They have a plan for that. This year’s Summerslam is now out of the way and that means the end of the year is not that far away. Once we get to the end of the year, it is time to start getting ready for WrestleMania season, which means the show is going to need a main event. WWE might have something planned for the show and it might be one of the biggest matches in a long time.
According to Wrestling Observer Radio, WWE’s current plan is for The Rock to face Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 39. It is not clear if the match would be for the Undisputed WWE Universal Title or not. There is also no guarantee that the match will take place, as Rock may have something bigger come along before the show. There is no word on who would face Reigns if Rock is unavailable.
Opinion: This is firmly in the category of I’ll believe it when I see it, as Rock getting back in the ring for a major match is not something that you see happen very often. He hasn’t wrestled a serious match in over ten years and..

The Road to Clash At The Castle is on and will have absolutely no bearing on this show whatsoever. I’ve again give up on trying to figure out what is going on with this show from one week to another and that means we are probably in for random matches this week. That works to an extent, but it can get a little tiresome after awhile. Let’s get to it.
Opening sequence.
Dante Chen/Guru Raaj vs. Bryson Montana/Damaris Griffin Raaj and Montana grapple a bit until Raaj hits a dropkick to stagger him. Chen comes in for a chop but Montana is back with a clothesline. Griffin hits a chokebomb into a neck crank as we talk about Rhea Ripley hurting Dominik Mysterio. With that broken up, the double tag brings in Chen and Montana with the former cleaning house. Everything breaks down and Griffin misses a middle rope splash, allowing Chen to hit a double chop for the pin a..

Get ready for more of him. NXT is in a strange position as it has to do two things at once. In addition to being the WWE’s third brand, it is also the company’s official developmental program. As a result, NXT is designed to send stars up to the main roster, which has a hit or miss record. Now that there is a new boss in WWE, a former star from his time in NXT might be getting another big chance.
According to Fightful Select, WWE is working on plans to bring Kevin Owens back to television. Owens has not wrestled or appeared since Money In The Bank in July and is not injured. There has been fan speculation that he could get a stronger push now that Triple H is in charge of WWE Creative. Triple H was responsible for giving Owens his push in NXT, as well as being paired with him on television when Owens was Universal Champion.
Opinion: I would certainly hope that Owens would be given a better chance in WWE. Owens has been up and down lately to say the least, as he was doing very little,..

Please don’t be bad. Wrestling is a dangerous sport and there is only so much that can be done about it. No matter how much training or skill a wrestler may have, there is always the chance that someone could get hurt in the blink of an eye. That could be the case due to all kinds of things and unfortunately that was the case this weekend, as a match had to be called off.
According to F4WOnline.com, NXT’s Tatum Paxley was injured during a match over the weekend against Sloane Jacobs. While not confirmed, the injury seemed to take place when Paxley was kicked in the face, sending her head first into the post. The match was stopped with Paley bleeding. Paxley would later post to Twitter, saying that she will be ok and thanking the fans for their concern. There is no word on if Paxley will miss any ring time.

That might be an issue. There are a lot of very talented wrestlers on the AEW roster and a lot of them have been put together into a variety of matches. Some of those matches have developed into quite the series of rivalries, including some for championships. It seemed that we were coming up on another one in the near future but now that might not be the case anymore.
According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the original plan for next month’s AEW All Out would have seen the Young Bucks vs. FTR in a winner take all match for the AEW, IWGP, AAA and Ring Of Honor Tag Team Titles. However, now the plan seems to have changed to the Young Bucks going after the newly formed Trios Titles, possibly with the returning Kenny Omega as their partner. AEW reportedly feels that the Bucks in the Trios Title match has a potential to bring in more money than the Bucks vs. FTR, which still may take place down the line.
Opinion: This is one of those things that can be annoying, as FTR vs. the Buc..

That’s not a good sign. The recent and ongoing changes in WWE have shaken up the company in a lot of ways. Some of these changes have involved wrestlers being changed entirely, with some of them not even appearing on television in recent weeks. That might be the case for a certain SmackDown star, who has not exactly had the best year so far and it might get worse.
Earlier this year, Lacey Evans made her return after missing over a year on maternity leave. Evans has been moved from SmackDown to Monday Night Raw and back while only wrestling four matches on television. According to Fightful Select, there are currently no creative plans for Evans, whose scheduled match on July 29 was canceled, with Evans being listed as “not medically cleared”. Evans was reportedly a favorite of Vince McMahon who worked with her personally, though her return was described as “chaotic and directionless”.

That would be a welcome change. WWE has been shaken up in ways that no one would have thought possible in the last few weeks and those changes are continuing every day. There have been changes both in front of and behind the camera as the new regime takes over and now we get to see the adjustments that are being made. One of them might involve a wrestler going back to a previous identity.
WWE SmackDown star Angel has sent out a tweet mentioning his former name of Angel Garza, saying “Angel Garza….back”, suggesting he might be returning to his former ring name. Angel’s last name was dropped last year, as has been the case with several WWE wrestlers over the years. Angel is currently one half of of the Los Lotharios tag team with his cousin Humberto.

Update the name tag. A wrestler needs to have the right name to really fit in around the wrestling world. Wrestlers not having a great name can be quite the problem, especially if it is tied to the wrong gimmick. However, there are several ways to fix things later on, especially if someone has not been around in a little while. That might be the case again for a WWE star.
According to Mike Johnson during a Q&A on PWInsider.com, T-Bar has been brought up as someone who could be “recast” in WWE. T-Bar, formerly known as Dominik Dijakovic in NXT, has mainly been used in NXT since Retribution broke up. This comes as WWE has been using T-Bar’s name more often on television, but other than battle royal appearances, he has not wrestled on television since the February 28 Monday Night Raw, when he lost to Omos in 40 seconds.

He might have a future. There have been all kinds of changes taking place in WWE in recent weeks and some of them have involved wrestlers making surprise returns. That was the case this week as Karrion Kross made his return on SmackDown. Seeing Kross back was surprising enough, but now it seems that he might be in for quite the push in his own right.
According to Fightful Select, there have been pitches in WWE creative to immediately put Kross into the WWE Universal Title feud between champion Roman Reigns and Drew McIntyre. One possible plan could see Kross challenging Reigns for one of his titles in a potential split of the championships. This comes as the USA Network has been requesting a title of its own as Reigns rarely appears on the show, with an interim title being pitched. There is no word on if such an idea was seriously considered by WWE.
Opinion: I was surprised to see Kross back in WWE but going straight from that to the main event scene might be a bit too much of a jump..

It’s something else. Wrestlers have a weird relationship with acting. There have been some success stories over the years, but one of the most common criticisms is that while wrestlers act in the ring, they are only wrestlers when they try acting on screen. That does not stop them from trying though and now another WWE star might have done something to get his foot in the acting door.
According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, NXT’s Sanga will appear in the upcoming Bollywood film Brahmastra Part One: Shiva. The film, which will be released on September 9, will be Sanga’s first film after he appeared in a television show from 2013-2014. WWE has made no mention of his part in the film. Sanga most recently wrestled on the July 12 edition of NXT where he defeated Duke Hudson.

Please don’t be bad. Injuries are one of the worst things that you can see happen in wrestling. Not only can they stop a storyline or a match from continuing as planned, but much more importantly they can put someone in a bad spot in the short and long term. Unfortunately that might be the case again as a WWE star might have been injured over the weekend.
According to a variety of posts on Twitter, Carmella may have been injured during a WWE live event over the weekend. Carmella was facing Asuka and Raw Women’s Champion Bianca Belair in a title match and seems to have been injured when she ran into the corner. Carmella’s husband Corey Graves tweeted about the incident before deleting the tweet. WWE has not acknowledged it in any way.

That’s a painful one. There are all kinds of injuries in wrestling and you never know when you are going to see one. It could be something built up for a long time or something that happens all at once. The latter can be more devastating as they can come out of nowhere, and that seems to be the case again, as a star was injured during a match that took place this week.
This week, AEW presented its third Battle Of The Belts event. During the show, AEW Women’s Champion Thunder Rosa successfully defended her title against Jamie Hayter. According to Fightful Select, Hayter suffered a broken nose during the match, though she did finish the match without issue. Hayter has been pulled from her scheduled appearances with Icons of Wrestling, though it is not clear if she will miss any time from AEW.
