That’s not a normal complaint. You can often recognize a star in the wrestling world when you see one and more often than not, it is someone who stands out. A wrestler who acts differently is going to get noticed a lot more easily and that can lead to a lot of success. That is the case with one of AEW’s top stars and now he is being recognized for his abilities. However, he isn’t exactly happy with the recognition.

ESPN announced its 2022 Wrestling Awards this week, with AEW’s Maxwell Jacob Friedman being named Promo Artist Of The Year. Friedman replied on Twitter, asking if he was getting a “f****** plaque for this bulls***.” ESPN’s Greg Wyshynski instead offered a DVD of “Lilo & Stitch 2: Stitch Has A Glitch” with a picture hanger on the back. As a result, Friedman said “go to h*** Greg.”

The rise has been led by a group of women who have become some of the top stars in WWE. Jeff Dye, Becky Lynch’s ex-boyfriend and the co-host on Wrestling With Freddie, discussed the breakdown of her relationship with Charlotte on a recent edition of the show. According to Dye, the issues began to occur when the two women were feuding in 2018. The two would say things about each other in promos but then start to take the statements seriously. New home? WWE has so many different kinds of wrestlers around its roster that the stars can be spread across different unique shows. Those shows would be Monday Night Raw, SmackDown and NXT and the shows do not interact very often. While wrestlers will occasionally cross over, they rarely jump from one to the other full time. This time though, WWE is at least thinking about a move.

According to Xero News on Twitter, there has been some “small” talk of sending Judgment Day to SmackDown in the upcoming WWE Draft. The brands are expected to be “heavily switched” though there have been talks of SmackDown staying “stable heavy”. There is no word on when the next Draft will take place, as WWE has yet to mention anything about a new edition. The most recent Draft was held in October 2021.

He has someone in mind. Now that we are over two years into Roman Reigns’ Universal Title reign, it is becoming more and more difficult to find a realistic challenger for his championship. Reigns has run through so many people that he is going to have to face people again. Now we might be seeing another top WWE star getting ready to come after the title one more time.

Two time WWE Champion Drew McIntyre appeared on the Namaste Drew show during a recent trip to India. In the interview, McIntyre talked about Reigns, bringing up Reigns time as a hero, saying “you used to be cool”. McIntyre went on to say that he should have beaten Reigns at Clash At The Castle and said that he would defeat Reign soon. There is no word on any future match between the two.

There have been several names who have not been around for quite a while, which can raise the question of whether they will ever be back. AEW star Paige Van Zant has released a video on Instagram where she says her doctors believe she has broken three bones in her foot rather than the previously thought one. Van Zant is currently signed to AEW but has only wrestled once, winning in a six person match at Double Or Nothing in May and not appearing since. There is no word on when or if she will return to AEW TV.

That’s a long time. There are all kinds of ways for a wrestler to be injured and you never want to see someone put on the shelf for any length of time. Some injuries can take place all at once while others are the kind of that build up over time. Both have to be taken care of though and now we know a bit more about a WWE star who had to go under the knife earlier this year.

Back in October, Tommaso Ciampa revealed that he had undergone surgery to repair his hip, which has since been mentioned on WWE TV. According to Fightful Select, the hip had been bothering Ciampa for the better part of a year before he underwent the surgery. There is still no word on when Ciampa will be returning to the ring. Ciampa last wrestled at a WWE live event on September 17.

He’s new around here. There are all kinds of stars on the WWE roster but the company has to constantly add in new names on a regular basis. The company can find talent from a variety of places and one of the most common is from other promotions. This could be from anywhere in the country, but sometimes WWE goes international, which is what they have done with another star.

This Wednesday, Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide ran their Noche de Campeones event in Acapulco, Mexico. During the show, Dragon Lee and Dralistico defeated FTR to become the new AAA World Tag Team Champions. Following the match, Lee announced that he had signed with WWE, with no word of what will happen to the titles. WWE later sent out a tweet announcing that Lee would be starting with NXT in January. Lee, 27, is a former Ring Of Honor Tag Team and Television Champion.

Bryan Danielson vs. Ethan Page Stokely Hathaway is here with Page…and hang on as here is MJF in a sky box to watch. The distraction lets Page jump Danielson, with MJF having his own mic to mock him for a bonus. Page hits a slam but Danielson is right back with a running clothesline. The chops rock Page and the kicks in the corner make it even worse. Page knocks him back down but Danielson manages to knock him off the top.
The top rope dropkick drops Page but Danielson has to knock Hathaway’s hat off. The distraction doesn’t work for Page, who gets dropkicked to the flo..

He wasn’t a fan. This year has seen all kinds of changes throughout WWE but the biggest change of them all has been the retirement of Vince McMahon. After decades of running the company, McMahon announced his retirement back in July, throwing everything out of whack. There have been several changes since McMahon left, and now we know one more thing that seems to have changed as a result of his departure.

According to Fightful Select, McMahon was against the idea of “no cut” clauses in WWE contracts. New co-CEO Nick Khan is said to be open to the idea, though there is no word on if WWE is including them more frequently. Maybe it’s him. Roman Reigns has dominated WWE over the last two years, holding the Universal Championship since August 2020. During his reign, Reigns has dominated the WWE roster and there have been very few people who have bee able to give him a run for his money. That leaves some former WWE names interested in trying their luck, and now another is interested in giving it a shot.

Former WWE star Matt Cardona, formerly known as Zack Ryder, posted a tweet asking what he should do in 2023. Cardona has discussed returning to WWE at some point in the future, though there is nothing to suggest that a return is imminent or even officially being negotiated.

What could have been. Celebrities have been a part of WrestleMania throughout the event’s history. You will almost always see some sort of celebrity involvement at the show and it can be fascinating to see someone come into the wrestling world. It can make for some interesting moments, and now we have an idea of what one celebrity could have done to make his WrestleMania appearance a special one.
