WWE superstar John Cena is not coming to India
If you have booked your tickets for the WWE Live India event in Delhi and have done that just so you could witness WWE superstar John Cena battle it out with the others, you might be in for a shock!
The live event plans for the Capital have been thrown into disarray as the event scheduled for January 15-16 will not be seeing Cena, one of the most loved names in the business, perform. Cena has suffered a shoulder injury as a result of a torn rotator cuff.
Last seen in the ring on December 30 at a WWE Live event in Canada against WWE United States Champion Alberto Del Rio, a recent tweet by Cena on January 7 revealed that he will be getting a shoulder surgery done in Birmingham the following day. “Rather upside down start to 2016 as tomorrow I will head to Birmingham for shoulder surgery. Life’s full of set backs but #nevergiveup (sic)”
The WWE officials later came out with a statement confirming the absence of Cena and his replacement for the event, “For the WWE LIVE tour in New Delhi at the Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium on Friday, January 15 and Saturday, January 16, replacing John Cena is WWE World Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns.”
Not only has this announcement affected the event scheduled for India, but has also spelt trouble for the superstar’s appearance at Wrestlemania 32. The 15-time world heavyweight champion is set to go head-to-head against The Undertaker at WrestleMania, which takes place at the AT&T Stadium in Dallas on April 3. (Source: Hindustantimes)
