Of Course: 60 Year Old WWE Legend Inducts Himself Into Hall Of Fame, Accuses Miz Of Theft

It’s part of his thing. There are certain wrestlers who become popular with the fans for one reason or another, but in some cases their popularity rises after they hang up their boots. It can be rather interesting to see what a wrestler comes up once their career is over. This is certainly true with a former WWE star, who now thinks that his gimmick has been stolen by someone who came along later. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: BREAKING: WWE Possibly NXT Women’s Title, New Champion To Be Crowned Former WWE star Virgil has taken to Instagram, announcing that he has been inducted into the WWE Hall Of Fame. He thanked his favorite opponents in the business, including names such as Andre the Giant, Randy Savage and Bret Hart, along with the “million dollar dandy El Dandy”. Finally, Virgil thanked Damage CTRL for allowing him to be their hero and accused the Miz of stealing his gimmick. There is nothing to suggest that WWE has inducted Virgil into the Hall Of Fame. A Tribute To Insult? Grayson Waller Takes Surprising Shot At Shawn Michaels After NXT

I guess he isn’t a fan. WWE has been undergoing a variety of changes in recent months and there is nothing to suggest that those changes are going to be ending anytime soon. While several of these changes have been taking place on the main roster, there have also been multiple changes in NXT. One of them does not seem to have set well with a top NXT star though and he let fans know about it this week. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Not Interested: Fans Sound Off On Speculation Of Eva Marie WWE Return (And They Aren’t Happy) The ending segment of this week’s NXT saw Grayson Waller call out NXT Champion Bron Breakker for a fight. Breakker appeared and speared Waller, only to knock himself unconscious as Waller revealed that he was wearing a bullet proof vest. Following the show, Waller tweeted a photo of the ending, plus a photo of Bret Hart doing the same thing to Goldberg in 1999. Waller said “That was for all the flops backstage at NXT that kiss Shawn Michaels ass every single day”. Michael..

Road Dogg On Bret Hart: “I Don’t Think Bret Was That Great Of A Wrestler”

That’s an interesting take. There are a lot of different styles of wrestling, some of which can be on opposite sides of the spectrum. A wrestler might be a brawler, a grappler, a technician, a high flier or some combination of styles mixed together. You know one of the greats when you see one, but it turns out that one legend does not think so highly of another legendary name. During the latest edition of his Oh You Didn’t Know podcast, Road Dogg spoke about the Montreal Screwjob, featuring Bret Hart. Dogg said that he never got what the big deal was with Hart as a performer. While Dogg agreed that Hart was a much better wrestler, Dogg felt that he was a better sports entertainer than Hart and that he feels that is where the money is. Dogg went on to say that he did not mean any disrespect but he did not think Hart was that great of a wrestler. Here are some of the comments, with transcription courtesy of Wrestlingnews.co: On Hart’s abilities Compared To His Own “For me, personally,..

Bret Hart Names The Greatest Villain In WWE History (You Might Be Surprised)

That’s some high praise. There have been a lot of stars throughout WWE’s history but only a few have reached the top of the company. Those are the names that fans remember for decades to come as they have left a lasting impact on everything they do. Hearing from them even after they are retired can still mean a lot and now one of the all time legends has made a bold statement. During a recent edition of WWE’s Table For Three, WWE Hall of Famer Bret Hart said he never saw a villain in WWE who was as good as Jerry Lawler, who was also on the show. Hart and Lawler feuded on and off from 1993 until 1995, with the two squaring off in multiple matches, with their most notable being the Kiss My Foot match at King Of The Ring 1995. Opinion: You don’t get that kind of praise from someone on Hart’s level very often and Lawler deserves quite a bit of credit. There was something so dastardly about Lawler that it was easy to want to see him get pounded into the ground every time he was on camera...

REVIEW: Summerslam 1992: The British Classic

Welcome to KB’s Old School (and New School) Reviews. I’ve been reviewing wrestling shows for over twelve years now and have reviewed over 6,000 shows. Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, I’ll be posting a new review here on Wrestlingrumors.net. It could be anything from modern WWE to old school to indies to anything in between. Note that I rate using letters instead of stars and I don’t rate matches under three minutes as really, how good or bad can something that short be? Summerslam 1992 Date: August 31, 1992 Location: Wembley Stadium, London, England Attendance: 80,355 Commentators: Vince McMahon, Bobby Heenan Most of the older editions are in need of an update so we’ll knock out this one. This is one of the biggest crowds in wrestling history and they’re in for a pretty major show. We have a double main event of Randy Savage defending the WWF Title against the Ultimate Warrior and the instant classic of Bret Hart vs. British Bulldog for the Intercontinental Title. Guess what’s he..

There’s Your Dream Team: Bret Hart Manages FTR Over The Weekend

It’s long overdue. There are certain times when you see a pair of wrestlers who seem like they are a perfect fit. It might be them facing off or teaming together, but it can make for some fascinating moments when they finally make it happen. This can be all the more common in modern wrestling with different promotions around the world and that was the case again this weekend. Over the weekend, WWE Hall of Famer Bret Hart managed FTR at a Big Time Wrestling event in Webster, Massachusetts. The match saw FTR defeat Brian Pillman Jr. and Brock Anderson, who had Brock’s father Arn in their corner. This comes as FTR has been paying tribute to Hart, including indirectly referencing him in their promos. The show will be available on Fite TV at some point in the future. A celebratory tequila toast in Webster, Massachusetts with @BretHart and @DaxFTR after tonight’s wildly successful @BTWwrestling show. Be sure to catch the event on @fitetv – an announcement on when you can purchase and vie..

WRESTLING RUMORS: Possible Backstage Heat On CM Punk In AEW

That would be a problem. There are two different worlds in wrestling and only one of them takes place in front of the camera. In addition to what happens in front of an audience, there is everything that happens when the cameras are off. That can include backstage issues between the wrestlers and we might have seen one of them take place in front of our eyes. According to Dave Meltzer and Bryan Alvarez on Wrestling Observer Radio, there may be some backstage heat on CM Punk in AEW. The two both cited the promo exchange between Punk and Hangman Page this week on Dynamite, saying that it felt like the Shawn Michaels/Bret Hart exchanges from the Attitude Era. This is seen as speculation as the two did not say that there were definite issues between the two or heat on Punk for that matter. Opinion: That is quite a bit to infer off of a single exchange. There is a very real chance that AEW was trying to make the segment feel more like a worked shoot, which means that they did very well. M..

Important Detail On Bret Hart’s New WWE Deal

That makes things more interesting. The battle between WWE and AEW has certainly shaken up the wrestling world and that has been a good thing. In addition to providing fans with more wrestling content, it has also given those in the wrestling industry a better chance to make money. That seems to be the case again with a certain legend, and now we know more about it. Earlier this month, news broke that Bret Hart had signed a new contract with WWE. According to the Wrestling Observer newsletter, the deal that Hart signed is a merchandising deal. There is no word on what this means in regards to Hart being able to appear elsewhere, including potentially with AEW. However, AEW is reportedly operating under the assumption that he is not available, including for the Owen Hart Foundation tournaments that begin next month. Opinion: Whether he can appear for AEW or not, this seems to be good news for Hart. Anything that lets fans have some new Hart merchandise while putting some money in his ..

Good Reason Why Bret Hart Is Not Heading To AEW

The bidding war is over. Wrestlers have a bit of hard time finding a way out of the business. While there are some who have enough money to get out and not have to do much else, but there are several who have to stick around the industry for a very long time. Now a legend who has long since been out of the ring has gotten a new deal, which will actually keep him off of television. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Bret Hart has signed a new deal with WWE, which will keep him away from all AEW events. Hart will still be allowed to appear at independent shows, but will likely not be able to appear as part of AEW’s Owen Hart Foundation tournaments. It also ends the speculation about Hart coming in to AEW to manage FTR. There is no word on how long the new deal lasts or if it will appear on WWE television more often. Opinion: This is the kind of thing that can be rather nice to see as Hart gets a great payday and a contract that he should be able to live off of for a long t..

It’s Happening: Bret Hart Confirmed To Manage FTR

There is your dream team. There are certain wrestlers who seem like they would be perfect together and occasionally you get to see them working together. That can make for some outstanding moments if you can wait long enough to actually see them. There is a current pairing that fans have been clamoring for and now we will be getting to see it, albeit on a slightly smaller stage. Big Time Wrestling in Webster, Massachusetts has announced that Bret Hart will be managing FTR in a tag match against Brian Pillman Jr. and Brock Anderson on June 10. Arn Anderson will be in the corner of Pillman and Anderson, Arn’s son. This comes after several weeks of speculation of Hart coming to AEW to manage FTR. There is no word on if this will be done again elsewhere. FTR will FINALLY get their chance to be managed by Bret Hart when they take on the team of Brian Pillman Jr & Brock Anderson with Arn Anderson! It happens on Friday June 10th in Webster, Ma! Tickets on sale now! https://t.co/qvco5Oo30..

Bret Hart Praises Brock Lesnar And Slams Goldberg

That’s quite the shot. Wrestlers can come in all different shapes and sizes, meaning that they are going to wrestle all kinds of styles. It makes sense for wrestlers with different physical abilities to wrestle in different ways, as it makes sense to play to your strengths. However, the wrestlers also have to keep their opponents safe, which led one legend to criticize another. WWE Hall of Fame Bret Hart took part in a virtual signing for Signed By Superstars. During the signing, Hart mentioned that his niece Natalya had told him that Brock Lesnar saw Hart as his dream opponent. Hart responded by saying that he had always heard Lesnar was a good worker who looked stiff but took care of his opponents, unlike Goldberg. This is in reference to Goldberg superkicking Hart at Starrcade 1999, causing an injury which led to Hart’s retirement from the ring soon thereafter. Neither Goldberg nor Lesnar have responded to the statements. Opinion: I know it is has been over twenty years but I can ..

REVIEW: March To WrestleMania IX: They’re Marching The Wrong Way

Welcome to KB’s Old School (and New School) Reviews. I’ve been reviewing wrestling shows for over twelve years now and have reviewed over 6,000 shows. Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, I’ll be posting a new review here on Wrestlingrumors.net. It could be anything from modern WWE to old school to indies to anything in between. Note that I rate using letters instead of stars and I don’t rate matches under three minutes as really, how good or bad can something that short be? March To Wrestlemania IX Date: March 28, 1993 Location: Cumberland County Memorial Auditorium, Fayetteville, North Carolina Commentators: Vince McMahon, Bobby Heenan I don’t know how but the last three of these that I’ve picked at random have all been full shows. This time around it’s….well I think the name speaks for itself in this case. We’re about a week away from Wrestlemania IX and we get to see some glorified warmup matches. Let’s get to it. We start with the contract signing between Yokozuna and Bret Hart ..

Natalya Explains How Close She Came To Quit Wrestling

It would have been a big loss. There have been a lot of stars in WWE over the years but there are only some who have been around for so long that they become one of the company’s regulars. Some names have been around for well over ten years and they are still big deals in the company to this day. It turns out that one of them almost never got to WWE in the first place. During an appearance on My Love Letter To Wrestling, Natalya spoke about how she nearly quit wrestling after tearing her ACL in 2006. However, she was talked out of quitting by her uncle Bret Hart and future NWA owner Billy Corgan, who she met at Hart’s Hall of Fame induction and considers to be a good friend today. The two both told her to continue with her career, which included spending six months recovering from her injury. Natalya was signed by WWE less than three months after she returned to the ring and has stayed with WWE for fifteen years since. Opinion: It really is kind of hard to fathom that someone making ..

AEW Might Be Teasing Bret Hart Showing Up

That would be a big pickup. Legends in wrestling are a bit different than in other sports, as legends can still pop up to be a part of the show every now and then. The story has to be set up in the right way, but it is something that can be done. Having the right legend in the right spot can be a great thing and it might be happening again with one of the biggest names in wrestling history. This week on AEW Dynamite, the Young Bucks mocked FTR, saying they could bring in “the best manager there is” but it wouldn’t be enough to help FTR beat them. While not confirmed, this could be hinting at Bret Hart in, based on Hart’s “best there is, best there was and best there ever will be” catchphrase. Hart has appeared before for AEW, unveiling the AEW World Title at Double Or Nothing 2019. Opinion: I’m not sure if I buy this one, as Hart coming in would be a nice thing to see but not exactly necessary. Hart was not known for his talking abilities and it isn’t like FTR needs someone to handle..

KB’s Review: The Hall Of Hall

I’m not going to bother suggesting anything else this week. Over the weekend, news broke that Scott Hall has suffered three heart attacks due to complications after hip replacement surgery. On Monday, Hall was taken off of life support and passed away later that night. Today we are going to be looking at some different parts of Hall’s career and what made him the legend that he is. We’ll start with the big stuff, and by that I mean what Hall could do in the ring. He was a bigger guy in the Drew McIntyre size range and could work against anyone from Bret Hart or Undertaker, making him a very versatile star. That is the kind of thing that let him do all kinds of things against a variety of opponents and that was the case throughout almost all of his career. That was on display with the ladder matches against Shawn Michaels, both of which completely paved the way for ladder matches for years to come. Hall and Michaels had some of the most amazing matches ever, with the first being all a..

Scott Hall Passes Away At Age 63

We have some sad news to report tonight as WWE Hall of Famer Scott Hall has passed away at the age of 63. From WWE.com: A hugely influential Superstar, Hall began his career in 1984, performing with various organizations across the country before joining World Championship Wrestling in 1991 as The Diamond Studd. In 1992, Hall signed with WWE and introduced fans all over the world to the character of Razor Ramon, becoming a four-time Intercontinental Champion and one of the most enduring personas of WWE’s “New Generation.” He participated in memorable rivalries against Kevin Nash, Bret Hart, Shawn Michaels, and countless others, with his two Ladder Matches against Michaels at WrestleMania X and SummerSlam 1995 both considered all-time classics by fans and industry insiders alike. In 1996, Hall re-joined World Championship Wrestling and joined Kevin Nash and Hulk Hogan as the founding members of the nWo (New World Order), revolutionizing the sports-entertainment industry and ushering i..

REVIEW: Monday Night Raw – January 11, 1993: It Starts

Welcome to KB’s Old School (and New School) Reviews. I’ve been reviewing wrestling shows for over twelve years now and have reviewed over 6,000 shows. Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, I’ll be posting a new review here on Wrestlingrumors.net. It could be anything from modern WWE to old school to indies to anything in between. Note that I rate using letters instead of stars and I don’t rate matches under three minutes as really, how good or bad can something that short be? Monday Night Raw Date: January 11, 1993 Location: Manhattan Center, Manhattan, New York Commentators: Vince McMahon, Rob Bartlett, Randy Savage This is the first ever Monday Night Raw, making it the start of the most important weekly wrestling show ever. It’s also not the best time for the company, as things are getting rather dull as we move towards the 1993 Royal Rumble. Bret Hart is WWF Champion but there is a certain monster called Yokozuna on the horizon. Let’s get to it. Sean Mooney is on the streets of Ma..

Bret Hart Reflects On Being Inducted Into Canada’s Walk Of Fame

It really is an honor. Wrestling is unique among other sports as while there are championships to win, they can also be lost just as fast. There are very few accomplishments that stay with someone forever in wrestling, but the ones that do last are rather important. At the same time though, there are some things that are even more impressive than wrestling, at least according to a certain legend. Bret Hart discussed his induction into the Canada Walk Of Fame during a new interview with KESQ (ABC affiliate in Palm Springs, California). Hart said that while he has been inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame twice (on his own and as part of the Hart Foundation), this induction means more because he is representing an entire country. Hart also talked about what it meant to be a hero to children around the world, including Make-A-Wish children by being someone they could look up to on television. His induction will mark the first time that a wrestler has ever been inducted into the Canada Walk..

Bret Hart Receiving Special Honor For Charity

That’s a unique honor. Wrestlers have a weird celebrity status as they are indeed television stars, but there is a pretty firm limit to what that can mean. Ultimately, they are only wrestlers and it is very rare to see them move higher up in the celebrity world. It does happen every now and then, and this time one of them is getting quite the honor for the second time. The Calgary Hitmen hockey team has announced the second annual Bret “Hitman” Hart game, which will take place in partnership with the Prostate Cancer Centre of Calgary on March 5, 2022. There will also be a Prairie Wrestling Alliance wrestling event after the game. The game will see the Hitmen wear special Hart themed jerseys, which will then be auctioned off, with proceeds going to the Prostate Cancer Centre. Hart has done some great things in the ring. Check out some of his better moments: [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play..

REVIEW: Survivor Series 1997: That One Night

Survivor Series 1997 Date: November 9, 1997 Location: Molson Centre, Montreal, Quebec, Canada Attendance: 20,593 Commentators: Jim Ross, Jerry Lawler We had to get here eventually. This is the show that changes everything in wrestling, as we officially enter into the new era. It’s also the last appearance by Bret Hart in the WWF for nearly 13 years, as this show has the most infamous ending to a match and a show in wrestling history. You young people often hear references to Montreal? Well this is the show they’re..
