WATCH: WWE’s Top 20 Greatest Summerslam Moments (With Some Interesting Choices)

It’s a show without a theme. WWE has a long history on pay per view, with some of their shows dating back well over thirty years. While there are several regular pay per views, WWE has a group of shows known as the Big Four which run every year. We are coming up on another of them, and that means WWE is going to do what they do best: look back at some history.
On July 30, the 35th annual Summerslam will be held at Nissan Stadium in Nashville, Tennessee. As a result, WWE has released a video highlighting the Top 20 Greatest Summerslam Moments of all time. The list includes moments and matches from the first edition of the show up to modern editions. Summerslam debuted in 1988 and has been held annually since.
This is quite the list. Check out the Top 20:

Opinion: This is one of those lists where there will always be debate to be had over who gets what spot. There are so many moments in the show’s history, which makes things more interesting..

WATCH: Darby Allin Attacked By House Of Black At San Diego Comic Con

They’re making this a habit. AEW has a lot of wrestlers but a rather limited amount of television time. The company only had three hours a week between Dynamite and Rampage, which doesn’t leave much time for everyone to get out there. It can be smart to mix it up a little bit and take things outside of the arena for some flavor, and that is what some wrestlers have been doing.
Earlier this month, AEW ran an angle at an autograph signing where Brodie King attacked Darby Allin. They ran a similar angle this weekend, where the entire House Of Black attacked Allin during a panel at the San Diego Comic Con. King and Aleister Black both jumped Allin and laid him on a table. This comes after the two sides, with Sting backing Allin up, have faced off on recent editions of AEW TV.
It was a different way to go. Check out the House of Black’s latest assault on Allin:

Opinion: I could go for more of something like this, as Allin has been decimated mult..

Two Of A Kind? Rather Odd Pairing Makes Debut At NXT Live Event

What a twosome. With so many wrestlers around WWE, both on the main roster and in NXT, it can be difficult to find something for everyone to do. There are a lot of people who have nothing to do and are waiting on the sidelines for whatever opening they can have. That is the case with a former main roster star, who might have found something new to do in NXT.
Over the last few weeks, Cora Jade has turned on former partner and friend Roxanne Perez, turning heel in the process. This includes Jade vacating her half of the NXT Women’s Tag Team Titles, leaving Perez as a sole champion. NXT held a live event over the weekend in Cocoa, Florida with Jade appearing next to Commander Azeez, seemingly as her new bodyguard. Azeez has not been seen on NXT TV since he was sent down to the roster along with Apollo Crews. There is no word on if this will be a permanent move or just a tryout at a live event.

Let Him In? Bray Wyatt Makes Reference To Vince McMahon, Hints At New Beginning

He seems to be a fan. There are certain wrestlers who catch your attention no matter what they do. It might be something as simple as they way they move or the way they speak, but sometimes you can see it in their eyes. That is the case with a certain former WWE Champion, and now he has done something that might get some people wondering what he is doing next.
Former WWE Champion Bray Wyatt has updated his Twitter biography to include a quote from Vince McMahon. The quote says “Begin again kid, it’s what you do.” There is nothing to indicate what Wyatt means, though the quote was included the day before McMahon officially retired from WWE. Wyatt has been out of wrestling since being released from WWE on July 31, 2021.

Yeowch: CM Punk Reveals New Details About Injury, Worse Than Previously Reported

That doesn’t sound good. There are all kinds of ways for a wrestler to get hurt and some of them can be rather serious. Some of the injuries are things that take place instantly during the course of a match while others are things that build up over time. Then there are the fluke injuries when a wrestler isn’t even active in the ring. One of the top stars in wrestling today is dealing with a combination of both and it was a little more serious than we thought.
According to PWInsider.com, AEW World Champion CM Punk appeared at the AEW panel at the San Diego Comic Con and addressed his current foot injury. Punk revealed that his foot was “shattered” on June 2 and he is having to learn how to walk again. Punk was also said to be icing his foot and wearing a walking boot at the convention. It is not clear when he will be allowed to return to the ring.
Opinion: That makes things all the worse and hopefully things get better for Punk in a hurry. It could be a long time before Punk is able ..

Jonathan Gresham Requests ROH/AEW Release After “Cussing Out” Tony Khan

The champ may be out. According to a report from Fightful Select, former ROH Heavyweight Champion Jonathan Gresham has requested his release from ROH & AEW.
The report states that Gresham asked for his release Saturday ahead of the Death Before Dishonor pay-per-view. He defended the ROH World Heavyweight Championship against Claudio Castagnoli and dropped the title to him in the opening match fo the show.
“A lack of communication between the company and Gresham leading up to the weekend” led him to feel “disrespected.” The lack of time given to the World Title match during last night’s show was also a noted “tipping point.” Gresham reportedly met with Tony Khan before the show began and got heated enough to the point that he was “cussing out” the boss.
The former champion has since responded to inquiries about the ordeal and is said to be “done with wrestling for the foreseeable future after this month.”
We will continue to monitor this story and provide updates as they become avai..

That Would Be A Loss: Legendary Name May Be Gone From AEW And ROH

He’s gone? While wrestlers are the focal point of any wrestling show, there are other people on television who are going to be getting some attention of their own. That can often be the case with someone doing the talking for the wrestlers, which can often make for a great combination. However, now one of the better talkers in wrestling today might be looking for a new place to go.
Tully Blanchard was absent from this weekend’s Ring Of Honor Death Before Dishonor event and was seemingly written off of television as Prince Nana announced his purchase of Tully Blanchard Enterprises. According to Fightful Select, it is not clear why Blanchard was missing, with possible reasons ranging from possible travel issues to Blanchard’s prison ministry. Either way, Blanchard was said to be done with Ring Of Honor, though it is not clear if he will be back in AEW.
Opinion: This is kind of a weird situation and hopefully Blanchard can find somewhere to go. He is way too good of a talker to not have..

Editorial: The Legacy of Vince McMahon

The most important person in the history of professional wrestling is stepping away. Over the weekend, Vince McMahon announced that he was retiring after over 40 years of being in charge of World Wrestling Entertainment. The man who made WWE a global brand and revolutionized the term “sports entertainment” has decided to step down from the empire that he created.
Whenever something like this occurs, and a person of this magnitude takes himself out of the equation, the first thing that many people immediately do is reflect on his life. And that’s what I would like to do today, as well as ask the important question: What will be the legacy of Vince McMahon?
I always feel it’s important to acknowledge all the incredible contributions of a person as they prepare to take their final bow. Though, to be fair, with Vince, this may not be the end, as we know how erratic of a person he can be. However, it is important to reflect on what this man has done not only for professional wrestling but..

Next In Line: Here’s Who Will Be Taking Over For Vince McMahon In WWE

Someone has to do it. The biggest wrestling story in a long time took place this week as Vince McMahon finally retired from WWE. McMahon has run the company for over forty years and now we are in for a very different future. The question becomes who will take over McMahon’s jobs, and now we have an idea of that, plus some of the other changes that may be coming.
According to Fightful Select, Bruce Prichard is taking over leadership of the creative team, with his first show in charge being this week’s SmackDown, with Triple H and Ed Koskey assisting. There is a chance that this is only a temporary situation and no permanent choice has been made. According to some WWE talent, Prichard being in charge would not bring about much change. However, one change expected to be made is fewer rematches, as McMahon had a tendency to forget that a match had taken place and would book it again no matter what. There is no word on when a permanent decision will be made.
Opinion: Something tells me th..

Say What? There Were Already Some Changes Made To WWE In Vince McMahon’s Absence

You can already feel it. Earlier this week, Vince McMahon officially retired from WWE, meaning that we are entering into a brand new era in the company. This could be quite the change of pace and there is no way of knowing just how things are going to go. One of the biggest changes is going to be the lack of McMahon influence on the product and some of those changes have already started taking place.
According to Wrestling Observer Radio, there were multiple changes made during this week’s SmackDown, the first show without McMahon in charge. Some of these included New Day mentioning Ring Of Honor and the IWGP Tag Team Titles, as well as Michael Cole referring to “the WWE fans”. There is no word on other changes that might be made, but the lack of McMahon talking to the commentators throughout the show could cause more to take place.
Opinion: This is the kind of thing that could be rather interesting. There are going to be a lot of changes to WWE in the big picture, but the smaller on..

YES! Good News On Bryan Danielson’s In-Ring Status

That could have been a lot worse. There are all kinds of injuries in the wrestling world and some of them are a lot worse than others. You never know what kind of action can put someone on the shelf for a very long time and the waiting is one of the worst things about the entire situation. That was the case with a top AEW star but now we have some good news about his health.
AEW’s Bryan Danielson was injured during the Anarchy in the Arena match at Double Or Nothing, reportedly suffering a concussion. This is the latest in a long series of concussions for Danielson, who missed years of his career as a result of the injuries. However, this week at Ring Of Honor’s Death Before Dishonor, Danielson’s return to the ring was announced for the July 27 edition of Dynamite, where he will face Daniel Garcia. This will be Danielson’s first match May 29.
Opinion: That is quite the relief as you never want to see someone on the shelf, but it can be even worse when they have a history of injuries ..

Multiple Titles Change Hands At ROH Death Before Dishonor

That’s a busy night. Titles are the easiest concept in all of wrestling and they always will be. Anyone can understand the idea of someone with the big shiny belt being the best around and in wrestling, those belts have to be defended. When one of them changes hands, it feels like something special has happened and that was the case again this weekend, multiple times over.
Saturday night, Ring Of Honor made its return to pay per view with Death Before Dishonor. The card featured six title matches, with two title changes taking place. First up, Claudio Castagnoli win the Ring Of Honor World Title from Jonathan Gresham in the show’s opening match. Then, the Righteous lost the Ring Of Honor Six Man Tag Team Titles to Dalton Castle and the Boys, marking Castle and the Boys’ second reign as champions. The Pure Title, the Women’s Title, the Television Title and the Tag Team Titles were all retained.
Opinion: This was quite the eventful night for Ring Of Honor, as having a single title chan..
