WATCH: The Rock Producing New Wrestling Documentary Series (TRAILER)

That’s a new twist. Wrestling media has been changing a lot in recent years as more and more stories have been presented in one way or another. This has come in the form of books, films and television series, many of which are telling stories that have not been heard in a long time. Now we are in for another one which certainly sounds like it has some promise.
According to Variety, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Dany Garcia’s Seven Bucks Productions will be producing a new wrestling documentary series called Tales From The Territories. The series will be from the same team that made Dark Side Of The Ring and will focus on stories from the territory days of wrestling. There is no word on what any episodes will cover. The series will debut on October 4 at 10PM EST on VICE TV.
This has potential. Check out the trailer for the series:

Opinion: This is something that has some serious potential as Dark Side Of The Ring was a great series. I’m cur..

AEW Star Reveals He Is Out Of Action With Multiple Shoulder Injuries

Another one on the list. There are all kinds of wrestling matches but some of them can be very dangerous. While there is always the chance that someone is going to get hurt in a regular match, there are ways to up the danger by adding some kind of stipulation. Unfortunately it seems that another star was injured in one of the more violent matches of the year.
In a new YouTube video from JOFO In The Ring, AEW’s Matt Menard revealed that he suffered a shoulder injury during the Blood & Guts match on the June 29 Dynamite. Menard said that he has torn parts of his shoulder, labrum and rotator cuff, but he will be able to rehab the injuries and avoid surgery. The injury took place during a spot with Santana during the match. There is no word on how long Menard will be out of action, though he has been appearing on AEW TV in non-wrestling segments.
Opinion: You never want to hear something like that and it is a shame that Menard will have to be out of action. He and Angelo Parker have show..

NXT Star Suffers Knee Injury, Out Of Action 4-6 Weeks

It can happen to anyone. There are all kinds of injuries that can happen in any given wrestling match and that is never a good thing to see. The worst part of an injury can be waiting to find out just how bad things are because it could mean a very long time on the shelf. That seems to be the case again, but this time we have an idea for how long someone is going to be out.
Last week’s NXT featured a Falls Count Anywhere match with Solo Sikoa defeating Von Wagner. This week’s NXT included a segment with Sikoa in the trainer’s room, where he was told he had a sprained PCL. As a result, Sikoa will be out of action for anywhere from four to six weeks. There is no word on if the injury is legitimate or part of a storyline for Sikoa.
Opinion: That is never good to hear but what matters is that the injury could be a lot worse. A sprained PCL is a serious enough injury but he could be out a lot longer if things were that much more serious. Sikoa is someone who is being used well in NXT and ..

We’re a week away from Heatwave and that means we need to get in the final push towards the show. In this case that means a few grudge matches, plus One Final Accord between Santos Escobar and Tony D’Angelo. Other than that, we have a bit of a twist with a rounds match between Wes Lee and Trick Williams. Let’s get to it.
We open with a recap of Kayden Carter/Katana Chance winning the Women’s Tag Team Titles last week.
We get some rapid fire interviews from people wrestling tonight, including Trick Williams, Wes Lee, Cora Jade, Zoey Stark and Tony D’Angelo.
Nikkita Lyons vs. Kiana James Before the bell, we get a quick promo from Lyons and Zoey Stark, who are ready to win the WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles. James fights out of an early suplex attempt and cranks on the arm. That’s switched to the knee, which is crushed in the corner before James takes her to the floor for ..

Vince McMahon Made Two Additional Payments Totaling $5 Million

The saga continues. According to multiple reports, WWE has filed a new notice with the United States Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), claiming that they learned of two additional payments totaling $5 million that was paid by Vince McMahon.
The filing claims that the payments are unrelated to the $14.6 million in “certain unrecorded expenses” that date back to 2006. This scandal played a huge part in McMahon stepping down as CEO of WWE and retiring.
The filing reads as follows:
“On June 17, 2022, World Wrestling Entertainment, Inc. (the “Company”) and its Board of Directors announced that a special committee of independent members of the Board of Directors (the “Special Committee”) was conducting an investigation into alleged misconduct by the Company’s former Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Vincent K. McMahon, who resigned from all positions held with the Company on July 22, 2022 but remains a stockholder with a controlling interest, and another executive, who is also..

Update On Possible Changes To The WWE Clash At The Castle Main Event

They might not be hitting the brakes. We are less than a month away from WWE Clash At The Castle, which will be one of the biggest shows that the company has run in a pretty long time. It will be the first stadium show in the United Kingdom in over thirty years and the show is going to need a big card. The main event has been set, and now we know an important detail about it.
Clash At The Castle is scheduled to feature a main event of Drew McIntyre challenging Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Title. The two had a faceoff last week on SmackDown, which was interrupted by the returning Karrion Kross. This led to speculation about Kross being added to the match, but according to Wrestling Observer Radio, Kross will not be added to the match. WWE officials feel that McIntyre vs. Reigns is the match that needs to headline the show.
Opinion: I’m glad to hear about this as there is something a little annoying about having so many matches be a triple threat or multi person match…

REVIEW: WWF Invasion 1992: Just Go Back Home

Welcome to KB’s Old School (and New School) Reviews. I’ve been reviewing wrestling shows for over twelve years now and have reviewed over 6,000 shows. Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, I’ll be posting a new review here on Wrestlingrumors.net. It could be anything from modern WWE to old school to indies to anything in between. Note that I rate using letters instead of stars and I don’t rate matches under three minutes as really, how good or bad can something that short be?

Now this is more my speed. I’ve been doing a lot more indy level stuff lately so let’s take a major step away and go with something I grew up on with a Coliseum Video. This sounds like a bunch of international matches and I’m not sure what to expect from that. These tapes can be from one extreme to the other so it could a lot of ways. Let’s get to it.

WWE Star Seems To Be Written Off Television This Week On Monday Night Raw

He might be gone for a bit. With so many wrestlers on the WWE roster, there is only so much television time to go around. It can be difficult to keep track of everyone and it is even worse now with more wrestlers either coming up from NXT. At some point someone is going to have to loser their spot and that very well may have been the case this week on television.
This week on Monday Night Raw, Kevin Owens returned to action and fought Ezekiel. During the match, Owens knocked Ezekiel outside and hit him with an apron powerbomb. The match was stopped after about a minute with Ezekiel being taken out on a stretcher. This would suggest that Ezekiel will be missing television time. It is not clear when he will be back or what character he will be using when he returns.
Opinion: This might be the best move for everyone as Ezekiel has kind of run his course in WWE. There is only so much that can be done with someone playing their own younger brother and that seemed to be obvious. Ezekiel hi..

Good For Them! Two AEW Stars Get Married Over The Weekend, WWE Star Present

There’s a team for you. Wrestlers have a rather hectic schedule meaning that wrestlers can only find so much free time. They are either wrestling, traveling or training and that can cause issues for wrestlers’ personal lives. This includes their romantic lives, but sometimes it can work out. Two AEW wrestlers recently managed to make it work very well, and in a permanent way.
AEW’s Tay Conti and Sammy Guevara have announced that they were married this weekend after dating since January and getting engaged in June. As shown on Twitter, WWE’s Nikki Ash was one of Conti’s bridesmaids with other wrestling personalities in attendance. Conti and Guevara have been paired together on AEW television. There is no word on if or when they will miss any time due to a honeymoon.

Surprise Return Takes Place At The End Of WWE Monday Night Raw

Welcome back. There are a lot of wrestlers today and not all of them are in WWE or AEW. It can be interesting to see where those wrestlers wind up, as some of them will either debut or return to one of the bigger promotions. That can make for some very interesting moments, especially if the return is a surprise. That was the case this week as a familiar face came back to WWE.
There was a story taking place in the background this week on Monday Night Raw involving a car. During the show, wrestlers were seen looking at a wrecked car in the parking lot. Later, the car was put on a tow truck, with police offers running from the scene of the crash into the arena. At the end of the show, the police arrested a man in the crowd, who was identified as former NXT star Dexter Lumis. This would be Lumis’ first appearance since April when he was released from his WWE contract.
Opinion: For the first time in a good while, I’m curious about where a story is going. Lumis was around NXT for a long ti..

This could be a very interesting show, as we are coming off last week’s pretty awesome episode, but now the question is how they follow it up. They certainly don’t need to have some big moment or debut/return, but keep up the energy and put on a good show and they should be fine. Let’s get to it.
We open with a recap of Bayley/Iyo Shirai/Dakota Kai coming together at Summerslam and running some roughshod last week.
We get the brackets for the Women’s Tag Team Title tournament:
Tamina/Dana Brooke
Iyo Sky/Dakota Kai
Alexa Bliss/Asuka
Nikki Ash/Doudrop
Raquel Rodriguez/Aliyah
Xia Li/Shotzi
Nikkita Lyons/Zoey Stark
Natalya/Sonya Deville
Here are Bayley, Iyo Sky and Dakota Kai for a chat. Bayley: “DING DONG!” Bayley can’t believe that she’s getting this kind of a reception when the fans need her. They are here to save this women’s division..

Backstage News On Karrion Kross’ Push In WWE

Tick tock. Perhaps the biggest story in professional wrestling this past week has been the return of Karrion Kross to WWE. He attacked Drew McIntyre in the closing moments of last week’s episode of SmackDown.
According to a report from PWInsider, WWE is planning to push Kross to be the No. 2 heel on the blue brand, behind Roman Reigns. In addition, Scarlett will continue to manage him and isn’t currently planning to be wrestling regularly, but that could be a possibility in the future.
The report also states that after the pair were released last year, there was still regular communication between them and the company. Kross is also expected to complete his independent wrestling appearances that were signed prior to his return to WWE as much as possible.
Editor’s Opinion:
Can you blame WWE for making this decision? The pair was easily one of the best things about NXT during the COVID-19 pandemic, and I still, to this day, don’t understand why Vince McMahon decided to release them f..
