Former WWE Star Alleges Racism In The Company, Still Wants To Return

One more time? WWE has been around for such a long time that it can be easy to forget some of the wrestlers who have been around over the years. There are probably a few names that you have forgotten over the years, which makes for some interesting moments when you hear from them again. Now one former WWE star seems to want another chance in the company.
The original Sin Cara, also known as Mistico, spoke with TUDN Mexico, by way of Wrestlinginc.com, and talked about wanting to return to WWE. Cara said that WWE saw something in him and wanted to sign him, but he had to leave for a variety of reasons, including racism. When he arrived in the company, Cara was told to tone down his style and was not given the opportunities that he was promised. Cara blames this on racism, as he says WWE would not want their American talents overshadowed.
Cara was round WWE for a good while. Check out some of his time there:

More On Johnny Gargano/Kyle O’Reilly Leaving WWE, What The Company Thinks

It might be a bit. There have been all kinds of WWE departures over the course of the last year or two and some of them have been a bit more surprising than others. Some wrestlers have been released while others have walked away on their own. Two more of the latter took place this week, and it might be a little while before you see either of them show up anywhere again.
Earlier this week, both Kyle O’Reilly and Johnny Gargano left WWE after their contracts expired. According to Wrestling Observer Radio, the current theory in WWE is that the two of them are taking time off from wrestling at the moment, though they both could appear on any show they want at any time. This includes AEW Winter Is Coming later in the week, if the two sides can come to terms. Gargano has reportedly been offered a new WWE deal that is better than his most recent contract. It is not clear what kind of deal O’Reilly has been offered.
There is a lot of talent between them. Check out the two in action:

WATCH: Braun Strowman And FTR Make Surprise Debuts At Ring Of Honor Final Battle

Those are some big names. Ring of Honor is wrapping things up, at least in their best known version. That is going to be a sad moment for the wrestling world as there are all kinds of stars from throughout the company’s history around the wrestling world today. There is still one show left though, and it had more than a few surprise appearances taking place.
There were multiple surprise appearances at Ring of Honor’s Final Battle event over the weekend. First, EC3 debuted a new stable, featuring Titan (formerly known as Braun Strowman) and Westin Blake (formerly known as Wesley Blake in WWE). Later in the show, the Briscos won the Ring of Honor Tag Team Titles. Following the match, FTR ran in and attacked the Briscos, teasing a future match between the teams. The two teams have been feuding on Twitter in recent weeks.
It was a heck of a night. Check out the appearances, plus the full pre-show:

VIDEO: Chris Jericho Out Of The Hospital, Gives Interesting Update

He’s out. Wrestlers are rather different than the majority of the fans who watch them, but there are quite a few similarities as well. Just like the fans, wrestlers have their own share of medical issues, some of which can be rather serious. Something can flare up out of nowhere, which was the case last week. Now though, we have a positive update on what has happened.
Earlier this week, AEW’s Chris Jericho was hospitalized due to a non-Coronavirus related issue. However, Jericho has since updated his status via Twitter, revealing that he has been released from the hospital. In a YouTube video, Jericho has announced that his band Fozzy will continue its tour, albeit without him singing. Instead, their upcoming concert will feature the fans singing their two most famous songs as well as the debut of their latest album, Boombox, being played live. There is no word on when Jericho will be able to sing or wrestle again.

Huge Match With Guest Stars After Last Night’s WWE SmackDown

Send them home happy. WWE produces quite a bit of television content on a regular basis. Counting their streaming shows, there are five shows a week, which can make for quite the amount of wrestling. That isn’t even all they do though, as there are several matches that are just for the live fans. Another one took place this week after SmackDown, but this one was especially big.
According to 411mania.com, the dark match after this week’s WWE SmackDown saw Sasha Banks defeat Charlotte, Becky Lynch and Bianca Belair in a four way non-title match by pinning Lynch. Belair and Lynch are both on the Monday Night Raw roster and were making special appearances. Charlotte and Banks both appeared on SmackDown earlier in the night, with only Charlotte wrestling.
It sounds like a big one. Check out the four in action:

One More Round: Former WWE Star Announces Retirement Tour

Hanging up the boots. Wrestlers have a weird situation when it comes to retirement. They can walk away at any time, but ultimately there is always the chance that they might come back into the ring. It isn’t like the mainstream sports where someone has to come back for a full season, meaning retirement can be hit or miss. Now another wrestler is getting ready for their final run.
Nick Dinsmore, formerly known as Eugene, has announced that he will be taking part in his retirement tour over the course of 2022. Dinsmore is making himself available for matches, seminars and stand up comedy. No specific dates or matches have been announced as of yet. Dinsmore has been wrestling since 1996 and has worked as both a wrestler and a trainer in the WWE system.
Eugene has begun his retirement tour! Last Call! One last time! There are select dates available so book Eugene ASAP for pro wrestling matches, seminars/match psychology, and also stand-up Comedy.

REVIEW: OVW Christmas Chaos 2001: Tomorrow’s Superstars Back Then

Welcome to KB’s Old School (and New School) Reviews. I’ve been reviewing wrestling shows for over twelve years now and have reviewed over 6,000 shows. Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, I’ll be posting a new review here on Wrestlingrumors.net. It could be anything from modern WWE to old school to indies to anything in between. Note that I rate using letters instead of stars and I don’t rate matches under three minutes as really, how good or bad can something that short be?
OVW Christmas Chaos 2001
Date: January 31, 2001

Ah OVW, how much I love thee. This is from sometime around Christmas of 2001 which I’ll try to find an exact date for (future edit: got it). OVW was the official developmental organization for WWE for a very long time, just like FCW is now. They didn’t have PPVs but they had big shows where WWF guys would come down and this is one of them. The production value is very low here and the fact t..

WWE Making Major Changes To Superstar Contracts, No More Financial Bonuses

There goes the brass ring. It is safe to say that things have been shaken up in WWE over the last year and a half and that might be continuing for a long time to come. The company looks almost nothing like it did just this time last year and it is almost scary to think about how things will look next. Now though, it seems that WWE has taken away something else from the wrestlers.
According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE has mostly done away with all financial bonuses that the wrestlers are able to make. Instead, the wrestlers are mostly limited to the amount on their contract, with pay per view, live event and merchandise bonuses being left out. There are some top stars who are still able to make more, but the lower level wrestlers have no bonuses available.
The top stars should be fine. Check out what they do in WWE:

AEW Star Might Be Appearing On A Singing Competition Show

It’s a different kind of show. Wrestlers have a weird reputation when it comes to celebrity status, as you do not get to see them doing much outside of the ring. They are well known for that kind of appearance, but it is rare to see what else they can do. Now though, we might be getting to see a wrestler try something else, though seeing them is not the point this time.
AEW star Marko Stunt has announced that he has tried out for the singing competition show The Voice and has even received a call back to return for the next round. The idea of the show is that the judges will decide who should continue on the show based on the person’s voice rather than their look. Stunt sang I’m Yours by Jason Mraz for his audition song and is waiting on the next round of the competition.
I signed up for an open call for The Voice, for tomorrow. Wtf am I doing lol

About an hour left before the open audition. I’m ready, but man I get nervous…

Major Update On Alberto El Patron’s Sexual Assault Charges

That takes care of things. Wrestling fans watch their favorite, and sometimes not so favorite, stars on TV on a regular basis. It can be easy to forget that we are watching real people get in the ring every so often. These people have real life situations going on outside of the ring and no one of the most serious issues has been wrapped up in a bit of a surprise.
According to PWInsider.com, former WWE Champion Alberto El Patron’s sexual assault charges were dismissed on Friday and the case is officially closed. A witness was said to be missing, meaning that El Patron is cleared of all liability in the situation. The trial was scheduled to have begun on Monday. El Patron has been regularly wrestling for a variety of promotions in Mexico over the last few months.
This is a bit of a touchy situation so we’ll try something else. Here is a different Albert in action:

Who’s Left? Update On Goldberg’s WWE Contract

Who’s left? There are certain wrestlers who don’t need much of an introduction. Something about them gets your attention immediately and that makes them incredibly valuable in a few ways. A promotion can put them on any show and get something out of them, which is the case with one certain living legend. We just might not be seeing that much of them in the future.
According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Goldberg has one match left on his current WWE deal and it is not clear if WWE will be re-signing him when his contract ends. Goldberg is highly paid for a light schedule and he has a no-cut clause in his deal. Goldberg’s most recent match took place in October at Crown Jewel, when he defeated Bobby Lashley.
He is absolutely a force. Check out some of Goldberg’s higher profile matches:

Another Former WWE Star Now A Free Agent, Turned Down Chance To Re-Sign

That’s it for her. There have been a lot of changes to WWE in the last year and a half, with more names leaving than most people can hope to remember. That is not a good thing to see, as it leaves a lot of wrestlers without a place to go. Some of them are a bit luckier than others though, and now one of them has officially wrapped up her time as part of WWE.
Earlier this week, former NXT star Kairi Sane officially removed WWE references from her social media accounts. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Sane’s WWE deal has officially expired and she is allowed to work anywhere. WWE had wanted Sane to return to the company to wrestle, but Sane had no interest in living in the United States again. Sane recently opened a gym and wants to return to wrestling, though it is not clear where she will go.
Sane was a heck of a star in WWE. Check out some of her time in the company:
