That Would Do It: Speculation On Why Toni Storm Left WWE

There’s your explanation? With such a large roster, WWE is often going to have some people walk away from the company. That might not be the most positive thing, but occasionally there is no way around it. Sometimes wrestlers just do not want to be there anymore, and that seems to have been the case this week as a WWE star simply left the company.
Earlier this week, SmackDown’s Toni Storm left WWE by buying a plane ticket and flying home. According to Wrestling Observer Radio, Storm flew herself home after Tuesday’s live event due to burnout with WWE. The feud with Charlotte was also cited as a possible reason, as Storm was humiliated in the buildup to their title match and then lost, though this is seen as more speculation. Storm will have a ninety day no compete clause, though there is a chance that it could be extended further due to her walking out.
Storm did have some good times in WWE. Check out her better days:

WWE Legend Announces Surprise Return To The Company

Stick around. WWE has been in business for a very long time now and there have been so many people coming through the ropes at one point or another. A lot of them don’t make much of an impact but there are some who feel like they have been around forever. WWE likes to take care of some of those wrestlers and that seems to be the case again with one of its all time legends.
Former WWE Champion and WWE Hall of Famer Superstar Billy Graham has announced that he has signed a new five year “nostalgia contract” with WWE. There were no details released, though WWE usually signs wrestlers such as Graham to Legends contracts, which may be what Graham means. Graham thanked Vince McMahon for the opportunity and says he hopes it will be profitable for both sides.
Graham is certainly a legend. Check out some of his time in the ring:

WRESTLING RUMORS: WWE’s New Live Event Lineup Offer Royal Rumble Hint

It’s a new way to go. We are wrapping up the year and that means it is time to get ready for a bunch of new things. That includes setting up the Road to WrestleMania 38, as we have the biggest matches and storylines coming up in the near future. WWE should know where they are going on the way there, and now it seems that we are getting an idea of where one of the major matches is heading.
According to Wrestlingnews.co, WWE has changed its live event lineups to feature Drew McIntyre facing the winner of the Day One Universal Title match between Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar. This is a change from the previous matches between the Bloodline and McIntyre/New Day. While not confirmed, this could suggest that McIntyre is in line for the upcoming Royal Rumble title shot.
That could be a big one. Check out what McIntyre can do at the top of the card:

So Long: AEW Stable Likely Splitting Up Soon

Go their own ways. Stables are a simple and effective idea in wrestling as they allow several wrestlers to be on screen at the same time. Rather than trying to find something for everyone to do, it can be a lot easier to group a bunch of them together under one idea. That can make things a lot easier, butit looks like we are going to be seeing one such group call it quits soon.
According to Wrestling Observer Radio, the Pinnacle is likely to split up soon. This comes as Wardlow has been turned into a babyface while the rest of the team is comprised of heels. The team has been slowly going their separate ways since the Stadium Stampede match to the Inner Circle earlier this year. There is no word on how the team will split or what is next for everyone.
The team has done quite a bit during their time together. Check out some of the Pinnacle’s time:

AEW Star Currently Dealing With Hamstring Injury

It can happen to anyone. Injuries are one of the great equalizers in wrestling as they can take anyone down at any time. That is the kind of thing you never want to hear about but sometimes there is no way around them. No matter how big of a star you are, something can happen to take you out of action, and that seems to be the case again with one of the more interesting stars going today.
According to Fightful Select, AEW’s Miro is currently out of action with an injured hamstring. Miro has not been in action since he lost to Bryan Danielson in the finals of the World Title Eliminator Tournament at Full Gear. The injury took place at some point before November 3, as Miro wrestled Orange Cassidy and Danielson while injured, hence his leg being taped up. Miro has continued to appear in vignettes, though it is not clear when he could return to the ring.
He is still around. Check out some of what Miro has done lately:

WATCH: Special Retirement Ceremony Held After AEW Dynamite

There are a lot of people involved in putting together a wrestling show and several of them are never going to get the attention that they deserve. It is one thing to have a wrestling match and make things work in the ring, but at the same time, it is only going to get so far without the right people behind the scenes. One of the best ever is moving on but not before a nice tribute.
Following this week’s AEW Dynamite, a special ceremony was held for producer Keith Mitchell, who is leaving the company. Mitchell has worked in professional wrestling for forty years, with stints in World Class Championship Wrestling, World Championship Wrestling, Impact Wrestling and AEW. He has worked for the company since 2019 and is now retiring from the industry.
Tonight’s the last #AEWDynamite ever on TNT & this event New Year’s Smash is very special as this will be the final wrestling event produced by the great Keith Mitchell in his amazing 40 year career spanning World Class/WCW/Impact/@AEW. Let’..

Huge Feud And Storyline In The Works At AEW

e More wrestlers are still coming in, and now there seems to be a plan for a huge match coming up in the near future.
According to Wrestling Observer Radio, AEW is likely planning a feud between the Elite and the former Undisputed Era. The feud would not be able to begin until Kenny Omega returns from his injury hiatus and it is not clear when that will take place. The feud would be built around the idea of Adam Cole having to choose between the Elite and Kyle O’Reilly/Bobby Fish, with Cole siding with the latter.
This should be great. Check out the sides getting together:

Opinion: I don’t think this is exactly a surprise, but the Omega aspect would take it to another level. There is a lot of talent involved in the entire story and I could go for seeing whatever AEW has in mind. They have done rather well so far with the big, epic stories and this kind ..

First Of The Year: WWE Adds A New Match To Day One

The card grows. We are only a few days away from the end of the year and that means WWE is almost ready to air its next pay per view offering. In this case, it’s Day One, which will be taking place on the first day of the year. That means the card needs to be a strong one, and now we know how things are going to get going, with the first match of 2022 looking interesting.
WWE has announced that Cesaro and Ricochet vs. Ridge Holland and Sheamus will serve as the Kickoff Show match for Day One. This comes after Cesaro has had issues with Holland and Sheamus for several weeks, while Ricochet fought Sheamus in the 12 Days of Christmas gauntlet match. This will be the first time that Ricochet and Cesaro have teamed together on television, though they have teamed together at recent live events.
There is a lot of talent here. Check out what the four of them could do:

WATCH: WWE Legend Now Cleared For In-Ring Return

One more time? Wrestlers have an advantage over other athletes in that they can make a return to the ring a little bit more easily. Rather than having to be ready for a full season of work, a wrestler can pop in and out for a short appearance should a promotion be interested. Now a wrestling legend has announced that he could get back in the ring if someone wants to give him a chance.
Sean Waltman, better known as X-Pac, was a guest on this week’s edition of the Bump and revealed that he is medically cleared to return to the ring. After undergoing an unspecified surgery, Waltman was cleared by his surgeon and says he should be back in ring shape early in the new year should someone call. Waltman announced his retirement from the ring in July 2019 and has not wrestled since April 2019.
Waltman had a heck of a WWE career. Check out his time in the company:

WATCH: Kevin Owens Assaults Santa Claus, A Snowman And More

I guess Owens really isn’t a fan. We are in the middle of the holiday season with Christmas already gone and the New Year less than two days away. A lot of of people like to spend this time looking back and thinking about some of the more important things in their lives. Others like to go into fits of rage and assault innocent decorations. Guess which was the case over WWE’s live event tour.
A video has been posted to Twitter showing a compilation of Kevin Owens attacking the holiday decorations at recent WWE live events. Owens attacks a snowman and a Santa Claus, including giving one of them a Stunner on the way back to the locker room. These incidents seem to have taken place within the last few weeks as WWE has been holding its annual holiday tour. Owens is currently scheduled to challenge Big E. in a four way match at Day One, with Bobby Lashley and Seth Rollins also involved.
Well that got intense. Check out the video, plus Owens going nuts and some other holiday anger issues:

Backstage Reaction To Toni Storm’s WWE Release

I would be surprised too. The biggest WWE story of the year has been the incredible amount of roster turnover, with dozens of wrestlers leaving the company, often in massive waves. Some of them have been rather shocking and names fans and wrestlers alike probably never saw coming. That was the case again this week, but for a rather different reason.
On Wednesday, Toni Storm requested and was granted her release from WWE. This came out of nowhere as Storm had been feuding with Charlotte over the SmackDown Women’s Title in recent weeks. According to Fightful Select, several people in WWE were “blindsided” by Storm’s release, but it would be nearly impossible for WWE to turn her down after citing budget cuts for so many releases. There is no word on why Storm requested her release or where she intends to sign next.
Storm made an impact while she was around. Check out some of her time in WWE:

REVIEW: Monday Night Raw – January 1, 2007: Star Power!

Welcome to KB’s Old School (and New School) Reviews. I’ve been reviewing wrestling shows for over twelve years now and have reviewed over 6,000 shows. Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, I’ll be posting a new review here on Wrestlingrumors.net. It could be anything from modern WWE to old school to indies to anything in between. Note that I rate using letters instead of stars and I don’t rate matches under three minutes as really, how good or bad can something that short be?
Monday Night Raw
Date: January 1, 2007
Location: American Airlines Arena, Miami, Florida
Attendance: 15,169
Commentators: Jim Ross, Jerry Lawler
It’s the first show of the year, along with being the go home show for New Year’s Revolution. That means things are going to pick up in a hurry, so we’ll start with….the Kevin Federline match. The best thing we can hope for here is that it is over in a hurry so we can move on to anything else, as the fifteen minutes have to be long past up. Let’s get to it.
