Multiple Titles Change Hands At WrestleMania 38 Night Two

That’s the important part. There are a lot of titles under the WWE umbrella and some of them are among the most important in wrestling. It means a lot for a title change to take place and you do not get to see it happen very often with some championships. That makes a big time title change all the more important and that was the case more than once this weekend.
There were two title changes during the second night of WrestleMania 38. First up, Sasha Banks and Naomi defeated Rhea Ripley/Liv Morgan, Natalya/Shayna Baszler and champions Carmella/Queen Zelina to win the Women’s Tag Team Titles for the first time. Then, in the show’s main event, Roman Reigns defeated Brock Lesnar to unify the Universal and WWE Titles. There is no word on what the new title will be called.
Opinion: You knew that one of the titles was going to chance hands in the main event but the Women’s Tag Team Titles were a bit of a bonus. It can be fascinating to see a title change hands as you might not see it coming..

Something Happened At WrestleMania That Has Never Happened Before

There is a first time for everything. There are all kinds of wrestling moves in a match but only a handful of them are among the most well known. Many of these best known moves are finishing moves that wrestlers have turned into their signature offense. Those moves often signal the end of the match, but that is not always the case. It wasn’t the case this weekend, and it was kind of an historic moment.
During Night One of WrestleMania 38, Drew McIntyre defeated Happy Corbin. At one point in the match, Corbin hit McIntyre with his End of Days finisher but McIntyre kicked out. This is the first time that anyone had ever kicked out of the move, making it one of the longest protected finishers in WWE history. Corbin debuted on the main roster on the night after WrestleMania 32, one day shy of six years ago, during which no one had kicked out of the move.
Opinion: This is the kind of thing that kind of sneaks up on you and that can be rather interesting. Sometimes you don’t realize just h..

LOOK: Another Special WrestleMania Entrance Was Cut From The Show

What could have been. WrestleMania has been the biggest wrestling event of the year for the better part of forty years now and that seems likely to be the case for a long time to come. Everyone seems to be working especially hard and showcasing everything that they can do, which can include all kinds of special features. That was to be the case with someone else this year, but it did not wind up happening.
One of the matches on WrestleMania 38 Night One saw Drew McIntyre defeat Happy Corbin. A photo has been posted to Instagram, showing a group of men in kilts backstage at AT&T Stadium. The caption says that the group, called the Kilted Warriors, were supposed to accompany McIntyre to the ring but the entrance was canceled. This was not the only thing canceled on the show, as a match between the New Day and Ridge Holland/Sheamus was moved to the second night due to time constraints.

Ouch: Top AEW Star Dealing With Injury

That could be a big problem. Wrestling is a physical sport and there is always the chance that someone could get hurt out of nowhere. It isn’t good to see, but it is a reality that is always around. When wrestlers work even more than usual, the possibility becomes even stronger and that was the case again during the busiest weekend of the year. Now it seems to have caught up with a major star.
According to Wrestling Observer Radio, AEW’s Jon Moxley has suffered a hamstring injury at some point during a recent training session. Moxley is expected to work through the injury, as he wrestled multiple matches over WrestleMania weekend. He also appeared at NJPW Strong Lone Star Shootout and referenced the injury. There is no word on when Moxley is expected to wrestle next.
Opinion: This is the kind of thing that can happen and that is never a good thing to see. The good thing is that this doesn’t seem to be the most severe, as Moxley seems like he won’t be missing any time. That being said..

REVIEW: WrestleMania 38 Night One: They’re Back

Wrestlemania XXXVIII Night One
Date: April 2, 2022
Location: AT&T Stadium, Arlington, Texas
Attendance: 77,899
Commentators: Jimmy Smith, Corey Graves, Byron Saxton, Michael Cole, Pat McAfee
America the Beautiful: Brantley Gilbert
We have arrived at the biggest weekend in wrestling and this time it is back in the full capacity stadium. Again, this year’s show is split in two and again it feels like there is a good one night in between the two shows. That was the case last year though and the first night went well so maybe history can repeat itself. Let’s get to it.
Note that I was in attendance for this show, sitting in the third level off the floor in the end zone corner with the stage on my right.
Brantley Gilbert sings America the Beautiful.
Mark Wahlberg stars in the opening video and talks about how these people have a chance for a Texas sized helping of greatness. That is easier said than done though, as it is not easy to reach that level. Everyone has a chance though, so go ..

WrestleMania 38 Night Two Preview, Predictions And Thoughts

Dang it feels like we only did one of these things yesterday. It is time for the second night of Wrestlemania XXXVIII and they’re actually going to have their work cut out for them to do better than the first night. While I doubt anything is approaching Steve Austin actually having a match, there is a major main event that is going to have a lot behind the whole thing. Let’s get to it.
Johnny Knoxville vs. Sami Zayn
This is an Anything Goes match so Knoxville and his friends can get together and do a variety of wacky things to Zayn. That isn’t the most interesting way to go if you aren’t a Jackass fan, but this is a celebrity appearance that might work out. The point of Jackass seems to be seeing things happen to its cast so having Knoxville in a match is as good as anything else.
I’ll take Knoxville to win for the “feel good” moment, as Zayn has long since proven that he can take a loss like few others. I’m not sure how well the match is going to be but it should be a heck of a spe..

WrestleMania Match Pulled From Show With No Explanation

It happens occasionally. While a WWE pay per view has a lot of time and effort put into the setup, there is always the chance that something can go wrong. This can make for some interesting changes and many of them might not be the most positive. It seems to be have been the case again this week, though there is still the chance for things to be set right in the future.
There were originally seven matches scheduled to take place this weekend at the first night of WrestleMania 38. However, one of those matches did not take place, as New Day vs. Ridge Holland/Sheamus was pulled from the card. There is no word on why this was the case and nothing about the match possibly being moved to night two. The match was set up earlier in the week and is the continuation of a feud between the two sides.
Opinion: This is something that does happen every now and then, such as at WrestleMania 29 and WrestleMania 8, both of which had matches announced and canceled due to time issues. Odds are that is ..

Surprise Twist Takes Place After WrestleMania 38 Match

I guess it wasn’t meant to be. There are a lot of moving parts on any given WrestleMania card and that means things can change at a moment’s notice. This can be the case coming in to a match, during a match or even after a match, depending on the situation. That was the case again, as a post match situation saw a team split, despite not having much to complain about in the first place.
One of the matches during the first night of WrestleMania 38 saw the Miz and Logan Paul team up to defeat the Mysterios when Miz pinned Rey Mysterio. Following the match, Miz attacked Paul and mocked him, despite the two posing together. There was no explanation given for Miz’s attack and it is not clear if this is leading to a match. There is nothing to suggest that Paul will be sticking around after WrestleMania.
Opinion: I’m not sure what happened here as it might be setting up Miz vs. Paul later on, though that should probably happen after a loss rather than a victory. What matters here is that Miz..

Title Changes Hands At WrestleMania 38 Night One

The gold is moving. There are a lot of titles in WWE and some of them are among the most prestigious championships in wrestling. Several of them have been around a lot longer than most titles and it can mean a lot when one of them changes hands. You don’t see that take place very often, but when it does, it can be a big deal. That seemed to be the case again this weekend.
On Saturday night at WrestleMania 38, Bianca Belair defeated Becky Lynch to become the new Raw Women’s Champion. The victory gives Belair her first reign with the title, though the returning Lynch defeated her for the SmackDown Women’s Title at Summerslam 2021 in a match that lasted 36 seconds. This was the only title change of the night as the Usos retained the SmackDown Tag Team Titles while Charlotte retained the SmackDown Women’s Title.
Opinion: What mattered here was how special the match felt, as Belair got her title back after losing it about eight months ago. Belair has been one of the top stars in the women..

WWE Makes Major Announcement About WrestleMania 39

It’s a big one. WrestleMania 38 is half in the books and while there is so much left to be done, there is a lot to look forward to in the future. Just because 38 is almost over doesn’t mean that it is too late to start thinking about the next year’s edition, and WWE has already done just that. There is a trend continuing next year and your individual taste on it may vary widely.
On Saturday night at WrestleMania 38, WWE announced that WrestleMania 39 will again take place over two nights, this time at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California on April 1 and April 2, 2023. This will be the fourth straight year that Wrestlemania has been a two night event and the first WrestleMania in California since WrestleMania 31 back in 2015. There is no word on any match being set for the show so far.
Opinion: I don’t think there is any surprise here and that might not be a great thing, depending on your taste. At the end of the day, WWE likes making the shows this long and they are doing it again ne..

Cody Rhodes Discusses His Return To WWE, Leaving AEW

Cody Rhodes returned to WWE at WrestleMania 38, when he was revealed as the surprise opponent for Seth Rollins. In the days leading up to WrestleMania, he sat down with Variety in an interview that was published shortly after his return.
He discussed a number of topics, including the decision to return to WWE, leaving AEW, his current plans and more.
Below are some questions, along with Cody Rhodes’ answers:
How does it feel knowing you’re not only coming back to WWE, but coming back at WrestleMania?
Everyone who knows has asked me how I’m feeling, if I’m really excited. The answer I kind of keep giving everybody is it’s just a really heavy feeling. When I first got into wrestling, I was solely in the WWE system, and I had that dream of getting to the top. Then dreams are like rivers, as the Garth Brooks song says, and it veered and it changed. Then we were able to do what we were able to do with AEW and that’s something that I’m very proud of, but to be able to revisit the thing ..

“Stone Cold” Steve Austin Competes At WrestleMania 38

Oh Hell Yeah! In the final segment of Night 1 of WrestleMania 38, “Stone Cold” Steve Austin was a guest on the KO Show. However, the segment deteriorated and Kevin Owens ended up challenging The Rattlesnake to a No Holds Barred match, which was accepted.
This was Austin’s first match in 19 years.
The two ended up having a true wrestling match, even spilling out and fighting in the crowd. Not only did Austin take a suplex on the concrete, but he even through Owens through a table near the end of the match. The finish came when each of them hit Stunners on the other, with The Rattlesnake hitting the last one for the victory.
Editor’s Opinion:
I have to say that I was in complete shock when this ended up being a match. I figured it would end up being a quick 30-second exhibition like we got with The Rock a few years ago in Dallas, but this was a true, straight up fight. Not only did Austin look great and provided a WrestleMania moment that will be talked about for ages, but Kevin Owen..
