WWE Tried To Bring In A Former Impact Wrestling Champion

It’s not for everyone. While it might not be the most popular at times, there is no denying that WWE is the biggest wrestling promotion in the world. The promotion is still the end goal for a lot of wrestlers, with several of them working as hard as they can to make it to the big leagues. That is not the case for everyone though, and that was the case with a fairly prominent name from outside the company.
During a recent edition of her Wilde On podcast, former Impact Wrestling Knockouts Champions Taylor Wilde revealed that she was contacted by WWE to appear in the first Mae Young Classic. Wilde had been retired from the ring for six years but agreed to return to the ring for the chance. However, she got injured in training, meaning that she was unable to return to the ring. Wilde never appeared for WWE but did return to Impact Wrestling earlier this year, ending her ten year retirement.
It makes sense that WWE would want Wilde on their roster. Check out what she can do in the ring:

Update On WWE’s Plans For Another Big Change

They’re still changing. We are in the middle of one of the biggest transitional periods that WWE has ever seen and those changes are likely to continue. The changes so far have shaken things up in such a huge way and some of them have brought longstanding eras to an end. That will be the case again next year, but it is not going to be in an area many fans will get to see.
Back in March of 2019, WWE announced plans to move from its longtime home base of Titan Towers in Stanford, Connecticut. The move was delayed due to the Coronavirus pandemic, but now the plans have been updated. The Stamford Advocate is reporting that WWE is planning to move into its new headquarters in downtown Stamford in late 2022. WWE is moving to the larger building for more space and better technological capabilities.
WWE has been in that building for a long time. Check out what they are leaving behind:

KB’s Review: Long Term Success

Wrestling can be a lot of things, ranging from action to athleticism to drama to comedy to suspense to romance and probably even more things that I’m forgetting. What it all boils down to though is telling a story, and that’s where the real interest comes from. The matches themselves really are secondary to the stories that are being told to make them interesting, and that is where we’re picking things up today.
Last weekend, AEW held its latest great pay per view with Full Gear, which was headlined by Hangman Page finally ending Kenny Omega’s World Title reign after the better part of a year. These two have a very long and detailed history which goes all the way back to before AEW even came into existence. That is a lot of history and this particular story had all kinds of details included. The title change was the grand culmination, but is that the best way to go?
One of the things that both AEW and its fans pride themselves on it its long term storytelling. The company goes out of..

AEW Has A New Top Villain After Dynamite Turn

Change of plans. There are a lot of ways to present a wrestler, but at times it is clear that something needs to be changed. That can be done in a variety of ways, but one of the easiest is by turning them either good or bad. These changes can be out of nowhere or over time, and both kinds can be very effective. We saw one of the former this week and it worked pretty well.
This week’s edition of AEW Dynamite opened with Hangman Page’s celebration for winning the AEW World Title. Page was eventually interrupted by new #1 contender Bryan Danielson, who was not pleased that Page defeated Kenny Omega. Danielson went on to insult both Page and the crowd, turning into a villain for the first time in his AEW tenure. There is no word on when Danielson vs. Page will take place.
This could be a very dangerous change. Check out what Danielson can do in the ring before he went to the dark side:

WATCH: “Stone Cold” Steve Austin vs. The Rock From WrestleMania 19 (XIX)

The third time’s a charm. WWE has posted a new video to their YouTube channel, which shows the full match between “Stone Cold” Steve Austin and The Rock from WrestleMania 19. It was the third match between the two on the “grandest stage of them all.”
You can see the match in its entirety below:
[This post contains video, click to play]

As mentioned, this was the third meeting between the two WWE legends at WrestleMania. Austin had been victorious at WrestleMania 14 and 17; however, The Rock was able to pick up the victory in this final contest between the two. This match was a classic and sent each superstar on their own separate journey.
Editor’s Opinion:
Oh man, do I remember this one. The Rock was playing an arrogant, Hollywood heel, who was constantly badmouthing the fans and singing songs about how much he hated being in the various towns that he was in. It was during this time that he even had a brief encounter with “The Hurricane” that was absolutely hilarious! These two a..

AEW Dynamite Live Coverage And Results – November 17, 2021

Dynamite
Date: November 17, 2021
Location: Chartway Arena, Norfolk, Virginia
Commentators: Excalibur, Tony Schiavone, Jim Ross
We’re done with Full Gear and Hangman Page is FINALLY the AEW World Champion. To say this is a long time coming is an understatement but now we get to see where things go from here. That could be in a variety of directions but this week is all about the big celebration. We have a long way to go before Revolution next year so let’s get to it.
We open with a Full Gear recap.
The Elite is in the back and Kenny Omega is rather sad. He hasn’t watched the match with Hangman Page back but he knows he has some things to fix. Omega wants them to hold the fort down while he’s gone and Adam Cole says they’ve got it. Omega just meant the Bucks though and they walk off. This would be the write off for Omega so he can go have shoulder surgery.
The Dark Order is in the ring and here is Hangman Page, in a Virginia Is For Lovers shirt. Fans: “YOU DESERVE IT!” Page: “I’m gon..

REVIEW: Survivor Series 2013: The Dark Ages

Welcome to KB’s Old School (and New School) Reviews. I’ve been reviewing wrestling shows for over twelve years now and have reviewed over 6,000 shows. Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, I’ll be posting a new review here on Wrestlingrumors.net. It could be anything from modern WWE to old school to indies to anything in between. Note that I rate using letters instead of stars and I don’t rate matches under three minutes as really, how good or bad can something that short be?
Survivor Series 2013
Date: November 24, 2013
Location: TD Garden, Boston, Massachusetts
Attendance: 13,500
Commentators: Michael Cole, Jerry Lawler, John Bradshaw Layfield
It’s the final show before the 2014 edition and for the most part I have no idea what happens here. If I remember right it’s something about Orton and then Reigns destroying a bunch of people. It kind of amazes me how easy the last year is to forget while I could snap off the main event of almost every PPV 2005 or so. Let’s get to it.

You Might Not Be Seeing Kenny Omega For A Good While

It might be a bit. Injuries are one of the few universals in the wrestling world. No matter how experienced or talented a wrestler may be, there is always the chance that they are going to suffer some sort of an injury. It might come all at once or be built up over time, but it is always a possibility. That is the case in for a rather prominent star, and he might be gone for awhile.
According to PWInsider.com, former AEW World Champion Kenny Omega may be missing an extended period of time due to injuries. Omega is likely to undergo shoulder surgery and there is no word on how long he will be out, assuming he does undergo the procedure. Omega lost the AEW World Title to Hangman Page in the main event of last weekend’s Full Gear pay per view.
AEW would miss Omega if he has to go away. Check out what he can do while he is around:

RUMOR KILLER On AEW’s Women’s Division Being Limited

That’s a different take for AEW. The Women’s Revolution has changed the way women’s wrestling works in a very positive way. After years of women’s wrestling having next to no value whatsoever, it is now treated as something with value throughout the wrestling world. It is fascinating to see how far it has come, but what if someone with some more pull does not like it as much?
Fightful Select has an update on WarnerMedia’s, the parent company of TNT and TBS, stance on women’s wrestling on AEW television. Last year, a rumor began circulating that WarnerMedia had only allowed one women’s match on any show on their networks. According to Fightful Select, there was no such rule ever handed down and there was no request or suggestion about less women’s wrestling to AEW. All that WarnerMedia cares about is “good content” and having high social or TV ratings.

WWE Star Lands Regular Role On ABC Series

It’s a bonus. Wrestlers are a lot of things, but to outsiders, they are often called actors who are pretending to do a lot of things on any given show. Somehow that rarely turns into success in the acting world, though every now and then you see someone getting a chance to show what they can do in Hollywood. Now it seems that we will be seeing that again with a prominent WWE star.
Former WWE Champion and current SmackDown star Jinder Mahal has announced that he will be appearing as a regular character on ABC’s series Big Sky. The show airs every Thursday night at 10pm EST, with Mahal playing a character named Dhruv. Mahal’s first appearance will be on November 18 and he says he will be appearing on the show every week.
The Maharaja has joined the cast of @BigSkyABC season 2 as Dhruv. Starting Tomorrow and every Thurs at 10/9C PM on @ABCNetwork and @hulu. #bigskyabc pic.twitter.com/ptarZWqkXm

Tribute to the Troops 2021
Date: November 14, 2021
Location: Toyota Arena, Ontario, California
Commentators: Michael Cole, Pat McAfee
It’s time for the big patriotic show, which is actually taking place closer to Thanksgiving this time around instead of the usual Christmas season. This one is airing on FOX to make it feel even bigger, though it is just a one hour edition which was taped last month at Smackdown. In other words, they don’t seem to be putting in as much effort this year. Let’s get to it.
Lilian Garcia sings the National Anthem.
Video on the troops and what this show means to WWE.
Big E. vs. Dolph Ziggler Non-title and commentary does give a brief recap of their history. Robert Roode is here with Ziggler and dig those red, white and blue ropes. Big E. powers out of a waistlock to start and sends Ziggler flying, setting up some gyrations. A kick to the ribs slows Big E. down and Ziggler gyrates a bit as well. That just earns him the abdominal stretch with rhythmic shots..

Monday Night Raw Might Be Getting Two New NXT Callups

That’s kind of the point. NXT is one of the most unique wrestling shows in the world, as it is not only its own show but also the official developmental territory for WWE. There are only so many things that a wrestler can do there without being ready to be called up to the main roster. That can make for some interesting moments, as a promotion can make for a rather special moment. Now we might be seeing some new promotions.
Two NXT names seem to have been called up to the main roster. Referee Aja Smith has appeared on Monday Night Raw in recent weeks, including refereeing this week’s match between Bianca Belair and Tamina. In addition, backstage interviewer McKenzie Mitchell has posted a photo to Twitter, showing her backstage at Monday Night Raw. There is no word on if these callups are permanent or just tryouts.
