Important Update On Monday Night Raw Injury Scare

That’s a relief. One of the worst parts about a wrestler being injured is wondering how long they are going to be on the shelf. There is almost no way of knowing the extent of an injury as someone being hurt could put them out of action for a long time. However, some injuries seem to be a lot scarier than they actually are, and thankfully that seems to be the case with another from this week.
According to Wrestling Observer Radio, Humberto Carrillo is ok after an injury scare during his match against Sheamus on Monday Night Raw. Carrillo could “wrestle tomorrow” if he needed to. Carrillo’s match against Sheamus ended in a referee stoppage when Sheamus landed on Carrillo’s leg during a sunset bomb. The two laid on the outside for a few moments before the referee stopped the match and awarded Sheamus the victory. There is no word on if WWE will make an angle out of the injury scare.
This could have been worse. Check out how the match went, plus what a healthy Carrillo can do:

AEW’s Ricky Starks Out Of Action With A Broken Neck

That’s Kurt Angle’s deal. There are all kinds of injuries in wrestling and some of them are a lot worse than others. You see people get hurt every now and then and sometimes you wonder how they keep going. One of the most amazing things is finding out that someone has been hurt worse than expected, and that is the case again with a horrible AEW injury.
According to Voices of Wrestling, AEW’s Ricky Starks will be out of action for three months with a broken neck. The injury took place during a match on the April 21 edition of Dynamite, when Starks landed on his head during a German suplex from Hangman Page. Starks attempted to backflip out of the move but did not go far enough, causing the injury, though Starks finished the match.
According to Fightful, the injury is considered to be a slight fracture and surgery will not be required to repair the damage. Starks has officially wrestled a tag match since the injury, though he only stood on the apron for a tag team match, which lasted l..

REVIEW: In Your House #1: A Late Mother’s Day Present

Welcome to KB’s Old School (and New School) Reviews. I’ve been reviewing wrestling shows for over ten years now and have reviewed over 5,000 shows. Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, I’ll be posting a new review here on Wrestlingrumors.net. It could be anything from modern WWE to old school to indies to anything in between. Note that I rate using letters instead of stars and I don’t rate matches under three minutes as really, how good or bad can something that short be?
In Your House #1
Date: May 14, 1995
Location: Onondaga War Memorial, Syracuse, New York
Attendance: 7,000
Commentators: Vince McMahon, Doc Hendrix
The main event is Diesel defending the WWF Title against Sid, but there is something a bit bigger. The main story tonight is the WWF giving away an actual house down in Florida to play up the In Your House name. This was a major idea that was heavily promoted on WWF television leading up to the show. It was a nice marketing idea as it gave some adults a reason to care abou..

WWE Management Says Match “Set The Business Back 30 Years”

I guess they weren’t fans. For the better part of twenty years, WWE had very little, if any, serious competition at the top of the wrestling world. The company completely dominated the industry and there was nothing that came close to them. That is still mainly the case, but there is now another company doing fairly well, as AEW has grown by leaps and bounds in their brief existence. Last week AEW presented a match and WWE was not too thrilled with it.
Last week, AEW presented its first ever Blood & Guts match, serving as their version of WarGames. The match featured ten wrestlers, many of whom were bleeding by the end. According to PWInsider, WWE management felt that the match “set the business back 30 years”. However, WWE wrestlers felt that the match was great and would love to do something similar. It is not clear what part of the match angered WWE officials.
The match was certainly intense. Check out what happened and see if you can find the part WWE did not like:

What Is Next For Mia Yim/Reckoning In WWE

It’s a place to start. There are so many wrestlers on the WWE roster that it can be hard to find something for all of them to do. That is kind of a nice problem to have as it means that WWE has more choices than it knows what to do with at the moment. It seems to be the case now, but WWE has a new plan in mind for one of their stars looking for something to do.
According to Fightful Select, Reckoning, also known as Mia Yim, was scheduled to debut on last week’s SmackDown in a match against Carmella. The match did not take place due to reasons that are not clear, though Carmella did appear on the show, defeating Ruby Riott. It is expected that Yim vs. Carmella will take place, though it is not clear which name Yim will wrestle under.
Yim has been part of WWE since 2018, following a pair of appearances in the first two Mae Young Classics. She spent just shy of three years in NXT, where she wrestled under the Yim name. In August 2020, she moved up to the main roster as part of the Retri..

RUMOR: Update On Becky Lynch’s WWE Status

Stay a bit. There are some major names in WWE but some of them are even bigger than others. You get to see some of the top stars in the world in WWE and when those stars are at the top of their game, they are absolutely awesome to watch. It makes sense for WWE to want to have them around for as long as they can, and now the company may have re-signed one of its top stars.
According to Ringsidenews.com, Becky Lynch has signed a new deal with WWE in recent weeks. The deal comes while Lynch has been away from wrestling for about a year now as she has been away on maternity leave. Lynch’s previous contract was signed in March 2019 and it is not clear when her current deal expires, or now long her new deal will last. There is no word on when Lynch will be back on WWE television.
You might remember her. Check out some of Lynch’s best moments:

New Day Is Coming Together For Some Special Treatment

They’re worth another look. There are very few acts in professional wrestling who truly get over and then stay over for several years. It is even harder to pull off today when everything moves at such a fast pace, but when it happens, you can certainly feel how special it really is. That was the case with a team that split last year, but now we are getting a special look back.
BOOM! Studios have announced that they will release a comic book origin story for the New Day. The first of the two issue mini series, entitled “WWE New Day: The Power Of Positivity”, will debut in July 2021 with the second issue following at some point in the future. The series will focus on all three members of the team and how they came together, following various struggles in WWE.
New Day was formed in 2014, with Xavier Woods offering Kofi Kingston and Big E. inspiration following a loss. The team stayed together for only a few weeks before returning in November as the version of the team that would stick a..

Former WWE Champion Returns To In-Ring Competition

He’s back! It’s always a special time when a former WWE Champion makes his return to in-ring competition after being away for a while. One of these instances occurred tonight on Raw.
Jinder Mahal made his return to Raw, alongside his new cohorts Shanky and Veer. He would go on to defeat Jeff Hardy in his return match. You can see a clip of that below:

The Modern-Day Maharaja has not been seen regularly on WWE programming since June of 2020, when WWE announced that he was going to be out of action with a knee injury. He is a former WWE Champion, holding the title for 170 days during the summer and fall of 2017.
Editor’s Opinion:
I have always been a fan of Jinder Mahal’s and I am beyond thrilled to see him back. Not only does he appear to be in great shape, but he looked good in his return match with Hardy during the show. I doubt that he will ever have the opportunity to be WWE Champion again, but this doesn’t mean that he can’t contribut..

New Gimmick Match Announced For WrestleMania Backlash

There’s still time for more. We are less than a week away from WrestleMania Backlash and the card still has quite a few holes to fill in. With so many things left to add to the show, it is time to start getting things rolling. That was the case during this week’s edition of Monday Night Raw when a grudge match was added, but now there is going to be a little twist.
This week on Monday Night Raw, a match between Miz and Damian Priest was announced for WrestleMania Backlash. However, the match will not be a traditional one as Priest was allowed to pick the stipulation due to defeating Miz’s partner John Morrison during the show. As a result, the match will be a lumberjack match, which Priest selected due to being tired of Miz and Morrison double teaming him.
These two have a history. Check out how we got here:

BREAKING: Injury On Monday Night Raw, Match Stopped

Please don’t be bad. Injuries are the kind of thing that can take place for any wrestler at any given time. One of the worse parts of the whole thing is wondering how long someone is going to be out of action as a result, because you never can tell just how bad something is. Unfortunately that seemed to be the case again during a match on this week’s Monday Night Raw.
Humberto Carrillo was injured during a match against Sheamus during this week’s Monday Night Raw. Late in the match, Carrillo attempted a sunset bomb to Sheamus, who was on the apron at the time. Carrillo landed on the floor but Sheamus landed on his leg instead of between the legs. As a result, the referee stopped the match and awarded the win to Sheamus when it was decided that Carrillo could not continue. There is no word on what happened to Carrillo or how severe his injury might be.
It might be a bit before you see him again. Check out Carrillo at full health:

Monday Night Raw Live Coverage And Results – May 10, 2021

Monday Night Raw
Date: May 10, 2021
Location: Yuengling Center, Tampa, Florida
Commentators: Adnan Virk, Corey Graves, Byron Saxton
It’s the go home show for Wrestlemania Backlash and that means it is time to push the rest of the card forward in a big way. There are currently two Raw matches set for the pay per view and that means we are going to need some more stuff announced tonight. You can probably guess those matches from here and now we get to see how dull they can make the show that announces them. Let’s get to it.
The opening recap looks at Bobby Lashley beating Braun Strowman and then getting Claymored by Drew McIntyre. As a result: Lashley vs. McIntyre this week.
Opening sequence.
Charlotte/Nia Jax/Shayna Baszler vs. Mandy Rose/Dana Brooke/Asuka Jax powers Mandy into the corner to start so Baszler can choke with the boot. Baszler grabs a standing armbar and takes Rose down without much effort. Asuka comes in and dropkicks Baszler down, with Mandy and Dana dropkicking Shay..

Here’s What To Expect From The Next NXT Takeover

Run it again. NXT’s Takeover series has one of the best reputations in all of wrestling and that is because they have earned it. The shows have been going on for over seven years now and have been almost universally praised for everything that they have done. That is the kind of thing you do not get to see very often, but now we know where it is going to take place next.
According to Fightful Select, NXT’s next TakeOver special will be another In Your House themed show and will take place on June 13. The show has yet to be announced on NXT television. NXT presented an In Your House themed Takeover last June, with Io Shirai winning the NXT Women’s Title in the main event. In Your House was a series of pay per views presented by WWE from 1995-1999.
The first one worked. Check out how Takeover: In Your House went down:
