From WWE.com:
Surrounded by twisted steel with a chance to capture his first WWE Title, Ziggler used his “should have been me” mentality to nearly escape the cage twice within the first several minutes of the contest. Kingston also made a break for it before the two settled into an incredible back-and-forth matchup.
Dolph delivered on everything he promised, using the cage as a weapon every chance he got. With Kingston staggered, the relentless Showoff continued to brutalize the champion. Kofi answered by literally turning Dolph into the cage, much like Ziggler had done to him. Kofi’s title reign was in jeopardy when he had to survive several devastating leg locks and a Zig Zag, but h..

WWE Hall Of Famer Lands New Movie Role

Maybe it works for him. Wrestlers have a weird relationship when it comes to acting. Some of them take to it naturally, but a lot of the time it feels like you are watching a wrestler reading movie lines. Every now and then you see something that works out though and it can make for quite the success. We might be seeing that take place again with a certain wrestling legend.
According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE Hall of Famer Kurt Angle will be appearing in the upcoming romantic comedy “Ask Me To Dance”. The movie is being filmed in Rochester, New York and will star Brana Evigan, Joyce DeWitt and Mario Cantone. There is no word on what role Angle will be playing in the film. Angle has dabbled in acting during and after his wrestling career, with his biggest role being as a mixed martial artist in Warrior.
Angle has had some rather funny moments over the years. Check out some of his better times:

WWE Interested In Signing International Star

Bring him in. Wrestling is one of the truly international sports as several countries have not only their own wrestlers, but also their own version of wrestling. That can make for some interesting combinations, as you can see wrestlers from one country coming into another and get quite the result. That might be the case again as WWE is interested in an international star.
According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE is interested in signing Speedball Mike Bailey to the company. Bailey is a Canadian wrestler who has mainly wrestled in Canada and Europe for the last several years due to visa issues in America. Should WWE sign him, they would work on resolving those issues so that he could could wrestle in the United States.
Back in 2016, Bailey came into the United States and worked a show for Evolve Wrestling without having a work visa in the country. As a result, he was banned from entering the United States for five years, with the ban recently expiring. Bailey has also wrest..

VIDEO: Daniel Bryan And More Teased For Impact Wrestling Slammiversary

What could be. While it might not be as popular as it was before, there is no denying that WWE is still the biggest and most successful wrestling promotion in the world today. They have more exposure and more fans watching their product than anyone else, meaning that a wrestler working for them is going to get a lot of exposure. That status can continue even after they leave, and now a company is teasing some upcoming appearances.
Impact Wrestling has released a new ad teasing appearances from Daniel Bryan, the IIconics and the Forgotten Sons for Slammiversary on July 17. The video features a series of fast paced images, including the word YES (Bryan), the letters II (IIconics) and “Forgotten” (Forgotten Sons, Steve Cutler and Wesley Blake). All of these wrestlers have left WWE in recent weeks and would be available to appear at the show as their no compete clauses would have expired.
This is an updated version of a similar video that Impact Wrestling releases a few weeks ago, which ..

WWE Working On Major Appearance For Return Of Live Fans

Yeah that would work. There are certain wrestling stars who are going to get attention no matter what they do. These names are very rare and a lot of their ability to draw an audience is based on what they have done over the course of their career. That is the case with a certain name that WWE is attempting to bring in for one of their biggest shows in a long time.
According to F4WOnline.com, WWE is attempting to have John Cena appear at the July 16 SmackDown in Houston, Texas. There is currently no deal in place to have Cena make an appearance, though it is something WWE is hoping to get done. The show will mark the first time since March 2020 that WWE has been out of the state of Florida and the first event with a full capacity of fans.
Cena has mostly left WWE to focus on an acting career and has been filming Peacemaker, a spinoff of the Suicide Squad film. Despite his acting commitments, Cena has still made occasional appearances for WWE, including facing Bray Wyatt in a Firefly ..

Possible Next Challengers For New WWE Champions

Looks like they’re next. Titles are one of the easiest things to present in all of wrestling. In theory, almost everyone wants to be a champion because it means money, fame, prestige and more. That is the kind of thing that any fan is going to understand, making title matches a pretty easy concept. Now we might know who is coming after some new champions next.
Rey Mysterio and Dominik Mysterio won the SmackDown Tag Team Titles at WrestleMania Backlash, becoming the first father and son duo to win the championships. Rey was a guest on this week’s edition of the After The Bell podcast and mentioned that former champion Dolph Ziggler and Robert Roode should receive an immediate rematch for the titles. Otis and Dolph Ziggler were also mentioned as future challengers, as the teams split four matches earlier this year. Dominik defeated Roode on the SmackDown after WrestleMania Backlash, suggesting that their feud would be continuing.
There is history with both of them. Check out the champs..

RUMOR: WWE Changing Hell In A Cell Name

What’s in a name? There are a lot of pay per views on the WWE calendar and most of the time, you can figure out what the show is based on the name alone. It might not be the best sounding name in the world, but WWE does tend to make things rather straightforward at times. Now they are adjusting the name of a long running series again, this time in a bit of an odd way.
According to WWENetworknews.com, this year’s Hell In A Cell event will be renamed “The Ultimate Show: Ultimate Hell In A Cell”. This follows WWE’s trend of adding taglines or other names to various pay per views, such as “The Horror Show At Extreme Rules”, “WrestleMania Backlash” and “Survivor Series: Best Of The Best”. WWE has not yet confirmed the name change for the show, which will air on June 20.
The show has quite a history already. Check out how it has gone over the years:

205 Live Results – May 14, 2021

Date: May 14, 2021
Location: Capitol Wrestling Center, Winter Park, Florida
Commentators: Tom Phillips, Nigel McGuinness
Last week was quite the change of pace as we had some fresh blood around here and they actually got some big wins. It was nice to see that for a change, though odds are it does not last. There is a good chance those things are knocked right back down to normal this week, though you never can tell. Let’s get to it.
Opening sequence.
Ariya Daivari vs. Asher Hale Hale is better known as Anthony Henry. Daivari gets shoved out of the corner to start and Hale slaps on a headlock. Hale does it a second time to prove whatever point he’s going for but Daivari puts him on the middle rope instead. That means a diving headlock takeover so Daivari goes with a knee to the ribs this time instead. Back up and Hale hammers away, setting up a one footed dropkick for two. Daivari bails so Hale is right there with a running knee off the apron.
They head back inside with Dai..

REVIEW: Evolve 125: They’ve Come A Long Way

Welcome to KB’s Old School (and New School) Reviews. I’ve been reviewing wrestling shows for over ten years now and have reviewed over 5,000 shows. Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, I’ll be posting a new review here on Wrestlingrumors.net. It could be anything from modern WWE to old school to indies to anything in between. Note that I rate using letters instead of stars and I don’t rate matches under three minutes as really, how good or bad can something that short be?

This is another one of the shows that I was hoping to see last year but for one reason or another it never happened. That’s where a free month of Club WWN (plus the company putting the show up for free on YouTube) can be handy and that’s why I’m here today. This show seemed to be pretty well received so hopefully it holds up. Let’s get to it.
As usual, I have no idea what is coming or what is going on her..

Here Is What To Expect For The Hell In A Cell Main Event

It does make sense. WWE runs a lot of pay per view events and it can be difficult to find something to headline each of them. It can help to have matches from both Monday Night Raw and SmackDown on the same cards, but one of the easiest ways to make things work is with a special gimmick pay per view. That is what WWE is doing in June, and now we might have an idea of the main event.
According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the likely Monday Night Raw main event for the June 20 Hell In A Cell will see WWE Champion Bobby Lashley defending his title against Drew McIntyre inside the Cell. The match has yet to be announced on WWE television, though the two of them interacted this week on Monday Night Raw, with McIntyre costing Lashley a match against Kofi Kingston.
McIntyre and Lashley have been feuding for several months now, with Lashley attacking McIntyre at Elimination Chamber, allowing Miz to cash in his Money in the Bank contract. Lashley would then go on to win the champions..

More Details On Velveteen Dream, Backstage Issues Prior To Release

There is more to it than that. Every now and then you hear about someone in wrestling who has quite a bit of baggage with them. This could be anything from legal issues to personal issues to just not being liked backstage for one reason or another. One such wrestler was leg go from WWE earlier this week and now we know a bit more about what happened.
Velveteen Dream was released from his NXT contract earlier this week, following a period of inactivity, as well as several sexual misconduct allegations. Since he was released, some stories have come out about his time in the company. According to Wrestling Observer Live, Dream had behavioral issues during his time in NXT, but due to Dream having friends higher up in NXT management, several wrestlers were worried about reporting them. It is likely that Dream was released for these issues, as Triple H said that investigations into the allegations turned up nothing. Dream had not appeared in NXT since December 2020.
This does not exactly m..

Recently Departed NXT Star Explains Why He Is Gone From The Company

That’s a good reason…I think. One of the bigger stories this year has been WWE releasing various names both from the main roster as well as NXT. This was the case last year as well and every time, more than one interesting name has come up. That is true with the most recent edition as well, and now we know a bit more about one of the bigger names being let go.
In an interview with Sport1 (translation courtesy of Wrestlinginc.com), recently released NXT star Alexander Wolfe revealed that he was not fired, but rather that WWE told him his contract was not being renewed. Wolfe was also told that the decision was made due to the Coronavirus causing restrictions on events and budget cuts being made as a result. In response (not to WWE), Wolfe said that WWE makes so much money that they should not have to fire anyone, but he accepted it. Wolfe’s current contract expires on June 15 and he will be a free agent after.
Wolfe did have a nice run in WWE. Check out his time with the company:
