Three SmackDown Stars On Monday Night Raw, One Sticking Around

Triple take. There are a lot of people on the WWE roster and it can be rather difficult to get them all on television every single week. One of the best ways to do so has been the Brand Split, with wrestlers appearing on one show instead of both. Sometimes there are exceptions to the rule of course, which was the case again this week on Monday Night Raw in three cases.
One of the perks of the Brand Split has been how special it feels when you see the brands coming together again. This does not happen very often in WWE but it feels like an important moment when it does take place. That was the case this week on Monday Night Raw as two wrestlers were scheduled to come over. It turns out that they did not come alone.
This week on Monday Night Raw, three SmackDown superstars made appearances. SmackDown Tag Team Champions Cesaro and Shinsuke Nakamura lost a champions vs. champions match against the Raw Tag Team Champions the Street Profits in a scheduled match. Later in the show, Braun St..

WrestleMania 37 Weekend Facing Major Scheduling Conflict, Venue May Be Changed

The more things change. WrestleMania 36 took place about five months ago and it is a show that almost no one will forget. The biggest wrestling show of the year was forced to take place in front of no fans due to the Coronavirus pandemic, leaving the show feeling like it was taking place in a glorified warehouse. It was WrestleMania, but it certainly didn’t feel like one. Now things might not even be ready for next year either.
We are less than seven months away from WrestleMania 37 and it is long past time to start making preparations for the show. WWE needs to know what they are going to do as far as the card goes, but they also need to know what they are going to do as far as holding the show. The Coronavirus has changed a lot of things and now it might have changed some more as far as everything else going on over the big weekend.
According to Wrestlinginc.com, the Staples Center, which is the scheduled venue for SmackDown, Takeover and Monday Night Raw over WrestleMania weekend ..

WWE News: Retribution Has Their First Set Of Enemies

Meet the new team. Nearly two months ago, the group who would become known as Retribution debuted on Monday Night Raw and started causing a lot of problems for WWE. The team has changed a bit since then, now including their own logo and almost a theme song in the form of the lights going out throughout the arena. They have become a pretty big story on the show, but now someone has taken notice.
One of the better stories over the course of the year on Monday Night Raw has been the rise of the Hurt Business. Led by MVP, the team has gone from formation to success in just a few short months, including Bobby Lashley winning the United States Title and Cedric Alexander turning on his friends to join the team last week. They are a rather powerful group and now they have some more enemies.
This week on Monday Night Raw, the Hurt Business was interrupted by a Retribution interview. Later in the night, the Hurt Business offered to be the new security that dealt with Retribution, with WWE offi..

WWE Shakes Up Monday Night Raw Commentary Team Again

They did it again. Commentary is one of the most important parts of a wrestling show as the commentators can explain a lot of things to the fans. The group can tell the fans where they want things to go, what they should focus on, and how WWE wants them to think about the show. The right group is necessary to make everything work and WWE has been making some adjustments, including this week.
While the commentary team is led by the play by play person, a former wrestler can offer a lot of good things to a team. You need someone that the fans can recognize as being an expect, as it offers a different level of credibility. A former wrestler, especially a successful one, can enhance the entire team through their own history alone, which is what WWE was shooting for on television.
This week on Monday Night Raw, Dolph Ziggler replaced Samoa Joe on commentary with no explanation from WWE as to where Samoa Joe was or when he would return. MVP would later replace Ziggler when Ziggler went off..

REVIEW: Night Of Champions 2014: Don’t Let Him Do It Again

Welcome to KB’s Old School (and New School) Reviews. I’ve been reviewing wrestling shows for over ten years now and have reviewed over 5,000 shows. Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, I’ll be posting a new review here on Wrestlingrumors.net. It could be anything from modern WWE to old school to indies to anything in between. Note that I rate using letters instead of stars and I don’t rate matches under three minutes as really, how good or bad can something that short be?
Night of Champions 2014
Date: September 21, 2014
Location: Bridgestone Arena, Nashville, Tennessee
Commentators: Michael Cole, John Bradshaw Layfield, Jerry Lawler
This is the textbook definition of a one match show and now the second or third biggest match isn’t happening. Yesterday Roman Reigns was sent to the hospital with a hernia, putting him out of action for several weeks if not months. The main event is of course Cena vs. Lesnar II (III if you count the match from two and a half years ago) with Lesnar defendi..

Clash Of Champions Title Match Changed, Challenger In Doubt

You can still make adjustments. There are a lot of things being set up for Clash Of Champions and every one of them so far is built around a championship match. That is a nice thing to see as title feuds are as easy of a match to put together as you can have. WWE has set up several matches already but one of them is a little more personal. That match will now get a little bonus.
The main event of Clash Of Champions will see WWE Champion Drew McIntyre defending against Randy Orton. The two of them have been feuding for over a month now, including McIntyre pinning Orton at Summerslam. Since then, they have traded kicks to the head and put one another on the shelf. Now we are going to be seeing something a little different in their rematch.
During this week’s Monday Night Raw, McIntyre challenged Orton to an ambulance match at Clash Of Champions. This came after the two of them have attacked each other over the last several weeks, including both sending the other to the hospital. The ma..

Monday Night Raw Live Coverage And Results – September 14, 2020

Monday Night Raw
Date: September 14, 2020
Location: Amway Center, Orlando, Florida
Commentators: Michael Cole, Byron Saxton, Dolph Ziggler
We are less than two weeks away from Clash Of Champions but more importantly this is In Your Face Raw, which is no way their big show to counter the debut of Monday Night Football. Therefore, the question here is how far do they get blown back to the Stone Age in terms of the ratings and viewership. Let’s get to it.
Opening sequence.
Dolph Ziggler is on commentary for the opening preview.
Here’s Drew McIntyre to open things up, now with the sound of a sword being pulled out of a sheath because that’s a thing WWE loves. We see a long recap of the exchange of kicks to the head over the last few years. Back in the arena, McIntyre says that Orton should be lucky that his head is still on his head. McIntyre has been told that because of his fractured jaw, he needs to take some time off. However, that means vacating the WWE Championship so that isn’t ..

WWE Confirms New Title Match For Clash Of Champions

Keep them coming. We are less than two weeks away from Clash Of Champions and that means that the card still has some work to be done. With so many championships available to be defended, WWE needs to set up a few of their title matches over the next few weeks. Some of the title matches are already set but there are plenty more to go. WWE has now checked another off the list.
The Women’s Tag Team Titles have gotten a nice boost over the last few months. The titles are still less than two years old and they have a long way to go in the future. One of the best ways to build up the titles is to have teams fighting to hold the belts. It makes them feel more valuable and that is what we are going to be getting at Clash Of Champions. One of the teams even has a team name.
WWE.com has announced that the Riott Squad will be challenging Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler for the Women’s Tag Team Titles at Clash Of Champions. The Riott Squad won a #1 contenders match by defeating the IIconics on the A..

Ivar Set To Undergo Neck Surgery

That’s a bad turn of events. One of the scariest parts of an injury is seeing just how long someone is going to be on the shelf. There are some injuries that you know are going to be a lot worse than others and the neck is one of the worst possible areas to have injured. Neck surgery can put someone on the shelf for a very long time if not permanently, and we might be seeing something similar soon.
Last week on Monday Night Raw, Ivar of the Viking Raiders hit a suicide dive during an eight man tag but immediately threw up the X sign, meaning that he was legitimately injured. It was the kind of injury that required him to be taken away on a stretcher after the match and then the waiting game was on. Ivar’s neck was clearly hurt, but the question was how bad. Now we know a bit more.
According to Wrestling Observer Live, Ivar is scheduled to undergo neck surgery this week. There is currently no word on how long Ivar’s recovery time will be or how long it will be before he can get back i..

VIDEO: John Morrison Starring In New Film

It’s something else. Over the years, a lot of wrestlers have tried their hand in acting. The two industries do seem to go hand in hand and it isn’t crazy to imagine a wrestler becoming a successful actor. However, that has rarely seemed to be the case, as a lot of wrestlers who have gone into the other field have not exactly been thriving successes. The Rock has been quite the example in the field, but now someone else is seemingly making a run at it.
Back in 2017, John Hennigan (better known as John Morrison of SmackDown fame) released a film called Boone: The Bounty Hunter, featuring himself as both the star and co-writer. The film was a step above the usual direct to video fare that you see from wrestlers and seemed to keep Hennigan’s interest in the field alive. Hennigan had some screen presence to him and now we are going to be seeing him in another movie role.
This seems interesting. Check out a trailer for Hennigan’s new film:

Is The Elite Finished In AEW?

Kenny Omega and Hangman Adam Page’s AEW World Tag Team Championship loss to FTR at September 5’s All Out was not exactly the upset of the year. Cash Wheeler and Dax Harwood had a world of momentum going into the match and since their departure from WWE, their title win was a foregone conclusion for many pro wrestling fans.
But the fallout from that win has left The Elite in disarray. Page is out of the group due to The Young Bucks, who appear to be turning on everyone around them. Omega has decided to return to singles competition and Cody has disappeared from AEW programming. Does all of this signal the end of The Elite?
It’s hard to imagine that The Elite is truly finished. After all, these are the same men who formed AEW in the first place. Without The Elite, there is obviously no All Elite Wrestling. But it does appear that the group has reached a critical point in their run and maybe that’s exactly what needs to happen.
One of the chief criticisms against AEW in the very beginn..
