AEW’s Cable Partners Ban MJF From Advertising Over Recent Promo

I think he struck a nerve. Talking is one of most important abilities a wrestler can have, if not the very most important. Wrestlers can get in the ring and have a good match, but it takes something special to get fans invested in what is going on. That is where a great promo can come in, which was the case last week. It just might have been a little bit too great for some people.
Last week on AEW Dynamite, Maxwell Jacob Friedman gave an interview where he erupted on AEW as well as AEW President Tony Khan. Friedman talked about not being happy with his spot in the company or how he was being treated and at one point was censored. According to PWInsider.com, an edict has been issued at Warner Brothers Discovery ordering that Friedman be removed from all material promoting AEW, with different clips being used in their place. There is no word on how long Friedman could be removed from the footage or when he might appear on AEW TV again.
Opinion: I’m not entirely sure what is going on he..

WRESTLING RUMORS: WWE’s Backstage Reaction To Cody Rhodes vs. Seth Rollins

It deserves some praise. Every so often, you see a match that catches your attention for all of the right reasons. The whole thing comes together so well that it is impossible to not like it for almost every possible aspect. Those are the matches that will be remembered for a long time to come and now it has happened again, with even WWE getting in on the match’s praise.
The main event of this Sunday’s Hell In A Cell pay per view saw Cody Rhodes defeat Seth Rollins in the show’s namesake match. Rhodes wrestled the match with a torn pectoral muscle, leaving him injured throughout. According to the WrestleVotes Twitter account, those at WWE’s Gorilla position were said to have “loved” the match and seen it as a modern classic, which WWE will treat it as going forward.
I’ve had multiple sources reach out this morning w/ exemplary words for the performance Cody Rhodes put in last night. Credit to Seth Rollins as well. Those at Gorilla were said to have LOVED the match. A modern day, all ..

Pair Them Up: WWE Teases New Team On Monday Night Raw

That’s a way to go. With so many wrestlers on the WWE roster, it can be difficult to find a way to present everyone in one way or another. One of the best possible options is to pair wrestlers together in a team, as multiple wrestlers are able to appear at the same time. While it has not been made official, WWE seemed to tease a new pairing this week on Monday Night Raw.
The main event of this week’s Monday Night Raw was a four way match to crown a new #1 contender to the Raw Women’s Title, featuring Doudrop, Rhea Ripley, Alexa Bliss and Liv Morgan. During the match, Morgan and Bliss worked together multiple times, prompting WWE to send out a series of tweets talking about their teamwork. This included asking fans to name the pairing and mentioning their teamwork. There is nothing official about the two becoming a team, though WWE did mention that a tournament for the vacant Women’s Tag Team Titles was coming in the near future.
Prepare for trouble.
And make it double.@YaOnlyLivvOnce..

REVIEW: Money In The Bank 2020: Like Never Before

Welcome to KB’s Old School (and New School) Reviews. I’ve been reviewing wrestling shows for over twelve years now and have reviewed over 6,000 shows. Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, I’ll be posting a new review here on Wrestlingrumors.net. It could be anything from modern WWE to old school to indies to anything in between. Note that I rate using letters instead of stars and I don’t rate matches under three minutes as really, how good or bad can something that short be?
Money In The Bank 2020
Date: May 10, 2020
Location: WWE Performance Center, Orlando, Florida
Commentators: Michael Cole, Corey Graves, Samoa Joe, Byron Saxton, Tom Phillips
It’s a special event this time around as the majority of the show will be taking place in the Performance Center but the two ladder matches, taking place at the same time because reasons, are to be held at WWE Headquarters in Connecticut. This could be anywhere between a disaster or fascinating, or perhaps a combination of both. Let’s get to it..

Run It Back: WWE May Be Running A WrestleMania 38 Rematch At Summerslam

They might have an idea. We are officially into the summer season for WWE shows and that means WWE should have long since had some plans for its upcoming major events. This includes Summerslam, which is the biggest show WWE presents all summer. The show is still over a month away, but WWE does have a possible plan, at least for one of its higher profile matches.
According to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, WWE may be considering a WrestleMania 38 rematch between Becky Lynch and Bianca Belair for the Raw Women’s Title. Lynch returned from maternity leave at last year’s Summerslam and beat Belair in less than a minute before Belair defeated her in a rematch earlier this year at WrestleMania 38. No matches have been announced for Summerslam so far.
Opinion: Is there really no other match that WWE can present for this show? Belair vs. Lynch has already happened multiple times and while it was very good, I could go for seeing someone else getting a chance in the titles scene. Ly..

Important Injury Update On AEW’s Adam Cole

He’s worth the wait. Every now and then, you will see a string of injuries in wrestling and it can slow down any promotion. You never want to see someone go on the shelf for any reason but it can be even worse when it slows things down for the entire promotion. That is the case again with AEW at the moment, though at least this time we might have an idea of when one name will be back.
Last week, reports surfaced that AEW’s Adam Cole had suffered some sort of an injury. As a result, Cole was removed from a ten man tag on last week’s edition of Dynamite. According to Wrestling Observer Radio, Cole will be out of action until around Forbidden Door on June 26. It is not clear if he will be wrestling on the show, though he has never been announced for a match.
Opinion: The fact that Cole is likely only going to be out for about a month rather than several months is quite the good sign as this could be a lot worse. You never know how bad an injury is going to be at the start so thankfully ..

Start The Card: First Title Match Set For WWE Money In The Bank

There’s one. We are now done with Hell In A Cell, meaning Money In The Bank is right around the corner. The next major WWE pay per view is in less than a month and the show is going to need to be a big one. WWE knows to put on a special show and they have already started setting up the card, as a first title match was set for the show this very week.
This week on Monday Night Raw, Rhea Ripley won a fatal four way match to become the new #1 contender for the Raw Women’s Title. As a result, Ripley will be challenging Bianca Belair for the title at Monday In The Bank on July 2. Ripley defeated Liv Morgan, Alexa Bliss and Doudrop to gain the title shot, pinning Doudrop with the Riptide in the show’s main event.
Opinion: This is the way you build a show as WWE wasted no time in setting up a fresh title match for the pay per view. That alone is more than you could say for a lot of Hell In A Cell so it is nice to see things getting off on the right foot. WWE has a lot of work left to do to ..

NXT UK Results – June 2, 2022

NXT UK
Date: June 2, 2022
Location: BT Sports Studios, London, England
Commentators: Andy Shepherd, Nigel McGuinness
It’s time for another title match as the Tag Team Titles are up for grabs, this time in a triple threat. Moustache Mountain will be defending against Die Familie and Ashton Smith/Oliver Carter, the latter of whom has been on quite the roll lately. Other than that, we could be in for a bit of anything so let’s get to it.
The opening video looks at the Tag Team Title match and how the teams all want to leave with the belts.
Opening sequence.
Sam Gradwell vs. Von Wagner Wagner gets the better of a slugout to start and some elbow drops have Gradwell breathing rather deeply. A fall away slam drops Gradwell again as commentary puts over Wagner as much as they can. The crossface chickenwing is broken up so Wagner knees him in the back to cut him off again. Gradwell fights out of a bearhug but gets put right back in it just a few seconds later. The second comeback works a bi..

Huge Shakeup To WWE Stable, Original Member Out And New Member In

Well that’s different. Stables are one of the best ideas in wrestling as they allow several wrestlers to get television time on a regular basis. Sometimes it is the only way for a wrestler to be able to make a show and the idea has worked for a very long time. That is the case again in WWE, but now the team has been completely shaken up in a way that might not have been expected.
This week’s Monday Night Raw featured Judgment Day announcing that Finn Balor was joining the team. However, Balor, Damian Priest and Rhea Ripley turned on Edge, the founder of the team, and beat him down. Edge was hit with a Conchairto to leave him laying. There is no word on the future of the team or how long Edge might be out of action as a result.
Opinion: That’s certainly a curve ball and that is not a bad thing. I haven’t been wild on Judgment Day so far but I can go with having Balor get something else to do, as he has been kind of stuck doing the same things over and over again for a long time. Maybe..

BREAKING: John Cena Officially Set For WWE Return

There’s your return. There are certain stars who are bigger than just about everyone else and there is no way to hide it. You do not see too many of them throughout WWE history but you certainly know one when you see them. That is the case in modern WWE as well and now one of the biggest stars in the history of the company will be making a return to television.
John Cena’s return to WWE was announced this week on Monday Night Raw. Cena will be returning on the June 27 Monday Night Raw from Laredo, Texas. The show is the final episode before Money in the Bank, though it is not clear what Cena will be doing. This will be Cena’s first appearance since August 2021, when he lost to Roman Reigns in the main event of Summerslam.
Opinion: This is one of those things that could change a lot for WWE, if nothing else for the sake of growing the audience. Cena is one of the few names who is a bigger star than anyone else on the roster no matter what he is doing and there is always the chance tha..

Monday Night Raw

We are done with Hell In A Cell and that means we are done with Cody Rhodes for the time being. Rhodes defeated Seth Rollins in the main event last night but did so with a torn pectoral muscle. We won’t be seeing him for a long time, so now the question is what happens on the road to Money In The Bank. I’m sure that song will ensue. Let’s get to it.

NXT LVL Up Results – June 3, 2022

NXT LVL Up
Date: June 3, 2022
Location: Capitol Wrestling Center, Orlando, Florida
Commentators: Nigel McGuinness, Sudu Shah
The normal trend of this show is likely to continue this week as we have three more matches between people who aren’t usually going to make it to NXT proper. That can make for some acceptable background noise but rarely much more than that unfortunately. You get used to the concept though so let’s get to it.
Opening sequence.
Fallon Henley vs. Brooklyn Barlow They go to the mat to start and it’s a pair of standoffs before Henley grabs the armbar. An exchange of rollups get two each and Barlow wants her to bring it. Back up and they fight over a lockup until Barlow starts working on the arm instead. She cranks on the neck as well but Henley fights out with a faceplant. A running knee finishes for Henley 4:22.
Result: Fallon Henley b. Brooklyn Barlow – Running knee (4:22)
Tatum Paxley vs. Sloane Jacobs They grapple around to start with neither being able to ge..
