Conor McGregor Not Retiring, Willing to Fight at UFC 200
Its a big relief for UFC fans around the world as the most popular UFC star and World Champion Conor McGregor has decided to walk back on his decision of retiring, a facebook post reads on the UFC star’s official page.
Conor McGregor wrote an almost 650 words statement which was posted on facebook and twitter saying that he is not retiring, all he wants is less promotional events as he wants to focus on his training.
The statement reads as follows “I am just trying to do my job and fight here. I am paid to fight. I am not yet paid to promote. I have become lost in the game of promotion and forgot about the art of fighting.”
McGregor said that he is what he is today because he has been working very hard on his fights and not promotions, but, in past few months feels detracted by lots of promotional events which resulted him a 15 wins streak loss earlier this year.
McGregor was Knocked out by Nate Diaz at UFC 196 Pay Per View.
The post further reads “I flew an entire team to Portugal and to Iceland to make my adjustments in preparation and fix my errors I made with the weight and the cardio prep. With the right adjustments and the right focus, I will finish what I started in that last fight. “
McGregor seems very angry with UFC and Dana White for calling him off UFC 200 that quick. He said that “I’m doing what I need for me now. It is time to be selfish with my training again. It is the only way. I feel the $400million I have generated for the company in my last three events, all inside 8 months, is enough to get me this slight leeway. “
At the end of the statement UFC Champion also cleared the rumours of him retiring by saying that he is not retiring and he is willing to go to UFC 200.
