Vince McMahon Thinks Some WWE Wrestlers Don’t Need To Win

His opinion matters. Vince McMahon is the biggest force in the wrestling world and that has been the case for a very long time now. His opinions and ideas can shape the way the wrestling world works and that can lead to some rather confusing moments. Sometimes McMahon makes some decisions that feel out of left field, which was the case again when it comes to giving the fans something to cheer about. During a recent edition of his The Extreme Life of Matt Hardy podcast, Matt Hardy explained McMahon’s thoughts on giving babyface wrestlers major wins. Hardy told a story about how, at an unspecified time, the Hardy Boyz were scheduled to win the World Tag Team Titles in a Tables Ladders and Chairs match. However, McMahon changed the outcome because he felt the ending was too predictable, deciding instead that the title change would happen on the next show. Hardy summed up McMahon’s philosophy as “If you’re over as a babyface, there are times where you don’t need to win, it doesn’t make a ..

Jeff Hardy Is Going A Bit Old School For A Long Time

Take care of the veterans. There are a lot of wrestlers on the WWE roster and some of them are a lot more established than others. You can find some wrestlers who have been around the company for years now, many of whom have had quite the amount of success. It is easy to see what they can do for WWE, but now WWE might have done something different for one of them. According to Fightful Select, Jeff Hardy’s WWE deal has either been reworked or extended in some way, perhaps with a new detail entirely, as his contract will now expire in either late 2022 or early 2023. One of the changes to Hardy’s deal will see him getting to use his previous No More Words entrance music from his 2009 run with the company. There is no word on when the two sides reached a new deal. Hardy began wrestling for WWE in 1994 as part of the Hardy Boyz tag team with his brother Matt. Throughout his career, Hardy has won multiple titles in WWE, including three World Titles. He has also left the company from time ..

Matt and Jeff Hardy’s Father Passes Away

We have some sad news to report, as Claude Gilbert Hardy, father of Matt and Jeff Hardy, passed away last week at the age of 87. Matt took to Instagram to write a tribute in honor of his late father. An excerpt of that is below: Our Dad started out as our biggest critic when we first wanted to chase the dream of being pro wrestlers. After a few years of struggling & then finding success in the WWE, our Dad became our biggest fan. He was so proud to be “The Hardy Boyz Daddy” & recorded every match of ours on his VCR. Our Dad was a favorite of Hardy fans, even earning the nickname of “The Legend.” Jeff & I feel so blessed to have had our Dad live to be 87 years old. He got to see his children live out their dreams & give him many grandchildren to continue the Hardy name & bloodline. Early Tuesday morning, April 6th, our Dad passed away. Jeff & I were with him at home & by his bedside when he took his final breath. My brother Jeff was our Dad’s guardian angel the last couple of years...

Jeff Hardy Injured Over The Weekend At WWE Live Event

Flying leaps can take their toll. According to a recent edition of Wrestling Observer Radio, Jeff Hardy was injured at a Live Event over the weekend. Jeff, along with his brother Matt, were taking on the Usos on Saturday evening, when the injury occurred. Dave Meltzer reported that Hardy appeared to have suffered some sort of leg injury. This was evident at Sunday’s SmackDown Live Event in Rochester, Minnesota, as Jeff was in Matt’s corner and was said to be “limping significantly.” At the show, Matt defeated Jimmy Uso. Furthermore, at Monday’s Live Event in Sioux City, Iowa, Matt Hardy teamed with R-Truth to defeat Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows. The Dudley Boyz Put A Producer Through A Table For Interrupting Their Hall Of Fame Induction Speech

One last time for the road. To open the 2018 WWE Hall Of Fame ceremony, the first inductees to accept their place amongst the greats in WWE's history were D-Von and Bubba Ray Dudley. In what was an entertaining induction which kick-started with Edge & Christian doing the honors; transitioned to The Dudleyz bringing The Hardy Boyz on stage to take a bow along with Edge & Christian and themselves. Also, both Bubba Ray and D-Von payed homage to their ECW brethren for going to war with them as they made their names in the pro wrestling industry. As they were wrapping up their speech, The Dudley Boyz theme music hit a little earlier than expected. A WWE producer then came out and told the 9-time WWE Tag Team Champions that they had to wrap it up. That would turn out to be a bad decision for the producer as he soon ended up going through a table by way of The Dudley Boyz. This producer obviously never heard the third commandment... THOU SHALT NOT MESS WITH THE DUDLEYS! #WWEHOF @bull..

We have a show to put on, and a company and a brand. We’ve got things on our plate that are more important than sorting out the “Broken Brilliance.” I made a genuine effort to resolve something to benefit the Hardys as a goodwill gesture to Matt. It didn’t <strong><a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/tag/reach/" title="reach">reach</a></strong> a conclusion and we’re moving on. We’re not going back to it, I’m not interested in opening a new dialogue, I’m not interested in opening another conversation about it. Anthem Sports Refusing to Negotiate with The Hardy Boyz

<p>It doesn’t look like you will see the “BROKEN” gimmick being used by Matt and Jeff Hardy on WWE programming anytime soon, as Anthem no longer <strong><a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/tag/wants/" title="wants">wants</a></strong> to negotiate with The Hardy Boyz anymore.</p><p>While speaking to <a href="https://www.si.com/extra-mustard/2017/07/26/ed-nordholm-broken-matt-hardy-global-force-wrestling" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Sports Illustrated</a>, Anthem’s Ed Nordholm touched based on the on-going issues between Anthem Sports and the rights to the “BROKEN” gimmick. When asked if The Hardy Boyz initial investment of $3000 into the gimmick would change the dynamic of the ownership, Nordholm explained why he doesn’t think it does.</p><p><em>“No. The company spent millions of dollars producing television last year, including all of the <strong><a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/tag/shows/" title="shows">shows</a></strong> that incorporate the various aspects of the “Broken Brilliance.” I don’t know whether Jeff and Matt had some out-of-pocket expenses that they might have had on the volcano and the like, but that would not change, in any way, shape, or form, what their contracts say about who owns the IP. If they had some out-of-pocket expenses, they certainly never brought them to my attention. To suggest that they somehow funded the show is absurd.”</em></p><p>When asked about the possibly selling the intellectual property, Nordholm revealed that the door has been shut on The Hardy Boyz and they never plan on negotiating with them again.</p><p><em>“I’ve stopped thinking about this. We have a show to put on, and a company and a brand. We’ve got things on our plate that are more important than sorting out the “Broken Brilliance.” I made a genuine effort to resolve something to benefit the Hardys as a goodwill gesture to Matt. Reason The Hardy Boyz’ Deal with Anthem Sports Went Sour

<p><a href="https://www.si.com/extra-mustard/2017/07/14/matt-jeff-hardy-boyz-broken-wwe-impact" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Sports Illustrated</a> claims that The Hardy Boyz were willing to pay between $10,000 and $15,000 for the rights to the “BROKEN” gimmick. This same deal would have included a non-disparagement clause and the Hardys sending out a <strong><a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/tag/press/" title="press">press</a></strong> release to end the conflict on good terms.</p><p>As the deal was approaching completion, Anthem Sports reportedly <strong><a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/tag/tried/" title="tried">tried</a></strong> to pull a a fast one and wanted more out of the deal. One of the things they <strong><a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/tag/asked/" title="asked">asked</a></strong> for was 50% of all Hardy revenue which including Jeff Hardy’s art and music. The Hardys saw this as a ‘monumental heist and money-grab’ and the deal was not made.</p><p>The plan now is for Jeff Jarrett to stall the agreement in hopes that The Hardys will give up pursuing the case.</p>

<p>Matt <strong><a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/tag/hardy/" title="Hardy">Hardy</a></strong> took to Twitter to respond to a fan question about the <strong><a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/tag/legal/" title="legal">legal</a></strong> situation between The Hardy Boyz and Anthem Sports. This time around Hardy threatened to expose the company and mentioned that things would “get nasty” if they don’t wrap up the deal.</p><p>For those not following the story, The Hardy Boyz have been trying to work out a deal with Anthem Sports so that they can bring their “BROKEN” gimmick to WWE. Things between the two haven’t been exactly smooth between everyone involved.</p>

Reby Hardy Calls Out Jeff Jarrett — Says They Had An Agreement As of Last Week for “BROKEN” Gimmick

<p>Jeff Jarrett claimed that there was no deal between The Hardy Boyz and Antheme over useage of the “BROKEN” gimmick during today’s GFW conference call. Reby Hardy took to her Twitter account after word got out of Jeff’s remarks and posted a series of tweets:</p><p><em>“I’m going to have to <strong><a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/tag/start/" title="start">start</a></strong> ‘clarifying’ things by recording phone <strong><a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/tag/calls/" title="calls">calls</a></strong>, apparently. Everything out of this loser’s mouth is BS.</em></p><p><em>Why tho ?</em></p><p><em>We had agreement terms as of LAST WEEK. Included non-disparagement clause to the tune of 5k every time I tweet something about TNA…</em></p><p><em>…but according to @RealJeffJarrett, there is nothing ? OKAY ! ? Who’s up for another run of #f***ThatOwl shirts ? They’ll be up by 2mor.</em></p><p><em>I haven’t said anything FOR <strong><a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/tag/weeks/" title="WEEKS">WEEKS</a></strong>. Snakes.</em></p><p><em>‘Jeff Jarrett says…’<br />‘Jeff Jarrett says…’</em></p><p><em>OK, I’m seeing what he says, but what does he DO ? Well, make Del Rio champion, for one…</em></p><p><em>…I promise you, he knew exactly what was going on there. WWE Monday Night Raw Results – July 10 2017

<p>Welcome to Monday Night Raw, one night removed from the first-ever Great Balls of Fire PPV!</p><p>The biggest talking-point coming out of Great Balls of Fire last night was the massive segment between Roman Reigns and Braun Strowman. Braun won the ambulance match after Roman went for a spear and missed, sending him flying into the back of the ambulance allowing Strowman to close the doors. Roman immediately burst out of the ambulance and threw Braun inside, then proceeded to drive the ambulance into the parking lot and ram it into a production truck. Roman pretty much tried to kill Braun and walked away. Paramedics and firemen arrived and opened the ambulance up, allowing Braun to emerge bloody and beaten, but walk away under his own power. It was an incredible sight that would have been right at home in the Attitude Era. Braun looked like an absolute monster, and so did Roman…for the wrong reasons. Roman was undeniably heelish and the announcers played on this, so Roman will surely have to answer to Kurt Angle tonight.</p><p>In the main event of last night’s show, Brock Lesnar defeated <strong><a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/wrestler/samoa-joe" title="Samoa Joe">Samoa Joe</a></strong> after being beat down for the better part of the match. Joe attacked Brock before the bell even rung and smashed him through the announce table. Joe then had the majority of offence throughout the match until Lesnar caught him with an F5 and took home the gold. It was a really good match that never quite reached 5th gear. Word is that we will get a number one contender match tonight between Joe and Roman, leading to a match with Brock at SummerSlam. I think it’s fair to say Joe would be the deserving and preferable winner for most fans.</p><p>Alexa Bliss also retained her Women’s Championship against Sasha Banks last night, in a match in which she dislocated her own elbow to get a cheap shot on Sasha. In the end, Sasha won the match via count-out, allowing Alexa to retain. This certainly allows the feud to continue, seemingly into SummerSlam, where maybe Nia Jax will be inserted. There’s a lot of directions the women’s division could head in right now and it’s pretty cool.</p><p><strong><a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/wrestler/the-miz" title="The Miz">The Miz</a></strong> also retained his Intercontinental Championship last night against Dean Ambrose once again. Surely this feud is over now, it’s gone on well past its peak and I think interest is pretty much non-existent. The Miz will hopefully move on to a new opponent for SummerSlam, maybe Finn Balor. Speaking of moving on, <strong><a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/wrestler/sheamus" title="Sheamus">Sheamus</a></strong> & Cesaro beat The Hardy Boyz again in an Iron Man match last night. This has been a great feud but it’s expiration date arrived last night and it’s time for both teams to move on.</p><p>There’s a lot to be excited about for tonight’s Raw as we start our trek towards SummerSlam! Let us know your thoughts or feelings on our Ringside Talk app, or on the Ringside News app! Enjoy the show!</p>
