205 Live
Date: November 5, 2021
Location: Capitol Wrestling Center, Orlando, Florida
Commentators: Nigel McGuinness, Vic Joseph
This has rapidly become a show that actually offers something and I’m still not sure how to feel about that. It’s very nice to have 205 Live actually matter for a change, as there is only so much you can do with two hours of NXT. Let the wrestlers get in the ring somehow and see what they can do with some extra time. Let’s get to it.
Roderick Strong vs. Ru Feng Non-title and the rest of Diamond Mine is here too. Feng shoves him into the corner to start and cranks on the wrist with Strong not being able to do much to escape. Some chops up against the ropes have Feng in trouble though and Strong stomps away near the ropes. Feng fights out of an abdominal stretch and grabs a powerslam for two. That’s enough for Strong, who hits the jumping knee for the pin at 4:55.
Result: Roderick Strong b. Ru Feng – Jumping knee (4:55)

One More Round: Former WWE Star Coming Out Of Retirement

One more time. Wrestling is a unique sport in that wrestlers are able to come back to the ring at almost any time. Rather than having to come back for a full season that can last months on end, a wrestler can come back at any time for a one off match. It can make things even better if someone is a former star on national TV, which will be the case again later this month.
Independent Superstars of Professional Wrestling has announced that former WWE star Maven will be coming out of his retirement on November 19 in Totowa, New Jersey. Maven will take part in the Championship Rumble to crown the promotion’s new World Champion. This will be Maven’s first match since April 2016. Maven was the first male winner of Tough Enough and wrestled for WWE from 2001-2005, becoming a three time Hardcore Champion.
Maven did have a nice career. Check out what he did during his time in WWE:

AEW Hints At Huge International Star Possibly Making Appearance

Make sure to oil the hinges. The wrestling world has expanded so much in the last few years, as promotions from all over the world can be seen by almost anyone at any time. That is the kind of thing that fans have been waiting on for years, but now we might be seeing something else. One of the most decorated stars in the industry could be on his way to one of the biggest promotions on the other side of the world.
During this week’s edition of AEW Dynamite, commentary revealed that the Best Friends have officially joined the Chaos stable in New Japan Pro Wrestling. Commentary also regularly mentioned Kazuchika Okada, the leader of the stable. While not confirmed, this could suggest that Okada could appear in AEW at some point in the future. New Japan wrestlers have appeared in AEW semi-regularly since AEW debuted in 2019. This is speculation at this point and AEW has said nothing about Okada possibly appearing.
Okada is a different kind of star. Check out what he can do in the ring:

Brock Lesnar Is Coming Back To WWE TV This Year

Welcome back. There are a lot of wrestlers in the world today but only a handful make any kind of real impact. You see some wrestlers who just grab your attention no matter what and it can be fascinating almost every time. That is certainly the case with Brock Lesnar, though it is not clear when he will be getting back in the ring. We do however know when he will be back on WWE television.
The Staples Center Twitter account has announced that Brock Lesnar has vowed to buy a ringside seat for the upcoming SmackDown in Los Angeles on December 10. This will be Lesnar’s first appearance since October 23, when Lesnar attacked Adam Pearce and was suspended as a result. There is no word on when Lesnar will be back in the ring, though the Royal Rumble has been rumored.

Here’s Who Makes The Top Most Money In WWE (And How Much)

That’s a nice paycheck. There are a lot of things to criticize about WWE and several of those complaints are rather valid. The company has a lot of issues involving its creative direction and the way it treats its wrestlers, but there is one thing that WWE can do rather well: make a lot of money. WWE is a revenue machine, but where does that money go? We now know the answer in a few cases.
During the latest edition of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer mentioned that WWE pays its roster about 8% of its revenue, while most sports leagues pay 50%. If WWE followed the normal model, the main roster wrestlers would be making around $5 million each. However, that is only the case with Brock Lesnar and Roman Reigns, while there are “a couple” of people who make around $3 million, though they were not named.
There is some highly paid talent in WWE. Check out the biggest ones, together and apart:

An AEW Full Gear Match Originally Looked Pretty Different

What could have been. We are less than three days away from AEW’s Full Gear pay per view and the show’s card is mostly set. The company has a history of putting on some excellent pay per view events and that should be the case again here. AEW added some more matches to the show this week, but in one case, the match we are seeing was not in the original plans.
During this week’s edition of AEW Dynamite, a tag team match featuring Cody Rhodes and Pac vs. Malakai Black and Andrade El Idolo was announced for Full Gear. According to Wrestling Observer Radio, the original plans for the match called for it to be a four way with the same wrestlers participating. There is no word on why the plans were changed or if we will be seeing the match at a later date.
This should be fun. Check out the participants in action:

WATCH: Randy Orton Helps A Fan In Distress At WWE Live Event

He was being a hero. Wrestlers are the kind of people you do not get to see in person very often so it is a special treat to be at a show live. Other countries outside of the United States has an even harder time getting to see wrestlers in person. It can be special if you see something out of the ordinary, which was the case this week and involved a fan being kept safe.
Following a match in Birmingham, England, Orton was greeting fans at ringside. As Orton was walking around, he noticed a young fan being crushed against the barricade. Orton asked the adult fans to back up and made sure that the fan was ok. He also spoke to the fan a bit before continuing to shake hands with other fans. Orton had teamed with Riddle to retain the Raw Tag Team Titles against Robert Roode/Dolph Ziggler and the Street Profits.
It was a cool moment. Check out what Orton did, plus what he can do in the ring:

Wrestling Star Tells Rather Unusual Story About Losing Her Dog

Short and scary. Wrestlers are on television every single week and they get to showcase their talents in front of the world. That is something that most people will never get the chance to do, but at the end of the day, the wrestlers are often much more like regular people than others. It was the case again for two wrestlers, who had quite the scary situation this week.
Impact Wrestling’s Jordynne Grace revealed that Pet Smart accidentally gave their dog away when the dog was in the store for grooming. Soon thereafter, Grace gave an update, saying that the woman who took her dog had been found and ultimately returned the dog. On top of that, Grace mentioned that she was unhappy with how Pet Smart made her dog look after its treatment.
I am in complete shock right now. @PetSmart groomers GAVE OUR FUCKING DOG TO SOMEONE ELSE

Update: they found/called the lady who took her and she’s on the way back.

Another WWE Star Injured, Status Uncertain

Hopefully it isn’t bad. Injuries are Kryptonite to a wrestler as anyone can be taken down by one out of nowhere. You never know when you are going to see someone get hurt and the focus then shifts to just how long someone is going to be on the shelf. That is never good to see, and unfortunately it is taking place again with a fairly prominent wrestler on the WWE roster.
WWE has announced that Kofi Kingston has suffered an MCL sprain in his knee. The injury took place during the Bloodline’s attack on the New Day during last week’s edition of SmackDown. There is no word on how long Kingston will be out of action and his status for this week’s SmackDown is not clear. It is also not clear if Kingston’s injury is legitimate or part of a storyline.

AEW Sets Two Brand New Matches For Full Gear

The card keeps growing. We are less than three days away from AEW’s next pay per view offering with Full Gear, and that should mean that the card is set. For the most part that is true, but like any other show, there is always time to add in something else to the mix. That is what AEW did this wee, as even more matches have been set up for the show on Saturday night.
AEW announced two more matches for Full Gear during this week’s edition of Dynamite. First, the Buy-In show will feature a tag match between Nyla Rose and Jamie Hayter vs. Thunder Rosa and Hikaru Shida. On the main card, Cody Rhodes will team with Pac vs. Malakai Black and Andrade El Idolo. There is no word on if AEW plans to add anything else to the show.
There are some talented people joining the show. Check out some of them in action:

Good News On Injured Monday Night Raw Star

That could have been worse. There are certain things in wrestling that are universal for anyone who gets in the ring, with one of the worst being the potential to get hurt. No matter how talented or skilled a wrestler might be, there is always the chance that they could get hurt in the blink of an eye. That can be a scary time, but now we are getting some good news about someone for a change.
Earlier this week, WWE announced that Finn Balor was injured and unable to appear in a scheduled match at a WWE live event in the United Kingdom. However, according to Fightful.com, Balor was back in the ring on Wednesday in Manchester, England. Balor opened the show in a tag team match, teaming with Cesaro to defeat Walter and Sheamus. There is nothing to suggest that Balor will miss any more time.
It’s good to have him back. Check out what Balor can do when he is healthy:

WRESTLING RUMORS: Personal Feud Coming Soon In WWE

A family situation. There are all kinds of ways to present a wrestling feud. You can go with a variety of stories and feuds, some of which have a better track record than others. One of the most tried and true ways to go is a personal feud though, which is something that almost anyone can understand in a hurry. It seems that we are on the way towards the same thing again.
According to Andrew Zarian of the Mat Men Wrestling podcast, Rey Mysterio and Dominik Mysterio are set to split up soon, leading to a feud between the two of them. This comes after Dominik has been taking issue with Rey being at ringside for his matches, as well as Rey making some comments about Dominik on television. There is no word on how the split will go down.
Spoke with a source at WWE.
