VIDEO: Hardys Reunion Following Jeff Hardy’s WWE Release

Welcome back? There are various wrestling families who get your attention no matter what they are doing. That can make for some good and bad moments, as you almost don’t know what you re going to get from time to time. In this case, a pair of wrestling brothers are back again, though in this case it comes after an incident that was not the greatest sight to behold.
Last week, WWE officially released Jeff Hardy from his contract following an incident at a live event earlier in the month. Hardy was released after walking out on a match and refusing to go to rehab. Since his release, Hardy has appeared on his brother Matt’s YouTube channel in a pair of videos. In the first video, Matt discusses being the architect of the Hardy Boys team. Jeff appeared behind him, saying that he had been listening to Release Me by Wilson Phillips. In the second video, the Hardys promote some of Jeff’s upcoming concert dates. Jeff will be under a no compete clause in wrestling until March.

Former WWE Tag Team Champions Tease Reunion, FTR Responds

Do it again? Tag teams have a weird history in WWE as the company has not exactly treated them as a top priority. There have been times when the division feels completely worthless, but there have also been instances where the tag team scene is flourishing. Next year, we might be seeing one of those popular WWE teams making a comeback outside of the company.
Former WWE star Scotty 2 Hotty has posted a photo to Twitter, showing himself reuniting with Rikishi. The tweet said “Ready for 2022”, which could suggest a reunion between the two for next year. The team are former WWE Tag Tag Team Champions under the name Too Cool. AEW’s Cash Wheeler responded to the tweet, saying that FTR will roll up to Too Cool as well. Hotty was released from his WWE contract earlier this year as per his request.
So, this happened today! Ready for 2022.

Multiple Injuries Take Place During This Week’s NXT

Those are some nasty situations. There are a lot of ways to write someone out of action on a wrestling show and some of them are more effective than others. Perhaps the most effective is to have someone get injured, as not only does it get someone off of television, but it also puts heat on the person who did it. This week, that was the case in two different situations.
There were two wrestlers written off of NXT television this week due to injuries. First up, Cora Jade was attacked by Mandy Rose following Jade’s win over Dakota Kai. Rose re-injured Jade’s arm, resulting in undisclosed injuries. Also during the show, Harland made his in-ring debut and after the match, attacked various agents and referees. This included agent Brian Kendrick, who suffered a possible cervical fracture. There is no word on when either will return.
It was a brutal night. Check out how the violence went down:

Ouch: Liv Morgan Injured On Monday Night Raw

That could slow her down. Every now and then you see a star catch fire and turn into one of the bigger stories on any given show. It works very well if a wrestler can capture the audience’s attention and see how far things can go. That is the case on Monday Night Raw, but now things might be slowed down a little bit due to a pretty badly timed injury to a rising star.
This week’s Monday Night Raw featured a showdown between Liv Morgan and Raw Women’s Champion Becky Lynch. Morgan had been cheated out of her title shot the previous week and wanted a rematch. Before accepting, Lynch attacked Morgan, including crushing her arm against the ring steps. During Raw Talk, Morgan was announced as having suffered a deep bone bruise and a strained radial collateral ligament in her left arm. She is still expected to challenge Lynch at Day One on January 1.

AEW President Tony Khan Takes Harsh Shot At WWE

He doesn’t seem to agree. The wrestling world has been changed in a lot of ways in recent years, with nothing shaking it up more than the rise of AEW. After so many years of WWE holding a monopoly over the entire industry, AEW has come along and become the other big player. A lot of that is due to AEW President Tony Khan, who has something to say about the way WWE presents its television.
Khan made an appearance on a recent edition of the Wrestling Perspective Podcast, where he spoke on the amount of rematches that took place in both AEW and other promotions. Khan mentioned that shows outside of AEW have “like 17 rematches with the same two people.” Since AEW’s debut, Khan has mentioned that his company does not like to present multiple rematches between the same wrestlers.
Khan does have a point in some cases. Check out some WWE rematches:

Update On Scarlett Bordeaux and Karrion Kross’ Futures In Wrestling

I guess that’s not happening. There have been all kinds of moves in the wrestling world over the last few years and some of the biggest have come from the long list of WWE releases. Some of these have been a lot more surprising than others, with many leading to the question of where this person goes next. That is the case with a pair of released wrestlers, but now we know where they will not be going.
During a recent video signing with K & S WrestleFest, Scarlett Bordeaux was asked if she and her fiance Karrion Kross would return to Impact Wrestling. Bordeaux flat out said “We’re not going back there. We are not going back there. No.” Bordeaux and Kross wrestled together in Impact Wrestling from 2018-2019 before heading to NXT. Both were released from WWE earlier this year.
Leave the memories alone. Check out the two of them in Impact Wrestling and NXT:

AEW Star Out Of Action With Injury, Already Missing For Months

That could change things. Injuries are never good to see in the wrestling world as they can shake up the status quo in a hurry. That is never a positive thing and then it becomes more about waiting to see just how bad things are. It seems that is the case again now, as an AEW star in injured. Unfortunately, it is the kind of injury that could keep more than one person out of action.
According to Fightful Select, AEW’s Marq Quen is out with an injury, which has kept him out of action since the October 11 edition of Dark: Elevation. It is not clear when the injury took place or what kind of an injury Quen has. With Quen on the shelf, his regular Private Party tag partner Isaiah Kassidy has been wrestling with him, often as part of the Hardy Family Office. There is no word on when Quen will be able to return to the ring.
Private Party is a heck of a team when Quen is available. Check out the team in action:

NXT Live Coverage And Results – December 14, 2021

NXT
Date: December 14, 2021
Location: Capitol Wrestling Center, Orlando, Florida
Commentators: Wade Barrett, Vic Joseph
It’s another new era as Johnny Gargano and Kyle O’Reilly are both gone, at least for the time being. That means we might be in for some new names, but ultimately that might not be the best thing. Some of the new generation has done well, but there are more than a few who haven’t been the most thrilling. Let’s get to it.
We open with a recap of Grayson Waller attacking Johnny Gargano to end last week’s show.
Waller arrives and gets booed by a bunch of fans, so he films a bit of the reaction.
We recap Cameron Grimes vs. Duke Hudson. Grimes has beaten Hudson in poker and a match, including cutting off some of Hudson’s hair. Tonight is the final fight, no holds barred.

Tommaso Ciampa Announces Very Cool NXT Auction For Charity

It’s for a good cause. Wrestling is a business and ultimately that means trying to make fans give up their money. That can be easier said than done, but there are times that make fans want to hand it over as fast as they can. It might be for a ticket, a new shirt, or getting to watch a show at home. This time though, some wrestlers are trying to get fans to pay for something for a better cause.
NXT Champion Tommaso Ciampa has announced that NXT will be auctioning off ten event used items from last week’s WarGames event. All proceeds will be donated to the United For Waukesha Community Fund, following the car attack during the Waukesha, Wisconsin Christmas parade. To bid on the autographed items, go to Ebay.com and search “We are NXT Waukesha”.

WRESTLING RUMORS: WWE Star Likely Getting Name Change

Back to the old. A name is one of the most important parts of a wrestler’s overall persona as it tells the people a lot about what they are seeing. The wrong name can cause a lot of problems for a wrestler but thankfully there are ways to fix the problem. WWE has a lot of fixing to do and for once it seems like they are actually going to do something about one of their problems.
According to Wrestlingnews.co, WWE has filed a trademark on the name “Piper Niven”, which is the former name of current Monday Night Raw star Doudrop. During Doudrop’s debut earlier this year, Eva Marie said she did not want to hear her name and dubbed her Doudrop instead. The name has stuck, even after Eva Marie’s departure from WWE. There has been no mention of the Niven name so far on Monday Night Raw.
Doudrop has been a force during her time on Monday Night Raw. Check out some of her work on the show:

WATCH: Future WWE Star Makes Monday Night Raw Appearance

He’s a special guest star. All wrestlers are athletes, but there is always a certain stigma about their athletic status. As a result, WWE often tries to tie themselves to more mainstream athletics whenever they can. It can be even better when a “real” athlete joins the promotion, and one such athlete was on hand this week in something of a special preview.
Olympic Gold Medal winning wrestler and WWE signee Gable Steveson was in attendance for this week’s edition of Monday Night Raw. Steveson sat in the front row and was greeted by Bobby Lashley during the show. Steveson is signed to a name, image and likeness contract with WWE and is expected to join the company following the end of the college wrestling season as he tries to defend his NCAA wrestling title. Back in October, Steveson was drafted to Monday Night Raw.
Steveson has been around a bit before. Check out his time in WWE:

REVIEW: SmackDown – December 16, 2005: We’ve Got Druids

Welcome to KB’s Old School (and New School) Reviews. I’ve been reviewing wrestling shows for over twelve years now and have reviewed over 6,000 shows. Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, I’ll be posting a new review here on Wrestlingrumors.net. It could be anything from modern WWE to old school to indies to anything in between. Note that I rate using letters instead of stars and I don’t rate matches under three minutes as really, how good or bad can something that short be?

It’s the go home show for Armageddon and that means it’s going to be a lot more about Undertaker vs. Randy Orton. That’s the most logical way to go when there isn’t much else of note on the card. We do have the Raw vs. Smackdown tag match, but that’s hardly the most thrilling story in the world. Let’s get to it.
