators: Michael Cole, Booker T., Corey Graves It’s time for the most oddly named pay per view in a long time and yes they’re actually going to call it this. Brock Lesnar is getting back in the ring for the first time since Wrestlemania to defend the Universal Title against Samoa Joe. This has the potential to be a war and that’s what the title needs. Let’s get to it. Kickoff Show: Cruiserweight Title: Neville vs. Akira Toz..

BREAKING: WWE Confirms Official Return To Live Event Touring In July

They’re back! The Coronavirus has changed the way wrestling works and it has not been a pleasant experience so far. The biggest change for the industry has been the lack of fans in attendance, but that seems all but done as the sporting world opens up again. AEW has already announced a return date for fans, and now WWE is going to be right behind them in a big way. WWE has announced that they will begin a return to live events beginning on July 16 in Houston, Texas. The event will be the start of a twenty five city tour and will begin with SmackDown, followed by Money In The Bank two nights later and Monday Night Raw the next day. No other dates have been announced as of yet and it is not clear which states will be hosting shows. * Friday, July 16: Smackdown – Toyota Center in Houston * Sunday, July 18: Money in the Bank – Dickies Arena in Fort Worth * Monday, July 19: RAW – American Airlines Center in Dallas WWE has not held a live event at full capacity since March 2020. Since the..

Main Event Results – July 4, 2019

Main Event Date: July 4, 2019 Location: American Airlines Center, Dallas, Texas Commentators: Byron Saxton, Renee Young It’s a holiday edition of the show and that isn’t likely to matter as this is mainly an international show. Things got a lot more interesting this week on Raw and hopefully that carries over to here as well. Smackdown was its usual slog of a two hour show but it’s not like Smackdown means anything around here. Let’s get to it. Opening sequence. Dana Brooke vs. Sarah Logan It’s trilogy time and we even get a recap of their previous matches. Logan kicks her in the face to start and hits a few slams, setting up some howling. We’re already in the chinlock, drawing a rare DANA chant. Dana sends her outside for a cartwheel elbow to the face, followed by the Wade Barrett middle rope suplex into a suplex. A headscissors sets up a rollup for two on Logan, who is right back with the standing Texas Cloverleaf. That’s broken up as well so it’s the cartwheel splash for two on L..

He’s Back! Brock Lesnar’s Monday Night Raw Return Date Announced

Why yes, he does still work here. To say that Brock Lesnar hasn’t been around very frequently on Monday Night Raw would be an understatement. Lesnar hasn’t appeared on the show in nearly three months and hasn’t defended his title since April 27th’s Greatest Royal Rumble. The latter seems ready to be changed for Summerslam but the former might be even sooner than that. What’s been going on in Lesnar’s absence? Check out our full Monday Night Raw results to find out. The American Airlines Arena in Miami, Florida is currently advertising Brock Lesnar for the upcoming Monday Night Raw on July 30. It should be noted however that some of the names in the advertisement are either misspelled (Rhonda Rousey instead of Ronda), injured and not on television (Sami Zayn) or no longer champions (Matt Hardy and Bray Wyatt). Therefore, there is a chance that Lesnar’s appearance may have changed. What’s waiting on Lesnar when he gets back? [This post contains video, click to play] Opinion: Well i..

Main Event Results – March 22, 2018

Main Event Date: March 22, 2018 Location: American Airlines Center, Dallas, Texas Commentators: Vic Joseph Nigel McGuinness I’m just going out on a limb here but I think Smackdown might get some extra attention this week. You know, because of that whole biggest story of the year thing that went down. There was good stuff on Raw too though, meaning we might not be getting a lot of original content this time around. Let’s get to it. Here’s last week’s show if you need a recap. Opening sequence. Curt Hawkins vs. Heath Slater Hawkins wastes no time in laying down so Slater can pin him but his “surprise” kick to the head is easily countered. A running clothesline puts Hawkins on the floor and he’d be more than happy to have Rhyno attack him for a DQ. Slater cuts him off but Hawkins cuts him off, followed by a chinlock inside. The comeback is cut off with a dropkick and Slater has to break out of another chinlock. There’s an enziguri to get Slater out of trouble and a neckbreaker is ..
