WWE Stars Announce New Upcoming Reality Series

It’s another way to see them. There is a lot of programming in WWE and some of it can be a little bit different than others. While you get to see a lot of traditional in-ring action, you can also see some material that focuses on the behind the scenes aspects of the wrestlers’ lives. That can make for some interesting television time and now we will be seeing a fresh take on the idea.
WWE broadcaster Corey Graves and Monday Night Raw’s Carmella have announced that they will be starring in an upcoming reality web series called Corey And Carmella. The series will premiere on WWE’s YouTube channel on February 28 and there is no word on how many episodes will be produced. Carmella and Graves have been dating for over three years and announced their engagement in October 2021.

Another WWE Name Released After Nearly Thirty Years With The Company

He’s up next. One of the biggest wrestling stories over the last few years has been WWE releasing so many wrestlers from the company. There have been almost two hundred wrestlers released, but they might not be alone. In addition to all of the wrestlers, there have been some behind the scenes workers released too. Now though, another on-screen worker is being let go after a very long run with the company.
Former WWE broadcaster Hugo Savinovich has posted on Instagram that Carlos Cabrera has been released from WWE after twenty nine years with the company. Cabrera worked with WWE as a Spanish broadcaster, formerly with Savinovich, though it is not clear why he was let go. There is no word on if Cabrera’s release will be the start of another string of people being let go from WWE.

Opinion: This is one of those situations that is almost hard to fathom. Cabrera is someone who has been around WWE for almos..

Speculation That Steve Austin Could Wrestle More Than One More Match

Run it back? There have been countless wrestlers over the course of wrestling history and some of them have been very big stars. That being said, there are only a small handful of names who have been some of the biggest stars of all time. You do not get to see very many of them whatsoever, but now we might be seeing one of them come back. That just might not be everything for them.
Earlier this week, a story broke that WWE was hoping to bring back Steve Austin for a WrestleMania 38 match. Should he wrestle the match, it would be Austin’s first match since 2003, though it is not clear if the match will happen. Dave Meltzer discussed the situation on Wrestling Observer Radio and suggested that if Austin does come back, there is a chance that Austin could wrestle again, perhaps on a Saudi Arabia show. In addition, there is also a chance that Austin could appear as an on-air personality who occasionally wrestles. This is all seen as speculation and not something guaranteed to take place.

WWE Planning Another Huge Name For WrestleMania 38

That’s a short list. We are coming up on WrestleMania 38 and that means things are getting interesting around WWE. The company has a lot of things to cover before they roll into Arlington, Texas for the two night event. That is going to require some rather tricky moves from the company and now WWE might have some special ideas to make the whole process a little bit easier.
Earlier this week, news broke that WWE was hoping to bring back Steve Austin for a match at WrestleMania 38. According to Wrestling Observer Radio, WWE is hoping to bring in another Austin-level” name for the show, though it is not clear who that would be. The names mentioned as being considered on that level would be Ric Flair, Hulk Hogan, Undertaker, the Rock and John Cena, though Rock and Cena’s acting schedules would likely prevent them from wrestling. WrestleMania 38 takes place on April 2 and 3 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
Opinion: The idea of an Austin-level star is kind of hard to imagine as there a..

AEW’s Miro Says WWE Promised Him A WrestleMania Main Event

What could have been. One of the biggest wrestling stories in recent years has been the massive amount of WWE releases. It is almost hard to fathom that many people being let go over the years but that is what we have been seeing over and over. Some of those prominently released WWE names have popped up elsewhere, but now one of them has revealed something that happened to him when he was still in WWE.
Back in April 2020, WWE released Rusev, who has since moved over to AEW, where he wrestles under the name of Miro. One of his last stories in WWE was a feud with Bobby Lashley, who had a storyline affair with Miro’s wife Lana. Miro appeared as a guest on the Kurt Angle Show and revealed that he had been promised a WrestleMania main event for working through the story. He also said that he did not believe that the story was real, saying that he felt it was a rib. The WrestleMania main events in 2020 were AJ Styles vs. Undertaker in a Boneyard match and Drew McIntyre defeating Brock Lesna..

Another Former WWE Star Might Be Heading To AEW

Join the team? AEW has done some great things in its short history and a lot of that is due to its roster. The company brought in all kinds of stars in its early years but have picked it up even more in the last few months. They have a great ability to come figure out who should be brought in and where those people should be placed, and now we might know who is coming in next.
According to Fightful Select, former WWE star Buddy Matthews (known as Buddy Murphy in WWE) may be the next name signed to AEW. This comes as there have been growing interest and “rumblings” about the signing, though Matthews has not yet been signed to a contract. There is a chance that AEW has already come up with creative plans for Matthews, who was released from WWE in June and has wrestled in various promotions since.
Opinion: I’m not sure how big of a surprise Matthews coming in to AEW would be but it is still nice to see someone else getting a chance on the big state again. Matthews is someone else who fe..

Two Returns Take Place During This Week’s AEW Dynamite

Welcome back. We are on the way to AEW Revolution and that means things are starting to get a lot more interesting in a hurry. While the show is still about two weeks away, AEW is starting to put the card together. That includes drumming up interest in the show, and that can be done in a few ways. One of those ways took place this week, albeit two times on the same show.
This week’s edition of AEW Dynamite featured two returns over the course of the show. First up, the returning Kyle O’Reilly, along with Bobby Fish, helped Adam Cole attack Hangman Page, marking their returns after a multiple week absence. O’Reilly had been out of action due to paternity leave. Later, Eddie Kingston made his return from a broken orbital bone to manage Santana and Ortiz in their win over Chris Jericho and Jake Hager. Kingston and Jericho brawled after the match.
Opinion: Neither of these were big surprises, but it does make you feel like things are starting to pick up. I could go for more of both of th..

REVIEW: Survivor Series 2002: When The Chamber Was Lowered

Welcome to KB’s Old School (and New School) Reviews. I’ve been reviewing wrestling shows for over twelve years now and have reviewed over 6,000 shows. Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, I’ll be posting a new review here on Wrestlingrumors.net. It could be anything from modern WWE to old school to indies to anything in between. Note that I rate using letters instead of stars and I don’t rate matches under three minutes as really, how good or bad can something that short be?
Survivor Series 2002
Date: November 17, 2002
Location: Madison Square Garden, New York City, New York
Attendance: 17,930
Commentators: Jim Ross, Jerry Lawler, Michael Cole, Tazz
For those of you who have read my old reviews of this show, you might remember that the main event has sent me into various rantings and ravings over the years. It might have ticked me off more than any match ever at one point, though it’s since been topped multiple times. I’m kind of curious to see how I react to it this time around so le..

Ring Of Honor TV Results – February 16, 2022

Ring Of Honor
Date: February 16, 2022
We’re still on the Hall of Fame shows and that means we should be in for a fun week. Last week’s show was pretty awesome and this time around we have another big one with Bryan Danielson. He was absolutely a star in Ring of Honor and was a big part of why the company got on the map. Opening the vault is always fun so let’s get to it.
Opening sequence.
We open with Danielson’s Hall of Fame video, including talking about how his talent and amazing matches helped develop the company’s reputation. Then he moved on to WWE and AEW and kept doing the same thing.
From Glory By Honor V (September 16, 2006).
Ring Of Honor World Title: Kenta vs. Bryan Danielson Danielson is defending has a horrible shoulder coming in. Kenta threatens him with the big kick to start and backs Danielson up against the ropes. That means a slap to the face and things are getting a bit more serious. They go to a test of strength until Danielson grabs the arm, setting up a knee..

KB’s Review: A Stone Cold American Nightmare

There are weeks when I start this column with almost no idea what I should be talking about. While there might be a major wrestling story going on, it might be something that I had already talked about recently or there just isn’t enough to write a full column about it. Then there are weeks like this one, when there are two major stories that I can’t pick between. Therefore, I’m not going to try, meaning that this week we’ll be having a pair of mini columns about the two biggest wrestling stories of the week.
First up, we’ll start with one of the biggest What If’s in recent memory: the possibility of Steve Austin returning to the ring in April for WrestleMania 38. Should Austin actually get in the ring, it would end his nineteen year retirement, marking one of the all time surprise returns to the ring. Austin has long since maintained that he is retired and not interested in a return to the ring, but the rumors have started up again for WrestleMania season.
Now granted, there is a Te..

AEW Dynamite Results – February 16, 2022

Dynamite
Date: February 16, 2022
Location: Municipal Auditorium, Nashville, Tennessee
Commentators: Excalibur, Jim Ross, Tony Schiavone
They have their work cut out for themselves after last week’s show but AEW has a tendency to make something like that work more often than not. We are less than three weeks away from Revolution as well so it is time to start hammering home the card. The good thing is that you probably know what you’re getting. Let’s get to it.
Opening sequence.
We open with CM Punk sitting in the middle of the ring, where he explains the idea of straightedge, which means he is better than you. That kind of a statement might sound familiar because he said it for the first time over twenty years ago. It inspired some people to be wrestlers and some people to be straightedge. Heck it even inspired some people to sit like him, ala Maxwell Jacob Friedman.
That would be the same MJF who beat him in his hometown of Chicago (twice). MJF tries to make himself seem like some..

AEW Star Reveals His Injury Is Much Worse Than Expected

That’s never good to hear. There are certain awful things in wrestling that can happen to anyone and unfortunately they can come out of nowhere. Some of them are a lot more serious than others, with injuries being near the top of the list. You never know when someone is going to be hurt and taken out of action out of nowhere and unfortunately that is the case again.
AEW’s Jake Atlas has revealed that he has suffered a torn ACL and has already undergone surgery. Atlas injured his knee in a match against Adam Cole on the January 7 Rampage, though the extent of his injury was not known. The injury took place during Atlas’ first match under contract with AEW after wrestling a few matches on the company’s web series over the previous weeks. There is no word on when he will be back in the ring.
