It’s time for the second week of the tournament and that’s not a bad thing. This is the kind of show that is far better when they go with straight wrestling and minimal storytelling, which is what you get in a tournament setting. Tonight we get the second half of the first round, meaning we’ll be down to four by the end of the night. Let’s get to it.

Video on Oney Lorcan, a surprise entrant in the tournament. He’s been on 205 Live before, albeit in a one off appearance the night after Wrestlemania 33. Lorcan says he can adapt his style to any opponent. He could see himself defeating Buddy Murphy for the Cruiserweight Championship.

Ronda Rousey has taken aim at WWE and she’s not holding back. More importantly, she’s also taking aim at the fans. While all of this is to be expected when a Superstar turns heel, this situation is a bit different. But why? This is not just any ordinary heel. This is Ronda Rousey. The Baddest Woman on the Planet had a Hall of Fame pedigree long before she ever stepped into a WWE ring and she also had mainstream sports approval to go along with it. Rousey was the real deal before and she’s definitely the real deal now. But is all of this going too far?
Many WWE fans would probably say yes, mostly because of Rousey’s recent interview on her social media. She was asked about her promo from the March 4 edition of Monday Night Raw in which she turned on the WWE Universe. But according to Rousey, this was not a promo at all.

Several NXT Superstars have made themselves known to the WWE Universe on RAW and SmackDown Live over the past few months. In fact, a number of these Superstars are expected to transition into full-time members of the main roster in the coming months. This includes Lars Sullivan.
As some fans may recall, Sullivan has been promoted as coming to the main roster since Survivor Series last year. He’d reportedly been planned to have a reveal alongside the other competitors who were soon bundled with him the month after, but Vince McMahon had decided to air the packages a month earlier.

It was recently confirmed that legendary commentator and WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross would be departing WWE yet again. He has now opened up about that departure.
Ross initially confirmed he would be ending his relationship with WWE amicably during his podcast. The commentator had returned to WWE during WrestleMania 33 and was used sparingly throughout this run with the company.
In a definitive message to his Instagram account, Ross reminded his followers that there is no animosity between he and WWE. Rather, he is grateful for everything the company and, in particular, Vince McMahon has done for him. It is, quite simply, time for him to move on to the next chapter.
He had the following to say:
“Sad to see how some are looking for “dirt” as to why I will no longer be with WWE. WWE and I are parting ways with no animosity.
As I said on my podcast on Westwood One, I can’t thank Vince McMahon enough for how he looked over Jan and me for the last 25+ years. I will be forever grateful. ..

The past few years have educated the wrestling world on concussion-related injuries. Specifically, research into Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy (CTE) has helped athletes all over the world understand the effects of such incidents as concussions on their body.
CTE is known to be a progressive degenerative disease often found due to repetitive brain trauma. This is consistent with athletes such as football players and, as you could imagine, wrestlers.
Christopher Nowinski, the co-founder and President of the Concussion Legacy Foundation (CLF) was a guest on a recent edition of Busted Open Radio. During the show, Nowinski went into detail as to what the foundation does and what work they’ve been able to accomplish.

It had been previously reported that The Undertaker will be making an appearance at the 2nd Starrcast event, which will take place in Las Vegas on May 23-26. The event is also taking place at the same time and city that AEW is having their “Double or Nothing” event.
While most people are excited about this appearance, the boss is not.
According to the latest episode of Wrestling Observer Radio, Vince McMahon is upset about The Undertaker appearing at a non-WWE show.

One of the most exciting moments of this week’s WWE programming was the arrival of four NXT Superstars to the main roster. Aleister Black, Johnny Gargano, Tommaso Ciampa and Ricochet not only all performed on Raw and Smackdown Live this week, but they also won all of their matches.
But what does the future hold?
According to the latest edition of Wrestling Observer Radio, Black, Gargano, Ciampa and Ricochet will be performing on Raw, Smackdown and NXT for the foreseeable future. The idea is that these four are being given major pushes on the main roster.

Well it could have been worse. You never know when someone is going to suffer an injury in wrestling. Some of them can be a lot worse than others, but when you have someone who has already suffered a severe injury in the first place, it makes things even worse. It makes the waiting period after someone gets hurt all the worse as you never know what it’s going to be. That was the case on Tuesday, but now we know some more.
According to Ringsidenews.com, Tommaso Ciampa is not severely injured after what looked to be a bad spot on SmackDown Live. On this week’s show, Ciampa suffered a scary moment as his knee seemed to buckle on a sunset bomb to Sheamus during a tag match. Ciampa immediately grabbed his knee and had to tag out, though he did finish the match. Back in 2017, Ciampa suffered a torn ACL that put him on the shelf for nearly a year.

This is ridiculous. We’ve all heard stories about WWE changing the script for Monday Night Raw in the middle of the day, usually just a few hours before the show is set to go on the air. It creates quite the sense of chaos and can mess up almost everything that has been set up already. Well now it turns out that things have gone a step further on an even bigger stage.
According to Wrestling Observer Live, WWE made a change to the first match at the Elimination Chamber pay per view after the show was already underway. The announce team received a new format sheet with a changed finish, though it isn’t clear if the change was to the Kickoff Show match or the pay per view opener, though the Women’s Tag Team Title match seems more likely. There is no indication if the winner was changed or just the way the eliminations took place.

Can you count to ten? Over the last few weeks there have been very few stories more interesting than a huge group of WWE wrestlers trying to get a release from WWE. While none of them have been successful yet and there have been some questions about how accurate some of the requests have been, we now have one that is straight from the horse’s mouth. Or wrestler’s fingers in this case.
In a new post on his Instagram, Tye Dillinger says that he has requested his release from WWE. While he doesn’t say one way or another, the way he words the statement makes it sound like the request was granted. Dillinger has been on the main roster for just shy of two years and has had rather limited success, with his high point being a few shots at the United States Title.
