Huge Dream Match Set For Next Week’s AEW Grand Slam

I’d say it fits the description. One of the terms that you will hear fairly often in wrestling is “dream match”. While this is the case on occasion, there are a lot of matches where you have to wonder who is having such a dream in the first place. The good thing is that there are dream matches out there and now we are ready to see another one actually taking place.
Earlier this month at AEW All Out, Bryan Danielson made his big debut to close the show. The following week on Dynamite, Danielson made it clear that he had his sights set on AEW World Champion Kenny Omega. This week on Dynamite, Danielson challenged Omega to a non-title match, which Omega accepted. The match will take place at Grand Slam on September 22 and will mark their first singles match since 2009.
Danielson has hit the ground running in AEW. Check out his time with the company:

REVIEW: Cyber Sunday 2006: There Can Be Only On

Welcome to KB’s Old School (and New School) Reviews. I’ve been reviewing wrestling shows for over twelve years now and have reviewed over 6,000 shows. Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, I’ll be posting a new review here on Wrestlingrumors.net. It could be anything from modern WWE to old school to indies to anything in between. Note that I rate using letters instead of stars and I don’t rate matches under three minutes as really, how good or bad can something that short be?
Cyber Sunday 2006
Date: November 5, 2006
Location: US Bank Arena, Cincinnati, Ohio
Attendance: 7,000
Commentators: Jim Ross, Jerry Lawler
It’s time for the interactive show as we have the fans picking a lot of the specifics about the card. This can range from stipulations to titles on the line to participants, though hopefully we don’t have more of the two joke options and one real one. The main event is the Champion of Champions match, which certainly sounds big. Let’s get to it.
The opening video talks about ho..

AEW Dynamite Results – September 15, 2021

Dynamite
Date: September 15, 2021
Location: Prudential Center, Newark, New Jersey
Commentators: Excalibur, Jim Ross, Tony Schiavone, CM Punk
Things have been getting big in a hurry around here and that is going to be the case again this week. This time around we have the in-ring debut of Adam Cole, which should make for quite the moment. Other than that, Grand Slam is on the horizon and that should be an even bigger show. Let’s get to it.
Opening sequence.
CM Punk, on commentary tonight, gets a big introduction and dives into the crowd again.
Adam Cole vs. Frankie Kazarian The fans are behind Cole as Kazarian takes him over a few times. Cole flips out of a headlock and backdrops Kazarian over the top and onto the apron for a crash. Back in and Cole takes some bows but Kazarian hits the slingshot Fameasser over the ropes. That doesn’t seem to do much to Cole, who is back with right hands into the chinlock. That’s broken up as well and Kazarian grabs a leglock while cranking on the a..

KB’s Review: Welcome Change

Note that this is being written before the debut of the new NXT, so I have no idea what took place on this week’s show.
NXT has been around for a very long time now and has become one of the staples of modern wrestling. There have been some amazing matches, all time classic shows and incredible talents to come out of the promotion, but that is not good enough for some people. By “some people”, I mean Vince McMahon, but you really don’t need anyone else when he is involved.
Over the last few weeks/months, word has gotten out that McMahon is ready to blow NXT up and reset a lot of the ideas of the promotion back to the original days. That has been the big boogeyman for a while now and it is coming to get you. I know it sounds rather scary in ways as it sounding more like NXT Night Raw, but there was something that caught my eye which gives me some hope.
Earlier this week, a report came out from Fightful Select saying that NXT was going to have more characters going forward, albeit in ..

Kofi Kingston Reveals WWE’s Communication Issues With Superstars

They might need to work on that. There are a lot of problems with WWE today and some of them are bigger than others. It often seems that there is limited planning, as you will often see matches announced and then not presented, as it feels like the show is changed at the last minute. That seems to be the case, and it also appears that the wrestlers themselves are often in the dark about what is going on.
In an interview with 106.1 KMEL, Kofi Kingston mentioned that he found out what he would be in an eight man tag on this week’s Monday Night Raw via Twitter. This was also the case the previous week when Kingston and Xavier Woods participated in Tag Team Turmoil. Kingston said that the wrestlers are often the last people to find out what they are going to be doing and that if he did not use social media, he would not find out what he was doing until he made it to the building that night.
It is quite the interview. Check out the full video (with Kingston’s comments beginning at about 4..

RUMOR: Bray Wyatt May Be On His Way To A Few Companies

That would be a big one. AEW has changed up the way the wrestling world has worked as the promotion has opened up a huge door for all kinds of other wrestlers. Rather than having every top level wrestler sticking around WWE, there is now a new place for all of these wrestlers to go. Several wrestlers have done just that, and now we might be seeing another one.
According to Wrestlingnews.co, Bray Wyatt may be making his AEW debut at the September 29 edition of Dynamite. The event will take place in Rochester, New York, the hometown of Brodie Lee, who was the Exalted One of the Dark Order. This comes as Wyatt sent out a tweet saying that he will see us very soon and said “revenge is a confession of pain.” This comes as Impact Wrestling has also been pursuing Wyatt as well, meaning there is no guarantee of where he will be debuting.
Everything will be clear.
I’ll see you all very soon.
Revenge is a confession of pain.

205 Live Results – September 10, 2021

205 Live
Date: September 10, 2021
Location: Capitol Wrestling Center, Orlando, Florida
Commentators: Vic Joseph, Nigel McGuinness
This is going to be the last show in the old school Capitol Wrestling Center as things will be upgraded next week due to NXT, assuming the taping schedule isn’t that far behind. 205 Live has been undergoing some changes as of late and we might even be in for some more non-crusierweight action. Let’s get to it.
Valentina Feroz vs. Katrina Cortez They go with the grappling to start and throw each other down for an early standoff. Feroz grabs a headlock takeover as we hear about her loss against Kay Lee Ray. A rope walk headlock takeover keeps Cortez in trouble and it’s off to an armbar to change things up a bit. That’s broken up though and Cortez sends her to the apron for a kick to the back. A double arm crank goes on but Feroz is right back up with some judo throws. Cortez manages to grab a quick Boston crab but that’s broken up as well, with Feroz hitting..

Released WWE Star Unable To Wrestle Due To Visa Issues

It’s a tricky situation. WWE has cleaned house on their roster this year and that has shaken up the wrestling landscape. There are all kinds of wrestlers moving from one promotion to another, but there are also wrestlers who have not gone anywhere yet. That can make things a little more complicated, and in one situation, there is a major outside factor that is holding things up.
In a new interview with WrestleZone, Big Damo, better known as Killian Dain in WWE, spoke about his current visa issues. Damo is allowed to stay in the United States but is unable to work at the moment, including wrestling anywhere. This is something that could be cleared up at any point, but until then, he is stuck on the sidelines. Once he is able to obtain a visa, he will be allowed to wrestle anywhere he is able to obtain work.
Someone will be interested. Check out what Damo can do when he is allowed:

A New Career? Former WWE Stars Releasing Song

That’s a different one. There have been all kinds of superstars coming and going from WWE and it can be difficult to keep track of what everyone is doing. It can be even harder when some of those wrestlers aren’t on television anymore, but some of them have come up with ways to keep their names out there. Two of them have a pretty unique idea of their own coming soon.
Cassie Lee and Jesse McKay, formerly known as the IIconics, will be featured on an upcoming song, soon to be released on Spotify. The song, called The Iinspiration (the team’s new name), is by Harley Cameron and will feature Lee and McKay. The team was released from WWE earlier this year and have yet to appear for any other wrestling promotion. It is not clear when they will be wrestling again.
‘The IInspiration’ by Harley Cameron feat. Jessie McKay & Cassie Lee is available for Pre-Save!! ?

Big E As WWE Champion: Why He Deserves A Real Main Event Run

Big E’s WWE Championship win on the September 13 edition of Monday Night Raw was met with overwhelming approval online. It’s not often that such an outpouring of affection and support is heaped on the shoulders of a pro wrestler. But in this case, it’s very fitting.
Big E puts in the work, night in and night out. He always rises to the occasion and he does it while always looking like a main event powerhouse. Now he most definitely is one. Because of that, it’s time for WWE to run with the new champ and elevate him to the status he deserves.
[This post contains video, click to play]

New Day, New Champion Winning the title is just the first step. That seems a bit backwards and with good reason. After all, the notion of paying dues is a very real thing in the business. Very few talents arrive on the main roster and immediately achieve overnight success. Not everyone is Kurt Angle or Brock Lesnar.
However, that’s not to subtract from Big E as a worker in the ring. E has truly come in..

NXT Was A Bit Of A Weird Mess Backstage

Sounds like Monday. This week’s edition of NXT saw the launch of NXT 2.0, which changed the way the show will be run for a long time to come. After several years of doing the same thing, NXT decided to change things up entirely with a new set, new wrestlers and new stories. That is quite the change of pace, but you might be hearing a familiar story about what was happening behind the scenes.
According to PWInsider.com, Kevin Dunn ran this week’s edition of NXT as Triple H was recovering from a recent cardiac event. In addition, the script for the show was completely changed several times and some of the wrestlers at the event described the backstage atmosphere as “weird”. The show was headlined by a four way match for the vacant NXT Title and the wedding of Dexter Lumis and Indi Hartwell.
The show went well enough. Check out some of the highlights:

Former WWE Star Completely Stepping Away From Wrestling

Maybe that’s what he needs. There are all kinds of wrestlers in the world today and some of them are more well known than others. Some of them are talented and lucky enough to get a chance to showcase themselves for one of the biggest wrestling promotions in the world, but that does not mean everything is going to go well. At some point they are going to leave that promotion and it can shake things up. That seems to be the case again.
Former WWE star Jake Atlas has announced that he will be completely stepping away from wrestling for the time being. Atlas said that he is not banged up or suffering from a concussion and spoke about his mental health. He also said that he wrestled for five years and learned to hide his issues during his career. Atlas said that he had fun in wrestling and thanked fans for their support over the years. Atlas was released from his WWE contract on August 6 and made his Ring of Honor debut on Sunday at Death Before Dishonor.
I’m not concussed or “banged up…
