More Details On Drew Gulak Returning To WWE

So that’s what happened. Wrestlers can come and go from a wrestling promotion at the drop of a hat. That is a pretty common situation but it is a pretty fast turnaround to see someone leave WWE and be back in less than ten weeks. It isn’t something you see every day but it can make for a heck of a story. We have that taking place at the moment and now we have some more details.
Back on May 15, Drew Gulak lost to Daniel Bryan in the first round of a tournament for the vacant Intercontinental Title. The following day, news broke that Gulak was gone from WWE. That was quite the surprise, but less than two weeks later, more news came out that Gulak was already back in WWE. It sounds like something that has more to the story and now we know what it is.
According to Wrestling Observer Radio, Gulak did not accept any offers from other promotions during his time away. Since Gulak’s contract expired, he would have been allowed to wrestle for any promotion he wanted with no non-compete clause ..

RUMOR: Adam Cole’s WWE Status As He Appears With AEW Stars

So long Bay-Bay Cole? There are a lot of talented wrestlers down in NXT and one of the biggest questions involves seeing the wrestlers move up to the main roster. That can be one of the most interesting times in all of WWE at the moment, but it doesn’t do a ton of good for NXT. What makes it even worse though is having a wrestler leave NXT without going to the main roster. That could be a possibility at the moment.
Over nearly the last three years, the Undisputed Era has been a force in NXT. The team has reached some incredible success, including a stretch where the group held all of the men’s titles in NXT, putting them in the same conversation as the Four Horsemen and Evolution. Adam Cole has always been the centerpiece of the team, but that might not be the case much longer.
According to Wrestlingnews.co, Adam Cole’s current WWE contract is up in August or September and he may be interested in going to AEW. Cole’s girlfriend Britt Baker works for AEW and there is a chance that he ..

Grudge Match Set For NXT Takeover: In Your House

The card keeps growing. If there is one thing that NXT knows how to do, it is set up a Takeover card in a hurry. They are very good at setting feuds up in advance, which allows them to announce matches in rapid succession. That is the kind of thing that can help out a lot and given how little time they had from the announcement of their next Takeover to the show itself, and now we know another match.
One of the bigger stories in NXT as of late has been Damian Priest attacking Finn Balor. The attacks started just over a month ago with Balor being taken out in the back before a scheduled match. Balor swore revenge on whomever did it but then Priest attacked him again, revealing himself as the attacker all along. I think you can figure out where this is going.
WWE.com has officially announced that Balor and Priest will meet in a match on at NXT Takeover: In Your House on June 7. This will be Priest and Balor’s first match against each other, though they have teamed together at some NXT ..

More On Matt Riddle’s Main Roster Call Up

It’s one of two ways. There are a lot of talented wrestlers down in NXT but it takes the right kind of performer to come up to the main roster. Someone has to have the correct balance of charisma and in-ring skills to make it work. That isn’t the most common thing in the world but the times when you see someone get the call, it can be something special. That should be coming up soon, and now we know some more about it.
Matt Riddle is one of the more unique performers in a very long time. Not only does he have more charisma than he knows what to do with, but he has the mixed martial arts background to make it work in the ring. That is the kind of thing you don’t get to see very often but you will be seeing Riddle on one of the main rosters soon enough. But which one will it be?
According to PWInsider.com, Riddle will be moving up to SmackDown in the near future, though it is not clear when that move will take place. Riddle is currently scheduled to face Timothy Thatcher in a steel cag..

Popular NXT Star Coming To Main Roster Soon

Let em know bro. Over the last few years, NXT has become one of the best things in all of wrestling. Their weekly television show is incredibly well received more often than not and Takeovers are regularly considered some of the best shows of the year. The regular roster on the shows are some of the better performers in the world, but now one of them might be moving on up.
Sometimes in wrestling, you find someone who is a natural at what they do. Maybe it’s due to their in-ring abilities or their charisma, but the best have a combination of both. That is the case with a fair few names in wrestling today and one of them had that mixture the day he first set foot in a ring. Now though, he might be getting ready to move into a vastly different ring.
According to F4WOnline.com, NXT star Matt Riddle will be called up to the main roster “imminently”. Riddle is currently scheduled to face Timothy Thatcher in a cage match on this week’s NXT. There is no word on which main roster show Riddle ..

Details On Rey Mysterio’s Retirement Ceremony

That sounds important. At some point, every wrestler has to hang up their boots for good. It might not seem like something that will happen to everyone, but as the saying goes, Father Time is undefeated. No matter how good a wrestler may be, they are going to walk away at some point. That seems to be the case with a certain top WWE name, but it might not be happening as advertised.
There may never be a more popular or successful masked wrestler than Rey Mysterio. He has been around for over twenty five years now and is a multiple time WWE World Champion. His style revolutionized wrestling and has inspired countless wrestlers over the next generation. Mysterio will have to retire at some day as well and WWE is advertising it for next week. Hold on a second though.
WWE has announced that Seth Rollins will be hosting Mysterio’s retirement ceremony. This comes after Rollins attacked Mysterio two weeks ago on Monday Night Raw, causing him to move into retirement. Mysterio has not been see..

Former Champion May Be Returning To WWE TV

Remember him? One of the interesting things about WWE is how you see so many people come and go from the company. There are going to be a lot of wrestlers that you forget over time as there are all kinds of people who don’t get the chance to make enough of an impact. Sometimes that is due to their career ending early, but they might have something else to offer the company.
One of the sadder stories over the last five years in wrestling is that of Tyson Kidd. After several years of working his way up the card, Kidd was injured in a match on June 1, 2015. The injured ended his career, though he is still working for WWE as a producer. That is something he could do for years, but now he might be getting to do something else for the company soon.
During this week’s Monday Night Raw, Kidd (not shown) called his wife Natalya as she was about to have an interview. The two of them seemed to have a disagreement over something and as a result, Natalya was unable to have her interview due to a ..

Recently Departed WWE Star Already Back?

That didn’t take long. Like any other business, wrestling is going to see a lot of turnover. Wrestlers can come and go at any given time, whether or not they have a long term contract. Even if someone is scheduled to be around a company for a long time, they might be left at home or just not used in one way or another. The opposite can be true as well, which seems to be the case.
Earlier this month, WWE began a tournament to crown a new Intercontinental Champion thanks to Sami Zayn being stripped of the title. One of the first round matches saw Daniel Bryan defeat Drew Gulak, which wasn’t exactly shocking. The surprise came the next day, when Gulak left the company following his contract expiring. That was more than a week ago though and things have already changed.
As of Monday, Gulak is once again listed as a member of the SmackDown roster on WWE.com. Also, according to Fightful.com, Gulak appeared at the most recent SmackDown tapings and will appear in a segment on this week’s sho..

REVIEW: WrestleCade SuperShow 2018: Nice To See You Again

Welcome to KB’s Old School (and New School) Reviews. I’ve been reviewing wrestling shows for over ten years now and have reviewed over 5,000 shows. Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, I’ll be posting a new review here on Wrestlingrumors.net, starting today. It could be anything from modern WWE to old school to indies to anything in between. Note that I rate using letters instead of stars and I don’t rate matches under three minutes as really, how good or bad can something that short be?
WrestleCade 2018 Supershow
Date: November 24, 2018
Location: Benton Convention Center, Winston-Salem, North Carolina
Commentators: Blake Chadrick, Cyrus Fees
So this is kind of like WrestleCon Thanksgiving with a big wrestling convention and a few shows, including this supershow. I’ve wanted to go down to this for a few years but I might as well take a look at the major show. This could be anywhere from great to horrible and it’s hard to guess one way or another. Let’s get to it.
National Anthem. ..

New Title Match Set For Backlash

We’re on the way there. WWE is still rolling on with their events despite the Coronavirus, and that means it is time to get ready for Backlash. The show is one of the more generic pay per views on the calendar so the show is sold on the strength of the matches involved. That can work well enough under the right circumstances and now we know another part of the card.
Back on the May 11 Monday Night Raw, Becky Lynch announced that she was pregnant and forced to vacate the Raw Women’s Title. As a result, Ms. Money in the Bank Asuka became the new champion. This sent her off on a new path in the company, but it also made her the most hunted wrestler in the division. We now know where she is going to start as champion and it’s a different kind of challenge.
This week on Monday Night Raw, Nia Jax defeated Charlotte and Natalya in a triple threat match to earn a shot at Asuka’s Raw Women’s Title at Backlash. Jax won the title after breaking up the Figure Eight to Charlotte and hitting a Sam..

WATCH: Bray Wyatt vs. Randy Orton From Payback 2017; House of Horrors Match

A pre-cursor to the present. WWE has posted a new video to its YouTube channel in which they show the House of Horrors Match from Payback 2017 between Bray Wyatt and Randy Orton.
You can see the match in its entirety below:

From WWE.com:
From the moment Orton was driven up to the House of Horrors, he encountered a series of terrorizing sights. When he dared to approach the house, Orton spotted Wyatt in the window and proceeded to kick the door open. There, The Viper stepped into a dwelling filled with truly unspeakable evil. Among the dark distractions that filled every corner and shadow of the space, The Eater of Worlds appeared from nowhere and unleashed an all-out assault, dismantling both his opponent and the house. Whenever Orton managed to gain an advantage, Wyatt would disappear, then use the interfering horrors of his establishment to regain the advantage.
The first part of this showdown culminated in the House of Horrors’ kitchen, where both Superstars ruthlessly brawled ..

WATCH: John Cena vs. The Miz; “I Quit” Match From Over The Limit 2011

The two most difficult words in wrestling. WWE has posted a new video to its YouTube page in which they show the full “I Quit” Match for the WWE Championship between John Cena and The Miz from Over The Limit 2011.
You can see the match in its entirety below:

From WWE.com:
The Awesome One knew he’d have to pull out all the stops if he wanted to leave WWE Over the Limit as champion, which is why he immediately took advantage of the fact that there were no disqualifications. Calling on the aid of his VP of Corporate Communications, The Miz turned the bout into a makeshift Handicap Match and brutally double-teamed Cena with Alex Riley from the opening bell. Attacking their loathed enemy with everything that wasn’t nailed down, the vile duo abused The Champ, but he would not give up.
When his physicality didn’t get the job done, The Miz borrowed a trick that The Rock used in his 1999 “I Quit” Match against Mankind and played a recording of Cena screaming the only two words that can bri..
