Yeah that might shake things up. There have been a lot of changes to WWE in recent months but the biggest change of all is still in the works. By the end of the year, the company is likely to have been sold to a buyer still to be determined. That is going to shake things up in a huge way and the future is not clear. That is certainly the situation for one of the company’s higher profile names. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: RUMOR KILLER On Vince McMahon Returning To WWE Creative During a post on Twitter, SmackDown commentator Pat McAfee questioned his future in WWE. McAfee cited his daughter being born soon, as well as the potential sale. Depending on the owner, McAfee was not sure if he “wanted to work/make money for those people.” McAfee took a hiatus from WWE to work on ESPN’s College GameDay but did return for one night to call the Royal Rumble. Pat McAfee Being Sued By Brett Favre, McAfee Responds

Let the games begin. Multiple news outlets are reporting that NFL Hall of Fame quarterback Brett Favre has filed three separate defamation lawsuits against Mississippi state auditor Shad White as well as national sports commentators Shannon Sharpe and Pat McAfee. From ESPN: Favre became involved in [a] public fraud case in 2020 after investigators in White’s office discovered that at least $77 million in public money from Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) funds, earmarked for the neediest families in the state, instead was used to line the pockets of rich and powerful Mississippians. According to a state audit and civil lawsuit in which Favre and dozens of others are named as defendants, Favre was paid $1.1 million in TANF funds for speeches White has said Favre never made. Favre eventually paid the money back, but the state auditor demanded Favre also pay $228,000 in interest. The big return? There were several major wrestling stories last year but the biggest in AEW was the backstage fight after All Out, which resulted in several suspensions. Most of the people involved have since returned to AEW television, save for former World Champion CM Punk. In addition to his suspension, Punk has been recovering from a torn tricep muscle. Now we have a bit better idea about his possible future. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: A Step Up: AEW Announces International Television Deal With ESPN According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Punk is still not cleared to compete. Punk was injured in September and required about eight months of recovery, which would see him possibly cleared to return around May. There is also the suspension, which AEW has yet to lift. As a result, there is a lot more big budget wrestling to be seen in the United States, but that is far from the only place wrestling can be enjoyed. Now AEW is getting to move into a new market with a big international deal. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: One More: 51 Year Old Former World Champion Announces Planned Return To The Ring AEW has announced that it has reached a deal with ESPN to broadcast its events in Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific Islands. The content will begin airing on February 16, with Dynamite on Thursdays and Rampage on Saturdays. The company’s pay per views will also be available on a delayed basis. Harwood said that he felt Fish was taking advantage of him during a match. The match also involved Harwood punching Kyle O’Reilly, who Harwood felt was getting involved in the altercation with Fish. Harwood said that the two had to be separated backstage but thirty minutes later, the two hugged and were fine.
