Seth Rollins Discusses Hearing Cody Rhodes’ Music At WrestleMania 38, more

WWE superstar Seth Rollins was recently interviewed by Stephanie Chase of Digital Spy, where he discussed several topics. Among them were facing Cody Rhodes at Wrestlemania 38, when we can expect a reunion of The Shield and more.
Below are some highlights from the interview:
On hearing Cody Rhodes’ music at Wrestlemania 38:
“I just didn’t think it was ever going to happen, or maybe I didn’t think it was ever going to happen so soon. I suppose I always thought maybe Cody would come back, but I didn’t think it was going to be as quickly as it happened.
“So to hear his music ‘Kingdom’ over the speakers and that entrance specifically, the presentation of the American Nightmare in a WWE setting, it was pretty surreal to be standing in the middle of the ring.”
On Rhodes tearing his pectoral muscle:
“It was pretty gnarly,” Rollins said. “I don’t think I expected it to look like that. I’ve had some torn muscles in my day, and I know that the blood seeps down, gravity just takes over, but..

The Undertaker Appears at San-Diego Comic Con 2022

According to a report from Ringside News, The Undertaker made a surprise appearance after a 45-minute session in room 6A of the convention center, presented by Mattel. Many fans mistook the Deadman’s entrance song for the reveal of a retro mid-’90s Monday Night Raw Undertaker figure and were caught off guard when the WWE Hall of Famer appeared out of nowhere.
He then continued to assist and introduce the remainder of the Mattel WWE collection, much to the pleasure of the WWE Universe fans in attendance and the WWE Superstars on stage. Other stars that were on stage included Cody Rhodes and Tomasso Ciampa.

We’re coming off of a title change last week as Mark Coffey FINALLY took the Heritage Cup from Noam Dar, ending his record reign. After the match, Joe Coffey made his return to celebrate with his brother as things seem to be going well for Gallus for a change. Let’s get to it.
We open with a recap of Mark Coffey’s win last week.
Opening sequence.
Isla Dawn vs. Fallon Henley Henley forearms away to start and hits an elbow to the face before armdragging her into the ropes. That means a forearm to the face but Dawn sends her into the corner to take over. A running kick to the chest gives Dawn two and we hit the cross arm choke. Henley fights up and drives her into the corner for the break, only to get kicked in the head. Dawn hits a half nelson slam for the pin at 5:13.

REVIEW: PWG Zombies Shouldn’t Run: They’re Faster Than Zombies

Welcome to KB’s Old School (and New School) Reviews. I’ve been reviewing wrestling shows for over twelve years now and have reviewed over 6,000 shows. Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, I’ll be posting a new review here on Wrestlingrumors.net. It could be anything from modern WWE to old school to indies to anything in between. Note that I rate using letters instead of stars and I don’t rate matches under three minutes as really, how good or bad can something that short be?

It’s back to PWG as I continue my efforts to go through my pile of downloaded shows. This is a show from a rather long time ago but you are probably going to know a lot of the people on this show. That can make these shows that much more fun as I have no idea what to expect here. Let’s get to it.
Keep in mind that I know very little about the promotion so I’m..

Wrestler’s Remorse: Seth Rollins Apologizes After Bad Interaction With Fans

Can you blame him? Wrestlers are a rare breed in that they do their jobs right in front of your eyes. That is more than difficult as there are no second changes to get things correct. At the same time, wrestlers are also expected to stay in shape for the ring, which makes free time that much more difficult to come by. That was evident recently, and now a star feels the need to apologize.
WWE’s Seth Rollins took to Instagram to apologize to some fans that he was “very harsh and abrupt” with during a recent workout. Rollins said that some fans ran into he and his wife Becky Lynch in the middle of a long workout. He apologized for his reaction and said he would love to do so as well in person. Rollins also said that if you see him at his wrestling school, he’s willing to take a picture or talk to fans, though they may have to wait until he is done teaching or working out.

It’s A Painful Game: What Happened After Violent Ending To AEW Dynamite

That could have gone better. There are a lot of match types in wrestling and some of them are built more on violence than anything else. These can be the big finale for a feud and that can make for some rather big moments. It can be better when it is a match type that you do not see happen very often, which was the case again this week. As it turns out, there was more to it after the show was over.
The main event of this week’s AEW Dynamite was a barbed wire match between Chris Jericho and Eddie Kingston, with Jericho winning. After the match, Kingston attacked Jericho again and sent him from the apron onto a barbed wire board on the floor. According to PWInsider.com, following the show, Jericho was removed from the barbed wire and taken from the arena on a stretcher.
Opinion: That is the way such a night should end, as Jericho was in a very violent and bloody match and shouldn’t have been able to leave on his own. I’m not sure why the post match angle needed to take place so soon af..

WWE Makes Big Change To Summerslam And Then Changes it Right Back

They were thinking about it. WWE has been a PG product for a very long time now and that has been part of the company’s strongest financial period ever. Fans seem to like the idea of a safer show for family viewing and it has certainly been a success. However, that is not working out for some fans and the television audiences continue to trend down. WWE has been toying with the idea of some changes, and one seemed ready to happen, at least for a few hours.
On Wednesday, Peacock had the upcoming Summerslam broadcast rated as a TV-14 event, before ultimately changing it back to a TV-PG, as WWE shows have been for years. This comes as WWE had reportedly been discussing moving Monday Night Raw back to a TV-14 rating. There is no word on when such a change would take place, or if the change will involve other WWE shows.

Remember Him? Edge Could Be Going Back To A Classic When He Returns

That’s a different way to go. When a wrestler has been around for a long time, there are certain periods of their careers that stand out. It might be an angle or a feud or something similar, but sometimes it is a run that has little to do with anyone else. That is the case with a variety of legends, one of who is set to make his return under the most successful moniker of his career.
Back in June, Edge was written off of WWE TV when he was attacked by Finn Balor and Damian Priest. Edge is scheduled to be at Monday Night Raw this week, though it is not clear what he is going to be doing. According to Wrestling Observer Live, Edge is likely to return as the Rated R Superstar, though it is not clear if he will be a babyface or a heel. The return has not been announced in advance by WWE.
Opinion: This is one of those things that should be a good thing for everyone involved. You can all but guarantee that Edge is going to be back for a big grudge match at Summerslam and putting him in his..

No Reunion Invitation For Them: WWE Forgot Two Of Its Wrestlers Are Related

Shouldn’t they know that? WWE has a rather large roster and the company knows how to use a good portion of them. This can involve using them in a bunch of different ways, some of which can be more successful than others. On occasion a wrestler has a natural connection to someone else and it makes sense to put them together. That is the case with a current pair of WWE stars, but WWE forgot something about them.
Angel Garza and Humberto Carrillo, collectively known as Los Lotharios, were interviewed by Fightful Select. During the interview, Garza revealed that while they told WWE they were cousins when they were trying out, the company had to be reminded of it once they had been signed. Garza said that the two did everything together, including moving to Orlando, before having to remind WWE that they were related. Los Lotharios have been teaming together since September 2021.
Opinion: On one hand, I can get how WWE forgot about this but at the same time, it’s one of those things that i..

Cody Rhodes Wins WWE Moment of the Year at 2022 ESPYS

It truly is his kingdom. Tonight at the 2022 ESPY Awards, hosted by ESPN, Cody Rhodes picked up the award for WWE Moment of the Year. This was for his return to the company at Wrestlemania 37.
The honor was announced as Rhodes presented the ESPY for Best Comeback Athlete, which went to Klay Thompson of the Golden State Warriors.

Switchover: AEW Star Turns Heel In Surprising Moment On Dynamite

There’s your switch. There are a lot of ways to present a wrestler and some of them involve switching things up a bit. At some point a wrestler needs to be freshened up a bit, which can also shake up a story going forward. Occasionally it can involved a wrestler turning from either good to evil or vice versa. That was the case again this week in a major spot, and it seems to be setting up something down the road.
The main event of this week’s AEW Dynamite was a barbed wire match between Eddie Kingston and Chris Jericho, with the Jericho Appreciation Society suspended in a shark cage above the ring. Ruby Soho was in charge of the cage but Tay Conti attacked her during the match. Anna Jay ran in to save Soho before turning on her and siding with Conti, turning heel in the process. Jay and Conti are former partners and friends who split earlier in the year.
Opinion: AEW certainly likes to turn wrestlers to the dark side and that is going to become a problem one day. At some point, the c..

Surprise Return And Reunion Takes Place On AEW Dynamite

Welcome back. There are a lot of ways to set up a feud between wrestlers and one of the best can be to have someone betray their friend. It sets up a personal rivalry that people can understand and works well most of the time. The initial betrayal can set up a big moment down the line, and that big moment took place this week, with another moment following.
Back in June, Christian Cage turned on Jungle Boy and laid him out before siding with Luchasaurus a week later. This week on Dynamite, Cage and Luchasaurus won a tag match, with Jungle Boy returning after the match. Luchasaurus sided with Jungle Boy, who chased Cage out of the arena with a chair. There is currently no word on a match between Cage and Jungle Boy in the future. o
Opinion: This is the kind of thing that can set up more than a few interesting possible matches. I could go for Cage vs. Jungle Boy or Cage finding someone to set up a tag match. Either of them could go somewhere good and now the question is about finding o..
