MJF’s Promo On AEW Dynamite Sent A Woman Into Labor (And It Gets Better)

That’s a new one. While the name of the game is wrestling, talking is a lot more important than what goes on inside the ropes. Without talking and charisma, it can be rather difficult to get the fans to care. There are some incredible talkers in the sport today and you can see a lot of them every single week. That was the case this week as well, but I don’t think you’ve ever seen this result.
This week’s edition of AEW Dynamite featured a Maxwell Jacob Friedman in-ring promo. During his promo, Friedman talked to a pregnant woman in the crowd, who revealed herself to be Brian Pillman Jr.’s sister. Pillman Jr. eventually came down to face off with Friedman to end the segment. The following day, Pillman Jr. revealed that his sister began having contractions due to the promo and will be giving birth later this week. On top of that, there is a chance that Pillman Jr. and his soon to be born nephew will share a birthday. Pillman Jr. is scheduled to face Friedman at Grand Slam on September 2..

WWE Adds Main Event Title Match To Extreme Rules

We have another match. WWE will present Extreme Rules in less than three weeks and that means it is time to really get the card in gear. There are all kinds of things that still need to be set up for the show and that can make things a little more complicated in a hurry. WWE has already set up some of the matches for the show and now they have checked off another big box.
WWE has announced that Universal Champion Roman Reigns will defend his title against Finn Balor at Extreme Rules. This comes after Reigns successfully defended the title against Balor last week on SmackDown, albeit with the help of a low blow. Following the match, the start of Balor’s Demon theme played as well, hinting at the return of the Demon. WWE has not mentioned the Demon whatsoever.
This could be awesome. Check out how we got here plus what might be waiting on Reigns:

WWE Had Interesting Plans For Adam Cole On The Main Roster

That was their plan? There have been a lot of moves on the WWE roster in recent months and those seem likely to continue in the future. Some of these are bigger than others as a few of them have seen big names moving away. In some cases that has been from NXT, which has quite a talented roster in its own right. Now we know what might have happened had one of the moves not taken place.
Former NXT Champion Adam Cole made his AEW debut last Sunday at All Out. Other than a few cameo appearances, Cole never made a full time WWE main roster debut. According to Wrestling Observer Radio, there had been plans made to bring him up to the main roster, though not as a full time wrestler. The plan would have seen Keith Lee turn heel with Cole as his manager, albeit under a different name due to Michael Cole being on SmackDown. The pairing would have been similar to Bobby Lashley and Lio Rush with the monster protecting the loud mouthed manager. It is unclear how much Cole knew of these plans.

RUMOR: Dates Set For Upcoming Special WWE Events

Mark your calendars. We are closing in on the end of the year and there is a lot left on the WWE schedule. The company still has monthly pay per views and a trip to Saudi Arabia to take care of, which means things are going to get more interesting pretty quickly. It turns out that they are going to have some special shows along the way and now we know when some of them will be taking place.
Andrew Zarian of the Mat Men Podcast has revealed the dates of some upcoming WWE special events. The 2021 WWE Draft will be held on the October 1 SmackDown and the October 4 Monday Night Raw. In addition, SmackDown will hold its season premiere on October 8, which will feature the starts of the King and Queen of the Rings tournaments. Both of these will conclude on October 21 at Crown Jewel. WWE has yet to confirm any of these events.
Just want to finalize some dates for WWE events.

AEW Dynamite Results – September 8, 2021

Dynamite
Date: September 8, 2021
Location: Fifth Third Arena, Cincinnati, Ohio
Commentators: Jim Ross, Tony Schiavone, Taz
We’re in for a special one this week as it is the All Out fallout show, which will feature a bunch of wrestlers making their Dynamite debuts, or at least making a special appearance. The next major show is Grand Slam in two weeks and that is going to require some building up. Let’s get to it.
Opening sequence.
All Out recap video.
Dustin Rhodes vs. Malakai Black Dustin is fighting for his family/multiple stable mates who have been taken out by Black. They start fast with Dustin hammering him into the corner and snapping off a German suplex out of said corner. Dustin takes it to the floor and keeps pounding but Black drops him hard through a table to put him in trouble. The referee goes to check on him so Black takes off a turnbuckle pad. Back in and Black knees him in the ribs before grabbing a chinlock. Black switches over to a kneebar but Dustin gets over to ..

REVIEW: Impact Wrestling vs. Lucha Underground: It Must Be Someone’s Dream Shot

Welcome to KB’s Old School (and New School) Reviews. I’ve been reviewing wrestling shows for over twelve years now and have reviewed over 6,000 shows. Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, I’ll be posting a new review here on Wrestlingrumors.net. It could be anything from modern WWE to old school to indies to anything in between. Note that I rate using letters instead of stars and I don’t rate matches under three minutes as really, how good or bad can something that short be?
Impact Wrestling vs. Lucha Underground
Date: April 6, 2018
Location: Sugar Mill, New Orleans, Louisiana
Attendance: 1,400
Commentators: Josh Matthews, Matt Striker
Now this is something that caught my eye as soon as it popped onto the schedule. Lucha Underground doesn’t get a lot of play outside of its own universe so having it come somewhere else could be interesting. On top of that, given how many of its wrestlers wrestle for Impact as well, I wasn’t sure what to expect. Just please be more like Lucha Undergroun..

WWE Personality Goes On Crazed Profanity Laced Rant Over Adam Cole’s AEW Debut

I guess he isn’t a fan. There are certain wrestlers and wrestling personalities who just do not get along. For one reason or another, they cannot click and it is made clear every time they speak. This can lead to some excellent matches and even better feuds, one of which was rekindled earlier this week, despite the two people involved working for different companies.
One of the biggest stories coming out of last weekend’s AEW All Out show was the debut of Adam Cole. After being rumored to jump to the company, Cole made his first appearance at the end of the event. Later in the week, Cole’s former NXT rival and current SmackDown broadcaster Pat McAfee went on a rant against Cole, insulting him in various ways before ultimately saying it was a cool moment. Here are the comments, with transcription courtesy of SportsKeeda.com:
“We are gonna talk about Bay Bay later, that was quite a big moment last night. You know, he’s a piece of s**t, that guy. I mean congrats to him and that is a pre..

WWE Backstage Situation Described As “Asleep At The Wheel”

That would explain a few things. There have been all kinds of changes in WWE as of late and not all of them have been for the better. A lot of wrestlers have left the company and it seems that even more could be on the chopping block in the future. One of the more interesting situations was that of Adam Cole, as neither WWE nor Cole knew when his contract expired. There is a bit more to it than that.
A story came out earlier this week that Kevin Owens’ WWE contract was expiring sooner than expected. According to Fightful Select, Owens’ contract was one of several which were shortened in exchange for higher guaranteed money. However, in this case WWE knew that the changes had been made and the earlier expiration date did not come as a surprise to the company.
This comes after Cole’s contract expired than expected and is said to be blamed on people “falling asleep at the wheel”. As a result, several WWE contracts have been reviewed so the company knows when they will expire. The NXT co..

AEW Announces Major Return And Match For Grand Slam

Welcome back? There are a lot of names on the AEW roster and the company has added a lot of them over their still fairly short history. That being said, there are going to be some names who are just bigger stars than others. Some of these names do not appear on every show, but now we know when we are going to be seeing one of them again after his latest hiatus.
During this week’s edition of AEW Dynamite, Cody Rhodes was announced for a match against Malakai Black at AEW Grand Slam on September 22. Rhodes has been absent from AEW television since August 4, when Black defeated him on Dynamite. This also comes after Rhodes finished filming the latest season of the Go Big Show, where he serves as one of the show’s judges.
Rhodes is a big deal. Check out who is coming back for a rematch:

Triple H Suffers Cardiac Event, Undergoes Surgery

Hopefully it isn’t too bad. Wrestlers are larger than life characters and you are going to see them doing some completely insane things at various times. That can make it hard to believe that anything could ever happen to them, but that is often the case every so often. It was the case again this week and it is something rather serious to one of the more prominent names in wrestling.
WWE has announced that Paul Levesque, better known as Triple H, underwent a successful procedure last week following a cardiac incident. The issue was caused due to a genetic issue and Triple H is expected to make a full recovery. There is no word on when Triple H will be able to make a return to work. Triple H has recently lost much of his authority in NXT due to various backstage changes in WWE.
That’s certainly not good. Check out some better Triple H moments:

AEW Signs Top Independent Star (Contains Minor Spoiler)

That’s a new one. There are all kinds of talented wrestlers throughout the world and some of them are able to make it all the way to the biggest of big leagues. That would mean WWE or AEW, though you are only going to see so many make it there either. The companies are always looking for new talent though, and now one of them has found someone.
AEW officially announced that Lee Moriarty has been signed to a contract with the company. The announcement came following Moriarty’s match during this week’s Dark: Elevation taping, with AEW President Tony Khan offering a contract, which Moriarty accepted. Moriarty has enjoyed a successful career on the independent circuit, including an appearance with Ring of Honor. He began wrestling in 2015.
You’ll get to know him. Check out what Moriarty can do in the ring:

RUMOR: Update On Tessa Blanchard’s Status (And It Isn’t Good)

I guess that’s a no? WWE and AEW are the two most prominent wrestling companies in America and that is not likely to change in the near future. That means they are going to be the highest level destinations for all kinds of wrestlers, many of whom are currently not with a major company. One prominent free agent has been away for a long time, and that is likely to continue.
According to Bodyslam.net, there are no plans for either AEW or WWE to bring in former Impact Wrestling World Champion Tessa Blanchard at this point. Blanchard is said to be “nuclear”, mainly due to allegations that she used a racial slur against wrestler La Rosa Negra while on a tour of Japan. There is no word on when Blanchard will wrestle again, though her most recent match took place on September 12, 2020.
There are other women out there. Check out some of the best female wrestlers in the world today:
