It’s on top. With WrestleMania 39 on the horizon, there are some questions about the show that still need to be answered. This includes not only what is on the card, but what is going to be the most important match. While the second night’s main event if set with Cody Rhodes challenging Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Title, there is another main event spot that needs to be filled. Now we know a bit more about what WWE is thinking.

According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, there is some internal discussion about what should headline Night One of WrestleMania 39. Internally, WWE has not made a decision but Charlotte defending the SmackDown Women’s Title against Rhea Ripley has been pushed to take the main event slot. The push has come due to sponsors and “political reasons” after men’s matches headlined both nights of WrestleMania 38. WWE has yet to make an offic..

Is that a surprise? We are just over five weeks away from WrestleMania 39 and the card has started to come together. There are several matches already announced for the show but there are others that have yet to be confirmed. At the same time, you can probably guess some of what is coming on the card if you pay attention, and now we might know another match coming up.

According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Rey Mysterio vs. Dominik Mysterio will be taking place at WrestleMania 39. This will be the first time the two have ever faced off in a singles match. Dominik turned on his father last year and joined the Judgment Day. Since then, Dominik has invaded Rey’s home on multiple holidays, as well as interrupting Rey’s Valentine’s Day with his wife Angie. There is no word on which night of WrestleMania the match will take place.

That’s an amazing turnaround. You never want to see a wrestler get hurt as it can leave them out of the ring for a very long time. There are some incredibly serious injuries out there and some of them can take years away from a wrestler’s career. It can be quite the sight to see them get back in the ring and we might be on the way to seeing that with a wrestling legend.

Buff Bagwell was involved in a June 2020 car wreck that resulted in a variety of injuries, including a hurt knee. Bagwell appeared on Road Dogg’s Oh…You Didn’t Know podcast and revealed that if an upcoming test shows no evidence of infection in his knee, he can have a rod planted into it, followed by a knee replacement. If those procedures go well, Bagwell could return to the ring after he recovers. Bagwell, 53 years old, has only wrestled four times since his injury, most recently in October 2023.

That could slow her down. Wrestling is a physical sport and there is always the chance that someone is going to get banged up in one way or another. At times those problems are going to cause someone to miss some time from the ring, or at least possibly need to. That is the situation again, and now a WWE Superstar is waiting to see what she is allowed to do this week.

Natalya participated in the women’s Elimination Chamber on Saturday night. She has since posted to Twitter, revealing that she is feeling “a little beat up” after the match but promised that she will be at SmackDown. Shayna Baszler responded to Natalya, mocking her for being injured again and being upset over not being able to challenge Natalya for a match this week. Natalya responded as well, saying she’ll have to see what the medical team says she can do.

Put up the warning sign. We are less than forty days away from WrestleMania 39 and the card is starting to come together. If a match has not yet been announced, it might be something that you can probably guess from here. That makes for some interesting times on the way to the show, and now we might have an idea of one big angle that could be taking place before then.

Roman Reigns defeated Sami Zayn to retain the Undisputed WWE Universal Title at Elimination Chamber. Following the match, Kevin Owens saved Zayn from an attack but did not reunite with him either there, or two nights later on Monday Night Raw. Zayn has tried to bury the hatchet with Owens but it has not yet happened. However, according to PWInsider.com, the Coca Cola Coliseum in Toronto, Ontario, Canada is advertising Owens/Zayn vs. Reigns/Solo Sikoa for a WWE live event on March 4. There is no guarantee that Owens and Zayn will have reunited by..

So that’s what’s up. With so many wrestlers on the WWE roster, it can be easy for someone to get lost in the cracks. Sometimes a wrestlers will not be around for one reason or another but it might not be anything that bad. With multiple rosters throughout the company, there will be times when wrestlers jump from one to the other, which seems to be the reason for a recent absence.

According to Wrestling Observer Radio, NXT’s Cameron Grimes is on his way to the main roster. Grimes has not been seen on television since the November 8 edition of NXT, where he lost to Joe Gacy. There is nothing wrong with Grimes as he is only waiting for WWE to come up with a way for him to debut. Grimes made some short appearances on the main roster, where he hired the Good Brothers to help him in NXT.

It can happen to anyone. Injuries are one of the great equalizers in wrestling as any wrestler can get hurt and put on the shelf at any time. You never want to see someone get hurt and left out of the ring for any amount of time, as their time on the injured list could go on for awhile. Now another AEW star has revealed that he is hurt, but he has an idea of how long he will be out.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: One Step: Huge Update On Jeff Hardy’s DUI Charges, Case Closed
AEW’s Fuego del Sol has announced that he suffered a foot injury during a match in Sacramento, California last Sunday. The injury took place when del Sol hit a dropkick but his opponent landed on him, resulting in a dislocated foot. The foot was popped back into place during the match, but damage was still done. Del Sol also suffered a small fracture near his toe. He is expected to miss five to six weeks of action, though any possible ligament damage could extend his time up to about three months.

This week on Monday Night Raw, Rhodes came to the ring to discuss his match with Reigns but was almost immediately interrupted by Paul Heyman. According to Wrestling Observer Radio, this was done to prevent the fans from being able to chant for Zayn. WWE felt that if Zayn’s name dominated the segment, it would diminish Rhodes’ momentum. That wraps it up. Wrestlers have a lot to deal with on a regular basis and that isn’t even taking into account things outside of the ring. In addition to wrestling, they often have to deal with the same kinds of problems that normal people have to face. Sometimes those things are especially serious, like a problem that an AEW star seems to have taken a step towards overcoming.

According to Fightful, Jeff Hardy’s DUI case has been closed as Hardy pled no contest to the June 2022 charges. Hardy was facing charges of Driving While License Canceled/Suspended/Revoked, Violation of Restrictions Placed on Drivers License, and DUI Alcohol/Drugs Third Offense within 10 Years. He had been suspended by AEW until he completed rehab and demonstrated that he could maintain his sobriety, a suspension that is still active. Hardy has been find $4,000, plus $586 in court costs, by the court and is on probation for 24 ..

Mark your calendars. On average, WWE runs one Premium Live Event a month and you can usually pencil in a lot of the events. Some shows have been run n the same months for years now and there is nothing to suggest that they will be changing anytime soon. Occasionally you will see something else slip in though and that might be the case with a returning event.

Wrestlenomics’ Brandon Thurston is reporting that multiple sources have confirmed WWE will present Backlash on May 6 and King & Queen Of The Ring on May 27. WWE has not yet announced either show. Backlash, which has been called WrestleMania Backlash in recent years, is regularly the next major event after WrestleMania. King Of The Ring has been held on and off for several years, though it has only been a stand alone event once since 2002. Queen Of The Ring has never been held, though WWE did hold a Queen’s Crown tournament in 202..

Yeah that might shake things up. There have been a lot of changes to WWE in recent months but the biggest change of all is still in the works. By the end of the year, the company is likely to have been sold to a buyer still to be determined. That is going to shake things up in a huge way and the future is not clear. That is certainly the situation for one of the company’s higher profile names.

During a post on Twitter, SmackDown commentator Pat McAfee questioned his future in WWE. McAfee cited his daughter being born soon, as well as the potential sale. Depending on the owner, McAfee was not sure if he “wanted to work/make money for those people.” McAfee took a hiatus from WWE to work on ESPN’s College GameDay but did return for one night to call the Royal Rumble. There is no word on when McAfee is scheduled to return to WWE commentary.
