In His Own Words. CM Punk Has A Good Laugh At Fans Who Think He’s AEW Bound.

Well, he did answer. Ever since the announcement of AEW, the one major name on a lot of fans’ minds has been CM Punk. While Punk has not wrestled since 2014, fans have talked about the possibility of him returning to the ring for AEW as one of their top stars. Punk has responded so some of the fans’ comments on Twitter and that is the case again this time, in a more amusing way.
Earlier this week, Punk was asked on Twitter about whether he would appear at All Out on August 31. The event will be held in Punk’s hometown of Chicago and a fan got in on the sarcasm by asking if Punk would disappoint his fans by not showing up. Punk replied with a simple “yes”, followed by responding to some more tweets about returning to the ring and his attitude towards wrestling now that he is retired.

Wrong. Not resentful at all. Appreciative of everything that’s happened on my journey. We are all fleeting things. Enjoy it.

That’s A Surprise….Maybe? Report: The Number Of WWE Stars Who Have Talked To AEW “Would Blow Your Mind.”

I’m almost worried about the actual number. The wrestling landscape has changed dramatically in the last few months, with the emergence of AEW offering a legitimate alternative for several wrestlers. That has caused WWE to be faced with competition for the first time in a long time. With that comes some choices for the WWE roster and as it turns out, some of them are interested.
According to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, a high amount of people on the WWE roster have contacted AEW, to the point where it would “blow your mind”. WWE is offering quite a bit of money to keep the talent but some of them are turning it down. Names such as Dustin Rhodes and Shawn Spears have left, though others have re-signed, such as the Usos and Mike and Maria Kanellis.
This is the kind of thing they seem to want to do. Check out Cody’s symbolic attack on WWE from Double Or Nothing:

Not Happening. Big WWE Name Slams Door On Going To AEW Or Returning To The Ring.

That’s quite the turnaround. Batista is certainly a big name in WWE, but he’s becoming a bigger name in Hollywood as well. After playing Drax the Destroyer in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, he is moving on to some different kinds of roles going forward. Earlier this year he got back in the ring for one more match, but would he get in the ring again for one more one more match?
Batista was recently interviewed by Chris Van Vliet and discussed his retirement from wrestling. He made it very clear that he was done with having matches, though he would be open to returning to the company in another role, such as being inducted into the Hall of Fame. Batista also made it clear that he would not go and work for another wrestling company, including AEW.
He has more to say about it than just that. Check out the full interview here:

Opinion: I can’t say I blame Batista for not wanting to wrestle again. Factoring in his age (50) and the way the match ..

Was Once Enough? Update On Blood And Swearing In AEW.

You have to draw the line somewhere. Whether you’re a fan of AEW or not, it is hard to argue that Double Or Nothing worked quite well. The show seemed to draw a nice audience and the show received a fair bit of praise from most critics. However, there is more to AEW than one pay per view, which means things that worked there might not work out as well in the future. That is something that one of their stars has addressed.
According to Fightful.com by way of Ringsidenews.com, Jimmy Havoc has said that AEW will have less blood and swearing going forward. This comes after Dustin Rhodes’ heavy amount of blood loss at Double Or Nothing. There is no word on whether or not bleeding will be banned, or if this will be the case on both pay per views or the upcoming television show on TNT.
Havoc loves to fight. Check him out in Monster’s Ball in Impact Wrestling:

The Roster Grows Again. Two WWE Stars Back On The Road After An Absence.

Welcome back. You never know what kind of things might happen in wrestling to take someone off television. There might be an injury, there might be a storyline issue or it might be a personal matter that keeps talent out of the ring. Unfortunately it was the latter recently that took two big WWE stars off the road, but that hiatus already seems to be coming to an end.
According to Ringsidenews.com, Andrade and Charlotte are back on the road after a brief absence to deal with the death of Andrade’s mother, who passed away on June 7. The two missed this week’s SmackDown Live but Charlotte is scheduled for the live event in Denver on Saturday night and both are scheduled for the Sunday night show in Salt Lake City. Only Charlotte is scheduled for Tuesday’s SmackDown Live and it is not clear when Andrade will be back on television.
Andrade was ready to go before the bad news broke. Check him out before Super ShowDown:

The Downfall of The Revival in WWE: Harmless Comedy, or Spiteful Booking?

The Revival is currently the most ridiculous tag team in WWE. That’s no easy feat, especially in a company that often features one bit of silliness after another. It’s not that Scott Dawson and Dash Wilder set out to become clowns. In fact, that was never their intention and everyone knows it. But then again, everyone also knows that when it comes to doing business in WWE, no one is above the company. So the moment Dash and Dawson asked for their release, became the moment when their careers took an instant downturn. Of course, they weren’t exactly headed to the top before they fell. The truth is that WWE has never really given them much. But why is that?
There’s a lot for fans to unpack in this story and it seems to get worse every week. If The Revival had only been underused and that was their plight in WWE, then fans wouldn’t have much to deal with. It would be the same story that everyone’s heard for years. It’s the same story that will probably always be told about one Superstar ..

AEW To Enter The UK Market, Announces PPV And Possible TV Deal

Let the momentum continue. According to the latest issue of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, AEW will be entering the UK Market with its upcoming Double or Nothing pay-per-view event.
They recently announced that Double or Nothing will be carried in the UK from 1 to 5 a.m. early Sunday morning, May 26, on ITV Box Office for 14.95 pounds ($19.44 U.S.). It should be noted that the UK traditionally has far cheaper PPV prices than the U.S., Canada and Australia, whether it be boxing or WWE.
In addition, there will be a one hour pre-show, called “BUY-IN”, at midnight airing on ITV 4, featuring the Casino Battle Royale as well as a singles match with Sammy Guevara vs. Kip Sabian.
Check out the latest episode of their road to Double or Nothing:
The ITV 4 deal is leading to speculation that it would carry AEW’s weekly shows. A deal is not currently in place, however.
Editor’s Thoughts:
I can see AEW being huge in the UK market. They have a large fan base of rabid fans, and many people ..

The Most Entertaining Thing You Will See Today: Big E. Has A Crush On Becky Lynch’s Mom.

You don’t see this every day. There are some things in wrestling that you don’t know how to explain and you don’t know what to say about. That is the case again with a discussion between two current WWE stars, though in this case one of their mothers is involved as well. This isn’t something that you are going to see every day, but in this case, everyone seems to be having a good time.
With WWE in Europe for their annual tour, Becky Lynch was able to go home and visit her family, including her mother. A photo of the two together caught Big E.’s attention and triggered a back and forth discussion on Twitter between Big E. and Lynch involving Big E. being impressed by Lynch’s mother’s looks. The discussion seems to be in good fun and nothing comes across as angry or mean spirited. Here is the exchange, which is quite the sight to behold:

The Other Half’s Side. Sasha Banks’ Husband Weighs In On Banks’ Absence.

As close to the source as you can get. Sasha Banks has not been seen in WWE since WrestleMania 35 and that doesn’t seem to be changing any time soon. Banks is reportedly very unhappy at having to drop the Women’s Tag Team Titles at the show, which seemed to be the last straw for her. Since then, various reports have come out about what happened, and now someone very close to her is adding his thoughts.
Banks’ husband Sarath Ton recently took to social media to talk about his wife’s issues, including saying on Twitter that no tantrum ever happened. This refers to an alleged tantrum thrown by Banks and Bayley the day of WrestleMania when they found out they would be dropping the titles. Ton also continued on Instagram with a picture of Banks and a caption “Keep steady. No matter what you do, they’ll always find a way to justify their disdain. Let your silence speak volumes.” The statements would seem to suggest that Banks is not at fault for what happened and will not be speaking on the..

Get Your Names In Now. Rumored Names Eliminated From Running For Becky Lynch’s WrestleMania 36 Opponent.

It’s never too early to start planning ahead. We’re just over a month removed from WrestleMania 35 where Becky Lynch took over the women’s division by winning both Women’s Titles in a triple threat match. The win turned her into an even bigger star than she already was and all but guaranteed her a major spot at WrestleMania 36. So what might be in the cards for her?
According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Lynch is scheduled to have a big time match at WrestleMania 36, but her opponent has yet to be named. At this point, the opponent has not been named but it will NOT be Stephanie McMahon, Charlotte or Ronda Rousey, though if Rousey wants to come back and take the spot, it would be hers immediately.
So this won’t be WrestleMania. Check out Lynch attacking McMahon as only she can make work:

The Ultimate Rub. Vince McMahon Reportedly High On THIS WWE Superstar.

It’s the best thing you can have. While he may not be the most popular name in wrestling these days, there is no denying that Vince McMahon is the most important person in the wrestling world. Any decision that he makes is going to be able to change any career at the drop of a hat and if he’s a fan of yours, you might be set for a long time. It turns out that it might be the case with someone at the moment.
According to Fightful.com by way of Cagesideseats.com, McMahon is still high on Andrade, who was said to have gotten McMahon’s attention back in the fall. Andrade has since improved his English skills, which has raised his stock in McMahon’s eyes. At the moment, Andrade is scheduled to take part in the upcoming men’s Money in the Bank ladder match later this month.

Two Different Sides. Lars Sullivan Issues Statement On Previous Controversial Comments, Does He Have Heat In WWE?

This isn’t going to end well. At some point in their lives, everyone has said something that they regret. It might have been in the heat of the moment or something that they said when they were in a rather different place. In today’s world, that can come back to get them in a lot of trouble, and WWE is no exception to that rule. That might be the case with a rapidly rising star.
Late last year, news came out of Lars Sullivan making a variety of racist and homophobic statements on a bodybuilding forum. According to Wrestling Observer Live, the incident is considered over and done with in WWE, as Sullivan apologized and expressed regret over his actions. At the same time though, at least one member of the locker room isn’t exactly as accepting of what Sullivan has said. Big E. tweeted about the subject, saying that Sullivan will have to learn to deal with having to deal with a locker room full of minorities.
