Important Update On Alexa Bliss’ Return To The Ring

It could take a little while. With so many wrestlers on the WWE roster, it can be a little bit tricky to find something for everyone to do. Some of the things that we wind up seeing are better than others, but there are a lot that leave fans somewhere between confused and annoyed. A lot of these are things that appear on television, and we might be seeing a lot more of that for the time being.
Over the last few weeks, WWE has presented a series of vignettes on Monday Night Raw featuring Alexa Bliss undergoing therapy to overcome her issues involving Lily. According to Fightful Select, WWE has filmed nine of these vignettes, which will be part of a long term plan to bring her back to action. There is no word on when Bliss will be returning to the ring, though there were never any plans for her to be part of the Royal Rumble. Bliss has not wrestled since Extreme Rules in September 2021.
Opinion: I’m not sure what is going on with Bliss but I’m not exactly wild on seeing more of her stu..

Former WWE Star Announces Signing With New Promotion

He has a new home. The massive amounts of WWE releases over the last year and a half have changed the way the wrestling world works. There have been so many wrestlers leaving the promotion, with the majority of them leaving against their will. That means there are all kinds of wrestlers on the free agent market, but now one more of them seems to have signed with a promotion.
During an interview on the Paltrocast, former WWE star Lince Dorado has announced that he has signed with Impact Wrestling. Dorado mentioned that he wants to go after the X-Division Title, currently help by Trey Miguel. Impact Wrestling has not announced that Dorado has signed with the company and there is no word on when he could be making his debut. Dorado was released from WWE in November 2021 and has not wrestled since September 2021.
Opinion: While Dorado is a star from WWE, I’m a bit surprised by the idea of him announcing his new signing instead of letting Impact Wrestling announce it themselves. Hopefully..

WATCH: Rhea Ripley vs. Charlotte Flair From Money in the Bank 2021

The queen shows off her brutality. WWE has posted a new match to its YouTube channel in which they show the full match between Rhea Ripley and Charlotte Flair for the Raw Women’s Championship from Money in the Bank 2021.
You can see the match in its entirety below:
[This post contains video, click to play]

From WWE.com:
Haymakers and kicks were thrown with reckless abandon, underscoring the deep-seated animosity that has defined the rivalry. The Nightmare battered Flair with every ounce of energy she had, fighting off fatigue late in the match to muscle Charlotte into a suplex that nearly blew the roof off Dickies Arena.
Not to be outdone, Charlotte returned fire with a moonsault from the top rope to the floor. A desperation Natural Selection from the top rope stunned Ripley but only garnered a two-count, causing the WWE Universe to erupt into chants of “This is awesome!”
As the match wore on, Ripley countered the Figure Eight by sending Charlotte head-first into the ring post. ..

Yes And Yes: Former WWE Stars Get Married

It’s a special occasion. Wrestlers have a lot to cover on a weekly basis. Between going from town to town and show to show, there is only so much free or leisure time to be had. That can make a variety of things difficult, but sometimes even the busiest wrestlers can find time to do something they want. Such a thing took place this weekend and it was a very important moment.
Former WWE wrestlers Keith lee and Mia Yim were married over the weekend. Fellow former WWE star Tegan Nox posted photos online, showing the two both at their wedding and their reception. The two have been engaged since February 11, 2021. Both Lee and Yim were released from their WWE contracts in November 2021. They are both free agents, but neither has wrestled a match since being released from the company.

Two For One: Wrestling Star Wins Titles In Another Sport (She Won A Sword)

She’s good at that too. Wrestlers get a bad reputation when it comes to athleticism. While they are certainly athletes, they are often looked at differently because the matches they take part in are pre-determined. That is something that can make people skeptical of what they can do athletically, but it can be made better when you see them succeed elsewhere. That was the case again this week.
Impact Wrestling’s Jordynne Grace announced on twitter that she competed at the Owen’s Gym Unsanctioned Power Lifting Meet over the weekend, winning first in her class in her weight class and overall while being named the strongest female at the competition. Her team also won the Team Award. Grace regularly competes in power lifting competitions and has won awards and trophies in previous efforts.

Maybe Later: WWE Has Already Dropped Plans For A Big Return

Maybe not? WWE presents a lot of television in any given week and some of it can be rather interesting. The company has more than enough talent to make things work but at the same time, WWE also has a tendency to change its plans at the last minute. That can be rather annoying to see, and now it seems to be the case again. This time, one of the company’s legends is involved, or at least he was supposed to be.
Last month, Kurt Angle revealed that he was scheduled to return to WWE television for a short term storyline. However, during his most recent podcast, Angle revealed that the plans WWE had have been scrapped. Angle did not reveal what the original plans were or why they were canceled. He also made it clear that he is not signed to WWE at the moment and his only obligation is to his podcast.
Opinion: This is about as WWE as you can get, as the company seemed to have a plan in mind and then dropped it almost as fast. The only good side is that Angle did not appear on television so..

We continue on the road to No Surrender and now we know what we are going to be getting in the show’s main event. W. Morrissey will be challenging Moose for the World Title in what should be a heck of a hoss fight. Other than that, we have the continuing adventures of Honor No More, which at least now has a name. Let’s get to it.
Opening recap.
Opening sequence.
Chris Bey vs. Jake Something Bey dropkicks him into the corner at the bell but runs into a big backdrop. A right hand rocks Bey and it’s time to head outside. That means a face first drop onto the apron but Bey is right back with a positing. There’s a dive to the floor to drop Something again and a basement dropkick sends him into the corner. Something’s comeback is cut off with a neckbreaker and a superkick drops him for two. The chinlock doesn’t last long as Something fights up to p..

Jade Cargill Discusses Winning The TBS Championship, Dream Opponents, More

AEW superstar Jade Cargill was recently interviewed by Bleacher Report where she discussed a number of topics. Among them were transitioning from Basketball to Pro Wrestling, winning the TBS Championship, her dream opponent, and more.
Below are some highlights from the interview:
On transitioning from basketball to wrestling:
“I have a much later schedule now. I used to wake up probably around 5:30 in the morning, do some cardio and start my day,” she said. “But because now my training classes are later in the day, I wake up probably around 11 if I don’t have to drop my daughter off in the morning. Also, I do less cardio in the gym.
“I do more cardio in the ring. More than anything to be honest. I think wrestling training is the best type of cardio workout you could do. So I do everything when it comes to cardio in the ring right now unless I can’t get in the ring. Then I probably do a hit like a hit workout or something like that. I still lift weights the same.”
On winning the TB..

WWE Legend Hints At Stepping Away From The Ring

Everyone does it at some point. There are a lot of wrestlers in the world but only a handful of them can be described as a legend. Even fewer can be considered a legend in their own time. That is the case with a small number of wrestlers today, but even they have to hang up their boots at some point. It seems that we might be seeing that again, as one legend could be suggesting.
During a recent interview with Rasslin With Brandon F. Walker, Rey Mysterio said that he thinks he’ll “step back” when he feels his son Dominik Mysterio is ready to have his own career in the ring. Rey said he thinks that would be helpful for Dominik and hopes that it happens within the year. He did not however use the word “retire”. The Mysterios have teamed together since Dominik debuted in 2020, though they have both wrestled singles matches in their time.
Rey, 47 years old, has been wrestling since 1989, having debuted in Mexico before coming to the United States. He has wrestled for ECW, WCW and WWE, alo..

WWE Planning Huge Feud For Later This Year

It’s still on the docket. It’s still relatively early in the new year and that means it is time to start looking ahead to what is to come over the next several months. That is certainly the case in WWE, which has a lot of things to cover coming up. WWE needs some new feuds to build around, or at least something they have not had in a long time. It seems they already have a plan in mind.
According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE has plans to run a feud between Roman Reigns and Drew McIntyre at some point this year, though it is not clear when the feud will take place. McIntyre returned from an injury at the Royal Rumble while Reigns is set to defend his Universal Title against Goldberg at Elimination Chamber and Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 38. The two have met before, with Reigns defeating McIntyre in a non-title champion vs. champion match at Survivor Series 2020 and at WrestleMania 35.
Opinion: I’m not sure how this hasn’t been a bigger feud yet, as they are two of the bi..

LOOK: Ronda Rousey Has Already Had Another Match In Her WWE Comeback

The night wasn’t over. Last weekend, WWE presented its annual Royal Rumble event as the Road To WrestleMania 38 began. The event featured the show’s two namesake matches, which decided two of the major title matches at WrestleMania. The women’s edition featured a special surprise with Ronda Rousey making her return to the ring. Now, she is making up for lost time.
As revealed on Twitter, Rousey was in action after this week’s edition of SmackDown went off the air. Rousey teamed with Naomi in a tag match against Charlotte and Natalya, with Rousey defeating Natalya via submission in about ninety seconds. Neither Naomi nor Charlotte ever tagged into the match. Rousey had been on the show to announce that she would challenge Charlotte for the SmackDown Women’s Title at WrestleMania.

REVIEW: Elimination Chamber 2020: Open Up

Welcome to KB’s Old School (and New School) Reviews. I’ve been reviewing wrestling shows for over twelve years now and have reviewed over 6,000 shows. Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, I’ll be posting a new review here on Wrestlingrumors.net. It could be anything from modern WWE to old school to indies to anything in between. Note that I rate using letters instead of stars and I don’t rate matches under three minutes as really, how good or bad can something that short be?

It’s time for the show the company mostly forgot until the last second. Thanks to being sandwiched between Super ShowDown and Wrestlemania, this is a show that has received very little attention and the build has suffered as a result. Neither World Champion is involved here and the likely main event is a #1 contenders match to the R..
