PHOTO: Former WWE Star Dramatically Changes Look

It’s an important factor. There are certain things that go into being a star in wrestling and one of the most important is having the right look. If a wrestler doesn’t catch the fans’ attention, it isn’t likely they are going to get much of a chance. At some point you have to do something to make fans care and the right look can go a long way. Now a former WWE star has changed his look in a big way.
Former WWE star Killian Dain has revealed a completely different look, now with a shaved head and heavily trimmed beard. Dain was released from WWE on June 25 and has since begun wrestling on the independent circuit, including in the United Kingdom. He wrestled for WWE and NXT from 2016 until 2021, including a stint on SmackDown as part of the Sanity stable.

More Details On AEW’s New Year Special, Including Original Plans

It’s in the details. There are a lot of wrestling shows every single week, with WWE and AEW alone running five weekly television series. Throw in their online shows and it is almost impossible to watch all of the wrestling available in a given week. Wrestling fans have all kinds of options and they will be getting a bonus early next year. Now we know a bit more about it.
Earlier this week, a rumor came out that AEW would be presenting a special show on Saturday January 8. According to Wrestling Observer Radio, the show will only run an hour in length, which goes against the original plans for pay per view length cards with high level matches. There is still a chance that this could change in the future though. This will be one of four quarterly specials, as modeled on WCW/NWA Clash of the Champions. AEW has not yet announced the special.
Champions are an important part of AEW. Check out how some of them have gone so far:

AEW Star Opens Up About Current Mental Health Issues

Talking about it can help. Wrestlers are an interesting group of people as their job is to play larger than life characters on television but they have to find a way to turn that off once the show is over. That is a lot easier said than done, but somehow they have to find a way to make it work. Sometimes certain things from outside wrestling can cause some issues in front of the camera and that seems to be the case again.
AEW star the Blade has posted a statement to Instagram, revealing that he has been dealing with issues of anxiety, depression and confidence. Blade mentions that he has had these issues all of his life but only realized it during the Coronavirus pandemic when they spiked. He has since tried to manage them on his own but recently suffered another spike. As a result he has talked to AEW management and is thankful for all of the responses that he has received from everyone. Blade has not wrestled since the October 11 edition of AEW Dark and it is not clear when he will ..

Interesting Hint About Brock Lesnar’s Next Opponent

That could be what’s next. There are certain wrestlers who catch your attention no matter what they are doing for one reason or another. It might be their mere presence, their ability to speak or what they can do in the ring. Sometimes it is a mixture of more than one, which is the case with some current WWE stars. We might know what one of them is going to be doing next.
Last week’s SmackDown featured Drew McIntyre defeating Mustafa Ali with a Kimura lock, which has traditionally been used by Brock Lesnar. According to F4WOnline.com, there was significance to this, suggesting that McIntyre will be Lesnar’s next opponent. Lesnar is currently serving a storyline suspension from WWE and is expected to be back in action at the Royal Rumble. McIntyre defeated Lesnar at WrestleMania 36 to win the WWE Title.
This could be interesting. Check out the two of them in action alone and together:

Jon Moxley Entering Inpatient Alcohol Treatment Program

I hope that he gets better really soon. According to a series of tweets from AEW President and CEO Tony Khan, Jon Moxley will be taking some time away from professional wrestling and entering an inpatient alcohol treatment program.
Khan tweeted out the following in regards to Moxley:
Jon Moxley has allowed me to share with you that he is entering an inpatient alcohol treatment program. Jon is a beloved member of the AEW family. We all stand with him and Renee, and all of his family and friends, as he shifts his focus to recovery.
Jon is making a very brave choice to get help, and we’re embracing his choice and supporting him however we can.
I’m proud to call Jon a friend, and like many of you, I’m also a fan of Mox and look forward to a time in the future when he is eventually ready to return to the ring. Until then, thank you for supporting Jon and respecting his privacy at this time.

Details On What Led To Bray Wyatt’s WWE Release

He had some reasons. There have been a lot of wrestlers released from WWE over the last year and a half with several of them being less than surprising. With so many names on the WWE roster, it made sense to see some of them go. At the same time though, there were releases who did come as quite the surprise. Now we know a bit more about one of the biggest names on the surprise list.
Fightful Select has more on the release of Bray Wyatt, who was let go from the company on July 31. Wyatt last wrestled at WrestleMania 37 against Randy Orton and neither were said to be happy with the creative direction of their feud, which did not have a clear ending. As a result, Wyatt complained about the story’s creative direction, which may have caused Vince McMahon to dislike him. It is also believed that Wyatt was not Wyatt was not released due to budget cuts, as his merchandise sales and popularity were too high. As a result, several long time stars do not believe their jobs are safe going forward…

NXT Results – November 2, 2021

NXT
Date: November 2, 2021
Location: Capitol Wrestling Center, Orlando, Florida
Commentators: Vic Joseph, Beth Phoenix, Wade Barrett
We’re done with Halloween Havoc and that means it is time to get ready for…well I have no idea actually as I’m not sure what they’re going to do as far as Takeover goes. There were a bunch of title changes last week and now it is time to see where things go from here. Let’s get to it.
Here is Mandy Rose to open things up and Barrett is VERY happy to see her as the new Women’s Champion. She is very proud of her win because she is the best looking champion in the title’s history and she is still the baddest b**** around. Last week was a great night for Toxic Attraction and we see all of them holding up their new titles last week (Mandy: “D*** I’m hot.”).
Her girls aren’t here, so we cut to the back where the rest of Toxic Attraction is beating up Zoey Stark. Mandy is proud of them but wants some competition. Cue Io Shirai to say she’ll fight right now, b..

WRESTLING RUMORS: Update On The Future Of NXT Takeover

That’s a big step. There have been all kinds of changes throughout WWE over the last year and a half with one of the biggest changed areas being down in NXT. The show is now back to the developmental territory that it was before, which has marked quite the shakeup for everyone involved. There are still a few similarities to the old days though, and now we might be seeing another one.
According to Wrestlenomics’ Brandon Thurston, NXT will present the first Takeover of NXT 2.0 on Sunday December 5, though there is no word on if the Takeover name will continue to be used. NXT was reset as NXT 2.0 in September with several new wrestlers and nearly everything being changed. Takeover has been presented regularly since 2014, with the most recent taking place on August 22.
Tentative date for the first NXT 2.0 Takeover is Sunday, December 5, according to multiple sources. Have asked but couldn’t confirm if “Takeover” will continue to be the brand name.

Monday Night Raw Star Gets Name Addition

Maybe it’s what he needs. Wrestlers’ names are some of the most important aspects of their entire persona, as the wrong name can have quite the negative impact. At the same time though, having the right name can make all of the difference in the world, especially if the name is changed at the right time. That might be the case again with a Monday Night Raw star.
This week on Monday Night Raw, a vignette aired advertising that Veer Mahaan was coming to the show soon. This marks a name change for Mahaan, who had previously gone only by his first name. Mahaan debuted on Monday Night Raw earlier this year as one of Jinder Mahal’s enforcers but twas split off from him, as Mahal and Shanky were both sent to SmackDown in the WWE Draft. There is no word on when Mahaan will make his debut as a singles star.

Another Former World Champion Officially A Free Agent

Someone will be interested. While WWE and AEW receive most of the attention, there are still some outstanding wrestlers outside of the major two companies. It can be a lot of fun to watch these stars come up through the ranks and showcase their skills, and thanks to modern technology, it is happening more than ever before. Now we are seeing one such wrestler hitting the free agent market.
Former Major League Wrestling World Champion Filthy Tom Lawlor has announced that he is officially a free agent. Lawlor posted to Twitter, thanking Major League Wrestling for the last four years. There is no word on where Lawlor will sign next, though he is currently the New Japan Pro Wrestling Strong Champion. Lawlor has been with Major League Wrestling for the last four years and is a former UFC fighter.
As of today, I am a free agent in the world of professional wrestling. Thank you to @mlw @courtbauer @MSL @beINSPORTSUSA for the time & effort they put in with me. But mostly I’d like to thank the..

WWE Is Doing Something Very Helpful For NXT Wrestlers’ Futures

It’s another skill. WWE has been shaking things up as of late and NXT has felt the changes more than anyone else. The show has gone from something close to the third brand of WWE television all the way back to developmental, which has made for quite the change of pace. There are several new wrestlers on the roster and it seems that WWE is giving some of them a bit of an unusual bonus.
While talking with Fightful Select, NXT Women’s Champion Mandy Rose revealed that WWE has been teaching NXT wrestlers about the production aspect of the television show. This includes bringing them into the production truck and explaining various concepts. In addition, the Monday Night Raw and SmackDown production teams have been teaching the NXT production team. Previous NXT wrestlers, such as Bayley, were also taught the production side of the show.
There is talent in NXT. Check out some of the better things going on there recently:

REVIEW: WWE One Night Stand 2007: The Gimmicky One

Welcome to KB’s Old School (and New School) Reviews. I’ve been reviewing wrestling shows for over twelve years now and have reviewed over 6,000 shows. Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, I’ll be posting a new review here on Wrestlingrumors.net. It could be anything from modern WWE to old school to indies to anything in between. Note that I rate using letters instead of stars and I don’t rate matches under three minutes as really, how good or bad can something that short be?

It’s what almost has to be the final cycle of Wrestlemania rematches and early summer stories. The build for this has not been great, which probably has a lot to do with it being a mere two weeks after Backlash. The card isn’t looking the best either, but maybe they can surprise me. Let’s get to it.
