Backstage Issue Between AEW President Tony Khan And MJF

It’s going to happen at some point. AEW has not even been running shows for three years yet but they have hit the ground running. The company has an impressive roster full of young, up and coming talent along with some established veterans. Things have gone rather well so far, but there is always the chance of some issues. That seems to have been the case this week.
Last week, Maxwell Jacob Friedman sat down for an interview with Ariel Helwani. According to Fightful Select, this led to an argument between Friedman and AEW President Tony Khan. Friedman’s interview included a discussion of his contract status, with his current deal expiring on January 1, 2024. Friedman has stated he will go with a deal that makes the most financial sense. For him.
The interview had not been cleared by AEW, though Friedman did not say anything that caused a major problem. However, according to F4WOnline.com, the issues were settled with no fight, though there was a disagreement over the whole situation…

WWE Adds Two New Matches To WrestleMania During Monday Night Raw

The card is still growing. With less than a week to go before WrestleMania, WWE is doing everything it can to get the card finalized in time. This includes a variety of matches being added without much time left, including one added earlier this week. That is not all though, as another pair of matches have been added to the show later in the very same day. Each one even had a bit of a surprise.
WWE announced two more matches during this week’s edition of Monday Night Raw. First, Steve Rollins had a meeting with Vince McMahon where he was told that he would have a match at WrestleMania. This ends Rollins’ quest to find a path to the show. Later, Omos said he wanted a match at WrestleMania, with his challenge being accepted by the returning Bobby Lashley. The match was made official later in the show.
Opinion: WWE is cramming things in at the last minute and while that might not be the best look for WrestleMania, at least the matches are being made. Both of these matches are intriguing..

WWE Star Wins Prestigious And Historic Honor

That’s quite the honor. Wrestlers are known for winning championships, but one of the problems is that eventually most of those championships are lost. A wrestler is known as a former champion, but that is not exactly the same thing as continuing to hold a title. There are some titles that last forever though, and now a WWE star has won another one of those, albeit in a different kind of wrestling. WWE’s Gable Steveson has won the Danny Hodge Trophy, given to the NCAA’s top wrestler. Steveson becomes the first heavyweight to win the awards twice, having won it last season as well. He also won the NCAA Heavyweight Championship for the second year in a row and is expected to make his WWE debut at some point in the near future, having signed with the company after winning an Olympic gold medal last year.
Congratulations to @GableSteveson on back-to-back Dan Hodge Trophy wins becoming the first heavyweight to win the award multiple times! pic.twitter.com/dyM70fAZQW

Monday Night Raw Live Coverage And Results – March 28, 2022

Monday Night Raw
Date: March 28, 2022
Location: PPG Paints Arena, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
Commentators: Jimmy Smith, Corey Graves, Byron Saxton, Michael Cole
It’s the last Raw before Wrestlemania and since this company doesn’t have the best ideas, that means this is Wrestlemania Raw. Hopefully that means we get some juice added to what has already been set for the card, because this isn’t looking like the strongest Wrestlemania so far. Let’s get to it.
Here is Brock Lesnar to get things going (with Michael Cole being heard saying “yes sir” during his entrance). After a look at Lesnar taking over Roman Reigns’ dressing room on Smackdown and beating up a bunch of security, Lesnar gets to do his own introduction. Lesnar: “That might have been good but it sounded like it sucked.” We are on the way to Wrestlemania so Lesnar is going to give us his game plan for his match with Roman Reigns.
They are going to go down memory lane in Suplex City and then go to the carnival. Reigns is taking..

WWE Confirms New Grudge Match For WrestleMania 38

One more for the card. With less than a week to go before WrestleMania, it is time for WWE to give us the final push towards the biggest event of the year. That is how things should be going in theory at least, as WWE still seems to have a lot of time to fill in on the card. WWE covered some of that time this week though, as another match has been added to WrestleMania.
The WrestleMania Twitter account has announced that Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods of the New Day will face Ridge Holland and Sheamus on WrestleMania Saturday. This is fallout from Holland injuring Big E. earlier this month on SmackDown, which was followed by a series of singles matches between the team members. This will be Holland’s WrestleMania debut match.

Maybe? A WrestleMania Title Match That Didn’t Seem Likely May Still Be Happening

I hope they put it in pencil. WrestleMania 38 is less than a week away and that means that the card should be all set up. That is the case in theory at least as WWE seems to continue to make changes with just a few days to go before the show. Some matches have been announced for this week’s edition of SmackDown, suggesting that the wrestlers might not be appearing at WrestleMania. It turns out that might not be the case though.
Last week on SmackDown, United States Champion Finn Balor and Damian Priest were both announced for the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal on the following week’s show. This suggested that neither would be wrestling on WrestleMania, despite the two of them having issues as of late. However, according to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the match is still listed internally for WWE and may still take place. WWE has yet to announce the match.
Opinion: This would make things a bit better, as the current setup seems to suggest that neither the United States no..

Legendary Tag Team Announced For WWE Hall Of Fame Class Of 2022

Welcome to the team. We are less than a week away from WrestleMania 38 and that means that we are going to be seeing a lot of annual events taking place. That can make for some very fun moments, including some things that do not even happen to be in the ring. One of these involves honoring the past, and now we know another pair of names that will be honored this weekend.
WWE has announced that the Steiner Brothers will be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame. Rick and Scott Steiner are two time WWE Tag Team Champions, seven time WCW/NWA World Tag Team Champions, along with holding several titles in other promotions. The induction marks a change, as Scott has long since not been interested in working for the company. The induction ceremony will take place Friday April 1 after SmackDown.
Opinion: Based on their abilities and successes in the ring, there is no reason whatsoever for the Steiners not to be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame. They are one of the most iconic, successful and t..

Ric Flair Ends Podcast As Blowup With Co-Host Leads To Nasty Exchange

It’s a bad ending. The rise of podcasting has changed the way wrestlers are able to communicate with their fans. There are now all kinds of wrestling podcasts, where wrestlers are able to talk about whatever topic they choose, possibly answering fans’ questions or conducting interviews at the same time. Some of the biggest names in wrestling have a podcast, but now one of them is going to undergo a major, which didn’t come well.
Ric Flair and former WCW broadcaster Mark Madden have ended their Flair Uncensored podcast, which saw Flair as host and Madden as co-host. However, the wo have gotten into a Twitter argument over what happened, which has spilled into an exchange of personal insults. Madden says that he left the show while Flair says that Madden was fired. The two went back and forth, with Flair announcing that he will be debuting a new podcast with his son-in-law Conrad Thompson starting next month.
I am leaving the @FlairUncensored podcast effective immediately. It’s not a g..

Ricochet Teases Next Intercontinental Title Challenger (And It’s A Bit Of A Surprise)

Maybe he’s up next. Titles are one of the easiest concepts to understand in wrestling. Someone has a championship belt and someone else wants it. That is all you need to carry a feud in a lot of cases and that is certainly the case in WWE. These feuds can be set up in a variety of ways and that might have happened again with one of the most historically important titles in WWE history.
Last week on SmackDown, WWE Intercontinental Champion Ricochet was defeated by both members of Los Lotharios, setting up a title match on next week’s show. Over the weekend, Xavier Woods tweeted that he would win the title later in the year. Ricochet responded to Woods, saying that after he gets done with Los Lotharios, he would be glad to “smack you up”. Woods defeated Ricochet in the first round of the 2021 King of the Ring, which Ricochet referenced in his response. While not confirmed, this could suggest that Woods will be a future challenger for the title.
Back to settle a score, then it’s time to..

WATCH: Trish Stratus And Becky Lynch Get Into It At WWE Live Event

That’s how you make a dream match. The Women’s Revolution has brought women’s wrestling to unbelievable heights in WWE, to the point where a women’s match even headlined WrestleMania. That is something few would have ever believed to be a realistic possibility but they pulled it off. So much of it is due to the talent involved, but they were influenced by the generation that came before them. This weekend, the generations collided.
This weekend, WWE ran a live event in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The event was hosted by WWE Hall of Famer Trish Stratus, a native of Toronto. The main event of the show saw Raw Women’s Champion Becky Lynch successfully defend her title against Rhea Ripley. After the match, Stratus got in the ring to confront Lynch, who slapped her. Ripley then took out Lynch to end the show.
It was a big showdown. Check out the battle of the generations:

Update On Possible WrestleMania Match After Injury Shook Up Plans

You need to have a plan. With less than a week to go before WrestleMania 38, it would be reasonable to think that WWE would have the card finalized. However, that does not seem to be the case, as there are several wrestlers still without a match on the show. WWE still has some time to set things up, but now they might need to change their minds one more time.
According to Fightful Select, a planned six man tag at WrestleMania might have been changed or even canceled. The original plan would have seen New Day face Butch/Sheamus/Ridge Holland in a six man tag. However, Big E. suffered a broken neck in a match earlier this month, meaning that plans had to be changed. The current plan would see Sheamus team up with Butch to face Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods, though Holland could be substituted for Butch. The match has not been officially announced in any form.
Opinion: I would certainly hope that the match still takes place in some form, as it has been set up for several weeks now but ..

Former WWE Star Returning To The Ring After Two+ Year Absence

Welcome back. Wrestlers are a little different than most mainstream athletes as retirement is not quite the same thing. While most athletes retire once and then stay retired, wrestlers will often come back for a one off match rather than having to take part in a full season. That means you can see some surprising returns, and that might be the case again later this year.
During a virtual signing with Captain’s Corner, former WWE star and NXT Champion Bo Dallas announced that he will be back in a wrestling ring within the next few months. Dallas gave no further details on the promotion or opponent he will be facing. Dallas’ most recent match took place on November 13, 2019 at a WWE live event and he was released from the company in April 2021. Since leaving WWE, Dallas has been working in other ventures but now says that his schedule has cleared enough for him to return to his passion.
Opinion: Dallas is someone I haven’t thought of in a good while but it would be nice to see him get ..
