Former Wrestling Star Brutally Beaten By Six Men

According to CBS Los Angeles, former WWF wrestler Tom Magee was viciously attacked in front of his home over a parking spot. Magee, now 59 and a neighborhood watchman, was attacked by as many as six men. Magee suffered a broken jaw, a broken eye socket and a concussion. A unnamed witness and local resident described the brutal scene, stating, “They were literally kicking him, punching him in the face and in the head.”

She said six men attacked Magee and ran off when other neighbors came outside in response to hearing the chaotic scene unfolding outside. The neighbors rushed to Magee and found him incoherent.
“To me, it was attempted murder. If we wouldn’t have come out here I don’t know if he would be alive. To look at his face if you saw his face right now and saw what they were doing to him, he’s really lucky to be alive,” the neighbor said.
Update: Two of the six attackers have been..

Impact Wrestling Ratings And Viewership – May 17, 2018

It gets a little better. Impact Wrestling is in a weird place as they have several stories coming together at the same time. The problem is the fans might not be all that interested in a lot of those stories. The ratings and audience numbers have supported this over the last few weeks as well, with both sets of numbers being down on a fairly consistent basis. So how did things do this week?
Miss this week’s show? Here are some quick highlights.

According to 411mania.com, this week’s episode of Impact Wrestling drew a .07 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 329,000 viewers. These numbers are up 16% and 12% respectively from last week’s .06 demographic rating and 295,000 viewers. The audience is the best since the April 19 episode drew 373,000 viewers. This week’s show was headlined by a tag match between Austin Aries and Matt Sydal vs. El Hijo Del Fantasma and Pentagon Jr. It should also be noted that it was the first t..

Randy Orton Recovering From Knee Surgery

Those voices in your head might be the nurses and doctor. You may have noticed the lack of Randy Orton in recent weeks. While he was in a United States Title match at Backlash against Jeff Hardy, Orton hasn’t been around since the European tour started. It was originally reported that it was due to his lighter house show schedule and while that still seems to be the case, there’s another big reason on top of that.
Maybe he could do this when he comes back.

According to WWE.com, Orton recently underwent surgery on his left knee to repair a medial meniscus tear. The surgery was a success and Orton said that he needed it done since last year. At the moment there is no word on when he will be back in action. Orton hasn’t wrestled since the title match against Hardy and isn’t currently scheduled for any matches in the future. Opinion: To be fair, it’s not like Orton is really going to be missed week to week. He rarely has a..

The Miz Believes Daniel Bryan Never Fought For His Dreams

The Miz was a guest on CBS Sports’ In This Corner podcast, where he spoke about believing Daniel Bryan never fought for his dreams and remembered defeating John Cena at WrestleMania 27. The Miz first remembered main eventing WrestleMania 27 against Cena, where Miz entered and left as WWE Champion: “I have pinned John Cena at WrestleMania, and it was one of the most amazing experiences of my WWE career. To go into WrestleMania as WWE Champion and to walk out of WrestleMania as WWE Champion as the bad guy that people boo, that doesn’t really happen ever and it did with me because I make people believe.”
The former WWE Intercontinental Champion joked about annoying people with pictures of his new daughter, Monroe Sky: “I have annoyed my friends. Anyone on the footage. I have annoyed interviews, and anyone and everyone. I am just so proud. It is one of those—it’s exactly what everyone has told me about having a child. It is indescribable. I can’t describe how proud I am of this little gir..

How Did Kane Do In The Knox County Republican Primary?

The big red political machine. In one of the more interesting wrestling stories of the last year or so, Kane has been running for Mayor of Knox County, Tennessee, which would basically make him Mayor of Knoxville, Tennessee. While this may seem like a ridiculous idea, Kane is known as one of the smartest people in the wrestling business and may have had a shot to pull it off. The primaries were held on Tuesday and Kane’s name was on the ballot. How did things come out?
He certainly has a lighter side.
[This post contains video, click to play]

According to WATE (from Knoxville), Kane won the Republican primary by a final tally of 14,633 to 14,616 over opponent Brad Anders. While all of the precincts have been counted, the race isn’t quite over yet. The seventeen vote margin could be changed by a total of ninety three provisional ballots have to be dealt with. These ballots could or could not be counted as they have been flagged for a variety of reasons, includi..

Video: Daniel Bryan vs. Shinsuke Nakamura Takes Place After SmackDown

Would this be considered a kick off match? When Daniel Bryan was announced as being medically cleared to return to the ring earlier this year, the first thing that a lot of fans wanted to do was put together a list of potential opponents for him to face (I was one of them). The possibilities were looking more and more interesting time after time and that’s what we’re actually getting now. Three weeks ago we saw Bryan vs. AJ Styles and tonight after SmackDown Live, the fans in attendance got to see something special.
We’ll see this one again.
http://wrestlingrumors.net/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/Daniel-Bryan-Shinsuke-Nakamura.mp4 According to 411mania.com, the dark match after this week’s SmackDown Live and 205 Live tapings saw Bryan facing Shinsuke Nakamura. The match, the ending of which you can see above, ended with Bryan firing off the YES Kicks but missing the big one, allowing Nakamura to hit Bryan low for the DQ finish. This is their first match in WWE and..

Monday Night Raw Ratings And Audience – April 30, 2018

Up and down, just like Titus O’Neil. To say it’s been a busy month in the WWE would be a huge understatement. I can’t think of a month before with so much stuff going on at once. While this is certainly going to mess with the wrestlers themselves, it can also cause issues for the fans trying to keep track of everything. Even if they’re confused, all that matters is whether or not those fans are still watching the shows. So did this week’s episode of Monday Night Raw do well?
Miss the show? Here are some quick highlights.
[This post contains video, click to play]

According to 411mania.com, this week’s episode of Monday Night Raw drew a 1.08 rating in the 18-49 demographic rating and 3.066 million viewers. These numbers are up 3% and down 1% over last week’s 1.05 demographic rating and 3.104 million viewers. This week’s show was headlined by an Intercontinental Title match between champion Seth Rollins and challenger Finn Balor while also dealing with the fallou..

United States Title Match Set For Backlash

The pile just keeps getting bigger. We’re less than five days away from Backlash 2018 and that means we need to start cranking up the card. There’s only so much you can do with so much of the recent focus being put on the Greatest Royal Rumble but now it’s time to really start hammering things home. One of the best ways to do this is to set up some extra matches and if we can make it a title match, that might be even better.
The people involved were in action this week on SmackDown Live.
[This post contains video, click to play]

As confirmed this week on SmackDown Live, United States Champion Jeff Hardy will be defending his title against Randy Orton at Backlash. Hardy won the title in April on Monday Night Raw by defeating Jinder Mahal. Orton had won a title shot the week before by winning a triple threat match. The title match was to be against Jinder Mahal, who defeated Orton for the title at WrestleMania 34 but Mahal lost the title to Hardy the next week. ..

Stipulation Added To Backlash WWE Championship Match

We’re not quite done yet. One of the biggest feuds in WWE at the moment is Shinsuke Nakamura vs. AJ Styles for the WWE Championship. The two faced off for the title at WrestleMania 34 with Styles pinning Nakamura clean with the Styles Clash. After the match, Nakamura turned on Styles by hitting him low to turn full heel. Their rematch at Greatest Royal Rumble went to a double countout but now we have a third match scheduled. However, there’s a little twist.
They were at it again on Tuesday.
[This post contains video, click to play]

As announced by SmackDown Live General Manager Paige, the third match between the two will be a No Disqualification match. The match, announced the same day as their Greatest Royal Rumble match went to a double countout, will take place at Backlash this coming Sunday. The stipulation stems from Nakamura’s frequent low blows on Styles, another one of which took place tonight in a sneak attack. You can read the full results of this we..
