BREAKING: WWE Officially Confirms First Time Ever Summerslam Location

They have a place. The wrestling world has changed a lot in the last year and a half but things are starting to come back to normal. That could mean some good news for the wrestling world as fans are being allowed to return to the live events starting in July. Now that we know that, it is time to find a place to put those fans and WWE now has one of its bigger events covered.
WWE has announced that this year’s Summerslam will take place in Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada. The show will take place on Saturday August 21, marking the first time that the event has been held either on a Saturday or in Nevada. This will be the second pay per view event to take place after the return of fans in attendance, following Monday In The Bank on July 18.
This could be awesome. Check out the announcement and some great moments in Summerslam history:

Top AEW Star Out Of Action “Indefinitely”

I’d say he’s earned it. Most promotions have their share of stars, but there are only a small number of wrestlers who feel like they are above the rest of the roster. Those wrestlers need to be treated like a different kind of star and a wrestling company should be a little more careful with them. That seems to be the case with a current top star, who is getting a bit of a break.
During this week’s edition of AEW Dynamite, commentary announced that Jon Moxley will be out of action indefinitely following an attack at Double Or Nothing over the weekend. Moxley had competed in a match for the Tag Team Titles and was hit with four straight BTE Triggers to end the match. There is no word on when Moxley will be back in the ring or on television. The announcement of Moxley taking time off also comes as his wife, former WWE backstage interviewer and host Renee Paquette is due to give birth later this year. The pregnancy was announced in November, meaning that the baby will likely arrive somet..

WWE Changing Hiring Practices Due To AEW

That’s a new way to go. Over the last two years plus, WWE has been dealing with its first high level competition in a very long time. AEW has gone from not existing to a huge promotion in a pretty short span of time and that has made for quite the change. WWE has made some adjustments as a result and now they are changing things back to their previous style.
According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE has changed one of its hiring practices regarding releasing wrestlers. Over most of the course of AEW’s existence, WWE has not been willing to release wrestlers for fear of the wrestlers going to AEW. The company has since changed their minds, as demonstrated by their string of releases earlier this week.
This change comes as WWE no longer sees AEW’s ratings performance in the 18-49 demographic as much of a problem. WWE has also accepted that they cannot and will not be putting AEW out of business so they are no longer seeing AEW as such a priority. Therefore, WWE is now much mo..

MVP’s Photo Fuels Speculation Over Hurt Business’ Future

I’d call it an upgrade. Stables are a concept that has been around wrestling for decades now, as they serve more than a few purposes at the same time. WWE has started to use them a bit more as of late and that has helped their television product a fairly good bit. Some of them are stronger than others, and now another one is teasing a heck of an upgrade.
MVP has posted a new photo of himself and the Street Profits to his Instagram account. This has led to some speculation that the Street Profits may be looking into joining the Hurt Business in the near future. The Hurt Business currently consists of only MVP and Bobby Lashley, but once also included Shelton Benjamin and Cedric Alexander. The WWE on FOX Twitter accounted posted the photo as well, with three interested eyes emojis. There have been no reports to suggest that the team could be joining the Hurt Business and this is merely speculation at the time.

Update On WWE/New Japan Negotiations, NXT Now Involved

We’ll switch that to a no. Last month, an interesting story began to emerge about the possibility of WWE entering into a working relationship with New Japan Pro Wrestling. This is the kind of thing that could be quite the change for both companies, but it seemed to be hinging more on Daniel Bryan in particular. Now it seems that things have changed, and it could be in a big way.
According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE’s discussions with New Japan have moved on from focusing on Bryan, as company President Nick Khan has become the point man on the discussions. The plans now center around NXT in some form, meaning that top level WWE and New Japan stars are not likely to be coming to the other promotion. WWE has attempted to negotiate with New Japan before but the talks have gotten nowhere. The major difference this time is Khan, though there is nothing to suggest any kind of a guarantee of a deal.
WWE has worked in Japan before. Check out some of their time there:

REVIEW: Great Balls Of Fire: Mediocre Gracious

Welcome to KB’s Old School (and New School) Reviews. I’ve been reviewing wrestling shows for over ten years now and have reviewed over 5,000 shows. Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, I’ll be posting a new review here on Wrestlingrumors.net. It could be anything from modern WWE to old school to indies to anything in between. Note that I rate using letters instead of stars and I don’t rate matches under three minutes as really, how good or bad can something that short be?

Date: July 9, 2017

It’s time for the most oddly named pay per view in a long time and yes they’re actually going to call it this. Brock Lesnar is getting back in the ring for the first time since Wrestlemania to defend the Universal Title against Samoa Joe. This has the potential to be a war and that’s what the title needs. Let’s get to it.

WWE Is Going Back On The Road Even More Than Previously Announced

On the road again. The Coronavirus pandemic has changed the way the wrestling industry works, though things are finally starting to get back to normal. Possibly the biggest change that has taken place in recent weeks has been the announcement of WWE returning to touring with fans in July. It turns out that it will not just be the two main roster shows going back on the road.
According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the NXT roster has been told that they will be going back on the road in July. This will be a return to their Florida house show circuit known as the Coconut Loop, featuring shows with 200-400 fans in attendance. It is expected that Coronavirus vaccinations will be required as it is unlikely that a mask policy could be enforced in these markets. WWE has yet to announce any NXT live events.
NXT live events can be a blast. Check out what we might be seeing again:

VIDEO: Trailer Released For New Chyna Documentary

It’s an interesting topic. WWE has been around for a very long time now and there are certain periods of time in the company’s history that stand out more than others. One of the most infamous of them all is the Attitude Era, which is still regularly talked about over twenty years later. There were some fascinating people appearing during that time, and now one of them is getting a bigger spotlight.
Vice TV, by way of 411mania.com, has announced that they will air a documentary on WWE star Chyna on June 17. The documentary will cover Chyna’s career and life, including comments from her family and people from the wrestling industry, such as Mick Foley and Sean Waltman. In addition to her career, the two hour film will also look into her mental health and substance abuse issues. The documentary will not be part of the Dark Side of the Ring series but rather a stand alone film.
This could be rather interesting. Check out the trailer and a bit of Chyna’s time in WWE:

Some WWE Stars Unhappy With Company’s New Mandate

Can you blame them? WWE is starting to come out of the Coronavirus pandemic as live events with fans will be back on the road next month. That is going to be a huge return to normal for the company but it is also going to come after more than a year of being in Florida. WWE is trying to do something to make it easier, but the plan is being met with a bit of resistance.
Earlier this week, reports came out of WWE holding mandatory training sessions at the Performance Center in Orlando, Florida. The idea behind the sessions was to get the wrestlers ready to return to the road in July, as some wrestlers have not been used as frequently on television. These sessions would take place on days when wrestlers were not appearing on television, and now it is not going as well as WWE planned.
According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, there are some WWE wrestlers who are unhappy with the training sessions as they feel they can train elsewhere. The sessions are not seen as a problem for thos..

AEW Dynamite Results – June 4, 2021

Dynamite
Date: June 4, 2021
Location: Daily’s Place, Jacksonville, Florida
Commentators: Jim Ross, Excalibur, Tony Schiavone
We’re done with Double Or Nothing and things are on a bit of a roll around here. I’m curious to see how they follow up on a pretty awesome pay per view which saw the Inner Circle survive by winning Stadium Stampede over the Pinnacle. There are a few directions they can take before All Out in September so let’s get to it.
Penta El Zero Miedo/Pac vs. Young Bucks Non-title and apparently the Bucks attacked Rey Fenix before the match, including a bunch of V Triggers. Michael Nakazawa, Brandon Cutler and the Good Brothers are here but cue Frankie Kazarian to jump Nakazawa, causing the Brothers to chase him off. Don Callis joins commentary as Pac and Penta (looking Jokerish tonight) hit big dives to the floor. A pair of backdrops keep the Bucks in trouble and they head inside for the opening bell.
Penta comes in to roll Matt up for two with Nick making the save and ..

SmackDown Results – June 4, 2021

Smackdown
Date: June 4, 2021
Location: Yuengling Center, Tampa, Florida
Commentators: Michael Cole, Pat McAfee
It’s time for a double title show as the Intercontinental and Tag Team Titles are on the line. First up Apollo Crews is defending against Kevin Owens with Commander Azeez else barred from ringside. Next up, likely in the main event, the Usos get their shot against Dominik and Rey Mysterio in what could be a pretty awesome match. Let’s get to it.
Here are Roman Reigns and Paul Heyman to get things going. Reigns talks about being direct in how he is feeling, because he wasn’t happy last week. He has had the counsel of a wise man and a week to chew on it though and now he has changed his mind on the Usos getting a Tag Team Title shot tonight.
Reigns may be the centerpiece but he is also a giver. Let’s get the Usos out here right now (Heyman: “USOS’ MUSIC RIGHT NOW!”) because we need to talk about this. Jey is cool with Reigns and Jimmy says it’s time to become the seven time c..

VIDEO: Former WWE Star Makes Surprise AEW Debut

Yeah that works. There are all kinds of major wrestling stars in the industry today and several of them come from different parts of the world. That means you can get a lot of interesting combinations when some of them come together for a mixture of those styles. It seems that we are going to be seeing a different kind of style coming to one of the biggest promotions in the world.
Andrade El Idolo, formerly known as Andrade in WWE, made his AEW debut during this week’s edition of Dynamite. Mark Henry was in the ring for an interview when Vickie Guerrero interrupted. Guerrero said that she had a big surprise and introduced El Idolo to the crowd. El Idolo said that he has been known as the face of Latinos but now he is here to be the face of All Elite Wrestling.
El Idolo has wrestled all over the world, including extensively in Japan and Mexico. He also spent several years in WWE, wrestling under the names Andrade and Andrade Cien Almas. During his time with the company, he won both th..
