Top WWE Star Turning Heel In Surprise Move

That’s the plan? Summerslam 2021 has come and gone and the show has been receiving some mixed reviews. There were some good and bad parts to the show, as is the case with most shows that WWE produces. The event had its share of surprise moments which could inject some life into the promotion. One of them might lead to another surprise of its own though.
Becky Lynch made her return to WWE television at Summerslam, replacing Carmella as the challenger for Bianca Belair’s SmackDown Women’s Title. Lynch would go on to win the title in less than thirty seconds. According to PWInsider.com, Lynch will be the top heel in the SmackDown women’s division going forward. Lynch has been a heel before, briefly working as one in 2018 before being turned back again.
Lynch is back. Check out her return and what is coming back to WWE:

VIDEO: Another Former Champion Makes NXT Debut

The next step. There are several different levels to the WWE structure and you can see the path that a wrestler takes up through the ranks. You can often figure out how this is going to go, though NXT UK has added a new level to the ladder. Sometimes you will see a wrestler come from the United Kingdom and move up the ranks, which was the case again this weekend.
Sunday at NXT Takeover 36, Raquel Gonzalez defeated Dakota Kai to retain the NXT Women’s Title. After the match, former NXT UK Women’s Champion Kay Lee Ray appeared on the stage for a staredown with Gonzalez. While not confirmed, this would suggest that Ray has been moved to the NXT roster. Ray holds the record for the longest reign in the history of the NXT UK Women’s Title, having held the title for 649 days.
This could be a big one. Check out the title match, plus what might be coming for Gonzalez and the title:

NXT Takeover: 36 Live Coverage And Results

Takeover 36
Date: August 22, 2021
Location: Capitol Wrestling Center, Orlando, Florida
Commentators: Beth Phoenix, Vic Joseph, Wade Barrett
This might be the last version of the classic Takeover that we see and that is rather saddening. Takeover has been so special for such a long time but things in NXT are going to be shaken up in the near future. If this is it, they’re going out with a pretty big card, with three matches you could call the main event. Let’s get to it.
Kickoff Show: Ridge Holland vs. Trey Baxter Pete Dunne is here with Holland. Baxter charges straight at him to start and gets tossed with a suplex. Holland drops a knee and hits him in the face but Baxter is back up with a running knee to the face. A Tajiri handspring elbow is countered with a headbutt to the back of the head though and Northern Grit finishes for Holland at 1:45.
Result: Ridge Holland b. Trey Baxter – Northern Grit (1:45)
Post match Holland says that is a direct look into Timothy Thatcher’s future.

Roman Reigns And Mick Foley Argue Over CM Punk

Two sides of it. This Friday night on AEW Rampage, CM Punk returned to the wrestling world in one of the most emotional moments that you will see in a long time in the industry. The fans lost their minds over Punk’s return and it seems that things are going to be changing in a big way. It turns out that it wasn’t the only Punk moment of the week, though some people see him rather differently.
Earlier this week, before Punk made his return on Rampage, Roman Reigns was asked about Punk in an interview with BT Sports and said that Punk was not as “good or over” as John Cena or the Rock. Reigns also criticized Punk’s issues with part time wrestlers taking main event spots. WWE Hall of Famer Mick Foley responded, saying that “CM PUNK WAS DAMN GOOD, AND DAMN OVER.” Foley also praised Punk’s in-ring and taking abilities, while saying that if/when Punk returns to wrestling, he would be over again. Neither Reigns nor Punk have responded to Foley’s comments.

WATCH: WWE Announces Two Major Events With Special Settings

Mark your calendars. WWE holds a lot of events every year and some of them are a lot bigger than others. You have your live events and your television tapings, but then there are the pay per view events, which tend to be the biggest of the year. Sometimes though you get the extra special pay per views, and now we know when another one of each is coming.
During this weekend’s Summerslam, WWE announced two major events within the next year. First up, WWE will be returning to Saudi Arabia for Crown Jewel at some point in October, with no specific date announced. This will be the first WWE event in Saudi Arabia since February 2020. Second, Money in the Bank will be heading to Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada, the same location as Summerslam, over the 4th of July weekend in 2022. This will be the first time the event has been held in a stadium.
This could be big. Check out the announcements plus a look at what to expect from both:

NXT Takeover 36 Preview, Predictions And Thoughts

It’s weird to see NXT as the big closer for the weekend, as Rampage was big enough and then we had Summerslam for one of the most important shows of the year. That leaves us with Takeover: 36 and I’m really not feeling the card this time. It seems pretty clear that NXT as we know it is going to be going away, so this very well may be the big farewell for the current NXT. I’m not sure if that is the worst thing in the world either. Let’s get to it.
Kickoff Show: Ridge Holland vs. Trey Baxter This was added over the weekend and it can serve as the appetizer for the show. That is an appropriate description too, as Holland is likely to devour Baxter. The limited stuff I’ve seen from Baxter has been pretty good, but Holland seems ready to be elevated into a bigger star around here, meaning I’m pretty sure you can already figure out how the match is likely to go.
The monster is back:

Several Title Changes Take Place At WWE Summerslam

What a night. Summerslam has come and gone and just like every other year, the show was one of the biggest on WWE’s calendar. It was certainly a huge show and a lot of things happened on the card. There were a lot of title matches on the card and some of them saw the gold change hands. It was a busy night for the champions, but how did they fare in their defenses?
There were seven title matches at Summerslam with four title changes. The show opened with RKBro defeating AJ Styles and Omos to win the Raw Tag Team Titles. Second, Damian Priest defeated Sheamus to win the United States Title. Next, the returning Becky Lynch defeated Bianca Belair to win the SmackDown Women’s Title. Finally, Charlotte defeated Nikki Ash and Rhea Ripley in a triple threat match to win the Raw Women’s Title.
In addition, there were also three successful title defenses on the show. First, the Usos defeated Rey Mysterio and Dominik Mysterio to retain the SmackDown Tag Team Titles. Next, Bobby Lashley defeated..

VIDEO: Huge Unexpected Return Wraps Up WWE Summerslam

There’s your big moment. This has been a strange year for WWE as the fans have come back and the company has gone back on the road, meaning it feels like the real year began in July. That meant there was a lot of room to do something huge when they got the chance, which is where Summerslam came in. The show has come and gone, and the ending was a big deal.
Roman Reigns defeated John Cena in the main event of Summerslam to retain the Universal Title. After the match was over, Brock Lesnar made his return to WWE and stared down Reigns and Paul Heyman. Lesnar and Heyman were longtime associates in WWE and Heyman was scared to see Lesnar again. Following the show, Lesnar attacked Cena with German suplexes and an F5. There is no word on when Lesnar will next appear or have a match.
It was a big night. Check out what happened after the show, plus what is coming to WWE:

Here’s The Big Name Probably Heading To AEW

That would be a big one. We are still on the heels of the pretty incredible CM Punk debut on this week’s edition of AEW Rampage. Punk was the kind of star that you do not get to see show up on the show very often but it might not be the only one. It seems that Daniel Bryan is likely on his way to AEW, but now we might be having another pretty big name on his way to AEW.
According to Wrestling Observer Radio, Bray Wyatt is likely coming to AEW as soon as his no compete clause is signed. Wyatt was released from WWE on July 31, meaning he would be allowed to debut on October 29. The deal has not been made official yet and no deal has been signed, but the deal seems to be set. It is said to be at the same stage as Malakai Black’s deal before he officially debuted in AEW.
Wyatt would be a get. Check out what could be coming to AEW:

BREAKING VIDEO: Huge Return At WWE Summerslam, Card Changed

There’s your big moment. There are very few wrestlers who become the biggest star in the company but you know it when you see it. It makes for some pretty special situations and it can be made even better when it is something out of the ordinary. That was the case a few years ago but a few issues changed things. Now one of the biggest stars in WWE is back.
Saturday at Summerslam, Sasha Banks was unable to challenge Bianca Belair for the SmackDown Women’s Title for unspecified reasons. Carmella came out to challenge Belair instead, but Becky Lynch made her return and took Carmella’s place. Lynch went on to win the title from Belair in less than thirty seconds. This was Lynch’s first match since WrestleMania 36 due to maternity leave.
That’s a big one. Check out what is back in WWE:

Summerslam 2021 Live Coverage And Results

Summerslam 2021
Date: August 21, 2021
Location: Allegiant Stadium, Las Vegas, Nevada
Commentators: Pat McAfee, Michael Cole, Jimmy Smith, Byron Saxton, Corey Graves
We’re back in front of a full stadium and that could make things interesting. Throw in the fact that this is on a Saturday for once and there is a different energy to the whole thing. We have a full on dream match main event as John Cena is challenging Roman Reigns for the Universal Title so at least the big match at the end should be good. Let’s get to it.
Kickoff Show: Big E. vs. Baron Corbin A contest winner gets to read the introductions. Corbin has stolen Big E.’s Money in the Bank briefcase but doesn’t own it. Big E. suplexes him down to start and then does it again for a bonus. The apron splash misses though and Corbin sends him shoulder first into the post twice in a row. Corbin’s chokeslam is countered into a Stretch Muffler of all things but Corbin slips out. Corbin grabs the briefcase and tries to run off again..

MUCH More On CM Punk To AEW, Including What Made Him Sign

Call them perks. On Friday night, CM Punk made his AEW debut, marking his first major wrestling appearance in seven and a half years. That is going to get people talking, just like Punk having his first match set for All Out against Darby Allin. Fans have been waiting for Punk to come back to wrestling for a long time and now we know a lot more about how we got here.
According to Fightful.com, Punk spoke at a media scrum after this week’s edition of Rampage where he revealed some new details on his contract. Punk would not go into the full details of his deal, but said that he was there for the long term, with AEW President Tony Khan confirming that Punk was with the company full time and long term. There is no word on how many matches Punk is expected to wrestle a year.
In addition, Punk spoke about how he and Khan had gotten to know each other over the last year and a half or so. Punk wanted to know Khan himself and was not looking for specific money or amount of matches. He also w..
