It’s About Time. Final Inductee Announced For The 2019 Hall Of Fame Class.

Time for the struttin and the cuttin. It’s the go home week for WrestleMania 35 and we don’t have many more things to take care of. Well save for the Raw Tag Team Title match, the SmackDown Tag Team Title match, whatever else they have planned for the Raw Women’s Title match and probably multiple other things. As of today though, we don’t have anyone left to announce for the Hall of Fame Class of 2019.
WWE.com has announced that Brutus the Barber Beefcake will be inducted into the Hall of Fame on Saturday night. Beefcake has been rumored to be inducted for several weeks and was spoiled by an announcement on a New York City radio station last week. Beefcake was a one time World Tag Team Champion and was scheduled to win the Intercontinental Title before having his face destroyed in a parasailing accident in 1990. There is no word on who will be inducting him.
Beefcake was better than you might remember. Check out one of his biggest matches at WrestleMania VI:

Watch: John Oliver Slams Vince McMahon As “Billionaire On The Broken Backs” Of His Non-Employees”; Rallies Fans Ahead Of WrestleMania

I guess not everyone is a fan. There’s no real argument against WWE being the biggest wrestling company in the world. That has been the case for the better part of thirty five years (save for a few years in the mid 1990s). With dominance like that, you can imagine that the company has a bit of control that other companies aren’t going to be able to maintain. As it turns out, there are some major issues that go along with this.
These is a lot of stuff here and it doesn’t look great. Check out the full segment from last night’s show:

WWE was the focus of a segment on Last Week Tonight With John Oliver on Sunday. The main point of the segment was on WWE’s lack of caring for its employees, with a major focus on its lack of benefits to the wrestlers, such as healthcare, due to the wrestlers officially being independent contractors. This included an explanation of the definition of an independent contractor according to the IRS, which says that a..

One More Adjustment. WWE Likely Making Big Change To WrestleMania Main Event.

Just in case we needed something else. Last week saw one of the biggest stories in wrestling in a very long time as the Raw Women’s Title match was announced as the main event of WrestleMania 35. Then things got a little bit more complicated when Charlotte, who is challenging for the title became SmackDown Women’s Champion the next day. As you might have guessed, this was going to lead to a change of the WrestleMania match, and now we might know the details.
According to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, this week’s Monday Night Raw could see a change in the WrestleMania main event, with the match being turned into a Winner Take All match. This is a change from the middle of the week, when the idea was to have whoever won the fall win the title of whichever champion they defeated, though now it seems that the winner will be leaving with both titles. The official status is likely to be addressed on Monday Night Raw.
It’s what set things up. Check out the title change from Smac..

Really Cool Video: WrestleMania By The Numbers

I always love this thing. No event in wrestling has the kind of history that WrestleMania holds. We’re coming up on the thirty fifth edition, which is going to be one of the biggest (certainly longest) of all time. There are other big shows throughout WWE’s history, including the Royal Rumble, which gets an annual history package based on the show’s numbers. Now it’s time for WrestleMania to follow suit.
This is very cool. Check out WrestleMania By The Numbers:

WWE has released a video called WrestleMania By The Numbers, looking back at the show’s history with a series of numbers, including attendance, win/losses and appearances. The list includes entries from individual shows as well as over time. There is one number that is changed, with King Kong Bundy’s alleged eight second victory over SD Jones at the first WrestleMania being switched to a much more accurate twenty four second victory instead.
Opinion: I could watch this kind of thing..

Someone Else Isn’t Happy With Their Status In WWE (And You Can’t Blame Him)

We might have another one. It seems that we can’t go a week without having someone being unhappy with WWE and wanting to leave. A year ago that wouldn’t have been a very big deal, but with the rise of AEW and other promotions, there is suddenly a lot more reason to believe that someone who wants out may actually get out. We now have our latest candidate.
Tyler Breeze sent out a series of Tweets on Sunday, seemingly venting frustration about being stuck on Main Event instead of being a regular performer on Monday Night Raw or SmackDown Live. Breeze also talked to a fan, saying that a push like the one received by Jinder Mahal isn’t likely for him and also speaking to a referee, saying Breeze will see him tomorrow at Main Event. Breeze has performed regularly on Main Event this year with his last match on Monday Night Raw coming on December 28, 2018 in a battle royal.

So Nice They Make It Bigger. SmackDown Live May Be Split Up During The Move To FOX.

Just like big brother. With WrestleMania 35 being just a week away, a story that has been flying underneath the radar is the impending move of SmackDown Live to FOX. The move is only about six months from now and it’s clear that the show is going to become a bigger deal. As it turns out, there might be so much of the new show that one network isn’t enough to contain it all.
According to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, there is a chance that SmackDown Live could be expanded to three hours, with the first two hours on the show taking place on FOX with a third hour moving over to FOX Sports 1. If this is the case, WWE could make more money from FOX for the additional material. There is no word on what this would mean for 205 Live, which airs after SmackDown Live.
With SmackDown moving, it deserves a look back. Check out the all time best moments:

Rumor: Even More Matches Being Added To WrestleMania Card This Week.

It’s not over! I don’t know how many more ways I can come up with to say how many matches are going to be on the WrestleMania 35 card. There is a very good chance that the show is going to break the record for the most matches at a single WrestleMania with more matches being added to the card even with so little time left to go before the show. As it turns out, we might be seeing even more.
According to Postwrestling.com, there is a chance that both the Raw Tag Team Titles and SmackDown Tag Team Titles could also be defended on the show. There is no word on who would be challenging for either set of titles, but there is a chance that one set of titles could have changed hands before the show. According to WWE.com, the Revival is set to defend the Raw Tag Team Titles against Ricochet and Aleister Black on this week’s Monday Night Raw.
They’ve tried this before. Check out Black and Ricochet getting a shot at the titles earlier this month:

Video: Woo Yeah! Ric Flair Is Selling Coffee And Pizza.

He’s still got it. If there’s one thing that Ric Flair can do, it’s be one of the most entertaining and charismatic wrestlers in history. Even at 70 years old, he’s still able to go out there and make you care about him, no matter what he’s doing. That makes him a rather marketable guy in the right circumstances, as it’s hard to ignore someone in a big feathery rope shouting WOO. That’s the case again.
Flair is featured in a pair of new commercials for Cumberland Farms stores, featuring a lot of WOOing. The commercials are rather short and show Flair in his robe shouting WOO over and over inside the convenience store, with one of the ads offering a set of subtitles to translate whatever that is supposed to be. At the moment these are the only ads for Flair, though there is always a chance to see more of them in the future.
These are nice and to the point. Check out what Flair has to sell:

Hold Your Horses. Rumor Killer On Possible WrestleMania Ending.

Not so fast? Earlier this week, the SmackDown women’s division, the SmackDown Women’s Title and the main event of WrestleMania 35 (for the Raw Women’s Title) all took a major turn when Charlotte defeated Asuka for the SmackDown Women’s Title. It’s not clear what this is going to mean yet for WrestleMania, but one rumored event seems to not be the case anymore.
According to Dave Meltzer on F4WOnline.com by way of 411mania.com, there is no truth to the rumor that WWE is planning to have the Four Horsewomen of NXT pose to end the show. The four (Bayley, Sasha Banks, Charlotte and Becky Lynch) could all leave the show with titles, though there are currently no plans to have them recreate their pose from Takeover: Brooklyn in 2015. However, Meltzer does mention that Vince McMahon could change his mind all over again.
So this isn’t happening. Check out the original pose:

What Were The Original Plans For Kevin Owens’ Return And What Is Next For Him? The Answers Might Surprise You.

You mean they didn’t think it through? Remember last month when Kevin Owens returned to WWE and had a pay per view title match? Remember that match being awesome? Now do you remember Owens doing anything other than hosting an episode of the Kevin Owens Show since then? It’s almost like Owens was brought back up too soon and it’s become a problem. So what has been going on?
According to Mike Johnson on PW Insider Elite Audio, the original plans were to bring Owens back up on either the Monday Night Raw or SmackDown Live after WrestleMania 35. This obviously did not happen and Owens was brought back to television in a hurry with no plans for him. At the moment, Owens has nothing scheduled for WrestleMania and has only wrestled in a tag match since his title match at Fastlane.
Owens certainly hasn’t lost a step. Check out him talking as only he can:

Main Event Results – March 28, 2019

Main Event
Date: March 28, 2019
Location: TD Garden, Boston, Massachusetts
Commentators: Percy Watson, Byron Saxton, Renee Young
We’re long since in the home stretch towards Wrestlemania and that means we have a lot of recapping to do. I’m not sure what the point is in having these original matches when there is more stuff that could be done, but why mess with what….well I guess it’s worked somewhat over the rest of the year. Let’s get to it.
Opening sequence.
EC3 vs. Tyler Breeze Breeze has gotten a haircut and hits a dropkick into an early chinlock. That’s reversed into a seated full nelson which is reversed with a jawbreaker as Renee seems to approve of EC3’s physique. There’s the EC3 Elbow but a powerbomb is countered into a superkick for two. Breeze’s hurricanrana gets the same but it’s the 1%er for the pin on Breeze at 4:48.
Result: EC3 b. Tyler Breeze – 1%er (4:48)
We look at the announcement of the Raw Women’s Title match main eventing Wrestlemania.

We’re still in Las Vegas and on the way to the both United We Stand and Rebellion, meaning it’s hard to say what we’re going to be seeing in the next few weeks. I’m hoping we get something fresh in the main event again like last week, as a break from the seemingly never ending World Title story was a welcome change of pace. Let’s get to it.
Opening recap and preview, this time with narration for a change.
Opening sequence.
Here are LAX and the Lucha Bros for an unsanctioned fight, meaning the Tag Team Titles aren’t on the lines. The fight is on in a hurry with a worried Konnan watching from ringside. Security is out in a hurry and the fans want to seem them fight. The Bros superkick security and manage to sneak up on LAX with a pair of chair shots. Now it’s table time but LAX gets up with a pair of spinebusters to put them through the tables in..
